“You’re staring,” Ominis murmured before letting out a quiet sigh. “Again.”
“She’s talking to Weasley,” Sebastian muttered back, his arms folded across his chest.
“Which one?” he asked, a wry smile slipping into his face. Ominis didn’t need to be able to see to know Sebastian was glaring at him.
“Garreth, you prat.” A brief silence fell over the pair as Sebastian continued to watch the interaction between Y/N and Garreth Weasley. Y/N threw her head back and laughed at something Garreth said, and Sebastian felt something in his chest tighten as the sun caught on the natural highlights hidden in her hair. “He can’t be that funny.” Garreth muttered something to Y/N and she turned in his direction to catch his eye. He felt every nerve in his body as she smiled sweetly at him and waved her fingers to say hello before looking back at the wizard in front of her. “He’s just using her.”
“How can you be so sure?” Ominis’ eyebrows shot up in surprise as he turned his head to look at Sebastian (he hoped he was, at least).
“Isn’t everyone?” Sebastian asked. Ominis had been there with him that fateful day in the bathrooms. They had both heard what had been said, had both heard the chorus of laughter and agreement that followed.
“Everyone but you, you mean.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Ominis,” he looked away from Y/N to narrow his eyes at his friend beside him. “You’re not using her either.”
“Aren’t I?” Ominis asked. There was a beat of silence between them before he laughed loudly at the lack of response from the brunet, and he could almost picture the incredulous look being shot his way.
Sebastian would blame the sun, he decided, if anyone asked why he was frowning in your direction. It had come out today, and the trio had taken advantage of the warmth it provided to sit in the gardens by the north entrance for the castle. It seemed they hadn’t been the only ones to have the idea and it wasn’t long before Y/N had leapt from her position in the grass next to him to greet Natsai Onai and the red-clad gaggle that seemed to follow. Sebastian couldn’t help but begrudge Natty (who was a wonderful witch despite being in Gryffindor) from stealing you away from him. He had been content with your arm pressed against his, your legs touching as you stretched out beside him, head almost resting on his shoulder as you watched the clouds drift by.
Ominis twirled his wand idly in his hands, the sensor pulsing every-so-often to let him know Sebastian was still brooding beside him. Although he didn’t need it to, because if he listened carefully he could hear Sebastian mutter to himself occasionally as he more than likely watched Y/N from across the gardens. It wasn’t loud enough for Ominis to hear everything he was saying, but he did manage to catch phrases such as stupid Gryffindors and was just going to hold her hand. The latter made Ominis snort in amusement. Sebastian had been working up the courage to admit his feelings for the third member of their little group since the beginning of their sixth year, and now here they were nearing the end of their seventh and final year.
He had tried to tell Sebastian - time and time again - that there was nothing to fear and that he strongly suspected you returned his feelings, but he refused to listen. Ominis wouldn’t outright betray your trust and inform Sebastian of the late night conversations they shared where you voiced your concerns for the brunet, voice tinged with more than just friendly admiration. Instead, he subtly tried to push the pair together with flimsy excuses to explain his perpetual absence. Not that it did any good when either of you refused to acknowledge the Erumpent in the room.
It could be worse, he mused, I could actually have to witness the pining between them, instead of just hearing about it.
“Get up,” Sebastian nudged Ominis gently and stood up. “Come on.”
“Where are we going?”
“We’re going to save Y/N,” Sebastian replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Y/N doesn’t need saving,” Ominis rolled his eyes, but stood up nonetheless, brushing grass from his robes. “In fact, I need to remind you that she has saved us. Several times.”
“Well, call this us returning the favour,” he tugged Ominis in the right direction softly before letting go of his robes and stalking over to where Y/N and Garreth were sat talking, set a little apart from the rest of the Gryffindors. “Y/N…Weasley.” He nodded once at the wizard and came to a stop right next to Y/N. Ominis, wand held aloft, offered the ground an awkward smile. “I can’t believe you left us for a bunch of Gryffindors,” he looked down at her, forcing a chuckle so he didn’t start an inter-house fight. “Are we not enough for you?”
“Don’t start,” Y/N laughed and rolled her eyes at him. “Garreth was just telling me about his newest potion idea.”
“Planning on getting her into more trouble by making her sneak into Sharp’s office for supplies again?” The comment earned Sebastian a nudge in the ribs from Y/N, but Garreth chuckled and shook his head.
“Actually, I was hoping Y/N would accompany me to the Forbidden Forest soon to gather some ingredients.”
“Not man enough to go it alone?” Sebastian nodded thoughtfully. The tips of Garreth’s ears were tinged pink as he looked between the three of them, before an easygoing smile fell across his features.
“Is that why you keep asking her to join you on trips to spider caves?” Ominis let a laugh slip out at Garreth’s words, and Sebastian shot him a glare for it. Y/N shuffled nervously on her feet between them all, sensing some tension simmering under the surface. She wasn’t sure why they were both standing there, chests puffed out, and had a feeling she didn’t want to know. The only one who didn’t seem to be stancing was Ominis, who looked just as out of place as she felt.
“I don’t mind going into the forest,” Y/N supplied quietly. Two pairs of eyes shot her way, and Ominis looked a little to her left. “I mean, I need to go anyway. Ms Bugbrooke asked me to go and check in on a unicorn she named Hazel and find a way to keep her safe.”
“I thought we were going to go do that this weekend?” Sebastian asked.
“You could all go,” Ominis supplied. He could feel Y/N relax from beside him, her hand reaching between their robes to squeeze his arm in gratitude. “Saves for multiple trips to the forest.”
“I don’t think that’s wise,” Sebastian frowned, crossing his arms. Garreth gave them all a half-hearted smile and shrugged.
“You let me know, Y/N. I’ve got to get to Charms, I can’t be late again or Ronen will tell my aunt,” he shuddered at the thought and waved goodbye to the three of them before turning to walk away. Y/N offered Garreth a forced smile as he left and waited until he was well out of earshot before whirling around to face Sebastian and hit him with her glove.
“What was that?”
“What was what?”
“Don’t play dumb, Sebastian. It doesn’t become you.”
“Sweetheart, everything becomes me,” he sent her a cocky grin, his body language loosening now that Garreth was gone. “Do you want me to walk you - both of you - to class?” He bent down to pick up her discarded bag and slung it over his shoulder.
“Don’t change the subject,” she sighed in annoyance, her eyes narrowing. “You always seem to do this whenever I’m speaking to someone.”
“I don’t do it to Poppy, Natty, Imelda, or Ominis.”
“Please, leave me out of this,” Ominis muttered, looking away from them as they began to walk to the castle for class. Even though he knew he couldn’t see it, Sebastian still shot his friend a look as if to say way to back me up, help me out here and hoped he would get the message. The trio walked in silence until they passed the History of Magic classroom.
“Why don’t you let me talk to any of our classmates?”
“You’re talking to me, aren’t you? And you speak to Ominis all the time,” Sebastian gestured at his friend, who cringed internally at being brought back into this. He hoped if he kept silent that they would forget he was there, and perhaps he could sneak off and make it to class on his own. Not that it would do much good - he shared his next class with Y/N, and Sebastian was sure to follow. They had overheard a conversation between her, Imelda, Poppy and Natty about the chivalrous actions some of the wizards at the school took to get the attention of the witches and which ones in particular seemed to charm the girls the most. Ever since then Sebastian had held her school bag and walked her to every class.
“Stop trying to be charming, Sebastian. I’m annoyed at you.”
“You think I’m charming?” Sebastian grinned down at her, earning a quiet whack as she hit him with her glove again. “Why are you so violent today?”
“Why are you so bothersome today?” she shot back. Ominis smiled to himself and walked a little faster. As much as he enjoyed hearing Y/N rip into Sebastian, he did not want to get caught in the middle.
Y/N wrapped her arms around herself, trying to fight the chill that lingered in the stone walls after the warmth they had felt outside. Sebastian had been acting differently lately. Some days he was attentive, almost sweet; others like today, he was a nuisance, plain and simple. She never knew who she was going to get - the man who greeted her with coffee and a smile in the mornings, his hand lingering on hers after he handed her the mug, or the sulking mass walking by her. Her eyes fell on his back, watching as his muscles rippled through the white shirt, at her bag hanging on his shoulder.
He never aimed that gruffness in her direction, she realised. Even now, he was holding her bag for her and looked over his shoulder to see if she was still with them, a breathtaking smile falling on his face when he caught her eye. It was only ever when one of their male classmates spoke to her, standing a little too close that he began to act out, and despite his protests that she spoke to Ominis, she had seen him do it with him too. It was to a lesser scale, but even this morning he had placed himself between the pair as they all sat in the sun, his shoulder pressed against hers.
“Why won’t you let me speak to any men?” the words slipped out of her mouth before she could process them. Sebastian came to a stop and looked at her in confusion. She was vaguely aware of Ominis slowing as well from in front of them, a low groan escaping from him.
“What?”
“That conversation you were having with Garreth wasn’t exactly pleasant, and it’s not the first time this has happened.” Sebastian watched as she twisted her fingers together nervously and longed to take her hand in his. “Don’t you want me to be happy?”
“You think Weasley is going to make you happy?” Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
“I-I don’t know! But how am I meant to find out when you keep…”
“When I keep…?” His casual tone infuriated Y/N, and judging by the amusement in his eye and the twitch in the corner of his mouth, he knew it.
“When you keep acting so possessive!”
“Maybe I’m just a good judge of character and know none of those simpering idiots who keep coming over are enough for you.”
“Enough for me - ” Ire flared at his words and she gave him a withering look. “You have some nerve, Sebastian Sallow. And you,” she glared at Ominis, who had the decency to look a little frazzled at her anger. “I expected better from you, you’re always by his side whenever this happens. Care to explain yourself?” Ominis shook his head slowly and backed away a few steps as Sebatian came forward.
“Don’t take it out on him, he had no part in this.”
“Good to know the stupidity started and ended with you, then,” Y/N snapped. She turned her back on him and walked a few steps away to calm down. “Why do you always do this to me, Sebastian? Give me one good reason why you keep acting out like this.”
“I’m only looking out for your best interests. You need someone who will challenge you,” Sebastian stood taller, annoyance flashing in his eyes. “Not a lapdog who will roll over every time you call their name. You need an equal.” Ominis grimaced at his best friend's words and slowly began to back away. He didn’t make it too far before someone bumped into him, pausing to listen to the argument occurring in the hallway.
“Who are you to presume anything about my happiness?” Y/N stalked forward to poke Sebastian in the chest roughly. “Who would even fit within your insane standards for me? Who would challenge me, make me happy, treat me as their equal?” she asked, all but spitting the words at him. “You?”
“Maybe.” Sebastian shrugged, not quite meeting her eye as he shuffled between his feet nervously.
“You…” Y/N let out an incredulous laugh. “You’re something else, Sallow.” In all the times Y/N had imagined Sebastian admitting he may return his feelings for her it never went like this, in a corridor attracting the attention of their classmates with their fight. “I have done nothing but wait for you to notice me for two years, Sebastian. And when I finally realise you’ll never see me the way I want and decide to move on, that’s when you’re determined to want me?”
“I don’t just want you,” his voice was hoarse with her declaration. Two years? How could she not see that I’ve noticed her, that I've only ever noticed her? How could this have gone wrong so fast.
“You’re nothing but a jealous coward.” With one final poke to the chest, Y/N took her bag and started to walk away from him and the little crowd that had gathered.
“You think I don’t know how selfish I’m being?” Sebastian called out, suddenly finding his voice. He followed her path, near enough pushing anyone aside who stood in his way. “I would give anything - anything - to go back to that day we first met. Back when all you were was Atë personified, before I realised how absolutely breathtaking every inch of your soul is. You’ve ruined me, Y/N!”
“And that’s my fault?”
“I’m not saying that!” Sebastian groaned and reached for the sleeve of her robe to pull her to a stop. He quickly rescinded his hand when she shot him a menacing glare as if to say I dare you.
“Then what are you saying?” she asked. Doubt clutched him, stopping the words from leaving his mouth. He must have waited a beat too long to respond because Y/N sighed, and the disappointment on her face was enough to bring him to his knees as she continued to walk away from him, the students they had attracted parting to let her through. She had made it halfway down the corridor when sharp panic squeezed his chest tightly.
“I’m in love with you!” he shouted after her. His face flamed at the confession, at the sudden whispers of those around him as his words echoed down the stone corridor. Y/N stopped, and for a second Sebastian felt hope that she would turn around and say she loved him too. That it was him she wanted, who she always wanted.
“Well, you have a funny way of showing it.” He watched in despair as she walked away from him, slipping through the doors that would take her into another hall. There was a dull roaring in his ears, drowning out the sudden whispers that had started around him. A gentle hand landed on his shoulder and he looked over slowly to see Ominis, a grim look on his face. Sebastian couldn’t bear to see the sympathy in his gaze, to hear the voices around him talking about his rejected confession.
“All right, show’s over!” he growled, shaking Ominis’ hand from his shoulder. “Everyone clear off.” He rolled his shoulders and stood a little straighter before stalking down the corridor. The younger students jumped out of his way, and he caught the looks of pity from those in his year. Poppy tried to step forward and speak to him, but he just shook his head at her and walked out of the hall and made his way to the Undercroft.
*~*~*~*~*
It had been nearly a week since Y/N and Sebastian’s argument in the middle of the hallway and she could still hear people whisper about it as she walked by, as if she couldn’t hear a word they were saying. A group of Ravenclaws were sitting at a table in the library near Y/N, Poppy and Imelda, and every-so-often they looked over and started to giggle.
“Just ignore them,” Poppy murmured to her.
“No,” Imelda glared at the group, who immediately quieted down and looked away. “They need to learn to keep their mouths shut, or I’ll do it for them.” She raised her voice just enough for them to hear her threat and they quickly packed their things and left in a flurry of navy robes.
