Different anon here- just curious what your take is on Seiya's interactions with Usagi?
I dunno if i even have a 'take' per se.
When I watch those episodes I enourmously enjoy them for the drama and because I can see how Usagi and Seiya's personalities bounce off of one another and are well suited.
I'm like one of the few people who ships UsaMamo AND SeiUsa and consequently find myself in unenviable position of having to defend the ships from everyone lol.
In all honesty, I haven't dwelt deeply on whether Usagi and Seiya's relationship is 'problematic' or not. The lone exception is perhaps the 'Am I not good enough' line, which I feel is one of the greatest dramatic punches across all 200 episodes.
My defence of Seiya in that moment boils down to:
a) We are dealing with someone who watched their planet and people MASSACRED in the very recent past.*
b) In addition to an immenzse grief and trauma Seiya would be going through he finds in Usagi/Sailor Moon someone who gives them hope for the first time in a while. Yes, Seiya hopes to find Kakuyuu, but it's a LONG shot and they are desperate. But here is Sailor Moon healing villains and sparing them the horrible task of murdering Phages.
c) From Seiya's POV Mamoru has abandoned her. Not by going to America, but by ghosting her since then. He has a lowly opinion of Mamoru and here is this girl Seiya is in love with who is heartbroken about him whilst he (Seiya) is right in front of her and has been for a long while now.
d) We love Usagi because she is FLAWED. And sometimes those flaws can take the form of her being less than nice or out of line. This in fact is true of practically ALL the cast.** So, Seiya in the 'Am I not good enough moment' is exhibiting a human flaw.
Again, I've not thought deeply on this but off hand I guess I'd apply the above to Seiya and his relationship with Usagi more broadly as well, not just the iconic 'Am I not good enough' scene.
But there is an even deeper point to consider here.
Does the series even invite this level of realistic scrutiny?
I have this frustration with the fandom often when it comes to UsaMamo bashing or Mamoru bashing in general. Every story has a particular level of realism to it and Sailor Moon's level is not that high at all and NEVER was.
That isn't even because it uses magic and super powers and aliens.
If we are going to 'call out' Seiya (or Mamoru) in the anime for how they behave because by realistic standards it is bad then it's not fair to cherrypick what we are going to apply that realism too. You can't just STOP at those 2 relationships or indeed the bits you personally have a problem with.
Let me hit you with just ONE very glaring example.
If you apply REALISM to Sailor Moon the fundamental PREMISE of the entire franchise collapses morally speaking.
Why?
Because the premise of the series relies upon an older authorty figure (Luna, Artemis or in the SilMil Queen Serenity) recruiting child soldiers!
Sailor Senshi=Sailor Soldier
NONE of the Inners were over 18 when Luna or Artemis tracked them down. In the manga the Inners were even children when they became Senshi.
Whilst it is true they all WILLING decided to use their powers to fight evil...so what? REALISTICALLY it is illegal for minors to sign up for military combat because it is understood they lack the life experience and cognitive development to be in a position to make that decision responsibly. Same reason minors are not allowed to drive or drink or have sex or get married up until certain ages.
And all those things are much LESS serious than risking their lives fighting what amounts to very powerful, very well organised terrorist groups.
So, you apply REALISM to Sailor Moon Luna is a complete monster*** and the entire premise of Sailor Moon melts into a puddle.
At which point I very seriously have to ask if there is any wisedom at all in applying realism to our analyses of this series, whether that's in regards to Mamoru, Seiya or anything else?
It doesn't hold up to that scrutiny. It was never meant to.
And that's OKAY.
*Consider how in Doctor Who, the 9th Doctor was, at least initially, not clearly a good person in the immediate wake of losing his own people.
**Whilst I'm no fan of AnimeHaruka and Anime Michiru myself, how many people in the fandom ARE despite the way out of line things they did in S and Sailor Stars? I can't speak for those people but perhaps it may even be that they like the characters BECAUSE they are flawed in such a way to DO those out of line things.
***Which is literally why the villain of Madoka Magica (a deconstruction of the Magical Girl genre) was the Luna equivalent character.

Ay, guess who loves making stickers too much? My plan, for now, is to get the entire set of senshi made, but for now here are some new goods that are up for grabs, along with the rest.
Thank you to those who have bought already, it means so much!

Ok so Saturn as the Princess right, how does SilMil get shifted? What parts of it do you feel like should be scrapped, reworked, or have something added in?
(this ask references the first part of this ask/answer)
I finally got something ficcy together in response to this! i kept changing my mind on how I wanted to do things/how I wanted the changes to look, including not making Usagi no longer exist but instead just shifting to the story so she’s a senshi and not Princess Serenity.  And there’s a lot of details that, if I would have done this in a non-fic fashion would be explained explicitly that’s instead more or less suggested at here but hey. You can always ask more questions if you want right? XD
One quick thing I will explain that’s not a result of the AU sort of changes I made: I’ve always disliked the idea of the senshi pretty much just being clones of their silmil selves, so if they don’t seem anything like the show, that’s intentional!
“Princess.” Venus addressed, standing before the girl and falling to one knee, bringing her head just below Saturn’s, eyes lowered. “I must beg of you, please permit me to return to Hephaestus. The comms we have been recieiving have been strange, and I have a bad feeling.“
Princess Serenity, Guardian of Saturn, Messiah, and Harbinger of Silence lifted her arms, palms up, and lightly touched each of her palms to the general’s cheeks, guiding Venus’s face up with the light touch. Venus gazed up at her, breath held.
“Dear Venus, I trust if you feel you must, then you shall go. You need not beg of me. Are we not close?” Saturn leaned forward, making sure she held Venus’s gaze.
Venus gave a slight nod, pushing her chin into the princess’s hands for a moment. “Of course pri- Saturn.” She stood then, Saturn’s hands falling away from her cheeks. She took a step back so Saturn could look her in the face comfortably, without craning her neck. “I will of course arrange a detail sure to keep you safe in my absence."
Saturn smiled up at her. "I trust you shall. Be safe Venus."
A curt bow, a hesitation, and then she left.
Saturn was sitting in counsel beside her mother and knew she would be reprimanded for her inattention once the proceedings concluded. But the insurrection was confirmed. Earth and everything inbound of it had cut all communications with The Kingdom. Neptune spoke of certainty now that a powerful evil was stretched across the spheres. The sun was darker these days even, posing a very real threat. One that could not be ignored. And it had seemed for a moment they were no longer clear where Mercury, Earth, and Venus stood. Which was why the two were surrounded by the other senshi, uneasily, as the two women in question stood temporarily stripped of their powers at the hands of Serenity. The sight of them like that as they were escorted into the great chamber sent a surge of rage through Saturn, and for a moment things hushed. She thought it was a reaction in her mind, but everyone looked to her now, and her mother had a reproachful look.
"I do not comprehend,” Saturn said in a low voice aimed to Queen Serenity “why this is necessary. They are powerful but not stupid enough to risk your wrath in your home."
"Someday you will understand my daughter.” Queen Serenity said soothingly, reaching out very briefly to touch the princess’s hand. But then she pulled back and held her hands once again elegantly before her person.
“Mercury, approach the dias.” Mercury stepped forward and knelt before the queen. As always, the hard exoskeleton did not convey emotion as Saturn understood them. She had grown to be able to recognize certain gestures, postures, but when she was formal like this, she was perfectly opaque.
