Star Trek: Voyager Tsunkatse
SEVEN: Two hours, thirty seven minutes, thirteen seconds. That's how long we've gone without verbal communication. TUVOK: Why is that remarkable? SEVEN: The Doctor encourages me to engage in conversation during awkward silences.

Janeway's brain gets fried by Seven
(Let's all pretend I meant to put "this my brain" instead of "this IS my brain." Derp.)

Janeway: I never realized you thought of me as reckless, Tuvok. Tuvok: A poor choice of words. It was clearly an understatement. Star Trek Voyager - Scientific Method Part 1, 2

Merry Christmas Eve! 😃🎄 My present to you is the final chapter of my Christmas story Yuletide Love. I hope you'll like it and that it will make your holidays even better, brighter and more loving than they already are. ❤🤶 Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year!
Story summary: Seven and Kathryn won't be able to hide their feelings for each other any longer when an ancient Earth Christmas tradition brings them even closer together.
A standalone Christmas story for the holidays of 2023!

I just really want a Voyager episode where Lwaxana Troi shows up - maybe Q poofs her over. Maybe the temporal investigations dude is her new beau, maybe her consciousness gets sent through a subspace anomaly and shes a hologram for a while. w/e. I am just dying for this to have happened at some point.
She would flirt with EVERYONE
She would take Seven under her wing and tell her one cannot learn the deep arts of romance and sexuality from a photonic being who is still learning his own
She would sense all the complicated tension between Janeway and Chakotay and she would delight in investigating it and delving into it and poking at it.
Harry'd probably fall in love with her.
She'd probably try to fix all Neelix's cooking bc leola root offends the fifth house or something.
Definitely borrows Janeway's bathtub and then stroll around her quarters starkers while Kathryn tried really really hard to read some department briefings.
She would sit in Janeway's chair and definitely comment on how theres been like some kinda a secret command console on the other side of KJ this whole time masquerading as an armrest and she and Chakotay just share the middle one for an excuse to bump hands with eachother
Tuvok and she would just thoroughly and shockingly enjoy each other's company. bc they both old compared to all these spry young humans and they have definitey encountered eachother before like these two have gossip to swap. And they've both loved and lost love and she thinks his devotion to his wife is the damn sweetest thing and offers to go visit T'Pel for him or something
Just imagine this is after Voyager gets video calling with the AQ and Lwaxana cant help herself barging into some meeting that Barclay and Deanna are at and shocking her daughter all the way from the Delta Quadrant

Janeway isn't Seven mom. She might call her mommy sometimes when they f*ck, but that's between them and Gd. Tom, Lesbian Protector Tom Paris is her mom, so is Neelix and Tuvok is her space dad.

I'm rewatching Endgame right now and I've completely forgotten the way Admiral Janeway couldn't even talk about Seven when someone from Starfleet Academy brought it up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it's not that Admiral Janeway hasn't had a life, her crew is home and is her family and they've stayed in contact.
Almost everyone's lives have flourished. B'Elanna is the Federation liaison to the Klingon Empire, and so it seemed is Miral.
Except for Tuvok and Chakotay.
Tumblr media
Tuvok's mental illness has progressed to the point he could barely function and Chakotay died the same year this happened... And it feels like Chakotay's death was Admiral Janeway's impetus in going for this plan.
A world without Seven of Nine is a world neither Chakotay nor Admiral Janeway accepts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I first shipped Janeway with Chakotay and was so frustrated when Voyager ended and Janeway/Chakotay never happened when it was so obvious on both their sides.
And then I shipped Janeway and Seven but I could never accept Chakotay/Seven not only because it felt shoehorned but because they barely spent time together but to Jeri Ryan and Robert Beltran's credit they did what they could selling it.
For a first real-life relationship, Seven could do worse than Chakotay. He was respectful and did seem fond of Seven by the time they started dating and was ready to follow Seven at the pace she set.
But I've also come to believe the reason why they were together is because they couldn't be with Kathryn Janeway. In this alternate timeline, I believe Seven and Chakotay did come to love each other enough to marry but also there's an element of guilt involved with Chakotay after alt!Seven died because the person he also and still loved was Janeway. But guilt on Chakotay and Janeway's side prevented them from ever becoming something more.
I also believe Admiral Janeway loved both Chakotay and Seven and didn't want to choose, and their getting married is the safer choice even if it broke her heart because that meant she didn't have to choose and commit.
She'd rather have them both near and alive and untouchable, and in the end, she lost them both.
Honestly, Janeway didn't need to choose.
Anyway, Janeway's time travel adventures might be why my favorite time travel stories are the ones where future versions meet the past versions.
But also the first time Admiral Janeway sees Seven of Nine again, after two decades of not seeing her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hello, Seven."
Admiral Janeway looks like a sailor who hasn't seen the sea for years, or a traveler crossing the desert who has stumbled into an Oasis.
Also, Seven looks so awkward she didn't know how to deal with two Janeways in close proximity to each other.
Please, she's just a poor confused ex-Borg drone taking the smallest steps toward romance.
I do love that amidst this we have scenes between Tom and B'Elanna and how they both called Voyager home. They're the most low-key OTP and I kind of love that for them.
But also, I do love that Admiral Janeway gets to spend a few moments with both Tuvok and Chakotay.
Tumblr media
This moment when Captain Janeway muses on the strangeness of witnessing her future self talking to both Tuvok and Chakotay
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And not knowing how precious this moment is to Admiral Janeway that she can be beside Tuvok, working and still in possession of his mental faculties, and Chakotay laughing and full of life.
Part 1, 2, 3

Ranking Star Trek captains based on how good they are with children:
Kirk - The Worst. He tries if he has to, but he doesn’t like children and he doesn’t know how to handle them. He does NOT want to be a father figure to Charlie in “Charlie X.” He pawns off the children in “And the Children Shall Lead” to Nurse Chapel or Bones whenever he can. In “Miri,” he handles the children by yelling “No blah, blah, blah!” at them and literally throwing one. He also tried to be nice to Miri and ends up coming across as flirtatious to a child. Not good, Jim.
Picard - Okay. Picard doesn’t like children either, and he’s not comfortable especially with younger ones, but he handles them significantly better than Kirk. In true diplomatic Picard fashion, he talks to kids respectfully as full people. He does a good job keeping the kids calm and on task in “Disaster,” he gives good life advice to Wesley throughout the series, and his individual interactions with children are stilted but fine. Picard also just has a father-figure aura, whether he likes it or not.
Janeway - Good. Finally someone who can act natural around kids. Janeway isn’t heavily involved with children; she isn’t a parent like Tuvok, and she isn’t as involved with the Borg kids as Seven. She likes children, though, interacts well with them, and has sweet interactions with Naomi Wildman (who she makes a blanket for!).
Sisko - The Best. Picard may have father-figure energy, but Sisko has DAD energy. This man loves children. He loves his son and supports his interests any way he can. He loves babies - just LOOK at his face light up every time he holds one. He’d play catch with you. If Sisko wasn’t the captain of a space station, he’d probably run a little league team.