“You can’t threaten everyone in the school, Imelda,” Y/N said with a sigh, not looking up from her Charms textbook. Another group would soon come and replace that one, and the cycle would just repeat itself.
“Watch me.” Her grin was unnerving to say the least. “What’s he doing in here?” Y/N looked up to see Sebastian walking up the stairs into the upper part of the library where they were currently sitting. He looked around, a little unsure of himself and Y/N’s heart clenched in her chest at the sight. He always looked so confident, even when he was utterly terrified, but now he just looked lost. “He better not come over here.”
“Imelda,” Poppy sighed and shook her head. “We don’t even know if he’s here for Y/N, he could be here to study.” Even though Poppy was right, Y/N couldn’t help but wish that he was here for her, that he wanted to speak to her.
“No you don’t, wipe that look off your face,” Imelda pointed her quill at Y/N. “Don’t go mooning over him after what he’s put you through. You don’t need someone who’s going to treat you that poorly.”
“He doesn’t exactly look great himself.”
“Who’s side are you on, Sweeting?”
“I didn’t realise there were any.” Y/N rolled her eyes as the pair continued to bicker, her gaze turning back to Sebastian, who had turned in their direction as he heard Poppy and Imelda arguing. He caught her eye and began to slowly make his way to their table, casting a weary glance at Imelda as he neared.
“What do you want, Sallow?” Imelda snapped at him, turning on him as he got closer.
“Hello, Sebastian, are you alright?” Poppy nudged her in reprimand and offered him an awkward smile.
“I-I’d like to speak to Y/N, if that’s okay,” he asked, not quite looking at any of them.
“Come to shout more declarations of love in my face?” It was a low blow, and Y/N knew it. She watched as he flinched slightly and looked away from her, his shoulders slumped in defeat. She was vaguely aware of Poppy grabbing onto Imelda’s robes to pull her away while the latter protested as she stared at him. There were dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept in days, and his shirt and robes were rumpled. “Sit down,” she muttered, closing her book. “You look like you’re about to pass out from exhaustion.”
Sebastian listened, his hands running through his hair as he slumped down into a seat. He looked awful, Y/N noted, eyes wandering over his frame. It went beyond the creased clothes and the lack of sleep. He looked paler, and Y/N watched as he sighed heavily and rubbed a hand down his face.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I went too far.” There was a different level of weariness in his voice, it went down to his bones, his very soul. The man in front of her was not the one she had fallen for. Her heart ached as he looked up at her slowly with dull eyes. “I always go too far.”
“You do,” she murmured. His eyes slid shut at her words and he braced himself for a blow that wasn’t coming. “And yet, somehow, I always forgive you for it.” She hated admitting it out loud, but once her rage had simmered and the adrenaline had left her a few hours after their fight, she had forgiven him. She could never stay mad at him for long. Even after their only other argument that had happened in the Undercroft years ago when he had called her ignorant for trusting a goblin and stormed out she hadn’t been hurt or angry, just concerned for him.
“I don’t deserve you.”
“No, you don’t.” She waited until he looked at her before giving him a small, teasing smile. They stared at each other for a few seconds in silence, each drinking in the different ways the other had changed in the past few days until Y/N sighed and looked away again. “I’m not an object to be possessed, Sebastian. You can’t just stake your claim on me.”
“I never…I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be like this. I just…” he sighed and tried to sit a little straighter in his seat. Y/N waited patiently for him to finish his sentence, waited as the wheels turned in his head and he tried to figure out what he wanted to say. He looked at her from the corner of his eye, his heart constricting in his chest and he saw the matching dark rings under her eyes.
“I’m not going to fight you, Sebastian,” Y/N said gently, reaching his hand. She stopped before she could touch it and instead started to fiddle with the quill Poppy had left behind. “You can say what you need to.”
“It’s not pleasant.”
“None of this has been.”
“No, it hasn’t,” he smiled without humour and finally looked her in the eye. “Ominis and I once heard a conversation in the bathroom. I don’t think they realised we were in there, and they were gone before we could confront them. They were talking about you. About how they wanted to spend time with you and ask you to accompany them - alone, might I add - to the Three Broomsticks so that they could be seen with the Hero of Hogwarts.” Sebastian all but spat the nickname out, hating it in that moment. “They all left before I could see who they were. Ever since then I’ve stood between you and anyone who looked like they were trying to express interest because I didn’t know who was genuine and who was just using you.”
“Garreth…” Sebastian hated himself for being the one to break the news, for putting that heartbroken expression on her face. Y/N felt her stomach churn in revulsion and grief. She wasn’t stupid, she knew there were people in the school who only wanted to be seen with her because of what she was as opposed to who she was. She knew some of the requests she politely turned down for company and a drink in Hogsmeade weren’t out of attraction, but rather a ploy to get into her graces. She never suspected Garreth would be one of them. She was hurt - not because she had feelings for him, but because she had thought they were friends.
“No, I made a mistake with him.” He pulled a face as he admitted he was wrong. “It turns out he actually wants to get to know you - the real you.” Oh. Oh. Y/N felt her face flush and Sebastian looked away. He couldn’t bear to watch her blush over Garreth Weasley, or anyone, for that matter.
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Your delivery was less than ideal but…did you mean it? Do you mean it?” she asked nervously, her voice no more than a whisper. Sebastian hated the look on her face, hated seeing her so unsure of herself.
“Y/N, I’ve been in love with you since our fifth year.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means,” he held a hand out for hers, letting her make the decision if she wanted to take it or not. A few seconds passed, and he was just about to rescind the offer, when she shyly placed her hand in his. He squeezed her hand gently, his thumb brushing her knuckles as he tried not to think about how perfectly her hand fit in his. “It means that I want you to be happy,” he murmured, “and if Weasley makes you happy - or anyone else who wishes to genuinely court you - I’ll take a step back.”
It hurt him to say the words out loud, to voice the possibility that after all this she wouldn’t want him anymore. Not the way she had once, the way he currently still wanted her. He let her collect her thoughts, watched as she chewed on her lower lip.
“What if…what if I don’t want you to?” Y/N asked, voice so quiet he almost missed it.
Sebastian’s heart stuttered at the blush that rose to her cheeks, and he wanted nothing more than to pull her into his arms, to be the only one that made her blush like that ever again. For the rest of their lives. The thought startled him slightly, but he realised it was true. He wasn’t saying he wanted to marry her (although, a rather enticing image of Y/N floating down the aisle to him in a white dress did flash to mind), but he wanted to stay by her side. Whether that was in a friendly capacity or more. Merlin, did he hope it was more.
“I meant what I said too, about waiting for you to notice me,” she continued.
“Darling, I’ve not noticed anyone else since the day I met you.” He brushed his thumb across the back of her hand again and squeezed it gently before pressing a kiss to her knuckles. He watched in satisfaction as her blush deepened, and tried to read the flicker of emotions that passed across her face. “I’m more than aware my confession was…something, to say the least (Y/N rolled her eyes at this) but I meant what I said. I’m in love with you, Y/N Y/L/N. I have been for a while now.” She looked away, unable to handle the deep emotions swirling in his eyes, that are written clearly on his face for anyone to see. She didn’t doubt for a second that he was telling the truth. “I don’t expect you to say it back.”
“I…I’m not good with all of this. I can’t quite say if it’s love but…” Her face burns, and she feels as if it will be a permanent shade of red after this conversation. “I am entranced by you, Sebastian Sallow. I’ve never been in love before, never felt it in anything more than a friendly capacity, but with you…it’s different. It runs far deeper than I can explain.” She presses a hand to her chest, right above her heart that is beating so hard it’s a wonder he can’t hear it. “I can’t picture my life without you in it, whether that is as a friend or more.”
Y/N doesn’t know how else to put it into words. She can’t seem to say that it’s been him from the very beginning. From the moment she beat him in their first duel and he was thrilled instead of being put out she knew she was in trouble. She’d only fallen faster and harder since then, from their first trip to Hogsmeade where he flirted with her the whole way, until the day his uncle had died and she had talked Ominis out of sending him to Azkaban.
“You don’t need to say it back,” Sebastian repeated, his grip on her hand tightening as he took note of the adoration in her eyes. “I mean, how could you not be in love with me?” Y/N laughed loudly before clapping her hand over her mouth suddenly. They waited with baited breath for Scribner to come and reprimand them, only relaxing when they couldn’t hear her making her way up the stairs.
“You have to apologise to Garreth.” Sebastian groaned at her words, but there was a smile on his face that he couldn’t quite hide from her. Already he looked better. He still needed a good night’s sleep, in Y/N’s opinion, but life was returning to his eyes and he sat a little straighter, a little taller.
“Where does this leave us?” he asked, shuffling his chair closer to hers so their knees could press together under the table. He hooked one foot under her ankle and tangled their legs together, enjoying the look on her face as he did so.
“I’m still mad at you. But knowing you did this to be noble…to protect me. That lessens the blow.” She gently squeezed his leg between hers, grinning to herself as she watched him take his turn to blush. “I do hope you know I don’t need protection though.”
“My still-healing ego from our first Defence Against the Dark Arts class together remembers.”
He’s rewarded with her laugh again, her real one, and he makes a silent promise to make her laugh the same way every day for the rest of their lives. Every muscle in his body loosens at the sound, and he feels like he can finally breathe again when she grins at him and tugs him a little closer by his tie.
“If you ever pull a stunt like this again…” Although there was still a smile on her face, the threat was evident in her eyes. He nodded quickly, throat bobbing as she twirled his tie between her fingers and let go. She watches as he looks down at her lips nervously and gratification shot her through as his face slowly flushed. A smirk falls on her face at this, and she raises an eyebrow at him when he finally looks up to meet her gaze. “Feeling a little warm?”
“What, no.” He leans back and rubs the back of his neck, his blush deepening.
“Ah, so you’re just blushing like a third year at the thought of kissing me.”
“I’m not blushing.”
“So you want to kiss me?”
“Darling, I always want to kiss you.” The look he gives her makes her stomach flip.  “Can I…”
“Not until you ask me properly.”
“To kiss you?”
“Sebastian.”
“Alright, alright, fine,” he grins, loving the way she rolls her eyes at him. “Will you do me the honour of joining me on a trip to Hogsmeade?”
“Right now?”
“Right now.”
“Sebastian, it’s nearly curfew.”
“And when has that stopped you before?” he laughs and begins to gather her things into her bag before slinging it over his shoulder. He holds a hand out to her expectantly and waits until she grabs a hold of it before they leave the library, waving goodbye at Imelda and Poppy (who are doing their very best - and failing - to eavesdrop). They make it as far as the doors that lead to the greenhouses when Sebastian pulls her under the stairs, ensuring no one can see them as they dip into one of the shadows. She meets him halfway, pressing their lips together in a long overdue kiss.
“Do you have any final demands for this? For us?” he murmurs against her lips.
“Only one.” Her fingers run through his hair and his heart stutters in his chest. “I’m never going to make this easy for you. I'm going to challenge you every day for the rest of our lives.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

How do you think Sebastian would react after getting released/escaping Azkaban and finding out MC was pregnant when he got sent away?
Alright so i thought this was gonne be way harder. But i jumped on this so fast.
Warnings: A little angst. Implied depression/ptsd.
Obvious implied Sebastian × MC , implied Ominis x MC.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
10 years. Its been 10 years since MC reported Sebastian for Solomon's death, getting him sent to Azkaban and ripping his heart out in the process. 10 years, and he was finally getting out. He thought about this day countless times. Though about getting to see MC and Ominis again. Thought about getting the revenge he deserved. Thought about ripping their hearts out. And now he finally could.
He may have to crucio a few people to get their location, but it was oh so worth it. His vengeance and hurt numbing him to others pain.
He walked up to their shared house. Oh how betrayed he felt. Is this why they sent him to Azkaban? The sheer idea of it setting him ablaze. They would get whats coming to them.
He peeked inside the window and was shocked at what he saw.
MC was braiding a little girls hair as she smiled happily, Ominis sat across from them.
In that moment all Sebastian could do was watch. His anger giving away to curiosity. Whos kid was that? Had they had a child together while he was rotting away in Azkaban?? The idea killed him and he found himself unable to breath. Not tonight. He can't do it tonight. But he resolved to come back tomorrow. He MUST have justice for what was done to him.
And he did return, the next night and every night after. But found himself unable to do anything but watch. Watch them from the outside while they were so happy together.
He did notice from all the watching that MC and Ominis didn't seem to be.. intimate. Their relationship seemed more like one of platonic soulmates. They were always there for eachother but not in the way MC and Sebastian were. But if that were the case then whos child is this? Who had MC had a baby with? Who would she? Other than Ominis, and that seemed to be very nuch not the case. The idea of MC with anyone else still set a fire inside him. After everything, even when she turned him in, he couldnt help but love her.
His thoughts were cut short
"Hi! Who are you?"
He turned around slowly to see the little girl hes seen every day for the past month
"Im.. and old friend of your parents"
"Nice to meet you! If you know my parents.. does that mean you know my dad?!"
He took a really good look at her face for the first time and noticed something.
She had curly brown hair and freckles all over her face. Brown eyes too. Curious.
"Ominis isn't your father?" He knew the answer to that already. Why did he even ask?
She laughed "no, of course not! Hes my uncle! He just stays with my mom to help out. She gets really sad sometimes"
He hated the idea of her being sad. How could he have ever wanted revenge? She didn't do this to him. He did it to himself. And he dragged her into it like he always did. He should leave them alone. Stop watching them. Let them be happy.
"Oh! My names Anne by the way! I just realized I never told you" she held her hand out to him.
Then it dawned on him. Oh merlin. How could he be so foolish. Anne..
"How old are you?" He asked taking her hand and shaking it lightly.
"Im 10!" She beamed.
It was like he was hexed. His mind swirling wildly. It can't be.. but it is.