Queen Serenity slowly lifted her hand, palm up, and a glowing orb formed within her palm. “You are compelled to relay only truths.” As the arm reached out, elbow just away from being extended, the palm began to turn down, a motion of twisting and releasing the orb toward Mercury, the rest of the arm perfectly still as the orb slipped, as though on a thread from Queen Serenity’s fingertips to the kneeling woman, until it touched Mercury’s forehead. Her insignia flared white hot there for a moment. A shudder seemed to cascade over her body before the white orb seemed to sink into her.
“I will speak only truth.” The words came softly, given freely but pained.
“Are you in league with our enemy?” Queen Serenity demanded.
“I am not.” Mercury replied.
“Did you know of their dealings?"
"I had my suspicions, which I passed on to the general."
"Do you sympathize with their plight?"
"No my queen."
The queen dropped her hand with a short, elegant flourish, and Mercury seemed to dim. A sigh of relief seemed to flow through her. "Your powers will begin to return to you. Your loyalty is assured."
Mercury bowed over her lifted knee before standing and backing away to her place among the other senshi, away from Earth.
"Earth, approach the dias."
Earth was one Saturn could read, with features she was more familiar with.  The woman came forward with defiance behind her eyes, and Saturn found her confidence in her companions waver.
The woman knelt, bowing her head but for a moment before lifting her chin to look up at her queen and accept the burden of truth. Upon being asked if she was in league with the enemy, the woman replied, "I fear that I may be connected with the plot, but the truth is that never knowingly would I have aided your enemies."
"Explain your meaning.” The queen said coldly.
“I have reason now to suspect that…” She seemed to struggle with the phrasing, breaking into a light sweat. “I do not believe my husband has aided the enemies. But it may be that through him they have gained information that has empowered these insurgents."
"I warned you many years ago that it is unwise to marry one of the subjects of your moon.” Queen Serenity replied, an edge of heat to her voice.
At this, Earth lowered her gaze. “It does seem to have encouraged the people."
"So you admit that it is Earth that the seed of this taint has flowed from?!"
"I have reason to believe that is so. I did not want to believe it to be true."
"Where do your loyalties lie Earth?” Queen Serenity demanded.
“With your daughter.” The answer came so quickly and sharply that the two women stared hard at each other, and Saturn found she held her breath and watched her mother. Queen Serenity wouldn’t like that the loyalty wasn’t to the Kingdom or to her.
“And you family?"
"I believe that my loyalties to your daughter align with my loyalty to my family."
"You know I cannot allow this to stand. You suspected all of this. Did you report it to any of my people?”
“I did not."
"For the sake of my daughter, I allowed for her guardians, once proven, to pursue lives outside of their guardianship as long as there was no interference. Yours has interfered, and as a consequence of this, you are stripped of all titles beyond your senshi duties.—” Queen Serenity made a cutting motion as Saturn impulsively made to object, but she did not divert her attention. “You have no loyalties to Luna. You have loyalties only to the moon kingdom. Therefore you are renamed. You are only Moon, a subject of our Kingdom. You are not to return to Luna or your family from here on out. If you should fail in your duties your remaining duties to protect my daughter, then you will forthwith be additionally stripped of your powers and risk ultimate consequences. Do you understand me?"
The woman kneeling at the bottom of the dais was deflated. Her head was bowed not in reverence but in defeat. Her back bowed. The room seemed to hold its breath as she slowly collected herself. "I understand. Is that all?"
With a glance at her daughter, Queen Serenity gave a nod. "Yes.” She said tersely. “That is all."
"Then I thank you for your mercy.” The now unnamed woman conceded.
The Queen gave another curt nod then closed her eyes, almost as though she were pained. “I believe that is more than we can tolerate for the time being. We shall reconvene on the morrow. For now, the counsel of Titan is dismissed."
The advisors and witnesses and moon ambassadors began trickling away in hushed whispers that sounded like a river running through underwater caverns. Saturn continue to stand to her mother’s left, still trying to process what had all happened. She found her eyes wouldn’t leave the figure of her senshi who had lost everything, and her heart ached for ways to make it better.
"Mother.” Saturn said suddenly, turning to face the Queen who had begun to retreat toward her private chambers.
“I am not going to hear it right now child. You have much to think on yourself. Like the very real possibility that there is another just as guilty among your senshi, who you give too much freedom."
Saturn stared and felt at a loss. She didn’t even know who her mother could mean for a moment, being utterly incapable of suspecting Venus. She shoved the thought aside and hurried after the retreating forms of her senshi. She caught them just outside and immediately took hold of Moon’s hands. The woman immediately tried to kneel, but Saturn held her close. "Is there anything I can do? I can try talking to Mother later. She won’t have me right now, but I can—”
“My princess please.” Moon’s tone was pleading. “I beg you not to. Your mother could have taken her wrath out on my family and I believe it is on your behalf that she did not.” Moon squeezed Saturn’s hands and gave them one firm shake, as if drawing power from her. “It is right, the measures she took. I did wrong by you in not taking action sooner on what I suspected. Your mother seeks only to make sure it never happens again. Please though, let us—let me go back to my quarters. I must compose myself and I fear I cannot just now. I would rather you see me like this no longer."
"But Moon—"
"Please my princess. I know I ask too much, but allow me some time to grieve alone."
Slowly, Saturn nodded, and she released Moon’s hands.
"I thank you.” She said, and as she turned away, Uranus’s arm slid along the woman’s shoulders, read to support her, and the group of guardians, all except Neptune who remained at her side, continued down the corridor. It did not escape Saturn that they went together, and that grieving alone meant grieving without Saturn there, and she ached for Venus, who was the only among them who would let the gap of sovereign and subject fall away between them. But she had returned to Venus’s moon shortly before their enemies had made come out of the shadows. Venus, was in the heart of the rebellion.
(This is a thing I’m doing with friends that others are welcome to join or take bits and pieces for themselves.)

Queen Serenity
We first meet Queen Serenity in Act 10, when Luna and the girls go to the ruins of the Moon Kingdom. They find the Holy Blade in the Chamber of Prayer. Once Venus pulled it out, an image of QS appears. She explains that her will resides in the computer databanks and allows her to speak with them. She further explains that she was referred to as Selene on earth. She tells them about the fall of the Moon Kingdom and how her seal on Metallia was imperfect because of her grief and her grieving heart.
Tumblr media
She explains to them how “father” sun gave off irregular energy and that is what birthed Metallia. Metallia brainwashed all the people of earth except the Prince. In the manga, even though Mask gets captured and brainwashed, by the Dead Moon arc when the full force of the Golden Crystal’s power is almost in his grasp, he doesn’t succumb to any type of illusions. In fact, he’s the one who breaks the Senshi out of the illusions the Dead Moon Circus is trying to cast on them. So it makes sense that Endymion of the SilMill, who has power of the Golden Crystal is not easily swayed by Metallia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Queen Serenity tells the Senshi that after struggling she sealed the creature, but the Moon and Earth were completely destroyed. The only solution was to begin history again. One of the more important bits of information she tells them is that the power of the Crystal depends on the heart’s belief in faith, unity and love. This is a sentiment that Sailor Moon learns more and more about in each arc, leading up to that decisive moment in front of the Galaxy Cauldron.
Tumblr media
Almost everything else we find out about QS comes in later arcs and as flashbacks. In the other arcs, it’s revealed that she is the one who granted the Senshi their respective castles. And she is the one who tells Pluto what her role is as the Guardian of Time and what the taboos are. Probably the most interesting information on her is what we learn about her from Nehelenia. Apparently, Nehelenia pulled a Malificent; she showed up to a party and cursed the baby. QS had known that someone had infiltrated the Moon but as long as they came in peace, she would let them abide. However, Nehelenia didn’t want peace and QS used the Moon Stick to seal her, but not before Nehelenia cursed baby Serenity to never inherit the throne and predicted the fall of the Moon Kingdom. Nehelenia implies that both her and QS both originated from a distant place. That place is probably the Galaxy Cauldron, the birthplace of the universe.
