I can see a Selkie!Y/N getting the urge to slip into their skin on occasion and the boys having a moment to gush over their seal form sunbathing on the deck. Playing games like tag, snickering when Y/N attempts to communicate with seal calls (EGGGG), and of course, lots of pets and cuddles.

Thinking now of a tag @dark-elf-writes wrote on my mini Drabble: the playfulness of something serious and needing trust.

Cause it’s true. The situation between Melody and Alex is something serious. Melody is a Selkie whom trusts Alex with her skin. The bond between them is a strong one of friendship and care. But it’s one Alex does not diminish or ignore.

Melody’s freedom can be taken away. Alex knows what it means that she trusts them with her skin. That she trusts them to give it back.

In some of their lonelier moments, they wonder if it means more. If Melody ever looked at them how they looked at her. They brushed it off.

She trusts them. She trusts them to hold her skin and give it back. She trusts them not to consider keeping it.

She trusts them not to feel romantic feelings and so they will. Even if it hurts.

On the flip side, Melody trusts Alex and wouldn’t mind romantic feelings. She cares for them, loves them in a way few others could understand (she’s not human. She’s a selkie and it matters).

Her skin is the most precious thing for her. The most sacred. Her will power given physical form. Those who hold and keep it can make her do anything. Alex gives it back. Alex creates a bond with her that isn’t platonic. It’s not and she can tell.

But she’s scared to. Her mother had burned her skin after her first husband (Josh’s father and oh does her brother hate him) made the mistake of taunting her it was in the house where she couldn’t find it.

A selkie will do anything to be free. Including burning down the house it was in, destroying it. She could not go back to the ocean. But her mother was free.

Melody loves Alex. But she’s so damn scared because of her mother’s stories and because…

What if it ruins their relationship? What if Alex doesn’t feel the same way and the bond is just from Melody?

She loves oh does she love them.

But she’s so scared.

They have their ritual and the others know how serious it is. They know what it means so they lighten the mood with ridiculous behaviour in an attempt to help them. It’s laughter and soothing and the one time an asshole tried to steal the skin they all came down hard.

Yet these two, tangled up in trust and love, don’t say a word in fear.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG

Have I been procrastinating? Yes. Anyway, I wanted to make an info graphic type thing that shows how all of my books are related.

I belatedly realized I didn’t include the two short stories or combined volumes I have, so oh no, I’ll have to make another one in the future.

FARM AU BITCHES

When i showed my friend Moon (the one who kidnapped him a bit ago) was immediately offended because they also simp for bloodmoon (and are making me simp as well by sending me hot pics of him) and they hissed at me a bunch.

Moon takes care of the orchards n shit, Sun takes care of the animals, and Eclipse tames new animals, especially if theyre more defiant, and also lets people hire them to tame other animals

Mcs parents are trying to buy the land, the three refuse, meanwhile mc accidentally falls in love with the three farmers. Ohhh noooooo, whhhat a tragedyyyy

Sun is holding a selkie chicken who is named Angel. Do not trust Angel, she is the least trustworthy chicken they have

So if selkie mc is kinda like a seal??.... in their little seal form, what if when they first meet the Skelton crew, they start slapping their belly in self defense XD

Seals do that to intimidate others! So imagine all of them come across mc like that TwT

Sans: Man can not take you seriously. Who tf made you that cute cause he wants to shake their hand. Look at you... being so rotund and yelling at him. He knows that seals can be incredibly dangerous, but also they basically look like a puppies. He's inching closer all while acting like he isn't. What do you mean he's been moving over to you everytime you look away?

Papyrus: Oh. My. Gawd. SAURRRRR CYUTE. Papyrus doesn't like to disturb the wildlife though, and you seemed angry... he'll leave you alone.

Blue: Touch... Blue is undeterred. He's a meathead and super strong. He can take a few seal bites. He'll be like a kid holding a front as he lifts your blubbery self above his head and rushes back to the ship to show everyone.

Stretch:

Red: Red will laugh whole heartedly at how angry you look and are. He wants to give you so many pets and cuddle you! Alas, he'll sit a comfortable distance away while grinning at you.

Edge: You are so cute. He is going to die. Edge leaves instantly so that he can collect himself. He'll let the rest of the crew fawn over you, and if someone ends up successfully petting you, he's next. No questions asked.