"I.. i have to go. But it was a pleasure meeting you Anne"
He decided he would be back tomorrow. And not just to watch. He had missed enough. He wanted to be with his.. daughter. And MC, and Ominis. Every ounce of anger and betrayal gone. He would be back tomorrow.
This marks the end of my 4-year hiatus and I'm really excited. I think I learned a lot since then and hope I can entertain some people with a few HL fanfics.
Suddenly he moved closer...a lot closer. His arm resting against his cocked hip, his chest almost brushing your bicep. It sent shivers down your spine, but luckily he wouldn't be able to distinguish them from your other shivers caused by this cold evening.
Yet you couldn't help yourself from looking down to the messily tucked in shirt, up his vest buttons, over this deliciously exposed neck and to stop at his teasing smile and dark brown eyes. You raised an eyebrow at Sebastian, crossing your arms (more to lessen your involuntary shivers, whenever his chest touched you) and asked him, what exactly he thought of doing.
His damn perfect smile widened at this question, eyes growing darker.
"I'm flirting, isn't it obvious?"
You couldn't stop yourself from blushing a little, hoping he didn't see it before you turned your face away from him. This feeling...jumping around in your heart like a giddy child...you had to push it away, so inadvertently your crossed arms nudged him enough, so he had to change his position again. Finally there was some distance between you two again.
Thank Merlin.
"Well, you should stop that. We don't want anyone to think of us otherwise, do we?"
You tried to cover your shaky voice with a playful tone, yet you weren’t sure if it was believable.
When you looked back up into his warm eyes, you wondered…was it a shimmer of sadness in his eyes just now? You couldn't tell for sure, as his smile came back again so quickly.
Obviously he just wanted to get a rise out of you again. Always teasing, always flirting, always too god damn close.
He was your friend, your best one to be exact, but oh, how you longed for more. This…flirting…it was the only thing you could allow yourself.
"I don't care what anyone thinks about us.” He answered in a hushed and dark voice. “I only care what you think."
He was standing there so confidently, while you could only notice your knees getting weaker with each second he was staring at you, waiting for a reaction.
Maybe you could allow yourself a little more.
Just a tiny bit more.
Maybe it would shut him up for good.
When you turned to face him completely and mirrored the darkness in his eyes, his ones widened. You didn't notice how his knees also got a little weaker and how his hands started to shake with anticipation, when you stepped closer.
"Oh, so you wouldn't care..."
You stepped closer.
"...if anyone saw us..."
Another step.
"...being so close and..."
Another.
"...personal?"
Now you were close enough for Sebastian to notice the faded scar on your temple, the small small discoloration in one of your eyes and smell this wonderful perfume of yours mixed with your own intoxicating scent.
He had to gulp down against the lump in his throat he suddenly felt.
"No..." His voice was low and raspy, a little shaky even.
Oh this was perfect. Just perfect.
Finally you would get a little revenge for him always making you feel like you would lose your mind, whenever he stepped into your personal space so recklessly.
A wave of confidence rushed through your veins from seeing him like this. Seeing how his freckled nose flared up with his quickening breath, his cheeks turning an adorable pink and his lips quivering a little.
The gasp that escaped those lips, when you put your hand on his hip to pull him closer, shot right down your body, right in between your legs. You wanted to get used to this feeling. You wanted to just let go and drown in this exciting promise of his gasp.
You had to hear it again.
"Oh, I don't think you'd be able to handle it. To handle me."
Sebastian was barely able to hold back a muttered "Fuck", showing just how desperate he was for you. How much your hand sent tingles up and down his spine and how your dark voice awakened something so even darker inside him.
He bit his lower lip, watching you very intently.
Though his eyes shortly closed with the new sensation of your other hand running up his arm, over his muscular bicep and shoulder, stopping at his neck.
Oh, and when you pulled him down by it, almost fully closing the distance between your lips, he again let a gasp escape his mouth.
This was too fucking addicting.
Your stomach wanted to turn upside down, your legs wanted to give out and your lips...they wanted to kiss him and show him how much you needed him.
Your fingers gently ran up his soft curly brown hair, twisting it a little and scraping his scalp. He seemed to enjoy the feeling, closing his eyes once more, but quickly opening them again, to stare down at your lips.
You neither noticed your other hand drawing small circles on his lower back nor your breasts pressing against his taut chest. Your mind was already dizzy, running a marathon in your head, which your heart apparently took part in, hammering so hard and fast that you could only hear your own pulse in your ears.
Yet the moment your lips ghosted over his plush ones, everything stopped.
As if your whole body just shut down.
It felt like forever until your body turned back on, but it must've been less than a millisecond, when something similar to a siren started to blare a warning in your head.
THIS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!
Everything inside you started to initiate the plan for Code Red.
You pulled back, stepping away from Sebastian completely, your hands falling down from the desperate grip they just had on him, while your heart ached like a thousand needles were attacking it.
Your eyes darted everywhere except to the brunette, only allowing you to look at him once, to see his reaction to your sudden retreat. Seeing his big wide eyes, you knew you had to cover up whatever just spilled out of your heart. You couldn't let your unusual abrasive behavior destroy this friendship.
So you just giggled half-heartedly, trying to cover all of this up as your usual non-serious flirting.
"See? Couldn't handle me..."
Your voice wasn't very convincing, but you chose to ignore it as best as you could.
"Now come on, Sallow, you dumbass. We should be getting back to the castle."
Nice save there, you thought to yourself, rolling your eyes. Sebastian couldn't see it, as you already turned away, making your way towards the castle.
how sebastian met his favorite hufflepuff ;ଓ s. sallow
Tumblr media
pairing : sebastian sallow x gn!hufflepuff!reader (they/them pronouns used)
a/n : first time writing anythingggg :] so pleaseeee hit up my inbox ik i don’t have a guidelines post but it’ll be okay
warnings : short. no capitalization & reader is** the hogwarts legacy MC — basically tutor trope
Tumblr media
everyone knows every slytherin needs a hufflepuff
you just so happen to be a hufflepuff & sebastian’s a slytherin — it’s simple math 2+2=the best hufflepuff x slytherin duo to exist
(^^ and rumor has it helga hufflepuff herself had salazar slytherin wrapped around her finger… but you & sebastian are still the best slytherin & hufflepuff duo of course)
you and sebastian, the most inseparable pair, came to be because of professor garlick’s herbology class
sebastian may know how to cut corners when it comes to getting in trouble, but oh was he fucked when he disregarded herbology and thought it was an easy A
“you surely can beat me in a duel- if you weren’t holding back, that is. and judging by your insight in herbology, that makes the new hogwarts student even more remarkable.” gosh can you imagine the smirk on his face
you tried to shoo his compliments away in your head, hoping that familiar warmth wasn’t creeping on your face, painting on your cheeks
“so, you reckon you’d find the time to help me study for herbology? when you’re not too busy fighting trolls and whatever else the great y/n gets themselves into”
and oh, how could you ever say no to him?dujdjfjdjdjdjdjjf
sooner or later, you two have plans to leave the great hall early from dinner to study — a rose-y color fading onto sebastian’s face while he approaches you
Tumblr media
( i might make a little mini-series dedicated to sebastian & his study dates :0 let me know what you think )
ahh i really enjoyed writing this nonnie
pairing: sebastian sallow x hufflepuff!reader wc: 542 warning(s): brief mention of character death, manipulation, angst
Tumblr media
Avada Kedavra.
One of the unforgivable curses that your parents warned you about since you were a child. There’s a reason they’re called unforgivable.
Sebastian casts the curse right in front of your eyes, and you watch as his uncle Solomon’s body drops to the ground of the Feldcroft catacomb with a loud thud, and you stand still out of complete shock before you turn your head to look at Sebastian.
He looked stricken with… fear, almost, as he realizes what he’s just done. His wand drops from his hand just before his sister Anne soon storms into the tunnel, and she casts depulso at him. He flies backwards and hits the wall behind him.
He made his choice.
“Y/N,” Sebastian stammers, and you turn around briefly to watch him stand up and stumble to his feet after gathering his bearings once Anne had disappeared with Solomon’s body.
“No, Sebastian-” You say quickly, and you avoid his eyes before you begin to hurry out of the catacombs. You’ve spent enough time here.
Sebastian is hot on your heels, and once the two of you get outside, Sebastian reaches forward and grabs you by the back of your black and yellow robe.
You turn to him quickly with nothing but pain in your eyes, and Sebastian notices it instantly.
“Y/N, please listen to me!” Sebastian pleads, and you’re quick to yank yourself free from his grasp.
“Sebastian! I- you just used the killing curse! They’re called unforgivable for a reason! I wanted to help you cure Anne but you’ve gone too far- Dark magic is a path that you cannot follow, and I won’t watch you do it!” You can’t help but shout, and Sebastian’s lips downturn into a sad frown at your words.
“I- Y/N, what are you talking about? He attacked us!” Sebastian tries to reason, and as hot tears form in your eyes, you shake your head.
“He was trying to sto-”
“I had to!” Sebastian shouts, his eyes wide as he steps closer to you. You had to see, he had to keep you on his side.
“He attacked us first Y/N, I did what I had to do. I couldn’t let him hurt you.” Sebastian’s voice is quieter now, and he carefully moves closer and reaches over to take your hand in his. It was shaking.
“You understand, right? He could have killed us there, I had to do something.”
You blink a few times as Sebastian’s expression turns softer, and there’s… Sincerity in his gaze.
“He didn’t care about trying to help Anne. You and I do… you said you were going to help me find a cure for her.” Sebastian presses. He squeezes your hand then, and although what he did was unspeakable, you did promise him. You give him a small, unsure nod.
The corners of Sebastian's lips turn up into a slight smile, and he reaches up to brush some dust away from your cloak.
“I knew you would understand. I did what was best for us.” Sebastian nods, and his smile grows slightly as the two of you begin to walk away from the catacombs.
Only Sebastian could convince you that the use of an unforgivable curse was justified.
all i see is you (a hogwarts legacy: video game) fic
here is the fic link!
tags: sebastian sallow/reader + mutual pining + fluff + hufflepuff/slytherin interhouse relationships + OMINIS GAUNT BEING A SAVAGE
You walk out of the hufflepuff common room with one thing on your mind. Sebastian Sallow.
Yesterday evening you both snuck into the undercroft and talked for hours. You're glad disillusionment got you guys out unscathed, but you can't help but think of how fun the two of you had together by just sharing each other's thoughts and secrets. You have enjoyed the time given to spend time with him. After all, it feels at times you're extremely busy catching up with your studies as a fifth year. However, Sebastian has been so understanding of your time and energy, never pushing your limits but that doesn't stop you from feeling inspired to explore more with him.
As you enter the main hall you see Sebastian sitting with Ominis at one of the benches. You approach him with a smile beaming on your face. Sebastian notices you coming towards them and immediately rises up from his seat to greet you.
"Goodmorning! It's not like you to be up this early?" Sebastian teases you with a grin on his face. Even though his accusation was true, you're almost always the last one to wake up from the common rooms, you wanted to wipe that grin off his face so badly. Teasing each other is what both of you guys are good at.
"I'm surprised you're not in detention this early in the morning, maybe you've been getting better at sneaking through the prefects at night." You reply, noticing a slight redness appear on Sebastian's freckled cheeks. He rubs his neck sheepishly.
"Ahem..." coughs a voice from beside Sebastian. Ominis raises his wand from his spell book he was studying a minute ago. Suddenly, you feel a bit embarrassed you had not greeted him sooner. You've been caught up poking fun with Sebastian that you almost forgot he was there.
"Back at it again with the flirting, I see. I can't say I'm surprised, I suppose." Ominis remarks.
You glance towards Sebastian, feeling your cheeks redden and see that he's giving Ominis the most evil glare you've ever witnessed. Not that Ominis could see it, of course. But you know his other senses are so strong that he's probably aware Sebastian wants to kill him right now.
You're not entirely oblivious to the chemistry you feel when you're around Sebastian but you're not absolutely positive he feels the same. You're hoping you hide your feelings well so it wouldn't jeopardize your friendship. You love your friendship with Sebastian so much- that you wouldn't ruin it for the world. Even if it means hiding your true feelings.
You say hello to Ominis and take a seat beside the two. Classes don't start for another 30 minutes. So you guys had a bit of time to chat before classes begin.
____
When class begins you notice how Sebastian seems to be fidgeting in his seat next to you. You don't know why, because Sebastian has never been nervous around you or anyone before. It's not like him to fidget or get flustered. So you begin to worry, but you quickly push the thought away, hoping he's just eaten something that made his stomach squirm.
You don't want to miss Professor Hecat's lecture so you regain your attention on her.
Unbeknownst to you, Sebastian couldn't pay attention to the lesson, his foot tapping on the floor and his mind wandering to this morning when Ominis had the audacity to point out he was flirting with you. You didn't seem to react or mind Ominis' clear intention to rile you guys up. Sebastian does not understand why it bothers him so much.
Perhaps he's worried if you find out he has growing feelings for you, you'll distance yourself from him completely. He's always hoped you felt the same but shooed the thought away as a mere illusion of his imagination. He loves how dedicated you are to your studies, and how loyal you are to him as a friend. You and Ominis get along so well, that he's so ecstatic to find you guys working so well as a team. He finds spending time with you to be his favorite part of everyday at Hogwarts. You're always there for him and Ominis, and your other friends here at Hogwarts. You'd do anything for them and he admires that immensely. It reminds him of how he went above and beyond for his sister.
He's figured he won't ever tell you about these growing feelings. Even though at times it can be suffocating for him, as if you've crawled into the deepest parts of his mind and set up camp there.
You're in the middle of the lecture when you notice Sebastian zoned out completely. You tap his shoulder which slightly jumps and whirls his head to you, as if he forgot you were really there.
"Are you okay?" you lip-mouth. Sebastian and you have gotten better at reading each other's lips. Especially when you want to  talk to each other in class without making any noise.