Tumblr media
That leads us to one of the briefest but most tantalizing bits of information in the manga. After Usagi is reunited with everyone inside the Cauldron, the Guardian Spirit of the Cosmos and the Cauldron, in the form of a sprite, tells them that:
“long ago there was a perfect, shining star just like you that came here. Holding against her chest the empty husk of a fledgling star. That star’s strength and brilliance was just like yours, Sailor Moon. And so, she said she would stay here where I was and her life was lost to the oceans of the Cauldron. I wonder if it’s because she wanted to create a new history for the star she held.” As she says this, there’s an image of QS holding something to her chest and an image of baby Serenity.
Tumblr media
So that’s what we know from the manga, but what does it all mean? I’ve long held the belief that Sailor Moon in her truest form is a Creation Goddess. Her crystal is one of restorative power which allows for her to constantly heal and replenish those around her. Imagine if you will, that her role as Usagi and Sailor Moon is almost like an avatar of her true being, which Mamoru says is the eternally, brightest heavenly body (Star) in the universe.
Following this theory, Serenity as the Messiah and the most powerful Senshi in the galaxy seems to fall in line with the mythos surrounding hero/savior/creation stories.
All this leads us to some other questions about QS surrounding the use of her crystal. From what we understand, the heir of SilMill will one day get to use the power of the crystal. But it seemed as Naoko wrote the series she changed her mind on that. Or you could say, she made Sailor Moon end this tradition, if it was even really tradition. We don’t now how long QS was Queen in the Sil Mill and we don’t know how long that reign was or what she did before or how she got the crystal. What we do know is that she was alive for a long time. In the anime, the Snow Queen villain said that she was pushed back from earth by a brilliant light, similar to Usagi’s, implying heavily that it was the light from the Sil Crystal which would have meant from QS. And it took her billions of years to come back. Now, the anime is terrible inconsistent so take it for what it’s worth, but this implies that QS was hella strong and was protecting earth’s solar system for billions of years. Keep in mind Serenity was never suppose to be a Senshi, but only Senshi have starseed, but she has the Silver Crystal, and she was able to be Sailor Moon without the crystal. It was inside of her but not activated, like Mamoru and his crystal. So she wasn’t at full power. So in a way her power as a Senshi and as the heir to the Moon Kingdom are different. I think that Usagi’s own heart’s belief in love, unity and faith made her crystal into a Starseed. This ends the idea that the crystal can be passed down, because the Crystal is essentially her own being. ChibiUsa also is a Senshi, not just a princess. And she birthed her own crystal allowing her to transform into a Senshi. And in the Dead Moon Arc, that crystal transforms into her starseed, the Pink Heart Crystal. We don’t have specifics on what type of power this crystal has but I hold that it’s not as powerful as Moon’s and never will be.
Whereas it seems that Serenity eventually becomes more powerful than QS bc she is a Senshi, not just a goddess. But maybe I’m wrong and they’re equivalent. Or maybe her being a Senshi is what allows her to become stronger than her mother. Now I think this theory works because of what I mentioned about what Guardian Cosmos told Usagi about QS. I think QS wanted to change the “history” of the crystal and give her daughter a chance of something different than just being heir to the Moon Kingdom. So she chooses to stay in the Cauldron, losing her life to the oceans of the Cauldron. I think that means, her power was fully transferred to Usagi when she sent her to the future and she came to the Cauldron as a type of resting place, knowing that she will not be born again. That husk of a star that QS was described to be holding, had to have been Serenity after her death but before reincarnation in the future. QS must have needed to transfer her crystal into Serenity at the Cauldron, and maybe it’s that transfer that allows Serenity to become a Senshi, not just a princess. In fact, it’s the relinquishing of power that gives the entire planet earth a restart, a new history, and gives Usagi a new chance at a different life.
Tumblr media
Now this is just my idea based on what we know and what kinda makes sense to me. I like the idea of QS having a cosmic resting place and not just being left on the ruins of the moon. It’s also something every mother would do. The new history she allowed to be created is one where Serenity/Usagi becomes a Senshi and in my view, ultimately a Creation Goddess. She will always exist in some form, even cosmically, even once all others have faded away. This is essentially what Mamoru articulates in the very last chapter of the manga and its kinda bittersweet but also quite extraordinarily.

While I was there, the TenQ Space Museum at LaQua at Tokyo Dome City (craaaaazy place in and off itself??? There’s a ROLLERCOASTER going THROUGH THIS MALL. Like… there is a HOLE in the building FOR THE RANDOM ROLLER COASTER) in Tokyo (duh) held something very special: The “Over the Sailor Moon” Exhibition.
TenQ Space Museum in itself is a pretty great place, interactive like crazy (like seemingly all japanese Museums - how are they better at *everything*?) and telling us the story of space and the solar system in giant video installations, screenings, and in-house research facilities. We get to tune in to every current space expedition and project, follow every life-feed of every probe and sattelite currently scouting for us. …. Something that you will doubtless get made me incredibly excited, astronomy geek that I am. There’s a big screen wall at TenQ with push-updates of every space-project, from all the global space programs and all six government space agencies… and it felt to me a little like sitting behind Ami’s screens in Yugen.
Anyway. The last portion of the Museum is reserved for their special exhibitions, which currently housed our beloved characters. In the first room, they introduced the Senshi - in planetary order of distance to the sun - with a brief written introduction, description of their planets, myths surrounding those, and the ties of those myths to Sailor Moon. Why was the planet Venus likened to Aphrodite, what’s the moon like that Jupiter’s Silver Millenium castle was located on, which deity did Uranus got its name from, etc. etc.
Some special exhibits keep the Senshi company there. The original Myu costumes of the Sailor Starlights, framed Posters for the movies and arcs from the 90s, some original Manga art pages.
The second room is dedicated to two themes. One being the S Movie and Kaguya - including a neat interpretation to the “three Kaguyas” in the story. Luna, Himeko, and the Ice Princess riding her meteor, next to the retelling of the old folklore story of Princess Kaguya that inspired this story. - and the other completely dedicated to the Silver Millennium.
And this last part was I found the neatest in the small, lovely exhibition. They go over what we know of the SilMil in minituae detail, and then they interpret and cross-reference to science. And oh, that’s my jam. How does the story tell the birth of Earth and Moon, how does science, and where are the two similiar? We get a brief tour of the moon, Mare Serenitatis, a little video of Earthrise and the surface of the moon. And we get a brief reminder of how the moon came into existence - recounting the infamous giant-impact-theory of proto-Earth’s collision with a giant massive celestrial body that imploded against what used to be a very, very hot and gassy, unhabitible planet, and not only turned into the moon via gravity and debris, but also cooled down the Earth considerably enough to be able to host the developement of life. And then it goes back to Sailor Moon, takes the image of the Moon as protector of Earth, and asks, what would happen to the Earth without its satelite?
It quotes Queen Serenity, in the Manga, on what the Silver Millennum’s and Lunar royalty’s duty is to Earth. What it is they do.  “Remove the disturbing factors from the Earth”, “Encourage, provide rescue, and guide the Earth to evolve in the best manner possible.” The Moon was there to help the Earth with their evolution. And this is, in a way, pretty damn true. Without the formation of the Moon, there would be no life today on Earth, most likely. And added to that, eons ago, after the formation of the Moon, the two were much closer to each other than today, and scientists believe the stronger tides to be one factor why evolution had to make the leap forward to move from sea to land. Not to mention the asteroids and impacts the moon has been shielding the Earth from for all this - turning the farside of the Moon into swiss cheese while keeping us from harm.
