Did you know Senator Kelly had a mutant daughter in the X-Men movies? She showed up in the promotional film The Mutant Watch and started stretching uncontrollably after Kelly had given an anti-mutant speech.
I'm going to explore her story in my upcoming fanfic A Life in the Day looking at how Mystique put Kelly's family back together while fighting anti-mutant initiatives in Washington.

Really only two who I can’t identify, and one of them, I’ve seen before. I’m going to look it up, but that would be cheating, so I’m not including that post-post lookup. The woman next to Pyro, over Sabertooth’s shoulder in the purple mask, I know I’ve seen her before and i should remember her name, but I don’t. The other is the woman standing between Sebastian Shaw and Donald Pierce, who I just realized is Selene. So there’s only one I can’t identify. ... ... ...I know way too much about the X-Men considering that it wasn’t ever really my favorite comic book. Was always more an Avengers and JLA comic reader...even FF before X.
I take it back. There is another character I can’t identify. Over Stryker’s shoulder, the woman in the hood with the headband and the hoop earrings.
So, I spoke too soon. There are still two people I can’t ID in this group shot. Helluva nice one. If you like it go to Etsy and buy yourself a copy.

The Uncanny X-Men #158 - The Life That Late I Led...
The X-Men and Starjammers are on Magneto's abandoned island near the Bermuda Triangle. The island is now the X-Men's headquarters since the destruction of Xavier's mansion.
Carol trains with the Starjammers as Dr. Corbeau and Moira MacTaggart watch, analyzing Carol's "bio-telemetry." Peter, Illyana, and Kitty are relaxing. Kitty thinks about how much she enjoys being around Peter. She thinks of telling Ororo how she feels about him. Carol asks Moira how the Professor is doing. Moira says there's been no change. Nightcrawler comes in and says Lilandra is asking for Moira.
In a different room, the Professor is lying in bed. Oracle, the Shi'ar telepath, is attempting to form a psychic rapport with the Professor.
Inside Xavier's mind is a psychic war. The Professor is battling a predatory, alien presence. Again, we see a Brood-ish figure inside the Professor's mind (see last ish). The Professor senses Oracle, takes control of her, and tries to make her kill him. Moira is shocked that the Professor would do this. Wolverine slashes at a field of energy connecting Oracle to Xavier, severing that connection and saving Xavier. Kitty phases through the wall and says someone is talking about the X-Men on TV.
On TV is US Senator Robert Kelly, and he's spewing a BUNCH of hatred about mutants. Kelly says that mutants are dangerous and need to be investigated. Moira tells the X-Men that the Professor worked with the US Government when he formed the X-Men. She suspects the government would have files on the original team and the current members. She thinks those files should be destroyed. The team starts planning...
Meanwhile, far, far west Scott and Christopher Summers show up at Alex and Lorna's home. Scott introduces Alex to their father.
And we're right back to the X-Men's plan - Storm, Wolverine, and Carol arrive at the Pentagon, dressed undercover in Canadian Armed Forces uniforms. They're miraculously able to enter the Pentagon, and they start searching for the prime data bank. They soon run into a woman that Carol calls "Rogue." This is the woman that stole Carol's powers back in Avengers Annual #10! Wolverine tries to tackle Rogue, but she kisses him which puts him into a coma. Carol gets a gun off a nearby soldier and shoots Rogue, but the bullets are completely harmless to her. Storm blows Rogue away with powerful wind. Nearby, a woman is watching all this. It's Raven Darkholme, the Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency aka Mystique, leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants (see X-Men #141, 142)!
Storm wonders if they've happened upon a Brotherhood attack at the Pentagon or if perhaps the Brotherhood is working for the US Government. Either way, she's not looking forward to the rest of this mission. Storm, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler chase after Rogue and fight with her. Ultimately, Storm blows Rogue far away with a tornado.
Meanwhile, Carol gets access to the Pentagon data bank, also called SISO to find out what information the government has on the X-Men and herself. Mystique follows Carol and shape-shifts into Nick Fury. "Nick" walks behind Carol as Carol reaches a computer. Carol turns around and asks what he's doing there. "Nick" shoots Carol! But Carol survives somehow and tackles "Nick" to the ground. "Nick" shape-shifts into Storm and then into Mystique. More soldiers show up and Carol demands that they take Mystique into custody, which they do. The soldiers take Mystique away. Carol finds and deletes the Pentagon’s files on the X-Men. She finds her own file and deletes it too. Carol meets the rest of the team outside the Pentagon.

The time has come for Rogue and Domino to break up in "Battle Lines," another heart-breaking banger of an episode from Wolverine and the X-Men.
Maddy sides with Magneto (as usual) on this week's episode, while Ryan deals with his disappointment over his boyfriend Logan's behavior on this show. It's weird to see Wolverine so flustered and out of his depth.
Meanwhile, Cyclops is kinda cool now? The visit to Mr. Sinister's lab put a rebel streak in Scott, and we gotta admit, we like it. He does need to learn how to close his damn eyes, though.