You've been around Sebastian for so long that you notice this is not the case. His eyes look lost and a bit sad too. As if he's lost in thought. You wonder if he's contemplating on what's happened in the past again.  Perhaps you need to comfort him.
Raising your hand, you say "Professor Hecat, can I escort Sebastian to the boy's restroom? He doesn't look too good."
"Wait what?" Sebastian whisper-shouts to you while the Professor gives you a curt nod. You immediately take his hand and lead him outside of class to the boy's restroom. He's giving you a string of curses. "Merlins beard! Don't drag me too hard!"
You realize you've been almost sprinting while holding his arm as you guys make your way to the boy's restroom. You loosen your grip because you guys are almost there.
"I'm sorry for hurting you! What's wrong? I know something is up." As you walk in you thank Merlin that no one's around. That you guys have enough time to talk. Sebastian can see by your expression and eagerness that you're worried for him. His expression softens. Sebastian lets out a long sigh.
"I'm sorry if I worried you," Sebastian replies, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck, "I've just had a lot on my mind today."
You look into his eyes and you can see he's not lying. Sebastian usually diverts his gaze when he lies, which he isn't doing now, so you let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm glad that's the case. I'm just so worried for you. I know you're still not over what happened to your sister...and that it plagues your thoughts at times. I understand. I'm always here for you if you want to talk."
Sebastian closes the distance between you, wrapping his arms around your waist and gives you a heartwarming hug. You quickly reciprocate his embrace. You bury your head in his shoulder while he does the same. He smells like textbooks and citrus. The scent you've already gotten used to. You smile contently into the crook of his neck.
Sebastian didn't know how perfect this moment could be. The girl he cares about deeply being with him is almost enough to forget what he recently went through. He knows he hasn't told you how he truly feels and he never planned too...at least- before now.
Sebastians raises his head and unlocks the embrace. It felt like so much time has passed while you guys were holding each other that Sebastian guesses classes were almost over.
"However, I haven't been completely honest with you lately." Sebastian says with his gaze upon the floor. Your eyebrows shoot up.
"Go on, you can tell me anything." You reply.
Sebastian thinks to himself that: this is it. He's going to tell you how he truly feels. He prays that it won't mess up what you two already have, if you don't reciprocate his feelings.
"I've been growing feelings for you for some time now," Sebastian begins, "You've always been there for me, even when I let you down. I think you're the most beautiful, kind, loyal person I know. Every day I spend with you makes me feel like I've known you my whole life. I think, somehow, we were destined to meet. And if you feel the same, then I know it's true."
You're feeling a ton of emotions in that moment. Some you can't recall but they make you feel like you're a firework waiting to pop. You feel so happy you take Sebastian's face in your hands and give him a heart-shattering kiss. He kisses you back. Placing his hands on your back and pulling you closer to him. Kissing you with so much vigor. And so much love.You melt into his arms.
Sebastian finally releases you from the kiss and rests his forehead against yours. You are still catching up to your breath from that kiss. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Sebastian asks you. Your smile could take down an army of goblins of how big it was.
"Yes! Of course!" You reply eagerly, not even becoming embarrassed by how joyful you sound.
You hear footsteps coming from outside the bathroom, and the both of you know someone's heading in here. Hoping it's not one of the professors. The store opens to Ominis, and you both let out a sigh of relief of not being sent to detention.
Classes are over, doofuses. I don't even want to know what's going on, but I know it's you guys." Ominis' eyes narrow. "I hope this means you losers finally admitted your love for each other."
**MC staring longingly at Sebastian across the room being idiotic**
Poppy: So why aren’t you and Sebastian dating again?
MC: Because I’d destroy him…
Ominis: Trust me, he’d definitely be into that.
The Little Things (S.S)
When did it become 4am? Idk. Ghost files was playing in the background so I blame Shane and Ryan for distracting me.
No warnings for this, its all fluff. Maybe angst if you look super closely but jokes on you, I tricked you. Maybe a part two because I definitely didn’t finish it but it’s on a pretty good cliffhanger. I listened to Artic Monkeys for the three hours it took me to give you a 2.9k fic, dedication. Snap Out of It is playing rn, life is good. Anyway Hufflepuff gn reader again becasue i said so (im sorry that was mean) Good night
Tumblr media
       Ominis sat on the couch in the common room of the Slytherin house, listening carefully to his friend Sebastian. Due to his own disability, Ominis had no idea what most people looked like, and he never really cared to ask. But he was becoming close friends with the new 5th year student, a Hufflepuff who somehow became integrated into the group. He found their voice calming and would laugh if they said something funny or a quip at Sebastian over something. He didn’t want to ask his new friend about their looks, he thought it would be weird, so instead he asked Sebastian. Sebastian had joked about it at first, saying that you had a face full of ugly scars and moles all over your face, but after he saw Ominis quirk an eyebrow and sigh in annoyance, he settled down and gathered his thoughts.
      He had the clearest image of you in his head, as if you were standing in front of him. He took a breath, “Well, you already know that they’re nice, of course. Their face matches their personality, I think. Their eyes are like jewels of the brightest colour, and their eyebrows really match their face? I don’t know how to explain it.” He went on, describing you to Ominis in as much detail as possible, not leaving out a single characteristic, down to how long your eyelashes were and how tall you were.
      “What else?” Ominis asked, smirking to himself as he listened to Sebastian blabber on. “What? You want to know more?” He asked, earning a nod from Ominis. Sebastian thought to earlier, when he glanced over at you during Herbology. Professor Garlick had been talking about a rather confusing subject, Sebastian wasn’t even quite sure what it was about, but he knew it had something to do with magical plants. In his own confusion, he had looked over at you to see if you were understanding any better, only to be met with your squinting eyes as you tried to make sense of the words. You had done this a lot whenever you were confused, and Sebastian secretly found it adorable, though he would never tell anyone. Sometimes, if you were really confused, he would watch your nose scrunch up as well and a small frown dawn on your lips. When the class had ended, you had trotted up to him and elbowed him in the side, sighing. “Ow! What was that for?” Sebastian had asked, pushing you to the side and away from him. You shrugged in response, letting out a dramatic sigh. Sebastian raised an eyebrow, knowing that you just wanted him to ask you what was wrong. “Ok, fine. What’s wrong?” He eventually asked, pulling onto your robe to make sure you didn’t get separated from each other. He watched as you tried to hide a smile, replying. “I didn’t understand a word she said. I felt rather dumb.” Sebastian nodded his head and brought a hand up to pat you on the head. “I could tell, you’re not very good at keeping a straight face. But I didn’t understand anything either, so I suppose that makes up two idiots together, yeah?” You snorted in response, shaking his hand off your head. “I’m still smarter than you, so don’t get any ideas.” Sebastian quipped a quick “yeah right” and walked along side you, thinking about how soft your hair had felt for a moment. He never understood that, how you managed to always have soft hair.
      Ominis only continued to smile as Sebastian talked about the faces you made and what had happened that day. “Do they make those faces when they fall asleep during our study time?” He asked. Sebastian hummed in response as he remembered how you fell asleep at the table the three of you were occupying in the library, your face pressed against a book as soft, slightly muffled snores left you. “Yeah, their nose twitches a bit.” You had been studying charms for a test the next day, and you had brought the book up close to read the small writing that was in the corner. You scrunched your nose up then, too. Sebastian had been too busy explaining a concept for a charm to see you lay the book down on the table once again and try to stifle a yawn. When he asked you a question and waited for your reply, he heard a soft noise. Looking over, you had laid your head down and used the book as a pillow, a hand brought up to your face to rest against your cheek. He watched for a moment, taking in the details of your sleeping form. He recounted the details to Ominis now, mentioning how your eyes had shifted a bit under your eyelids, and how you twitched randomly and caused hair to fall into your face.
      Ominis didn’t even have to speak anymore, Sebastian just kept talking.
      The next day, during breakfast, you seemingly appeared from nowhere next to Sebastian at the table, pushing your shoulder against his own to grab something to eat. It startled the boy half to death, and he was left stuttering out a string of not-so-strong words. “Listen, I know that Hufflepuffs are supposed to be loyal, but you have to warn someone before you just appear, yeah?” He breathed, smoothing down his robes. You only shook your head in response, a piece of toast quite literally hanging from your mouth as you tried to reach for some jam, which was just too far away for your fingers to reach. Sebastian smiled as he grabbed the jam you had been reaching for, showing it to you. “This what you’re after?” He asked, and you nodded in response. His smile widened as he looked you in the eye, and placed the jam father away. The toast dropped from your mouth as you gasped, eyes beginning to squint in annoyance. “Ominis, they’re squinting at me, I might just die.” Sebastian joked, flailing dramatically. You huffed as you got up to fetch it yourself, mumbling. “Typical Slytherin. Oh, you want this? Go get it ha ha.” Ominis heard this and choked on his juice. “What was that?” Sebastian asked, who didn’t quite catch what you had said due to his own laughter. You sat back down and began spreading the jam on your toast. “You’re acting like a dog. A puppy even. Childish, like a Slytherin.” You quipped, pointing the dull knife at him. You continued, “All bark but no bite. Like a Golden Retriever.” Sebastian pretended to be offended as he took a bite of his food, leaning over to Ominis. “If we’re talking about dogs, someone is a Pomeranian.” He said, pretending to whisper to Ominis. You heard this, and wacked him upside his head. “Am not.” You retorted, taking a bite of toast finally. Ominis, thanks to Sebastian describing you, maybe too much, was able to imagine the face you were making as you argued lightly about how you most certainly were not a Pomeranian, but never state what kind of dog you thought you were. “I think you’re just Sebastian’s emotional support dog,” Ominis stated, using his shoulder to push Sebastian away. You titled your head slightly, a confused hum voicing your thoughts. “Well,” Ominis continued, “Everyone just calls you his emotional support Hufflepuff, but it’s pretty much the same thing.” “Hey!”
       That night, Sebastian came back to the common room later than usual, but mumbling excitedly to himself as he beelined to Ominis. “You will not believe what I just witnessed.” He started, dropping into a chair next to his friend. Ominis turned to his direction, wondering just what Sebastian could have witnessed. “Y/n. I was looking for them because I grabbed their potions book on accident, which, not my fault.” Sebastian started. Ominis shook his head and smiled, motioning for Sebastian to continue. “Anyway, I found them by their common room, but they didn’t go in for some reason. They were just standing there, swaying kind of?” Ominis began to imagine you in a trance state, just swaying for no reason. Sudden worry fell onto his face. “Were they cursed?” He asked, earning a laugh from Sebastian. “I thought so at first, so I went over to see if everything was ok.” He paused, trying not to laugh as he thought back to what you were doing. He had walked up to you slowly, as if you would turn around and attack him if he went too fast. As he got closer, he could hear you mumbling lightly to yourself, but he couldn’t make out what you were saying. Surely you hadn’t gone crazy, swaying, and mumbling to a wall? He crept closer, wand ready just in case. As he found himself behind you, he peered over your shoulder. “They were swaying, to the moving cactus!” He laughed, clutching his sides. You were, in fact, dancing with the little cactus, entranced by its movement. Sebastian had let out a laugh when he realized what was going on, and caused you to jump backwards, right into him. He had caught you, still laughing as you looked up at him and scowled. “What are you laughing for?” You asked as you pushed yourself off of him and fixing your robes. Sebastian, nearly out of breath from laughing so hard, held his hand up to signal that he needed a moment. You crossed your arms and stared at him, a pouty frown forming on your lips. Sebastian saw this and had to take even more breaths. He mentioned this to Ominis, how you pouted at him. Ominis huffed in amusement, imagining what that must have looked like. Once Sebastian was able to catch his breath, he walked over to the cactus and pointed at it. “Dancing with a cactus?” You puffed your cheeks, not responding. He continued, “I don’t think it’s a good dance partner, it’s got the moves, but a bit prickly, don’t you think?” You kept your arms crossed, “Like you’re a better dance partner.” Sebastian scoffed at the thought of a cactus being better than him, but he still felt his cheeks heat up a bit. “Of course, I am.” He stopped at that, telling Ominis that he had clearly won that argument. Ominis shook his head as he got up, “Sebastian, you’re quite daft.” “What’s that supposed to mean?!”
         Ominis found it amusing to hear Sebastian talk about things, he always spoke in detail to give him a better picture, which also meant that he unintentionally spared hardly any details. Ominis had learned a long time ago how to identify what Sebastian was into by the way he described certain things. A bird would get the simple description, while something like the colour or texture of a potion he was making in class would be explained in depth. He noticed this while Sebastian talked about you. Although he knew Sebastian went into detail about what you looked like so he could get the best image possible, Sebastian would give unnecessary details, like if you had a leaf in your hair one day or how your eyes had a twinkle. Sebastian had paid such close attention to everything that you did, it was hard to think that he only saw you as a friend. Yet, Ominis could just feel the oblivious look on Sebastian’s face if it was ever brought up.
       It was some time the following week when Sebastian came across a moment of frustration. You had been a topic of conversation amongst fellow students. You always were. Yet, when some of the boys from his house came up to him and Ominis asking about you, Sebastian became defensive. He didn’t describe you to the boys like he described you to Ominis. This caused Ominis to smirk to himself as he listened in, noting the ting of jealousy in Sebastian’s voice. Once the group had left the two of them, Ominis dug his elbow into Sebastian’s side. “Ow! What are you on about, doing that?” Sebastian asked, holding his side. Ominis continued to try and poke Sebastian, mumbling. “You really like them; the big bad golden retriever Slytherin has a soft spot for the Hufflepuff.” He joked, of course, and he was unable to see the face Sebastian was making. But he knew just how flustered he got when he was unable to form a sentence to combat Ominis, his cheeks a bright red as he froze. Ominis had to explain to Sebastian what he meant, teasing him about how oblivious he was. “You talk a lot. Too much, sometimes. But you hardly spoke a word to them when they asked about y/n. You’re not too subtle, are you?”