So, the exhibition concludes, calling the Moon the protector of the Earth is a sound and accurate thing to say, from a scientific viewpoint.
It doesn’t stop there, but goes through symbolisms of the moon in Japan and outside, discusses the Silver Crystal in similiar manners as the Moon’s status as Earth’s protector, and over all, for such a small exhibition, it’s the damn best I’ve ever seen - and right up my alley. I even got to walk on a VR moon (in the main exhibition)! (Y’know, just like my Usagi did, in Ikigai ;) Pretty damn cool seeing museums do something like that for real!)

Note
your headcanon about Sailor Venus being the reason the Silver Millennium falls is so interesting!
what's the role of Metalia and Beryl in it? did they work together with Sailor Venus?
Thank you!
I actually don’t really consider Metalia when I think about SilMil and the Dark Kingdom, if i do implement her, she’s usually more of a ‘force’ rather than an entity per se, but to answer your question, not really.
Silmil Venus wants to cause the downfall of the Silver Millennium, but she has no means or interest to interact with the Earth colony. She’s very aware of the multiple rebellions and surges, but it’s more like she uses them to her advantage rather than fully cooperate with anyone. Her main means of manipulation are through the Princess and even the Queen herself, pushing the Queen to take the Earth threats more seriously and thus causing further dismay and desperation upon the people of Earth, accelerating the possible tipping point that could finally cause a full on War. While also keeping secret of the more delicate aspects of the rebellion, such as infiltrators. She knows exactly who’s planning to turn their backs on the Kingdom, but since it highly benefits her, she keeps it a secret.
As for Beryl, Beryl has so much potential, she genuinely has and I do plan on exploring aspects of her character in my version of Silmil. To start she’s not just a random maiden (or witch for some reason), she’s a part of a highly secretive rebellion group against Moon kingdom, who’s goal is to free Earth and its people from the ruthless dictatorship of Serenity. This group includes tons of different people, sort of like a spy network, but at its core it’s composed of Beryl herself, Kunzite, Zoisite, Nephrite, Jadeite, Thetis, Enymion and .. Luna. (If someone is more curious about this one shoot an ask and I’ll explain further, but i rlly wanna focus on Beryl in this).
Beryl’s goals are to infiltrate the Moon Kingdom, steal and shatter the silver Crystal, being aware that that crystal is the center of all power for Serenity and the other Senshi. This information being gathered by Luna and also by a mysterious voice who offers her guidance.
A lot of how exactly the Moon Kingdom falls is still in the writing works, but I basically see Queen Serenity finding out about Luna, executing her and launching what is by all means a missile attack to Earth, destroying and killing thousands of people in the villages where Beryl and the knights reside. This hatred within Beryl causes the mysterious voice to fully come forth and offer her a power in exchange for Queen Serenity’s life, she takes it and a full on attack on the Moon starts. The Queen is obviously taken aback, but she’s also very old and much weaker than she used to be, so she leaves most of the work on Venus. Venus takes it willingly and kills all of the other senshi behind closed doors (which at this point is only Mercury, Jupiter and Mars), looking to find the princess next.
Beryl and the Queen have a one to one, where the queen becomes more and more aware that she’s not making it out alive and at this point she’s not putting much of a fight, it’s the inevitable end of a cycle and her time was about to come soon anyways. The Queen is old and tired, the empire is falling, but a new ruler is going to be reborn regardless and she will start a new empire. She accepts death and lets herself be killed by Beryl. In the meantime Endymion is looking for Serenity, but Venus gets to him first and kills him. When Serenity finds her way to her deceased lover, Venus lies, like she always does, saying he was killed in battle, along with the rest of her guardians and her mother.
By means I still haven’t fully figured out (I will find a way for it to make sense, I’m so determined!) Venus sword has the power to reawaken a soul lying dormant within a reincarnated body if the previous reincarnation was killed by said blade, so she proposes to let Serenity be killed by her so that hers and Serenity’s souls will live on into the next life and will eventually be able to fully reawaken and take over their reincarnated selves. It will be their new life, where Serenity will be able to live happily ever after with her beloved prince, free from the shackles of the will of her mother and any responsibility to have to govern any empire. Serenity accepts and lets her ‘dearest of friends’ Venus kill her. With a smile on her face Venus points the sword toward herself, knowing she will live on, free from the queen and finally being able to kill her princess before she’s able to enslave her again in her next life.
Beryl and the kings return victorious to Earth and live relatively regular lives after that. Skip to the time where the senshi are starting to get reborn and the mysterious voice reaches out for the souls of Beryl and the other kings and Endymion, their job is not done and they must stop the new princess and her guardians from rebuilding a new Empire in the current timeline.
A lot of this is still in the writing works, so stuff might change, but this is more or less how I see the fall of the Moon Kigdom and Beryl’s involvement in it. She’s sort of like the live long enough to see yourself become the villain trope, she was the hero all those years ago, she’s just blinded by rage and power fueled by this mysterious voice.

hogwarts!au sailor moon headcanons
magical creatures were once native to the SilMil worlds - they were sent to earth with the SilMil citizens after Metalia attacks. The Moon had pretty creatures, like unicorns and mooncalfs. Veela’s are from Venus and Jupiter and Uranus had all sorts of crazy flying creatures (jupiter had them in giant versions). Jupiter was also home to giants. Saturn and Pluto were hella creepy and had thestrals and acromantula and other “scary” creatures. If people chose to be ghosts after travelling through the midnight gate, they had to stay on Pluto or Saturn. Mars has phoenixes and Mercury and Neptune have merpeople and grindylows.
Hogwarts was founded by the ancestors of the first shitennou - the school was opened after the royal family was overthrown by muggles and located above Elysion under the protection of Helios. The rest of the world’s decided Earth wasn’t safe and so it was forbidden to travel there. Earth people lived peacefully for a time - magic became legend to much of the world over the years until Metalia corrupted Beryl and the Silver Millennium came to an end. All of the amazing creatures and people were sent to the earth as if they had always been there and the Moon Kingdom and Silver Alliance became legend and was forgotten. (the Lovegood’s of course believe that the Moon Kingdom existed - they were from the Moon and sometimes dream of their life there - no one believes them).
After the Galaxy Cauldron, the Senshi and Shitennou are allowed to live the lives they were supposed to live as guardians. The planets are awakened and the Silver Alliance is restored under Serenity and Endymion as part of the International Confederation of Wizards.
The next generation of Senshi and Shitennou attend Hogwarts with the new generation of Potter/Weasleys and Co.
Voldemort was corrupted by Chaos. The Senshi go undercover as Hogwarts students to help fight him - their sailor crystals allowing them to will themselves younger to go through Hogwarts with Harry and co.
While at Hogwarts:
Haruka, Minako and Makoto join quidditch
Rei is amazing at Divination
Makoto and Neville are really good friends - they talk plants all the time
Michiru and Haruka love to kiss in the hallways in front of Umbridge to watch her get mad
Luna and McGonagall are besties
Rei brought Phobos and Deimos with her - she will fight anyone who says they aren’t “proper pets”
Hotaru and Setsuna can see Thestrals
Time Turners make Pluto really angry
The Veil makes Hotaru angry and she “sews it closed” with the Silence Glave
Usagi makes friends with literally everyone
Mamoru awakens the Shiennou
Minako thinks love potions are a crime against nature
Setsuna and Hotaru hate the killing curse and can hear the souls scream when they are hit with the curse.
