my thoughts on the first four chapters of ID2:

overall i really liked it! i enjoy seeing more of the consequences of mc becoming a vampire and how it affects the humans in her life (seeing mc struggle with bloodlust even with loved ones was really cool!) because with bloodbound by the time the mc was turned everyone in her life was already a vampire. one thing im a lil disappointed by is how they still haven’t acknowledged the more serious aspects of mc being turned? because of ley lines mc is now tied to this town for not just the rest of her life, but for immortality. any dreams/anything mc ever had hopes of doing effectively just died. additionally, mc is going to going to have to fake her own death at some point like all the town vampires do, before her mom realizes she isn’t aging. the whole elephant in the room of the reality that mc is going to outlive her mom hasn’t been touched on at all. im really curious if the book will acknowledge any of these points at all, i can’t say i have my hopes up because pb doesnt normally get that deep with mc lore and characterization. anyways, book 2 remains the same vibe as book 1 which i enjoy! book 1 was great and i’m glad it’s not changed up too much. cas continues to remain one of choices funniest LIs, and i can’t wait for the rest of it!