      You walked in to see Ominis with a devious smile, his index finger still out and ready to poke Sebastian in his side. Sebastian, on the other hand, was frozen in place and red. It was quite a sight to see. You walked over and stood over the two boys. “What are you guys doing?” You asked, a smirk forming as you got a closer look at the scene the two of them had created. Sebastian looked up quickly and stared at you, much like a deer caught alone by a hunter. Ominis’ smile never left. “I was just teasing Sebastian. He’s been acting quite dumb and needed to be told.” Ominis got up and fixed his robes. “Well, I have places to go, so I’ll be seeing the two of you later for a study session for charms. No sleeping this time either.” And with that, he left.
      You took Ominis’ seat next to Sebastian, your smile growing larger as you watched him try to form some sort of sentence. “Have you been dumb, Sebastian?” You teased. Sebastian could only narrow his eyes at you. You continued to tease him, “Aw poor baby. Whatever shall we do?” Sebastian’s face got redder if that was even possible. You took notice of this and went to poke his cheek, the warmth almost burning you. Sebastian, still unable to form words, got up from his seat and turned his back and stood there. You took that as you hint to get up as well, and followed him out to the hall. You kept walking beside him, but were unable to see that he slowed down and walked behind you. When you finally noticed, he had run into your back, burying his head between your shoulders and moving to wrap his arms around you. You felt your cheeks flare up now, unable to do anything. “I’m not that dumb.” He mumbled, seemingly trying to burrow further into your back. At first you thought his feelings had been hurt, but you felt a smile grow on your back, and suddenly your sides were being attacked. “Sebastian you cheater!” You yelled, desperately trying to break free of his grasp. The boy wouldn’t let go, not until he tickled you until you were out of breath and falling to your knees. A triumphant step and a happy hum, he knelt with you, lightly head butting you. “Maybe you’re the dumb one.”
        “You’re both dumb.” Ominis said as he took his seat at the library table. Even after Sebastian had told him about the attack he launched on you, he didn’t say if he ever confessed. You hadn’t even shown up to the study session yet, and Ominis was already cursing you for your own feelings, had you even realized them yet was beyond him. “Now that’s rude.” Sebastian retorted, pulling his book out. Ominis scoffed, “Not rude enough, it appears. How is it that the two of you have not realized this yet? You think “Emotional Support Hufflepuff” was a friendly term or something?” Sebastian furrowed his brow, “Yes, is it not?” Ominis could only shake his head. “You are impossible.”
      A few moments later you had arrived, your book in hand and a quill and parchment in the other. “Get distracted by dancing cacti again?” Sebastian teased as you sat beside him. You shook your head, opening to the page the three of you had left off on. “Sounds like someone didn’t get poked enough.” You mumbled. Ominis let out a snort. The three of you began your study like normal, without you falling asleep this time. Before the library blew out its lights, the three of you left. Ominis had bid you farewell as he made his way back to the Slytherin dorm, claiming that he needed a shower before bed. You were left with Sebastian, who walked by your side and occasionally (and purposely) bumped into you. You gasped as he bumped into you too hard, sending you falling into a wall. Luckily, Sebastian realized just how hard he hit you, and quickly went to grab you before you contacted the stone. He wrapped his arms around you and held you still, muttering a “whoops” into your hair. You huffed, “If you wanted me to fall for you, all you had to do was ask.” You laughed at your own joke, congratulating yourself for coming up with something so fast. Sebastian stayed silent, seemingly holding you tighter. You felt him say something against your head and calmed your laughing down. “What was that?” You asked. Sebastian shook his head, eventually letting go of you and continuing to walk you to your dorm.
Hogwarts Legacy Headcanons: How the Companions behave in an Established Relationship
Includes Sebastian Sallow, Ominis Gaunt, Natsai Onai, Amit Thakkar, and Poppy Sweeting.
I tried my best with the pictures, but I couldn't find one that does Amit justice. Therefore, there is no picture for his section. BUT!!! Stan Amit. He is awesome!
Edit: Thanks for all the likes, reads, comments, and rebloggs. I never expected that my post would be received this well. This means a lot to me since writing is my passion. Thank you, guys.
Sebastian Sallow
Tumblr media
He is super protective of you. When you venture into the Forbidden Forrest, he insists on leading the way because he doesn't want you to get hurt or be surprised by enemies. No matter how often you point out that you are better at fighting than him, he will not relent. For you two, protecting each other is almost like a competition.
Sebastian: "I didn't let a single spider touch you. You could have helped me with the Inferi, though."
You: "I was busy keeping the goblins away from you. I had to disarm them, Sebastian. Otherwise, they would have attacked you with their swords, axes, and whatnot. I knew you could handle a few Inferi."
Sebastian expresses his love through physical touch. In the halls, while walking with you, he holds your hand. At dinner in the great hall, he sits next to you, legs touching. And in Potions class, you are his loyal partner. When you two are brewing a potion, he tends to whisper words of encouragement, brushing along your fingers or shoulders gently.
Sebastian: "Good girl/boy. You added the right amount of Troll Bogeys."
Against common belief, I don't think that he is the jealous type. Of course, he ensures that people who are romantically interested in you know that you are happily taken, but he is so confident in his charms that he doubts anyone comes even close to him in your book. Only when he notices that someone rivals his natural magnetism and winsome smile does he become jealous and starts sulking like a child. Then, his jealousy becomes extremely profound and unrivaled.
Sebastian: *sitting on a bench in the hallway, pouting*
You: "Sebby, darling, what is bothering you? Don't make that dreary face."
Sebastian: "Dreary!? I’m appalled! Who does that seven-year think he is that he can steal my girlfriend/boyfriend/partner?"
You: *giggling* "No one will steal me from you. *you appease him with a kiss on his forehead*
Sebastian: *smiling exuberantly for the rest of the day until Ominis is so fed up that he swears that even he could see Seb's smile*
If you both belong to Slytherin, you spend hours in the common room reading books from the forbidden section until you fall asleep. You are usually laying on his chest, head buried in Sebastian's neck, and he holds you close with an iron-hard grip. Fortunately, Ominis always wakes up early, and when he notices that Sebastian is not in his bed, he walks down to the common room to wake you both up to prevent unnecessary rumors from spreading.
If you don't belong to Slytherin, your meeting spot for late-night reading sessions is in the Undercroft, and Ominis brings all of you some breakfast from the kitchens.
Sebastian is so enchanted by you that he is convinced you are a rare kind of magic. Obviously, your ancient magic powers are great and all. But your smile and personality are an instant kill to him and equal fatality.
Ominis Gaunt
Tumblr media
Ominis is not big on showing his affection publicly. But trust me, this young man will make sure that you know he loves you ardently. He is the romantic type. He writes you poems and love notes. Sometimes he passes his latest creations to you in class, and he is so clever about it that no teacher ever catches him.
Ominis: *scribbling notes in Transfiguration* "MC, could you pass me your book? I forgot mine."
You: "Sure."
After a while, he returns the book, and when you turn to the page he read, you find a little sheet that Ominis used to express his love for you: Your voice sounds like the waves rippling on the shore, and your skin is as smooth as a moonstone. Your hair rivals the soft grass below a willow tree, and your breath smells like the epitome of a sweet summer breeze. I may be blind, but you invigorated my other senses: smelling, tasting, hearing, and feeling. My world would be stale without you in it. Also, I think Sebastian is up to something again. You keep an eye on him, and I will strain my ears to find out what he is hiding. In utter infatuation, your Ominis <3
Ominis loves it when you describe the surroundings to him. Unfortunately, whenever something unexpected happens, for example, in class, and he hears people gasping in astonishment, he does not know immediately what is transpiring. Ominis has to rely on someone telling him exactly what happened after the event is over to grasp the entirety of a situation. Usually, he extracts the most important pieces of information by listening closely to the different sounds amidst the chaos, but he is glad that ever since you stumbled into his gloomy life, you supply him with detailed descriptions and explanations. He loves how attentive you are. He doesn't have to ask for your help. You just inform him in a non-condescending manner about that which he cannot see. You include and cherish him with all that you are. And if the two of you are walking through the grounds of Hogwarts, he inquires about the scenery. But he is not interested in how the trees, the sun, and the sky create a picturesque atmosphere, he wants to know what the view looks like to you. He is curious about your subjective opinion.
You: "The tree looks beautiful. It is a bit crooked, and if you were to compare its leaves to human hair, you would think that it is in desperate need of a haircut. Oh! To our right, Leander Prewett is showing off his broom skills to a few first-years. They are elated and impressed."
Ominis: "I hear them saying that Prewett is flying phenomenally."
You understood his implicit question perfectly. "His flying sucks, honestly. The first-years just don't know what good flying looks like."
It takes him some time, but eventually, he opens up about his trauma. He talks in detail about how he was tortured as a child and forced to use the Cruciatus Curse. He may even cry, but you hold him tight and listen to him spilling his sorrow. You don't tell him that everything is alright. Obviously, nothing is alright. The past branded a mark on his soul. In these moments, when he is at his lowest, you understand why he possesses a sarcastic personality. Sarcasm helps him to cope with his pain. All that you can and ever will tell him is that he is safe with you and that you will be there for him as long as he wants you to be.
Ominis: "I would do anything to stop this maddening darkness inside of me. No matter how high the cost. But then I remember I needn't pay any price because you light the way out of this abyssal cavern that I call my soul."
Yes, he has dramatic tendencies, but only if he expresses his genuine feelings does he become big on words. Only the ones closest to him – you, Sebastian, and Anne - get to experience that side of him. Little side note: You are a little jealous of Anne.
You spend a lot of time in the Undercroft together, and since he can't see you, he loves to let his fingers run over your face, feeling your facial features. He loves doing that and hates when he has to stop because you either have to attend classes or Sebastian barges in with a new idea that you cannot dissuade him from. It always ends with Ominis and you helping Sebastian out to make sure he doesn't get into serious trouble.
Ominis: *his thumbs brush over your bows and the bridge of your nose* "You are dazzling."
You: *your face is flushed red as his index finger traces your mouth*
Ominis: *his other hand moves to your collarbone, and from there, it wanders precariously low. *
You: *smacking his hand away* "I know you can't see, but you were about to touch my... well, you know."
Ominis: *shrugging* "It was worth a try."
You: *your mouth agape* "Wha-"
Natsai Onai
Tumblr media
She is a very classy person regarding dating, and the most important aspect for her in a relationship is trust and respect. She abhors it when someone treats her patronizingly or disrespectfully. If you want this relationship to work, you and she have to be on eye level.
She is not a big fan of public affection. However, she does not mind it much either. She likes to hold your hand or kiss you on the cheeks. Occasionally, she holds the door open for you.
She is even more protective than Sebastian and Ominis would be in a relationship. If anyone looks at you the wrong way, her dark eyes will settle ominously and threateningly on them. The Gryffindor in her sometimes urges her to say something provoking, and if she does so, it requires you to diffuse the situation. Incidents like these are rare though, and Natsai picks her battles wisely. You don’t have anything to worry about.
*A group of students whispering and looking at you while you pass by with Natsai*
You: *ignoring them and talking in detail about how you defeated the Lord of the Coast in hopes of impressing Natsai*
Natsai: *walking up to the students and crossing her arms as she stares them down silently*
The students: *confused and scared*
Natsai: “Have you ever experienced the horrors of an angry gazelle?”
Natsai’s mother, Professor Onai, keeps a close eye on you. At some point, you contemplated dropping Divination, because whether in class or in the Great Hall, this woman watches you like a hawk. Especially after the whole ordeal with Harlow.
You: *eating breakfast in the Great Hall and looking up to the teacher's podium, only to see Natsai’s mother staring at you*
You: *turning to Natsai hastily and tapping her on the shoulder* “Natty, your mother is doing it again.”
Natsai: “Oh, don’t worry. She likes you.”
You: *breathing a sigh of relief*
Natsai: “But she said she was going to transfigure you into a toad if you were to hurt me.”
Needless to say that you and Natty spend most of your dates outside the castle in Hogsmeade, enjoying a butterbeer. Of course, the beverage tastes good, but the real reason you go to the Three Broomsticks is that you want to talk undisturbed in a secluded corner, preferably on the second floor. You talk a lot about Matabeleland and Uagadou, and Natty is glad that you are genuinely interested in her culture of origin and don’t ask questions just to be polite. Trust me, she experiences that a lot. More often than not, your talks become personal and even philosophical.
When you trust her enough, you show her the Room of Requirements. Then most of your dates take place there, away from the prying eyes of others, and she teaches you wandless magic.
Amit Thakkar
He has an absolute glow-up in the summer leading up to your seventh year at Hogwarts. Amit was cute and handsome before but… just wow! However, he is absolutely oblivious to any male or female student showing interest in him. He is too focused on studying Astronomy and Gobbledygook. Only has eyes for you anyway, his beloved star.
*You and Amit are spending time at the Astronomy Tower, looking at the stars*
You: “Amit, they were definitely hitting on you earlier. Did you not notice?”
Amit: *staring into his telescope* “I only noticed you.”
He is not good at expressing his feelings. He shows his love by comparing you to stars and things that he likes, which sometimes goes horribly wrong.
Amit: *showing you his map of the night sky while you study in the library* “You remind me of the Scorpion constellation.”
You: “Oh, why is that?”
Amit: “Well, the Scorpion looks just as courageous and powerful as you when you return from your frequent excursions all muddy… and smelly…and covered in grime… barely holding on to life—”
You: “Stop it, Amit.”