Michiru plays her violin for the Giant Squid - merpeople and other sea creatures come to the surface to listen.
Unicorns LOVE the guardians
Buckbeak loves Makoto and Haruka
Fawkes gets along with Phobos and Deimos really well and often hangs out with Rei - much to Dumbledore’s amusement.
Everyone gets into general hogwarts shenanigans
Saturn’s (maybe Pluto's) prince many years ago was Death in the story of the three brothers - the wand was from the tree of life and death, the stone from Styx the great marsh, and the cloak from the Midnight Gate. This prince was imprisoned after these events. Harry gives the Hallows back to Hotaru or Setsuna after the war, since they belong to her.
Please add your own! I’ll add more as I think them!

wreck / seventeen
@storyofthedoor did not just do prompt requests, she actually gave me a FRAME STORY for them, and I died three times before I could finish laughing long enough to start trying to figure out how the hell to pull this off. And then I figured someone would be pulling something either way!
Prompts:
kendy/skunzite/seventeen,smut ok
kendy/luna/wreck,smut ok
Frame story is CT Kunzite and CT Minako, Luna, Diana, and King Endymion, written by her. XD
Vee sitting up in bed, staring at phone. Kunzite in bed with her, arm around her, laying down. K: quit staring at things that light up I’m asleep. V: Not asleep, you just talked.
He sits up to look at what she’s fixated on. She types gleefully. K: … what? Is that? V: TUMBLR.
He grabs the phone out of her hand and starts typing furiously. K: I GOT YOU ONE BETTER THAN THAT. V: NOOO my phone my ask.
What he types. K: “King Endymion / Luna / Wreck” V: You can’t type stuff like that about your king! K: Anonymous internet I do what I want.
She grabs the phone back and types furiously with her tongue out, he watches what horrible thing she writes. K: That’s not even POSSIBLE… V: It’s the internet. There’s porn of it ESPECIALLY if it can’t exist!
What she types. V: “King Endymion / Silmil Kunzite / Seventeen” K: Not gonna be porn though with that at the end. V: It could be porn in Europe. ^_~
The phone makes a pinging noise. Vee looks down at it. Her face lights up. V: Oh!! That was - fast --
Her face goes horrified. Kunzite’s face lights up. She hands him the phone between thumb and finger, barely holding the dirty dirty corner of it. He gleefully holds out grabby hands. V: …………. It’s for you.
He holds the phone, but they both stare transfixed at the screen.
After the haze of pleasure slowly cleared and he looked down at the beautiful odangoed girl in his arms, catnapping peacefully, Endy realized that he was actually in the middle of a slow-motion trainwreck.
For a moment, his heart froze in terror: for the many, many long years ahead of them, he hoped damn well he'd still be Artemis' drinking buddy and poker night rival. And then it got worse: for the many, many long years behind them, as much as it was the subject of endless jokes about him and cats, he'd never even once considered-- even knowing about the one astrophysicist-- and so, how could he forgive himself? Had she been pining all these years, afraid to ask? Was the famed Joined Court strangely xenophobic or speciesist in its casual polyamory?
Vee recoils from the phone and can’t look anymore. V: AAaauuu how are you still reading? Poor Endy! K: They got the ‘wreck’ part right. K: And seems like Luna enjoyed it. c:
And then the blood drained from his face and took the terror with it, leaving a hollow feeling in his gut. The ultimate potential consequence to his inability to stand strong against the woes of a crying girl that he loved in any way revealed itself to the King of Earth--
Now Kunzite holds the phone away from him and makes a XP face. Vee wasn’t reading but now she wants to know! K: ooh…. V: What?? How did it end??
Small Lady was about a month away. King Endymion really didn’t know if Mauan reproductive biology worked like humans’ or like cats’... and that meant Diana could well be Small Lady’s half-sister.
They both squirm and flail.
V: I should have just stayed away. I see Diana every day I don’t want to think about this. K: …. So bad….
He grins at her and elbows her. K: So worth it.
Outside their room, a little fuzzy black paw pats on the door and begins to push it open.
Both Vee and Kunzite jolt to stare at the door.
Luna pushes the door open, Diana is sitting on her back. Di: Hi!!! C: L: You guys are sleeping in today! I thought we had work to do! I was going to talk to you about-
Vee is traumatized by sudden Luna. O_O Kunzite makes the :| face and throws the phone over his shoulder out the window.
Luna and Diana stop talking. O_o ...
The phone makes the looooong drop out of a high (modernized neo tokyo) castle window. V: aaaAAAAA THAT WAS MY PHONE!!!!
Vee has put a bathrobe on and is shaking Kunzite by the shoulders. V: YOU THREW MY PHONE OUT THE WINDOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS ON THAT PHONE-
K: Ye- NO… V: WE HAVE TO GET IT. BEFORE ANYONE-
Luna and Diana are ready to help!!!! L: We can help you find it! It can’t have gone far!!
Vee and Kunzite, together, launched out of bed and running for the door. V: NO THAT’S ALRIGHT LUNA WE’LL BE RIGHT BACK IT’S TOTALLY OKAY!!!
Meanwhile, outside, strolling around the castle gardens on a nice morning, King Endymion comes across an abandoned phone that looks like Vee’s phone???
He picks it up, and the screen is still unlocked, and it says 'new notification' so of course he checks it out, and his eyes widen.
He woke up in two Elysions simultaneously, and instantly knew he'd misstepped. He hadn't even been aiming for Elysion at all-- he'd just taught his former self how to use Tuxedo la Smoking Bomber in defense of his daughter and the past version of his wife, and had only meant to check and see exactly how well his younger self's psychometry was developed in comparison to what he remembered of the time.
Obviously that hadn't worked, and he reached up to rub his eyes under his mask, and Elysion resolved, collapsing the uncertainty into one reality. Strangely, he could hear people in the background, and picked himself up off the forest floor and crept ahead to see what was going on--
--and came across the outskirts of the little town that had thrived, back in the days of the Golden Kingdom, between the castle and the sacred buildings that housed Helios, the Maenads, and the Great Library of Magic. His eyes widened, and he stepped backwards, only to feel the point of a sword at his back.
He was already calling his strength into his hand for its inevitable attack release when the owner of the sword spoke. "You're trespassing on holy ground," the voice came. "Who--"
That voice. He knew that voice so well: that voice from his past and his present, that voice that belonged to the person he loved so well as a child and an adolescent in the Golden Kingdom, that voice that was raised in frustration so soon before the end, that voice that had haunted the senshi during the days of the Dark Kingdom, that voice that thereafter had come, ghostly and level to advise him from the depths of a stone.
The King turned, tears in his dark ocean-blue eyes behind the white mask, and he let the forming attack disperse. Kunzite was behind him, still threatening with the sword, solid and firm in his ready stance. He sounded young-- he looked so young. "Kunzite..." he barely breathed.
The teenaged Shitennou stared, sword lowering abruptly. "En-- Endymion?" he asked tentatively, then glanced back over his shoulder toward the library, and looked back at the impossible King, the man's bearing and age, and fine but strange attire, bespeaking a future he couldn't possibly know. He knew without asking, but he had to confirm it-- but the fierce pride when looking at him had already settled in his bones. This was the king that his beloved prince would one day become, this king who held every bit of love in his eyes as the boy he protected with the entirety of his body and soul. His king.
King Endymion, smiling with such wistful affection, reached up to undo the ties of the mask behind his black hair, showing so much more clearly the long, long life between himself and the boy prince that Kunzite knew to the depths of his heart, showing the glittering of unshed tears. "I don't know if this is a dream," he said, voice low and uncertain, "so I don't know how much I should tell you-- but I want to tell you so many things..."
