Azure Week 2023 "Reunion" Fanmix

Possible songs; love 'em? Hate 'em? Let me know!

I've got 27 songs that fit this year's primary theme of "reunion" and/or our seven themes:

I tried to get songs from either Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters' original 2000-2004 run, or from the last year (2022-2023).

And because I suck at musical discovery, I had to ask AI (Claude.ai, Bing Chat, and GPT-4+plugins) to help me out. 😆 Of course, I listened (or already know) almost all of the below songs, and think they somehow either fit Seto Kaiba, Anzu Mazaki/Téa Gardner, or their relationship in line with this year's themes.

Announcing Azure Week 2023

You ever spend so much time looking for a GIF or a video that you feel would be perfect for a post, only to, you know, NOT FIND IT? And you could spend time trying to make it yourself or dig deeper to really find it (because it's the Internet, it's got to be out there somewhere), but then you realize: what's the point? It's just an ACCESSORY to the post?

Yeah. That's this post.

I wanted to do the whole "I'm back, I'm bold, maybe even beautiful" from the DiC dub of Sailor Moon (I guess it was episode 45 of the dub, but 51 of the original series; the dub title was "Cherry Blossom Time," and I really, really wanted a GIF or video of Sailor Moon rising from the ground and giving her amazing speech), even though AZURE WEEK is coming up and has nothing to do with Sailor Moon whatsoever (unless you want it to).

(I wanted to post it because Tumblr had deleted my account for inexplicable reasons and I only recently got it restored. Whew!)

Anyway:

Azure Week 2023 kicks off September 16! The overarching theme this year is "Reunion," with individual themes/prompts to help inspire your Azureshipping fanworks.

Azure Week celebrates the pairing of Seto Kaiba x Anzu Mazaki/Téa Gardner from the late, great Kazuki Takahashi's hit series Yu-Gi-Oh! It runs annually from September 16-22, right in-between the birthdays of Anzu Mazaki (August 18) and Seto Kaiba (October 25).

Azure Week 2022 is almost here!

The countdown is on!

Azure Week 2022 starts on September 16.

I'm working on getting all of the parts of the Azure Week 2022 page live on the Blue Eyes and Apricots fanlisting, but in the meantime, here are the seven "dual" themes we're using this year, with the overarching theme "City Living" —

Azure Week 2022, Sims Style (Part 2)

Remember @sharksmirk's amazing art for #azureweek2020? I sure do! It inspired the above artwork for this year's theme "Car Ride." While I couldn't QUITE replicate Anzu's style of sunglasses or pose, I did my best with a cute pose and a CAR (!!!!) in The Sims 4.

Funny story: initially I was trying to do all this posing inside an empty room I'd made in a starter home in San Myshuno. It... did not go well. I ended up moving to an empty lot in Sulani for this shot, though you probably can't tell! 😂

I'm quite new at this Sims screenshot thing, so forgive the not-so-great lighting. I'm also on a Mac, so I don't have access to the ReShaders and other tools that some folks use. Suggestions for up-to-date, must-have mods welcomed and appreciated!

I wanted to try and recreate that in the Sims 4 for Azure Week 2022, so here's my attempt at that.

I originally did make something of an effort to have a sunset background with palm trees like in Sharksmirk's art, but then I edited it out because of the style of Sims 4 box art that I'm going for! 😂 Oops/Sorry?!

I have to check a bunch of my mods/cc now though, because something I've introduced recently is preventing me from doing detail edit in CAS. If anyone knows of any specific type of mod/CC that tends to do this (or simply having too many subfolders in the Mods folder?!) please let me know!

This is three images down, four to go... or possibly 11, if I do a different piece of art for each "dual" theme! 😱 We'll see what happens.

Azure Week 2022 START!

Here's my initial contribution for Azure Week 2022—inspired by The Sims 4 expansion pack "City Living," I present two of the seven themes for the week: "City Lights" and "Summer Lovin'" respectively.

It's the L A S T • D A Y of Azure Week 2022!

😱😱😱 How is it the 22nd already!? I'm going to try and churn out the remaining theme images I've been creating in The Sims 4. Here's the flip side (the "dual" nature, if you will 😆) of theme 3: summer lovin'... winter blues.

This took me longer than I wanted, because I had a hard time getting the angles right for Seto and Anzu. Even now, it's not "perfect," as if the two of them are on either side of the same wall or door, but it's pretty close, and I hope you get the idea I was trying to convey here, with both of them thinking they've been "left [out] in the cold."

With Azure Week 2022 ending today, I'll try and do as many themes as I can, but I think reflection/blind and dream/nightmare might be easier than victory/defeat (I wish someone could take the old Yu-GiOh! dueling Sims 2—or was it 3?—pose pack and update it for The Sims 4!) or epiphany/ignorance.