Since we are already talking about your adventures outside of Hogwarts... Amit is worried sick when you don’t show up to classes because that is a clear indication that you are out in the wild, risking your life. Again. He always covers for you, though, when a teacher inquires about your absence. Unfortunately, he is bad at lying. When you return from your adventures, he is mad at you and scolds you tirelessly. Amit doesn’t even want to know what you have been up to because his poor heart cannot take hearing about the perils you found yourself in. He helps to clean the grime off your face with a handkerchief and fusses about your appearance. In these moments, he behaves like a worried parent. The handkerchief he uses has his initials stitched on it. By now, you have a whole stack of these handkerchiefs in your dorm room.
Professor Sharp: *checking the class attendance and noticing that you are missing* “Where is Mr/Ms (Your Surname)?”
Amit: *feels already guilty that he is about to lie* “Ah… ehm, Professor Sharp, I fear that they fell… ehm… yes, exactly, they fell off their broom. They are currently in the hospital wing…” *hunches his shoulders forward slightly to hide from the skeptical glances of the other students thrown his way*
Imelda: “That’s simply impossible, Amit. They are almost as good at flying as I am. I want to stress the almost, though. No one is as good as me.”
Amit: *panicking and becoming angry* “Yes, Imelda, but accidents happen to the best of us. Don’t they?”
Imelda: “They don’t happen to me.”
Amit: *his head falls on the table in frustration, but he lifts it up right away and apologizes to Professor Sharp for violating the social codex of good behavior* “My behavior was highly improper, Sir.”
You and Amit fulfill the stereotype of a goody-two-shoes falling in love with a daredevil and vice versa. You are over the moon and back for each other. Amit can’t stress enough how you are like the sun and moon. You are opposites that sought to unite your differences.
You: *making your way to Care for Magical Creatures*
Amit: *pulling you into an alcove, pressing you against the wall, and putting his finger to your mouth to prevent you from screeching*
You: “Amit! You are lucky I have a third sense for knowing when it’s you who ambushes me.”
Amit: “Right. Otherwise, I would have ended up like one of those dark wizards.” *brushes your hair out of your face* “Well, you know how stern I can be about time management. There is still some time until our next class starts.”
You: *giggling* “By Merlin, then don’t waste our precious time.”
Amit: *kisses you passionately*
Although Amit doesn’t want to be informed in detail about your perilous adventures, he does ask whether you have met any goblins that would help him with improving his pronunciation in Gobbledygook.
Amit: *holding your hand while you are sitting under a tree, gazing at the Great Lake* “Remember that you once told me about Garnuff and Biscuit?”
You: *rolling your eyes* “How could I forget? It was not easy to save Biscuit and the other Mooncalves from the poachers. I had to free the poor beasts from the cage they were being held in by using Alohomora, but somehow the lock didn’t react to the spell. It took me multiple tries until I got it right.”
Amit: “Would you mind introducing me to Garnuff? I would like to improve my Gobbledygook.”
You: *kissing him on the cheek* “Not at all.”
His parents love you, and they are already planning your wedding, although you and Amit are not thinking about that at all. Not yet, that is.
Poppy Sweeting
Tumblr media
Poppy is very serious when it comes to relationships. She does not take them lightly and intends to show her true self to her romantic partner.
Poppy: *looking seriously at you after you confessed to her* "I like you, too. But if we are going to do this, then it is all or nothing."
Poppy grew up in a company of poachers because her parents were part of said company. Early on, she realized that the harm her parents caused the magical beasts was immoral. She has a strong sense of what is wrong and what is right. Since she could never identify with the lifestyle of her parents, she has always felt like an outsider. That is partly the case because she has a strong personality and despises the thought of altering herself just to be liked. Also, her past caused her to be more emotionally mature than her peers.
You: "Poppy, maybe you should go to Hogsmeade with the others. They invited you, after all. You might make new friends."
Poppy: "I don't want to go. I have seen how Violet McDowell and Grace Pinch-Smedly sneer at other people behind their backs. They just need someone to look down upon so they feel better. At least I have enough self-confidence to define my worth solely by my standards and virtues."
You: *sighing, knowing that she is right* "A butterbeer with Highwing in the Room of Requirement it is, then."
Once she realizes she can show her true colors around you without having to be afraid of being judged or shunned, she becomes the embodiment of THE loyal Hufflepuff. She always has your back, no matter what. Also, she is so wholesome! Together, you spend a lot of your time in your Vivarium, where she is so busy with the beasts that she sometimes forgets you are there. But you are just happy to see her smiling, uninhibited and free.
*You and Poppy are spending time in the Vivarium*
Poppy: *looking in your direction and running towards you* "Oh, you are so cute!"
You: *your ears turn red and you bashfully open your arms for a hug*
Poppy: *rushes past you*
You: *turning around confused, only to see Poppy hugging the Irondale Thief, a Niffler, who sticks out his tongue at you, smiling smugly*
Poppy does not mind public displays of affection, but kissing in front of others is as far as she would go. Make-out sessions are reserved for more private locations. Her love language is being attentive to you. She makes sure you eat enough and listens earnestly when something is weighing heavily on you.
Poppy: *seeing that you are unfocused in Charms* "Hey, what is wrong?"
You: "I have been thinking about Professor Fig lately. I miss him."
Poppy: "I see. How about we eat something after class and talk about your grief?"
You: *kissing her when Professor Hecat is not looking* "Sounds perfect."
Poppy is your little ray of sunshine, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. Her grandma adores you and writes you letters, too. Occasionally, she sends you sweets or practical stuff like woolen gloves/scarves. Basically, anything that keeps you warm during the colder months.
Three’s a Crowd
pairing: sebastian sallow x ominis gaunt x reader
summary: it’s the next school year after you have defeated ranrok while saving hogwarts in the process. you’d think that all of the students would treat you nicely and see you as a hero but it was quite the opposite. the only time they ever left you alone was when you were with your best friends, one day someone slipped up in front of you three….
note: more of a friendship type story? i wanted something cute with our boys
warnings: mentions and acts of bullying from randoms
Tumblr media
“alright class that will be all for today, be sure to study up on the pages i have assigned for you tonight” professor weasley announces while dismissing all of you
“ah y/n, will you please come up here before you leave to help me with something?” she says while walking towards her desk
you give her a nod and gather up all your books
“typical, of course she’d ask the teachers pet for help” you hear a slytherin boy huff behind you while snickering amongst others
you turn around with a scowl on your face, but quickly turn back around when you saw how many of them were there looking at you. you really did not want to deal with them all today
you quickly grab your books and make your way towards professor weasley
after a small talk about some new field guide pages she located for you in lower hogsfield you make your way out of the classroom in hopes you wouldn’t run into anyone
of course you thought too soon, as there was a group of slytherin students standing against the wall waiting for you to walk out of the class
“well well well, isn’t it the teacher pet” one boy says as they start to surround you
“could we just not today? i still don’t know why you feel so irritated with me…” you say looking down at your shoes, really wanting to disappear into the ground
“you know exactly why” the boy sneered as he slams your books to the ground “thinking you are some kind of hero, we all know you are just a show off that stole house points from us. you don’t deserve to be here you know” he says kicking your books away
the others laugh at his actions and whisper amongst each other
“everyone knows hufflepuffs are just crybabies” he says inching closer to your face
you wanted to cry, you wanted to scream for some kind of help but it was no use. everyone seemed to scatter away once the interaction started
“are you gonna cry out for sebastian? or ominis? they can’t protect you forever. even they will eventually see how pathetic you are” he says with gritted teeth before motioning everyone to “come on”
as they all walk past you, some bump your shoulder while others kick your books further away from you
you stand still, staring at your shoes until you don’t hear anyone anymore. you quickly go to pick up your books and start walking towards the boathouse, hoping for some privacy, as you made it to the top of the steps you feel hot tears starting to roll down your face
no no, i can’t cry. i shouldn’t cry
picking up the pace quickly down the stairs before anyone sees you like this, you thought to your self. you did feel pathetic, you couldn’t even stand up for yourself, you’re suppose to be some kind of hero?
“y/n hey! whoa slow down!”
you recognize the voice from behind you
no no no don’t see me like this
you stop in your tracks and wipe your tears the best you could before turning on your heels facing your best friends
“hello” you whimper out
“whoa y/n are you okay? what’s wrong?” sebastian says walking up to you, ominis following closely behind
“did something happen to you?” ominis asks, making his way closer to you
“no i just fell and damaged some of my books. i guess it just kind of made me emotional” you lie showing your damaged books
“i don’t suppose repairo would work on those huh” sebastian says staring down at your books
“is that what really made you upset y/n?” ominis questions, clearly not buying your story
damn him for seeing through you
“yeah i’m okay! let’s go down to the boathouse, i wanted some time away from everyone” you say, turning on your heels walking down the rest of the stairs, avoiding their questions
the boys agree while following closely behind you. you could hear them whisper to each other, talking about how there’s something definitely wrong with you. choosing to ignore them, you keep making your way down the stairs.
finally making it to the bottom, the three of you put your bags down and walk towards the end of the dock and sat down. having both boys on either side of you now, you felt a little bit more safe.
“are you sure everything’s alright y/n? you really don’t seem okay” sebastian says worried looking into your eyes “you know we can tell you’ve been crying”
“i’m okay i promise, i just have a lot of my mind” you say looking into the water
“well you know you could tell us. that’s what we are here for” ominis says leaning in closer to you
you smile at your friend, putting your hand on his shoulder “maybe soon i’ll let you guys know. but for now let’s enjoy the weather yeah?” you say reassuring your friends
sebastian gives you a huff and looks into the water
the three of you sit for a little bit, talking about your day and laughing together until a pair of girls come walking onto the docks behind you ruining the moment for the three of you
you hear the girls snicker behind you and whisper “look at her with both of them as if they would want someone like her”
“threes definitely a crowd, who does she think she is sitting with the two most popular slytherins in school” the other girl laughs in a hush tone as they walk towards the opposite side of the dock
you stiff up hearing their voices and almost immediately feel the waterworks’s coming back up
“what did you two say?” sebastian calls out, now completely turned around looking at them with an annoyed look
“o-oh nothing sebastian! we were just talking to ourselves” one of the girls says, clearly embarrassed that he heard her
ominis begins to stand up and wipe off his robes “you know i may be blind girls but i’m not deaf, you two really must work on your whispering” he says walking towards them with sebastian
“do you have something you wanted to say to us or were the two of you about to go somewhere else” sebastian says, annoyance lacing his voice
“w-we were just leaving yeah, right?” one girl speaks to her friend. the other one nods and quickly tugs her friend away back up the stairs away from the boathouse
you sit there stunned watching your friends stand up for you, shocked that they would even do such a thing. it’s not like what the girls were saying was wrong, why would they even want to be around someone like me
they both turn around a make their way back towards you
“is this what’s been going on? have people been saying stuff like this to you alot?” sebastian questions, pulling you up from your sitting position
“kind of…” you admits, looking down at your shoes
“why haven’t you told us y/n?” ominis asks
“i just didn’t want to worry you. plus it’s not like they are wrong, i don’t feel very worthy of your friendships” you say, clearly letting the bullies words infiltrate your mind
“are you kidding me? do you know all you have done for me? are we not going to discuss when i went practically crazy last year?” sebastian questions, clearly baffled with your words
“you must know how much you have done for us y/n, how much you have done for hogwarts. we are glad we met you and wouldn’t want it any other way” ominis says, placing his hand up on your shoulder, rubbing it slightly
you look up at ominis and smile at the both of them “s-sorry for saying that then… i just have been taking it from everyone for so long. you two are really the only ones i have right now” you admit, looking between the boys
“we are so glad to have met you, you truly mean everything to us. you are our charge” sebastian says with a small blush creeping up onto his freckles
you smile, your face also feeling hot as you pull both of the boys in for a hug
“i really do love the both of you” you admit, blushing into the hug
the boys hug you back, practically squeezing the air out of you in the process
“now then…” sebastian starts while pulling away “where are the others that have been messing with you”
“actually most of them of slytherin boys…”
“oh for the love of merlin”
The Devil Doesn't Bargain
Word Count: 4.5k
Themes: angst, very brief mention of abuse? Imelda is a piece of work in this but she means well
Warnings: Potential spoilers for HL. All characters are 18+ in their 7th year of Hogwarts.
If anyone’s curious this song here is the one I had on repeat while writing this
Tumblr media
Y/N twirled the quill she was holding, her work forgotten in front of her as she looked across the library to where Sebastian was sitting a few tables away. He was frowning as he looked between his textbook and the parchment he was scribbling on, deep in thought as he worked on whichever essay they had been assigned. He looked more tired than usual and Y/N couldn’t help but roam her eyes over him carefully, looking out for any other signs that everything was not okay.
Their friendship has never quite been the same after the untimely death of Solomon Sallow in their fifth year. Despite not turning Sebastian in (the easiest decision Y/N had ever made in her life) and his reassurance that he was glad they were friends and that she had come to Hogwarts, he had begun to pull away in the beginning of their sixth year. It started slowly; from passing on visits to Hogsmeade and skipping the odd class because he wasn’t feeling well to barely acknowledging her when he walked by her in corridors, not even a nod in greeting. There was only so much she could do - so much she could take - before Y/N began to retreat as well, opting instead to spend more time with Ominis, Imelda and Poppy.
“Don’t do this.” Imelda kicked Y/N under the table gently and she reluctantly tore her gaze away from Sebastian to send a glare at the raven-haired girl.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Y/N rolled her eyes and flicked through her textbook, skimming the page for the information she needed. If she hadn’t been studiously avoiding the eyes of her friends she would have noticed the look the two girls shared followed by Ominis’ quiet sigh.
“Don’t play stupid, it doesn’t suit you.”
“I see we’re back to the tough love route,” Ominis said, the corners of his mouth twitching up in amusement as his fingers trailed across the braille in his book. “Do you think this discussion will end in throwing objects again? I don’t like my odds of ducking to avoid Y/N’s inkpot.” He turned his head in Poppy’s direction, who laughed quietly even though she was watching Imelda and Y/N nervously.