Kunzite could only stare, reading more things in that face he could read so effortlessly, in those eyes that clearly held grief and longing, than the King could have said with words. "...oh," he said after a moment, voice so low it was nearly inaudible. The young man swallowed. "Can you-- can you tell me when I... when I made the mistake? No-- no, you can't, you can't change your past."
The King, reaching out to touch Kunzite's young face, smiled with so much pain-- but the contact, the empathic connection, the King's power-- was familiar in the unconditional love and acceptance that the boy had given him since the moment the child Kunzite had come to guard the toddler prince. It's just that the power was so much more overwhelming, a golden flood of centuries of emotion and longing and triumph and grief. Kunzite leaned his face into the touch, then dropped his sword and took the King's hand in both of his, and the King could feel from him the depths to which Kunzite would sink to protect him, the fierce and fiery love he had for him, the desperate desire to know when he could possibly have failed him by dying.
Abruptly, a wild light entered Endymion's eyes, and the rushing golden embrace of his power swept Kunzite up in a sudden, reckless, bright hope. "We're already interfering in the past. Why not again? Why not spare you the heartache, why not give you a chance to fix what happened in my timeline? Why not give another us a chance to live? To live and create another history? It happens when I'm seventeen. Trust me, even if the world tells you I'm under a spell. Trust me, even if everything I say seems to indicate I'm being tricked, being lied to-- trust me and stay by me, and trust that even if everything still goes wrong and everything dies, we'll all come back."
Kunzite's gaze lifted abruptly in surprise, and the hope was infectious, but toward the end, his heart seized in alarm and a growing sense of horror. He hadn't just died, then. The mistake wasn't only one that cost him his own life, and cost the Prince his first guardian.
"We'll all come back," Endymion continued, earnest and strong, "and if you stay by me, if you believe me even when it seems like the world will burn and I'll be lost to you forever, if you keep the others with me-- if you only trust me-- we'll be together again. Don't believe the rumors about the Moon. Don't believe anything you hear about them spying on us, about them intending to invade-- trust me, trust the Moon-- trust Venus. Work with her, once you've met her. Help me, guide me, don't try to prevent the love I'll find-- try to help me find a way to get our people to believe in an alliance with the Silver Millennium. And when the solar storm hits a couple of years from now, after I've met the Princess, ask for the help of the Queen of the Moon. We don't have enough power on our own to ward off the demon that will turn the people of Earth against the Moon... against me. They do. And they will help. They only want to help us thrive. They want to take nothing from us. Believe me. Trust me. You might be able to save everything-- and if the demon overwhelms even the allied planets of the Silver Millennium, and nothing is saved this time except souls-- there will be another time, and we'll find each other again, instead of-- instead of--"
Kunzite reached up to press his fingertips to the King's lips, startled at his own motion but keeping it. "I understand," he said, voice breaking. "I believe you. You're alive in front of me-- and you have the Moon's long lifespan, haven't you? I believe you. I trust you. I won't forget."
The King couldn't help himself. There was only a flicker of warning before he kissed the young man's fingertips, catching his hand in one of his own, and the other hand rose to brush Kunzite's bone-white hair away from his face.
There was a bright laugh from the direction in which Kunzite had glanced back, and the laughter of other boys, familiar but so much younger, and Kunzite and King Endymion both looked that way before glancing back at each other. Time's up, their mutual understanding stated.
And then there was no warning. Endymion leaned forward suddenly, giving the past version of his guardian a fierce, possessive kiss, full and deep. "I won't stop trying to get you back in my own timeline," he said against the young man's lips, voice nearly a growl, and then fading into something achingly hopeful as the thousand-year-old King began to dissipate into golden glimmerings in the air, "but you damned well better make sure there's a better future in yours."
Kunzite watched until there was nothing left, his fingertips pressed to his own lips in incredulity and overwhelming confusion.
And then a thirteen-year-old prince crashed through the underbrush and into Kunzite's side, the impact nearly shaking the wall that was his oldest guardian--
--and Kunzite fell to his knees and captured his prince in a crushingly tight hug.
Prince Endymion squeaked. "What's wrong?" he asked, flustered, even as he hugged back hard.
"Nothing," Kunzite murmured against the boy's hair. "And nothing will be, either."
"Oh god, Venus, what are you even reading..." King Endymion asked the air, breathless and choked up, the heel of his gloved hand coming up to scrub at his eyes and partially crushing his mask. "Who even wrote this..."
He took the long way back around to the palace, pocketing the phone so he could give it back to her once he'd composed himself.

what do you think are the main differences between Silver Millennium Nephrite and present Nephrite? how about Jupiter?
Thanks for the ask, anon! I like this question!
I’ll start with Jupiter, because I have a much clearer grasp of her character on both ends of history: For the most part, I think SilMil Princess Jupiter and Makoto are pretty similar in a lot of ways. They’re both big-hearted and loving, sincere and direct, courageous and naturally inclined to protect others.
The differences, I think, come down mostly to how and where they grew up. Unlike Makoto, Princess Jupiter wasn’t born into a culture where the ideal of feminine beauty is small and petite. I’ve tl;dr-ed in the past about what I think Jovian culture might have been like and what it would mean for Mako’s past incarnation - coming from a culture where it’s normal and desirable to be tall and strong, Princess Jupiter would not have had any of Makoto’s body image problems, and would have none of Makoto’s self-consciousness about her height and strength. She would be much more confident and comfortable in her own skin, able to own her stature.
Princess Jupiter also hasn’t lost her family or been rejected the way that Makoto has. Even when she left her home kingdom to become one of the princess’s guardians on the Moon, she had the sisterhood of the other Guardian Senshi and her Princess waiting for her. She’d never have been on her own the way that Makoto has.
So overall I imagine Princess Jupiter as much more secure and confident than Makoto, better able to reconcile the two sides of her nature as both a warrior and a princess. She’d still have a romantic streak, but without the insecurity that drives Makoto I don’t think she’d be as quick or as desperate to fall in love. She’d also lack most of Makoto’s domestic skills, since as a princess there’d be no need for her to learn much by way of cooking or housework, and Makoto admits that she’s exerted herself to be good at those things in part to make up for what she sees as a lack of femininity in herself. Gardening, I think, would be the hobby the two incarnations of Jupiter would have in common, since her powers include an innate connection to plants and flowers.
Nephrite is harder for me to pin down, for two reasons: one, we see very very little in any version of canon about what he was like before he was corrupted by Beryl and Metallia, and though we know that in manga canon the Shitennou were reborn into human lives the same as the senshi, we don’t know anything about them, so basically any concept of who he is when he’s not evil is pure speculation and extrapolation to begin with.
And two, there are two major lines of thought in the fandom for what Nephrite is like as a character depending mostly, I think, on whether you formed your first impressions from the manga or from the classic anime. I myself started from the super Byronic depiction we see in Classic, and that version has a special place in my heart, but I’ve also gained an appreciation for the roughneck version that a lot of manga fans run with.
So here’s where I’m going to be a little cheap and tag in @wittyblather and @luna-whiskers to share their thoughts on this question if they are so inclined! The two of them have been primarily responsible for shaping how I envision Nephrite in his two respective interpretations; basically any time you see me writing Nephrite it’s going to be based on how one or the other of them writes Nephrite. So I think they’d be able to give much better answers on the subject than I can.

When Halley Passes (A Senshimom Sailor Moon Fanfic)
Title: When Halley Passes
Summary: Queen Serenity looks back on the decisions in her life and wonders if her choices set them all on a course to the Moon Kingdom’s end in the Silver Millennium.