The Uncanny X-Men #142 - Mind out of Time!
In the Senate building it’s X-Men VS Brotherhood and there’s fire, teleporting, stuff blowing up, lots of adamantium, and a big whirlwind/tornado-looking thing.
Angel flies Kitty/Kate away from the battle.
Moira asks Charles what’s going on and Charles knows that the future Kate Pryde is in Kitty’s mind - she’s telling the truth about the future. A police officer arrives to escort Charles and Moira away from the Senate. But it isn’t a police officer! It’s Mystique! Mystique sprays the Professor and Moira with nerve gas and they’re both unconscious. Mystique decides to keep Charles as a hostage. She asks Destiny how the future looks, but Destiny says there is an anomaly in the time stream and she is unable to see far into the future.
Meanwhile, back in 2013...
Wolverine, Storm, Colossus (carrying Kate Pryde), and Rachel avoid a group of Sentinels. Wolverine and Storm decide to attack the Sentinels’ main headquarters, the Baxter Building (anyone out there familiar with that building?!). Storm hits a Sentinel guarding the building with a bolt of lightning. Rachel remains behind to protect Kate while Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus enter the building. They all wonder what’s taking Kate so long in the past, and they realize that their present may not change at all and Kate may only create a new alternate timeline for everyone in the past...
Back in 1980...
The X-Men/Brotherhood battle rages on in the Senate building. Well... not IN the building for long because Storm creates hurricane force winds and blows everyone outside. The battle continues and soon the US Army joins in. Not knowing who is good and who is bad, they fire at everyone, hitting Colossus right in the chest. The Army uses flamethrowers which is a huge mistake because Pyro uses the flames to create two huge fire monsters that join the fight. Colossus and Wolverine successfully knock out the Blob, Storm creates a huge monsoon to put out Pyro’s fires, and Nightcrawler punches... himself? Oh, it’s Mystique.
Nightcrawler is surprised that he and Mystique have blue skin and look so similar. Mystique calls Nightcrawler by his full name, Kurt Wagner, and says that he is not as unique as he once thought. Nightcrawler asks how she knows his name, and Mystique tells him to ask his mother about that.
Mystique flees the scene. The Army has the Blob, Pyro, and Avalanche in custody (for now). The X-Men decide to get find Charles and Moira and leave as well when they suddenly realize Kate and Destiny are missing!
In 2013...
Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus reach the top of the Baxter Building and find one of the lead Sentinels at a computer. Colossus throws Wolverine to the Sentinel’s head, but the Sentinel turns around quickly and blasts Wolverine with some fire from his hands, leaving only an adamantium skeleton on the floor. Wolverine is gone.
Storm flies into the air and hits the Sentinel with a lightning strike. More Sentinels show up. Storm is hit with a sharp javelin through her stomach, and she is dead. Colossus is furious and punches a Sentinel right out of the building.
On the street below, Sentinels approach Rachel and Kate and all seems lost...
In 1980...
Destiny has cornered Senator Kelly, pointing a crossbow at him. Kelly warns her that his death will not accomplish anything except make the public fear mutants. Destiny doesn't care. She fires the crossbow, but at the exact same time, Kate phases through Destiny’s body, causing Destiny’s aim to be off. Kelly is alive, the crossbow bolt lodging itself into the wall behind him.
Suddenly Kate’s reality twists inside out and she’s just Kitty again as Kate returns to her own time stream. Storm arrives and picks up Kitty. Kitty can’t remember anything since blacking out in the Danger Room (see issue #141). Kelly asks who the young girl is, and Storm says it’s the young girl who just saved his life. She says that Kelly would do well to remember that before condemning all mutants. Charles and Moira arrive, and they’re ok. The whole team leaves on Angel’s private plane.
Angel asks if they succeeded in changing the future, and the Professor does not know, saying only time will tell...
EPILOGUE:
Senator Kelly and Sebastian Shaw (for more on THAT relationship, see issue #135) meet with the President in the White House. They discuss developing an operation called “Project Wideawake” where Shaw Industries will develop a new series of Sentinels that will deal with mutants. The project will be led by another man in the room, Henry Gyrich...

So let me get this straight. Two days after the Democrats win a 51 seat majority thanks to Warnock, she goes "lol I'm an independent now" and leaves the party. While still "promising" to caucus with Democrats, so... what. What is the play here. She wants even more attention, or....? Wants to screw up outright Democratic control instead of power-sharing? WHAT?
Anyway, on the one hand it's good that she's not even pretending to be a Democrat any more, but on the other hand, I am so sick of her useless ass. Can Ruben Gallego (or like, anyone who LITERALLY ACTUALLY IS A DEMOCRAT!) primary her in 2024 and then we never have to hear about her again. Please.