Razz: Ew... creature. Cute but also, gross. Get away pls.

Cash: C'MERE LEMME ROLL YOU. Bro is CHASING you. He wanna touch. Will back off if you start biting him. It horts :(

Bear: Cute... but that's it, he'll leave you alone.

Cinnamon: He's the one friend who wants to pet your cat so bad, but your cat needs space. He'll sit a distance away from you and slowly begin inching closer while not making eye contact. He will cry if you bite him for touching you.

Hey since @dark-elf-writes got me thinking of Astoria I was reminded of an old AU where the MC was a selkie.

Here’s a short I wrote for it, couple with adding OCs because it’s an office setting and we needed coworkers. The premise is that Selkies can enter an ‘arrangement’ where if they give and then receive their skin back but don’t do the hanky-panky with the one who gave back their skin they are safe for a while from having their skin stolen. It doesn’t ‘count’.

Giving away the skin

The first time Melody and Alex had done the exchange it had been after three weeks of debate and seven reassurances from both sides. However, in the end it was the safest option. Alex taking her skin and giving it back made her safe. It made it impossible for anyone to control her. Sure, every five months they had to do it again, but it was better than someone getting it and using it against her.

It was a very important affair that took place in Alex’s office, the younger of the two handing her boss her skin- which took the form of a lovely jacket- and Alex taking it and then handing it back solemnly.

The next time was much the same.

The third time was in a crisis point for the office where Melody just chucked her skin at Alex and Alex chucked it back before running off.

That got looks.

“Are you and Cyprin dating?” Suzan asked, wrinkling her nose after the crisis was done. She voice was a little judgemental and Melody flashed her a scowl the taller woman returned.

“No. We do a temporary bond to keep me from having my skin stolen and being forced to bond with people.” answered Melody flatly. Suzan blinked but then gave a nod and that was all from her. Which was weird given she usually poked and prodded at Melody to get reactions from her. However it seemed like she was aware it was an important subject and simply did not wish to bug her about it.

The teasing started the fourth time when Alex simply picked the jacket off the back of Melody’s chair and handed it to her.

“C’mon Cyprin!” Jeff called out, his British accent very thick given his lack of sleep over the last few days of translating something for one of the heroes. “Give your wife a better show!”

“Shut up Jeff.” his wife told him, Candice smacking his shoulder and going back to her own work.

That did set the tone for the next time. Mandy had burst out into fake sobs and said, in a very mocking tone,

“It’s so beautiful, so touching. So magical.”

Melody wasn’t sure who brought the cake the sixth time. It was good cake. But she could do without the wedding figures on top of it.

The seventh time, Alex had been dared to do it in a very dramatic fashion after a night of drinks with the rest of the office. They had done so, dropping to one knee and dramatically offering Melody her skin.

She in return had taken it and acted like a fainting damsel.

She was pretty sure it was May and Mandy who threw the rice.

It really set the mood for the rest of the times. Melody didn’t mind. It made it a fun occasion rather than a nerve-wracking one. And well… the cake was always nice.

Another Random headcanon for Ominis and Percival; if Ominis is in a disagreement with someone and Percival takes the other person's side. Ominis says "As my future husband you have to agree with me."

"...as your future husband?" Cocky smirk

"As... my... I have to go." Ominis flustered walks away.

For those new shipmates not familiar with the Captain Swan Supernatural Summer, this is an event I created back in 2018 to address the woeful lack of Werewolf Killian fics. And we have succeeded many times over!!! The event is open to everyone. The only requirement is the fic or artwork has to be CS focused and supernatural in nature. In past years we’ve had werewolf, vampire, fae, selkie, soulmate, shapeshifter, witch, ghost, and many, many others!! 

All of the past years fics can be found on ao3 here.

Any fic length is fine, from a 100 word Drabble to a 250,000 word epic MC. Any rating is fine. Any type of artwork is fine, from using traditional mediums of paint and drawing, to digital artwork to videos to gifs. Artists can elect to do their own original artwork and/or they can be paired with a fic writer to do artwork for the fic being written. And we certainly hope to have enough artists sign up that we can pair every author with an artist that wants to be paired. So please! SPREAD THE WORD!!!