“I would much rather we didn’t discuss this at all, actually,” Y/N couldn’t help but look over at Sebastian again, if only just to piss Imelda off, but was surprised to see him looking back. She offered him a small smile in greeting, her stomach flipping pleasantly when he smiled back. She quickly turned back to her work, her leg bouncing under the table in elation. Apart from occasionally meeting her eyes as they passed each other in between classes, that was the most interaction she and Sebastian had shared in months.
“I know that look in your eye,” Imelda pointed her quill at Y/N, her eyes narrowing. “Do I need to remind you of what happened the last time you thought he was coming back around?” Y/N stifled an annoyed sigh and bit the inside of her cheek, if only to stop herself from lashing out. She knew Imelda was right, knew she was only being so firm because she cared. “Sebastian Sallow doesn’t care about anyone other than himself.”
“He cares about Anne,” Y/N muttered petulantly. Imelda kicked her ankle again in reprimand and Y/N hissed in pain. “Fuck, stop kicking me!”
“Stop being stupid then!” Imelda leant forward, her voice lowering considerably.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“You’re better than this. He’s ruthless, he’s a liar. He’s abusive.”
“Sebastian would never hurt me.” If looks could kill then Imelda Reyes would be ten feet under. Y/N knew what her friend was saying came from a well-meaning place, but how dare she. How dare she speak about Sebastian that way - speak about her that way. She wasn’t an idiot any more than Sebastian was the devil Imelda made him out to be.
“Again, you mean?” Imelda snapped. Y/N sucked in a sharp breath at her words, at the sudden reminder of the agony the cruciatus curse had caused. Ominis stilled at the witch’s words, his amused expression dropping as he stopped reading his book. Poppy and Imelda shared a look between them. Y/N and Ominis never told them everything that had happened in their fifth year but they had worked out more than enough.
“You don’t know anything.” Y/N leant forward to hiss the words at her friend.
“I know you don’t want to let go.” Imelda crossed her arms and leant back in her chair, a smug expression on her face. “People talk, Y/N. Sallow’s fascination with the dark arts wasn’t exactly a secret, even before you joined the school.”
“That’s enough Imelda.” Ominis turned his head to glare at the girl, his words icy. “I thought you of all people would be above petty gossip.” His hand drifted under the table to gently squeeze Y/N’s knee, reminding her to breathe. “I may not talk to Sebastian anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’ll allow you to sit here and disparage him like this.”
“Oh? Care to tell us exactly why you both stopped talking to him after his uncle died?”
“Imelda…” Poppy had a pained expression on her face as she looked between her friends, before darting her gaze over to Sebastian, who had his head buried in a book. “You’re going too far.”
“Apparently there’s no such thing when Y/N is concerned. She’ll forgive me and come crawling back, just like she does with Sallow.”
“So what if I do?” Y/N snapped, her voice rising. Madam Scribner shushed them sharply and sent them a glare, not that Y/N could find it in herself to care as she leant across the table to growl at Imelda. “Sebastian is one of my best friends, Reyes. Present tense. I don’t care that he’s not spoken to me in months - I will always be there for those who need me. I’ll always be there if he needs me.” Y/N looked over to Sebastian as she took a steadying breath, her eyes meeting his again. He watched her carefully, his head tilted to the side as he recognised the tell-tale signs of her anger. She couldn’t bring herself to look away from him as she spoke softly, justifying it with how far away he was sitting. “You have no idea what happened to us in our fifth year, absolutely none, so don’t pretend just because you listened to some bullshit gossip that you’re omniscient. The shit we went through - what the three of us went through - was something that’s bound us together for life. You don’t experience what we did and have the ability to stop caring for the other person - not that you could ever understand that.”
Something shifted in Sebastian’s gaze as Y/N spoke about him, and a small part of her wondered if he had somehow gained the ability to read lips and knew exactly what she was saying. She swallowed heavily as the air between them changed, her heart thumping nervously in her chest. Words from their fight echoed in her mind, but they were all drowned out by every good action he had ever taken for her, every good thing he had ever said to her. Y/N wasn’t quite sure if she could ever pull away from his hypnotising stare, but it seemed Imelda had made the choice for her as she leaned across the table and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look back at them.
“You can lie to me all you want, but I was there.” Imelda held Y/N’s chin firmly as she spoke, not tight enough to hurt, but enough that she couldn’t pull away. “Every single time you came back to our dorm room crying because he hurt you, I was there. I saw what he put you through and he doesn’t care. He’s not worth it. I won’t pretend to know what happened with the three of you in fifth year but he will never change. He’s only going to hurt you over and over again and you keep letting him. The devil doesn’t settle, Y/L/N.”
Y/N finally smacked Imelda’s hand away and broke free from her grasp, her eyes burning with humiliation and anger. Poppy looked taken aback at how forceful their friend was being, while Ominis gripped the edge of the table in frustration. He couldn’t tell exactly what was happening in front of him, but the tone of voice, followed by the sharp slap of skin, was indication enough. There was a tense silence at the table as Y/N and Imelda glared furiously at each other, neither of them willing to break the silence first. Y/N blinked back the tears of frustration that were welling in her eyes and stood up, muttering to the table that she needed another book for her essay, and ignoring Poppy as she quietly called after her.
She had to pass by Sebastian’s table as she walked away, her shoulders tight with tension as she very obviously avoided his eye so that he couldn’t see her tears. He stretched his arms out casually as she moved past him, his hand brushing hers gently. Y/N didn’t know if it was an accident or not, but she didn’t let it stop her as she made her way towards the shelves she needed and rounded the corner, disappearing from the immediate eyesight of her friends (and yes, as rage inducing as Imelda was, Y/N still considered her one).
Her shoulders slumped once she was hidden from view and Y/N couldn’t help but to gently press her forehead to one of the shelves to calm the mixed emotions that were running wildly through her. She was angry at Imelda, because how dare she speak to her like that - how dare she grab her like that. She was frustrated at herself, because even though Imelda’s approach was far from ideal, she was right. Y/N always got her hopes up whenever Sebastian would flash her a warm smile in passing, and it normally led to her crying or screaming in their dorm within the week because he had gone back to his usual routine of ignoring her. The final feeling (one she didn’t want to linger on for too long) was how her heart was racing wildly as the casual touch of Sebastian’s hand as she passed by him. She didn’t want to admit what the sensation was, not even to herself, and instead tried to convince herself that the fleeting graze of his skin on hers was nothing more than an accident.
“Imelda is sorry.” Poppy said softly, her quiet footsteps stopping a couple of feet away. Y/N let out a humourless laugh and wiped away a tear before she looked over her shoulder at the Hufflepuff.
“You and I both know that’s a lie. Have Ominis and Imelda sent you to corral me back?”
“No. Imelda wanted to march over and drag you back herself but I told her to leave you alone and give you a little space. Ominis agreed with me and said he knows first hand what your anger is like?” Poppy phrased the end like a question, earning a surprised chuckle from Y/N.
“I think I’ve scarred him for life after he took my coffee from me the other morning.”
“Poor choice.” Poppy laughed softly, knowing first-hand how grumpy Y/N could be in the mornings before her caffeine. The pair fell into a comfortable silence as Y/N turned to face the shelves again and pulled a book out to see if it held any information that could help with her work.
“What is it, Poppy?”
“I don’t want to upset you any more.”
“It can’t be any worse than what Imelda said to me,” she reminds her with a sigh. After a few more seconds Poppy still hadn’t responded so Y/N closed the book and turned to face her, holding the tome to her chest as she waited.
“I just…Imelda wasn’t all wrong,” the shorter girl shrugged and offered Y/N a sheepish smile as she looked at her in surprise. “Her delivery could have been a lot better, though.”
“That’s the understatement of the year,” Y/N muttered.
“Look, you know I’m not the type to lecture and condescend. All I want - all we all want - is what’s best for you. I know you might think Sebastian is it but I don’t think he is.” Poppy lowered her voice considerably and peaked around the corner as she said his name, taking care he wasn’t around to eavesdrop.
“I thought you Hufflepuff’s always saw the best in people.”
“We’re loyal to fault, and my loyalties lie with you, not him. I’ve seen you cry over him too, Y/N. I never told anyone about the fight you two had.” Y/N stilled at her friend’s words, her mind flashing back to the argument that that had happened a few months ago. After weeks of being ignored again Y/N had finally cornered Sebastian in the Undercroft, and much like a powder keg the whole thing blew up with harsh words flying back and forth between the pair. She had finally hit him with her worst fear; that he had only stuck around with her because she was a means to an end to cure Anne. Sebastian had gone silent before nodding, and turned to leave her alone in the room, his parting words of well if that’s what you think of me echoing around her long after he had gone.
“Why?”
“Why didn’t I tell anyone?” Poppy asked. “Or why do I think he isn’t what’s right for you?”
“Both.”
“For one, Imelda would probably hunt him down and actually kill him if I told her.” Poppy tilted her head to the side, a dry smile on her face. “But mostly it was because of you. If you wanted everyone to know they would - you wouldn’t have come banging on the Hufflepuff common room door past curfew asking for me.” Y/N gave her friend a rueful smile and dropped her head back on the shelf behind her to count the ceiling tiles so that she wouldn’t cry again. “As for still being mad at him…what you said was out of line, but he never fought to correct you or prove otherwise and I watched as that killed you. No one cries like that over a friendship. You both said some vile things to each other but he ripped your heart out of your chest and I don’t think I can ever forgive him for that.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“I do.”
“I was in the wrong for saying that to him.” Either of them could have apologised. It didn’t fall to just Sebastian. Y/N had said things to him that were just as nasty - if not worse - during their fight.
“You were,” Poppy agreed, “but that still doesn’t excuse his behaviour. You always make excuses for him. I’m not going to get mad like Imelda did but I will say I’m not surprised.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s obvious you’re in love with him.” Poppy gave her a sad smile and Y/N felt her cheeks burn as she froze, her eyes wide as she looked at her friend apprehensively.
“I never said - ”
“You didn’t have to.” Poppy reached out and squeezed Y/N’s hand gently before turning to walk away again. “I know you might think he’ll change this time, and maybe he will - I really hope he does, to be fully honest with you. But just remember one thing.”
“What’s that?”
“The devil doesn’t bargain.”
Poppy walked back to their table, leaving Y/N alone with her thoughts once again. Her heart clenched painfully in her chest and a small part of her was grateful that nobody really ventured into that corner of the library as she sank to the floor slowly. She pulled her knees up, resting her forehead against them as she tried to calm her breathing and hold back a fresh wave of tears. They were right - they were always right. Sebastian did this to her constantly; he kept pulling her in only to push her away again. The last time it had happened was around their fight, and she had been a wreck for weeks because of it.
“Y/N.” A pair of feet shuffled to a stop in front of her, and Y/N felt herself go still. She would recognise his voice anywhere. It was ingrained on her very soul. He sighed quietly and she heard the shifting of fabric as she sat down across from her, his legs stretched out in front of him so he could tap her ankle gently with his shoe. “I know you can hear me.”
“What do you want, Sebastian?” she asked, not raising her head to look at him, even though it muffled her voice. If she looked at him all resolve would break and she would either scream at him for leaving her or turn into a blubbering mess and she didn’t particularly care for either of those reactions at that moment.
“Look at me.”
“No.” Sebastian laughed, a genuine laugh which sent shivers down her spine. Y/N slowly lifted her head but still didn’t look at him and instead opted to stare at his polished black shoes.
“You’ve always been so stubborn.”
“I learnt from the best.”
“That Slytherin pride really did hit us both hard,” Sebastian mused. He was quiet for a few moments before he crossed his legs and scooted closer to her so that he was almost sitting on her feet. “Look at me, darling.” Y/N hated the way her body reacted to the term of endearment. She hated that her stomach flipped pleasantly, that her heart started to beat erratically, that she could feel her face burn. She finally looks up at him, meeting his warm brown eyes with a withering glare.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Are we still pretending you don’t secretly like it when I call you darling?”
“I’ll punch you.”
“Probably,” he chuckles quietly and reaches out to brush a stray tear from the corner of her eye. “Who did this?”
“Why do you care?”
“Contrary to what you shouted at me in the Undercroft, I have and always will care about you.”
“You have a funny way of showing it.”
“So we circle back to the pitfalls of Slytherin pride?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at her. “You could have just as easily spoken to me first.” Y/N looked away from him, turning her head so that she could see Madam Scribner standing at her desk and watching them both like a hawk. He was right. Hadn’t she just thought and said the same thing when she was speaking to Poppy? “Was it Reyes?”
“Will you curse her if it was?” Y/N couldn’t stop the words from tumbling out of her mouth and she instantly grimaced. “I didn’t mean - ”
“You did and that’s okay.” Sebastian pulled his hand away with a defeated sigh. “I haven’t touched dark magic since that night in the catacombs. I know some people think otherwise, but they’re wrong.” He catches the confusion on her face as she wonders how he knows that and runs a hand through his hair. “You’re all not nearly as silent as you think you are.”
“You heard everything?”
“Including your speech about how you’ll always be there for me.”
“What about…?” she looks away, stomach churning with nerves as she thought about what Poppy had said to her. ‘It’s obvious you’re still in love with him’.
“Your conversation with Sweeting stays between the two of you. That felt private.”
“And what we were saying at the table wasn’t?”
“Not when you were looking at me like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like I’m worth saving.” Y/N felt her heart crack in her chest at the look on his face. She slowly shifted so that she was crossing her legs instead and reached out to brush the back of his hand.
“Everyone is worth saving.” He gives her a sad smile at that, noting that she still won’t quite meet his eye as she chews on her lower lip nervously. They sit in silence for a few moments as Sebastian watches the cogs turn in her head before she lets out a quiet sigh and finally looks at him. “I’m sorry for what I said to you.”
“I’m sorry I treated you so poorly that you even thought about it in the first place.”
