if dorian didn't show up, do you think louis would have shot minnie?
I do. I know some people think either he wouldn't have or he would've missed so that's why the writers had him shoot Dorian instead, but mmmmmm no, I don't personally think so. I like to think that if he had taken the shot, his shaky hands would've caused him to shoot her fatally.
Mostly because I'm already so normal about the fact that of the Ericson crew, Marlon and Louis are the only ones with a body count. Well, that we know of, but shown to us in the game, at least. Plus, we know it's Louis' first kill.
Like yeah, Clementine and AJ become part of the crew and they have bigger body counts, and if we're counting indirect kills caused by actions, then Tenn has a count... and I guess everyone has blood on their hands for blowing up the boat... but I'm talking about killed directly with a weapon like....... I lied, I'm not normal about that at all, Louis and Marlon are the ones who have killed someone in Louis' route. I'm also not normal about the fact that Louis kills Dorian and then even as he's clearly in shock, he tries to go with Clementine to get AJ, and then later on when they talk about it, he says it feels like bile but not quite and he's glad he has it in him to do it.... listen, listen, listen... I'm obsessed with that.
Anyway, so if Louis shot Minerva, I think he would've accidentally killed her and can you imagine? He's already enough of a mess after killing the woman who pinned him down and tried to cut his finger off [or succeeded] but he knew Minerva, they were friends before the twins were taken. Even Violet couldn't kill her even though that would've been the smarter thing to do, and we know thanks to meta knowledge that killing her would've saved lives, but Violet couldn't, and I don't think Louis would intentionally either.
Speaking of Violet, if Louis killed Minerva, I hate to think about what that would've done to Vi. I think she might've actually left at that point, like what was planned before it got changed to her being burned. I don't think she would've attacked Louis over it, though, like yeah she attacked Clementine in the cell but Louis? I don't know, but I don't think so just because it's Louis and he'd be a mess about it anyway.
Though if he did kill her, it would be a neat parallel to draw... y'know, because Louis forgave AJ for killing Marlon even though he was pissed and heartbroken, and Violet was annoyed with him the entire time... but could she ever forgive Louis for killing Minerva? Y'know? We already have a similar parallel with AJ shooting Tenn, but still.
If Clementine killed Minerva in that moment, though, then I could see Violet attacking her since in her eyes, Clem proved her right.
So yeah, I get why they added the Dorian kill to his route. It adds another compelling element to Louis as a character, but we also need Minerva alive for episode 4; Louis can't kill her, he can't miss, and he's not going to stay with her because we need Violet to stay on the boat and him to be on shore for all routes.

Hey Stitch! If Aang and Kanto were both competing for Toph's affection who do you think she'd choose?
Hi Ronin! Thanks for the ask! :D
And oof hitting me with the tough questions—
I think it's a surprise to no one that my attention for Toph ships has turned to Kantoph only at this point LOL. And while I'd pick Kanto for selfish reasons, I do think there are reasons why Toph would pick Kanto (the Kanto with the characterization that Twinkles and I have developed over the years) over Aang.
In the event that Kanto and Aang show their affections for Toph at the same time, I think Toph would choose Kanto because:
Partly, I'd say it's because there's not this childhood familiarity between them. Aang and Toph have known each other for years, and I think Taang is compelling both from a friendship or a relationship standpoint. Aang was Toph's first real friend, and she values her friendship with him immensely. If Aang began to pursue Toph romantically, I think there's a possibility that she would decline because she doesn't want to ruin their friendship, she is concerned about changing their status quo within the friend group, and/or because she doesn't feel the same way. They've been friends for 10+ years, and she doesn't see him (ha) in that way. With Kanto, there's more to discover, more to learn about him. He's a little more mysterious to Toph, and I think that would excite her a little bit.
Aang's responsibilities would keep him constantly traveling. Toph loves adventure, but I think at a certain point in her life, she'd crave stability and a place she goes home to everyday. She knows that Aang is a free spirit and loves to go with the flow, and I think Toph would eventually dislike that.
Also, I think if Toph was building the Republic City Police Department, she would probably want to stay in the city to see it through. She wants to completely build it from the ground up, and she wouldn't want to split her time between being on the road with Aang and her personal project/career aspirations.
I think Kanto would notice the distress this choice is putting Toph under. He'd realize that she needs time to decide, and he'd give her that space after telling her his feelings. Aang doesn't push her, but I feel like he wouldn't necessarily give her the space to think and choose.
Okay! I think those are like... the main reasons why Toph would pick Kanto. She would probably be mad at both of them for a bit for doing that to her though LOL.
Of course, I still have my Taang AU and they have their lil dunebabies and whatnot, but I think now I just always make AUs with Kantoph since it's my new preference :)
Thanks for the ask, Ronin! Would love to hear your thoughts if you agree or disagree. No wrong answers when it comes to AUs haha!
Hope you have a great day!
......
Send me asks about ATLA or LOK!