World: SilMil! origin AU; This  story is a lat the origin of why Princess Serenity and Endymion were forbidden to meet.
Length: 1309 words
Status: Complete
As she lay her arm down, Queen Serenity found herself wondering if she would have done things differently. It took all of her strength to tilt her head in the direction of Chikyuu, the place the humans and their Princeling called Earth. Would her little princess miss life in the Moon Kingdom or would the warmth and color of Earth enthrall her? She had faith that the Senshi and their cat advisors would find each other. She could only hope that they would all reunite and experience some of life without the burden to rule and to protect. These types of musings were common when one only had a few moments left to be alive.
As the edge of darkness crept around the corners of her vision, she closed her eyes and preferred to spend her last breaths remembering things of long ago.
As it was in life and her soon-to-be-death, Serenity was lonely. There were few other beings in the galaxy like herself. Lunarians of the royal line were granted a life longer than most due to their possession of the Ginzuishou, the Silver Crystal. Often the passing of power was dictated by one’s desire to rest and return to the stars. Serenity did not have the choice to rule for the Lunarian elders only allowed one female heir each generation.
After a particularly horrid day of listening to the elders debate the merit of using the Ginzuishou to regrow crops or to heal the farmers hearts, Serenity was exhausted. In the end, she knew she would relent and do both.
“Is it wise to appease them all, your Highness?” Luna, her young cat advisor asked.
Serenity looked outside her chamber window letting the silence grow before speaking. “Everyone will be satisfied that is all that matters.”
Luna brushed against the edge of Serenity’s dress. It was a small token of comfort. One that took Serenity many ages to accept. “But the Ginzuishou weakens you.”
“Yes, I am well-aware, but least I won’t have to listen to their bickering for another few weeks. My mind, at least, will have some respite.”
After it was done, Serenity lay in her chamber. She knew the Senshi were not too far. They’ve learned to at least grant her the illusion of being truly alone when recovering from using the GInzuishou. It was in that rare moment of self-pity that Serenity noticed the comet pass overhead. She dozed for a few minutes, her body demanded sleep to recover.
When she re-opened her eyes, there was Lord Halley at her window. When he bowed, his long single brown braid swung to the side falling against his shimmery black cloak.
She opened the window. No one had ever dared to visit her at this time.  She was both frustrated and exhilarated.
“Your Senshi are quite adept. They only let me pay you a visit if I gave them my ring that allows me transport away,” Lord Halley said, as he kneeled with his eyes still downcast.
Serenity bristled in her chair. She was still too tired to stand. “You may rise, Lord Halley. My mother had spoken of your kind, so I am familiar with your penchant to pass through the universe.”
With a musical laugh, he smiled. “You should be honored then at my presence, Lady Queen. Wherever I visit, those places become a part of my being.  My people are born of comets and we desire to both move and find a place they can rest.”
Serenity allowed a small smile. He, too, understood what it was like to live beyond the life span of many. At least, this is something they would share. “You may stay. Let us talk.”
So that visit was the first over many decades. It was no surprise that over the years, their friendship turned to fondness, which lead Serenity to allow herself to bed with the handsome Lord.
Even before she announced she was with child, her Venusian guardian, Dionne stormed into her chamber. The normally poised Senshi was breathless and angry. “I am sorry to find out that it is true. The light from your daughter’s crystal is even more evident from here. And the father?”
“You already know him. Though the elders won’t approve.”
Dionne glanced to the window. “Lord Halley.”
Serenity said, “I wanted this one choice for myself.  And someone who must always think of others first, surely you understand such desires.”
“You do not know what you have done,” Dionne said, “A mixed-heritage will surely doom the kingdom. I must consult the others and perhaps even, Pluto.” With a reproachful glance behind her, Dionne left the chamber.
Serenity rubbed her belly protectively. “At least I am not alone.”
Lord Halley had arrived on the eve before Princess Serenity’s birth. He was only welcome because Queen Serenity ordered it. When the baby’s cries broke through, he was there. He brought the tiny child to Serenity. Only after the baby finished suckling that she opened her eyes, and Serenity knew that the child was a halfling. The Lunarians only had eyes as grey as moonlight. But her dear princess had the brightest eyes she had ever seen. They were a mix of so many colors, brown like Halley’s hair, and yellow like the sun, and of colors she had no words for.
Serenity gasped at how lovely they were. “From what world does this child come from?”
“Chikyuu,” Halley said softly, “Earth as they say. Your Lunarians have not had relations with those people for some time. Her eyes are the color of rock and grass and sun and water. All things that bring warmth to that planet.”
Serenity continued to stare at her baby. “Is it me or does her hair shimmer?”
Halley chuckled. “That is from my kin as she is part star dust, too.”
“She is the most wondrous thing have seen,” Serenity smiled, letting herself revel in the warmth of the baby nestled against her chest.
“My Lady,” he said, rising, “you know the stars call me. I regret that I can not stay longer for I shall perish if I do.”
Serenity, who was unused to crying, felt tears well. It was due to the stress of birth, she knew. Nevertheless, she asked the question she dreaded. “And what of our daughter?”
Halley kissed the baby’s silver ringlets. “She may be happy here since she is half-Lunarian, but since Earth was the last place I visited before we bed, I can only guess she will be drawn there. I will check with the elders of my kind and report my findings on my next visit.”
Serenity felt a sting of jealously at the thought of losing the only other person that was like herself. “I will forbid any contact between our people. She will love the moon kingdom so much that the call of Chikyuu will fall on deaf ears.”
Halley looked as if he was going to say more, but Serenity ordered him to speak no more. He transformed back into a comet and flew away in a fiery blaze.
Princess Serenity’s Earth origins were never spoken of again.
Queen Serenity blinked again, the watery blue Earth seemed to fill her vision. Now, centuries later, she knew she had made many mistakes. Forbidding her daughter from knowing her father or visiting the place her very being called to. It was this decision that pushed her daughter into the arms of the Earth Prince. It is why, with her very last bit of power, even as her Kingdom crumbled around her, Serenity sent the princess and her guardians to Earth. They were no longer forbidden.
Before her last breath, Halley appeared. She couldn’t tell where his cloak began and the stars ended. She didn’t hear his words, but she hoped he would accept her apology for her silence. At least, she was not alone.

So since in your AU Setsuna replaces Luna in the mentor role and considering how "all knowing time lord overseer" Pluto tends to be how would you handle her reaction to the girls' questions during the early DK arc where no one has a clue wtf Tuxedo Mask even IS or why Mams is the anomaly that he he, cause I imagine they'd be fielding tons of her questions her way. What about when the other Outers show up? How does she react to questions about THEM? (especially world-destroying anomaly Saturn)
Hmm.In the interest of keeping this “"short”“ (and totally not because i don’t have a lot of it worked out)… in vague order.
Guardians are the “natural” state of senshi and a few other supernaturally powered folk in the setting, while the Sailor Senshi are ones organized under a specific cult/ruler, complete with uniforms and some shared gimmicks. AU Silmil-Pluto in the past didn’t wear the uniform and probably insisted on not being referred to as a sailor senshi to maintain some impartiality in her duties, though she did work with the SilMil in general, similar to the way Helios was a guardian working with the Golden Kingdom but not really *part* of it. TL;DR Setsuna isn’t surprised by senshi “anomalies” like ENdymion or Saturn, because she already was one
My Setsuna is a Minako-style reincarnate deal, probably the “closest” to her alternate self of any of the senshi but not exactly the same person… which means she isn’t particularly all-knowing, and even a lot of the stuff she’d specifically know isn’t of much practical use to the girls in the modern era; it’s stuff provided to make a more interesting story for the audience. How much does Minako having better memories help the other four, for comparison? Eh. At best, Setsuna might find out a little sooner than the others that Mams is going around as something called “Tuxedo Mask”, but that’s it. Whatever ‘familiar’ feeling she gets from Mams (enough to warrant tracking them over a period of years), Pluto wouldn’t remember Endymion as anyone particularly important besides another of Beryl’s nondescript lackeys in her court. Pluto did, on separate occasions, suspect Beryl was siphoning power from somewhere and that Beryl might be intentionally hiding a guardian from Serenity’s eyes, but the connection between any of those wouldn’t exist.