“I didn’t mean it. I just…I was angry and hurt and I lashed out and wanted you to feel even a fraction of the pain I was feeling. I know you were never just using me in the hopes of finding a cure for Anne. You didn’t even know about my ability to take pain away until we had been searching for a cure for months.”
“It doesn’t matter if you did mean it - I forgive you,” he murmured, taking her hand in his. He mulls over his next words carefully, a small frown on his face. “I was stupid to push you away. I thought you both would be better off without me - especially you. I led you down a dark path and never stopped to consider the consequences of doing so. I ruined your life.”
“No you didn’t,” Y/N tightened her grip on his hand so that he would meet her eye. “I’m my own person, Sebastian. I chose to follow you down that path. You always asked if I wanted to learn and I said yes. You never forced me into anything. You didn’t ruin my life.”
“What do you think will happen if anyone ever finds out what happened to Solomon?” his voice lowered considerably as he spoke. “You’re not just going to get a slap on the wrist, Y/N.”
“No one will find out, Seb. Even if they do, it was my choice. I was the one who told Ominis we shouldn’t turn you in.”
“You…why?” Sebastian’s voice cracked as he asked the question and Y/N saw tears start to well in his eyes. “Why would you risk everything for me like that?”
“Because I - ” Y/N broke off as she felt her face burn. Now wasn’t the time to accidentally tell him that she loved him. “Because I would do anything for you.”
“You said that in the present tense.”
“I did.”
“Even after all the horrible things I said to you?”
“I wasn’t exactly a saint back, Sebastian.”
“I don’t deserve you.”
“You do.” Y/N leaned forward and kissed his cheek before she could process the decision. “You deserve everything, Seb. You deserve to be happy.”
“You made me happy - you make me happy. Present tense,” he squeezes her hands gently. “I was an idiot to ever push you away.”
“Well, you won’t hear me disagree with that,” Y/N teased. Sebastian laughed quietly and she felt like a weight she didn’t even notice got lifted from her shoulders. “If you ever do this again…”
“Duly noted, no need to continue with that threat,” he chuckled. Footsteps walked in their direction - too heavy to be Poppy or Imelda and too purposeful to be any other student. The tell tale glow of Ominis’ wand lit up the stacks moment before he rounded the corner and came to a stop a few feet away from the pair.
“Y/N? Are you still here?”
“I am.” Ominis’ wand wavered to the left slightly, a barely perceptible frown on his face as he wondered who else was present, before he exhaled.
“Hello, Sebastian.”
“Ominis.” The pair stared at each other tensely (or at least, Sebastian stared at Ominis, whilst the latter looked slightly to his left) before Ominis turned to Y/N with a resigned expression.
“Shall I tell Imelda you’ve left? I can bring your things to the common room later.”
“She’s never going to believe it.”
“No, she won’t.” Ominis rolled his eyes and leaned against the bookshelf slightly. “She put two and two together the minute Sebastian walked in this direction, but Poppy is keeping her at bay.”
“She is?”
“She told me to tell you if you hurt Y/N again she will set a Hungarian Horntail on you,” Ominis turned back in Sebastian’s direction as he delivered the threat. “I don’t think I need to add what I’ll do if I ever have to listen to her cry again because of you.” Y/N looked away from Sebastian as his head snapped back in her direction, a look of distress on his features at knowing just how much pain he had caused her.
“Understood.” Sebastian stood up and brushed the dust from his trousers before offering Y/N his hand. She hesitated for a few seconds but took it nonetheless and let him pull her to her feet. Sebastian didn’t let go once she was standing and instead he laced their fingers together and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Thank you, Ominis.”
“Don’t thank me yet. If it wasn’t for Poppy I would jinx you where you stand.”
“Well, thank Sweeting for me then.” There was a small grin on Sebastian’s face as he carefully tugged at Y/N’s hand, silently asking if she would go with him. She nodded before releasing his fingers so that she could pull Ominis into a tight hug. He froze, not expecting the contact, before weaving his wand-free hand around her frame and hugging her back.
“You tell me if he tries anything,” he muttered in her ear.
“Right after I hex him first.”
“That’s my girl.” Ominis released her with a chuckle and Y/N wandered back to Sebastian, who placed a hand on her lower back as he led her out of the library. They walked in silence until they reached the north exit for the castle and Sebastian let out a long breath and turned to look at her.
“I need you to know I’ll never treat you like that again. I can’t even begin to make it all up to you, but I’m willing to spend the rest of my days doing so,” he said. Y/N reached out for his hand and laced their fingers together again as she pulled him towards the gate that would lead them towards the path for Hogsmeade.
“On one condition.”
“Anything.”
“You forgive me for how I spoke to you and what I accused you of,” she came to a stop and turned to look at him.
“Done,” he said quietly, a soft smile on his face. “I forgave you for that a long time ago, Y/L/N.” He brushed some hair behind her ear, his touch lingering on her cheek before he cleared his throat and looked away, his cheeks tinted pink. Y/N felt her stomach flip pleasantly and couldn’t help but smile shyly as they turned back towards the path. Now wasn’t the time to consider her feelings for him, or to tease him for his blush. But one day the bridges between them would be mended completely, and so she stored the information away for then.
Missing Time Pt.2
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
Here it is yall, the very unexpectedly highly requested soft part 2 to this request i got.
How do you think Sebastian would react after getting released/escaping Azkaban and finding out MC was pregnant when he got sent away?
Warings: none. It's pretty fluffy.
Obvious implied Sebastian x MC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been roughly a little over 2 weeks since Sebastian decided to try to be a part of his daughter, MC, and Ominis' little life. But he still couldn't muster to walk up the steps and knock on the door. He was scared they wouldn't want him. That they would be frightened of him. That they wouldn't forgive him for what he'd done.
So he took every fleeting moment possible to talk to his daughter in secret. He knew he should teach her better than to talk to strangers, but he wasn't just some stranger or old family friend. Of course, she didn't know that just yet.
He found himself afraid to tell her, terrified that she would be disappointed this was the father she had been waiting for her whole life. He felt unworthy. That she deserved better than him, despite how desperately he wanted to be that father for her.
So, instead of telling her the truth, he decided to just be her friend. Have little chats with her, still under the guise of being a 'family friend', which wasn't exactly a lie. He just didn't tell her he was technically a part of said family.
He knew how wrong that seemed, but this was his daughter. He had the right to get to know her, and he wasn't ready to insert himself into their lives completely. Not just yet.
Today was different from the rest. Today, little Anne found him while he was sitting at the edge of a dock near their home. It was just far enough away, so he didn't seem suspicious.
"Hey! Im so glad i found you!" She grinned, running up to him
He chuckled "found me?"
"Yes! I've been looking for you all over!" She beamed excitedly."I have something for you"
"What? For me?" He smiled at her softly
"Yeah, it's just a little something I made," she said timidly. "I really hope you like it"
Sebastian watched as she pulled a little ring out of her pocket. She smiled at it fondly and held it out to him. He took it from her with gentle hands.
Upon inspection, he saw that it was beautifully handcrafted with vines and branches. They all swirled around each other so intricately, so perfectly. He was astounded by how well it was made. She was already so talented, and his heart absolutely swelled.
"You.. made this? For me?" Tears pricked and the corners of his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away. Not wanting to have to explain why this was making him so emotional.
"Well, I was out exploring, and I saw some pretty green branches, and for some reason, it made me think of you." she smiled at him warmly, "and then I had this idea to -"
"Anne?! Anne, where are you?"
Sebastian heard a familiar panicked voice cut their conversation short.
He completely froze. Not daring to move and inch as a wave of fear washed over him
"Anne Sallow, where did you run off to?!"
His heart skipped a beat, and he finally turned to look at the source of the voice. Anne Sallow. She gave her his last name.
"There you are! How many times have I told you not to -"
They finally noticed his presence, turning towards him with an unsure look. It was as if they were deciding whether or not it was actually him.
"Sebastian..?"
Sebastian took a moment to gather himself. Going over the words he'd practiced a million times in his head. But none of those words came out. All that did was a simple
"Hello, Ominis."

Could you handle me? | Sebastian Sallow x fem!Reader | Chapter Two
Word count: 1.3k
Summary: Sebastian is always flirting with you and up in your personal space. So you decide to finally let him taste his own medicine.
Warnings: aged up characters, possessive!Sebastian, pining, tension (will likely lead to smut in a following chapter), minors dni
~ chapter one ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your hands, your eyes and your goddamn lips...they were on Sebastian's mind the whole time since that evening.
He just never expected you to be so...blunt...so forthright.
His flirting and your wriggling beneath him was just so normal to him. He just loved to play with you to see all of your reactions to his flirting. It was adorable to see you at a loss for words, your cheeks burning up in a pinkish blush and your eyes darting everywhere, not able to hold his unrelenting eye contact.
But this was entirely new.
You telling him he couldn't handle you?
Your dark lustful eyes?
Your forceful hands?
He did not expect it at all and exactly this piqued his interest.
What else didn't he know about you?
What else was there to uncover?
Oh, you were like a mysterious cryptic book, he got his hands on and he was only able to decipher a few pages. And like he always did with those types of books, he would devour them completely, read everything a thousand times, trying to uncover all their secrets and mysteries.
But it was hard to do so, because since that evening you either did as if nothing happened or you vanished into the masses so quickly, almost like you wanted to get away from him.
Though, nothing like a good chase to get what he wants, he thought to himself, when his eyes finally settled on your figure in a huge crowd of students, which were rushing towards their next class.
You looked ethereal between all of those boring faces passing by. Your hair was glowing in the sun, which was shining through the huge arches. It made your face glisten like it was kissed by a million stars. You have stopped there, right in that outdoor hallway, your eyes closed as you seemed to enjoy the warmth from the sun that broke through the british gray winter clouds. Your chest rose and fell again looking so inviting, as you breathed in the cold air. It almost felt forbidden being able to see you like this.
This possessive side of Sebastian urged him to pull you away from all the gazes that were probably fixed on your body as well. He wanted to be the only one allowed to look at you like this. To take in your beauty without any restraints. To let his own body crave yours, like he did in this very moment.
He needed to know, if your words this evening held more truth to them, than he admitted.
He wanted to see if he was able to handle more of you...and if you were able to handle him.
As his mind went into a frenzy, his legs made their way over to you with determination, stopping one step too close to you. He really didn't care if anyone would think you two could be more than friends. In that case, they would finally know to never look at you with hungry eyes again, because you belonged to Sebastian and only to him.
Your eyes opened, when you felt this breath of air that swung with Sebastian's confidence hit your face. And your eyes grew wide, your blush almost immediately visible.
"Come with me."
It was a dark and commanding tone, raw and rough around the edges and it sent you into a headspace that could make you follow anything he would demand of you. It was scary and exhilarating at the same time.
Sebastian grabbed your wrist with a rather less gentle touch, pulling you into a more secluded area of the castle and you followed him so willingly, making you look like a fool for attempting to avoid him.
Watching him closely, your wrist got set aflame through his touch and you noticed his erratic breathing. He looked around, as if he was making sure you wouldn't be seen nor disturbed by anyone.
Suddenly he pushed you against a nearby wall. Your breath completely left your lungs when your back hit the cold stone wall.
You expected everything except this.
Sebastian never was this forceful.
He trapped your body with his arms, palms pressed against the wall next to your head. He easily hovered over you, the growth spurt in the last year becoming very apparent at this very moment.
You didn't dare to say anything, not trusting your own voice.
"You're avoiding me."
This wasn't a question. It was a very clear observation from Sebastian and a true one as well.
But you didn't want him to know how true his words were.
You gulped, fighting the dryness in your throat, before you spoke.
"No, you must be imagining this. I'm not avoidi-"
"Stop playing with me, woman."
Fuck, how did him acknowledging you as a woman make you feel so weak in the knees?
"I know you're avoiding me. Tell me why."
Oh, you wanted to oblige, you really wanted to, but you didn't.
"I-I don't know what y-you're talking about."
You couldn't help the shivering in your voice, as he moved closer to you, his knee brushing against your thigh, his hot breath fanning over your flushed face.
Your mind was all over the place, as his eyes seemed to pry your heart open to reveal all those deep feelings you harbored for him since fifth year.
"Tell me, Y/N."
The way your name rolled of his lips...his lips, which were so incredibly close to yours...it ignited something inside you and it spread like a fucking wildfire.
When his hand reached down to lay on your waist, you twitched against it, getting more overwhelmed with this sudden "attack" from him.
You tried to keep yourself from falling to your knees by pressing your hands against the wall behind you, but as his knee hovered over the place you wanted Sebastian most, you were sure, your legs were going to betray you.
"Tell me why you've been avoiding me since that evening."
He whispered those words right into your ear, his lips ghosting over your sweet neck and you involuntarily gave him more access, by turning your head away from his voice. When he pressed his mouth against your skin, you sucked in a sharp breath, grasping both sides of his shirt.
You weren't able to form any coherent words, your mouth agape with shaky breaths tickling your tongue. Oh, your shaky breaths almost turned into a moan, when his wet tongue darted towards your most sensitive spot on your neck.
He just didn't stop, his hand circling your waist, his knee pushing against the spot, where all the heat of your body gathered.
This was just too much.
Your best friend shouldn't do this to you, no matter how much you craved it.
So with all of the strength remaining in your body, you put your hands on his chest pushing him away and holding him there for a moment.
"Please, stop."
You could feel your whole face was blushing in a deep red. Sebastian's gaze was so deep and dangerous, that you almost relaxed your muscles again, to let him devour you, but instead you gave him another push, so he wasn't trapping you with his hands anymore.
You were completely overwhelmed with this and you needed to get away. You needed to be able to breathe again.
So before he could say anything in return, you took off running.
He watched you leave so hurriedly. Was he reading your signals so wrong? Did he cross a line that he shouldn't have?
Oh, it was so incredibly frustrating.
Sebastian groaned, punching the wall with his fist, regretting it in an instant.
