The fact that Izaya started being obsessed with knifes from the accident with Shinra, and now that he’s adult he is the master of knifes because he needed to know how to control and have power on something that traumatised him and he couldn’t handle in the past
nooo babe don't start rereading the entirety of durarara for the fifth time and making stupid memes because you don't know how else to cope with your brainrot you're so sexy aha
I wanted to type up this like, long heartfelt post because these two make me insane in the membrane. I love them platonic and romantic both because either way at the core of their relationship there is a tragedy of two people who could've been inseparable, and then separated.
And I think it's a TRAVESTY that they didn't animate the breakdown Izaya had at the thought of Shinra dropping him. It makes the scene where Shinra waxes poetic about Izaya being fragile in the last arc make sense the way it just doesn't in the anime.
I dont think anything speaks on my thoughts better than my Actual thoughts during my last Durarara phase so! Have the raw screenshots :] ft. Friends
Maybe izaya is so obssessed with the boundary between monster and human and its definition because his highschool crush fell in love with a monster instead of him, a human being. Let that sink in
izaya pining over guys who almost definitely don’t like him back (shinra because he’s hopelessly in love with celty, and shizuo’s self-explanatory lol)
Honestly, I love the idea that Shinra’s “just as messed up” as Izaya, whether as an au/fic idea or canon interpretation. He himself keeps saying “oh Izaya you’re crazy haha you’re such a bad person” and yet in my opinion he’s just as bad, only he chooses to keep his thoughts to himself.
Basically Raijin days Shinzaya being close friends and Shizuo finding them really creepy is an underused gem.