I was reading TLC the other day (I love Marissa Meyer) and this might piss a lot of people off but I actually hate Kaider. They'd barely even met each other in the first book and Cinder has at least a semi-idealized version of him no matter how much she claims she's "not like other girls" idolizing him. Their dynamic therefore seems superficial to me for the rest of the first book and even though it does become true love, I also think that Cinder's ending is just kind of sad. She wanted to travel the world and be independent and get away from the pressures of the prejudice against her but just ends up stuck in a palace until she abdicates the throne, and I'm expected to believe she'd be perfectly happy being Empress the rest of her life? I might be missing something here or it might just be personal preference but honestly I just dislike Kaider it makes zero sense to me

i am allergic to talking about Vi and ESPECIALLY Vi and Jinx on tumblr.com because i will start banging my head on the wall sobbing slumping to the ground in anguish. i understand them both so well you guys will never understand.. i spit on the graves of everyone who talks shit about Vi. she is literally the most attractive female character ive ever seen and also one of arcane’s most interesting characters. u guys get only scraps of my thoughts bc i refuse to delve into arcane like i did w previous fandoms because i will get sooo miserable. no sad comics (this is likely a lie) bc it will make me too sad!! i tried to rewatch episode 9 and actually cried.. i was fr praying on silco’s downfall (and it was deserved) but after episode 9 i was literally sniffling choking on tears bc of him. ‘you’re perfect :’))’ SHUT UPPPPPPPPP imagine being a bad horrible ass dad but at least still loving your kids. silco and vi loved jinx/powder so much but they have both done completely irreversible damage to her and tbh life is just like that! jinx isnt the joker for women she is SO MUCH MORE. vi and jinx are for the girlies who know what its like to suffer.. who know what its like to have that undying love for a sibling and who know what its like to be disappointed and what its like to be the disappointment. i promise i can actually have coherent thoughts about this show and make artwork with nuance and detail that isnt just silly doodles of the characters who cause me the least pain but it wont be today.

your unpopular opinion post reminded me that I realized recently that a lot of collei mains tend to prefer sibling cyno, tighnari, and collei - whereas cyno and tighnari mains tend to lean towards cynari with collei as their daughter
there are exceptions ofc, since everyone has different perceptions of the dynamics, but it's such an interesting split and I thought I'd ask if you've ever observed anything similar? :0
thats such an interesting observation! cant say if i have observed anything similar, seeing as i dont really interact w the genshin community at large and havent played the game itself in months, but i see the basis for this as a generalization! in that like, collei mains as ppl who center collei might be more inclined to see her relationship to cynonari as siblingesque i.e. all of them on equal standing, as opposed to their counterparts who might be more inclined to dote on her. theres a kinda fun self projection/almost roleplay aspect in analyzing trends between ppl & the characters they main, its fun
i will say though, i was actually a dedicated tighnari main for the longest time! i did make both a phys + dendro support build for collei, but she was never a mainstay on any of my regular teams, i mostly included her whenever i wanted to see her... a lot of my collei favoritism actually originates From my having been a tighnari main/him being my original favorite; i got invested into fleshing him out and imagining more of his daily life/background and that by necessity meant that collei would be heavily involved. and then i started actually reading the content that involved collei. and then it all went downhill from there

7, 16?
hey i just fully fuckin forgot to answer these meta oc questions. whoops. let's do sal for these!
7. Does your oc have any notable skills or good personality traits? Why did you give them those traits? Why do they exist in-universe?
sal is intelligent and hyperspecialized into her field of study. she reads situations quickly, picking up on small details and catches things that others might have missed. she's remarkably good at avoiding attention and a good runner, having both decent speed and the stamina to keep it up over long distances. she genuinely works to understand people even when she struggles to figure out social intricacies, because if she can at least work out how people tick she can predict reactions to a degree.
i gave her those traits because she was originally a vampire the masquerade nosferatu pc, but in-universe she's an obsessive loner who was bullied incessantly and found her niche QUICK to survive, and then got a job in a field that required her to work with a lot of people daily and really get to know them to be successful, and had to adapt.
16. What aspect(s) of the universe's lore are they connected to? Do they change/add lore to the universe?
HAHA OH BOY. sal is quite literally connected to the fun flesh eating parasitic fungus that kickstarts the plot. she'll be the main vehicle for Lore about it because she's the only one who cares enough to figure anything out about it instead of trying to destroy it.