In… some version of the future arc, Setsuna encounters the equivalent of the Wiseman character, who’s she suspects might be *a* future Pluto gone rogue, as it’d explain the time shenanigans and a few other coinicdences. Among other seemingly outrageous claims, this heavily-degraded, time-displaced person claims to specifically BE Setsuna herself. More confusingly, they have the remnants of Sailor Pluto’s regalia, which from Setsuna’s perspective she doesn’t have “yet”. Setsuna helps stop the BMC in a broadly similar manner as canon - possibly from an impressively fatal use of latent senshi abilities in an untransformed state, suspects Ami - and “dies”/vanishes under mysterious circumstances. Setsuna ends up back in the past and spends a while recuperating and getting her mental bearings Gandalf-style away from the others. Usagi and co. are glad she’s apparently alive but confused as to why she’s keeping her distance via weirdly vague correspondence.
Turns out it’s spooky apocalypse dreams along with needing to find two OTHER girls who’ve already been in altercations with “strange creatures” keeping Setsuna apparently busy, and her fears are confirmed when Setsuna realizes she can transform now. It’s time for Sailor Pluto and.. the other two, to sort some things out. Something big is coming, but it seems to be just this spooky crew and weird monsters and eldritch horror, the three can handle it... but once you get away from all the eldritch monster physics bullshit, the stuff that’s so much static in the way of what seems to be actually there, it hits her. Oh it’s THIS instead. Well, that’s much worse. I don’t think Setsuna knew going in that Saturn (who I do think she was vaguely aware existed in the past) was going to be specifically involved in this thing now, though being the first senshi to figure it out didn’t exactly give her a smug feeling obviously.
Setsuna being distant and weird and seemingly attaching to herself to a new team is just the start of problems and a gulf between her the Inners thats gonna grow soon. As for the Outers, Minako would probably tell the girls as much as she knows about them before Setsuna gets a chance to. Trouble is, what she recalls don’t seem to be good memories.

Please tell us about Luna (and Artemis)!
Alright!
Luna as I mentioned here was a part of the rebellion group that included Beryl and the 4 kings back in the silver millennium, she was a crucial part of the operation as she was the only one with direct access to the Moon Kingdom and the Queen.
Though let me take it back a second and explain who Luna is. The name Luna isn’t her name per se, but more of a title/position in the royal court that is passed down. The role of a Luna is given to a human woman whose job is to be a caretaker, specifically she’s the caretaker for any reborn senshi.
Say the current Mercury does anything that gets her executed, the new Mercury will be reborn on Earth and it’s Luna’s job to take her from her human parents and raise her til the age where she’s mature enough to be independent.
Additionally, since it happens that a whole life of a Luna can pass by without her even needing to take care of any senshi ( read more on how old the senshis are here, in the comments) she also is entasked with small roles as advisor for the queen and mediator during Earth expeditions, both of these jobs are her responsibility ONLY if it has to do with the senshi.
Our Luna didn’t raise any of the senshi, they are all adults when she is given the title of Luna, despite that Luna still tries to be there for (most of) them like a mother would. She feels for them and understands the terrible situations they’re in. That said she’s not treated well by all of them, really the only ones that treat her nicely and with respect are Mars and Neptune, and in her own way Mercury.
Luna is very passionate, even in her current life, she’s very driven by a sense of justice, while also having a very compassionate heart toward the people she’s supposedly betraying. Though she’s never swayed to think that what she’s doing isn’t right, the people of Earth deserve better and for that, the Moon Kingdom has to fall, even if she knows it means most likely means the death of the senshi and the princess.
She’s eventually discovered and executed, Mars tipping off the Queen to her doings. Mars is a very interesting character in silmil and she’s def the most “lawful good” out them all, but with her future vision, she does what she has to make sure the pieces fall into place for a better future. She knew Luna’s execution was the only opening for such future, so she regrettably did what she had to do. There’s 0 animosity between them, more like a mutual respect and liability. They never talked about such issues openly between each other, but there was always a silent mutual understanding. Mars understood Luna’s actions and Luna’s understood Mars’.
Skipping to the current time, the same Luna that was executed was reincarnated into the body of a cat, my theory is that cats are nimble, low key creatures who are able to fairly easily integrate into society while still not being human and so that’s why the Queen chose such form. She didn’t want Luna to be a human cause she doesn’t need Luna to stick around long, cats live much shorter lives and she only needs Luna to care of the senshi during their ‘transitioning training’ period and then die, having fulfilled her purpose.
All Luna’s memories were erased, only keeping very foggy, but clear goals in her mind. Awaken the senshi, find the princess and stop the evil Dark Kingdom. I like to think Queen Serenity chose this past Luna to reincarnate instead of just getting a fresh new soul because Luna already carried that sort of experienced motherly vibe with her, making it easier the ease the senshi into accepting their new destiny, but also maybe as a sort of taunting punishment. This is your punishment for your betrayal, you’ll unknowingly help defeat the same group you were a part of all those years ago and that empire you tried to destroy, will rise once again, with you knowing no better and dying before even getting to witness it.
As for Artemis, my ideas with him are definitely not as fleshed out. I most often tend to see him as the royal advisor of the Queen, his name also being a title. He really believes the Queen to be a sort of superior being, but he does also have a deeper attachment to her, seeing the more human side to her, which no1 else really gets to see.
He’s a bit more on the cynical side when it comes to the Earth people. Not that he sees them as completely inferior, but he believes people like them need beings like Serenity to mantain peace and order, even if they don’t know better. Humans are inherently selfish and self-destructive, he witnessed it, being a human who grew up on Earth.
He regularly interacted with Venus, being another victim of her manipulations, even if not to the level of Serenity, and holds her to a standard higher than the other senshi, seeing the rest of them as unmotivated and ungrateful of being a part of the court.
Unlike Luna, he retained his memories when he got reincarnated. Lying and withholding information to the true extent of what the senshi, the princess and the kingdom truly entail to the future of the girls and Earth itself, even from Luna.
He believes he’s doing the right thing, that Queen Serenity knew better and that this is how things should be. Though in the back of his mind something doesn’t feel right, he feels hurt and betrayed. Why was he reborn as a cat? He understands why Luna was, but why him, he showed nothing but devotion and loyalty to the Queen. Did he really not mean anything to her or does she really know best and knows that Artemis’ fate is ultimately inconsequential to the rise of the new kingdom?
This conflict within him is a major part of his growth as a character, learning to unwind and truly rethink what being human means through the girls and especially through Mina.
Regarding their relationship, I really do not ship Luna and Artemis. Through the majority of the first arc Luna is left in the dark by him and lead to make decisions that ultimately will cause the girls more harm than good. They are coworkers at best and even after stuff get a lil cleared out, Luna still holds a huge resentment toward him never really gets resolved (in my hc, Luna doesn’t live past the 2nd season, sorry, ik, I love her too).
This is long I know , sorry. LOL, but hopefully it clears some things up and of course all I write int his asks is still a draft, so stuff might change.
