"What is the best story you have written?"
How am I supposed to look somebody in the eye, and tell them that for my best piece of work, I concider an angsty satosugu fanfiction that I wrote in the middle of a mental breakdown in December of 2022?

The way Suguru looks at Satoru has me by the neck already, but the way Satoru looks at Suguru?? Oh my god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s his entire world right there. I don’t know how to explain it but these frames just scream “all Satoru sees is Suguru.” Like. He adores Suguru.
Tumblr media
Don’t get me started on the look in his eyes when Suguru expresses his concern over his overuse of his technique. The vulnerability? The way he looks surprised, the way it looks as though he feels seen for the first time ever? There is something so tender about this. I can’t even describe it but it’s just there.
Tumblr media
“I’m fine.”
Satoru knew damn well he wasn’t okay. No one sneaks up on him. I know he had to have been freaking out on the inside. How did he sneak in? How did I not sense him? No one gets behind me, no one is stronger than me, what’s going to happen?
But he held it together for Suguru. I feel like it’s instinct for him to automatically reassure Suguru, regardless of if it’s true or not. He schooled that expression on his face and looked so gently at Suguru…man.
Tumblr media
You can just see how absolutely devastated this man is in the moment he has to kill the man he loves.
Tumblr media
The split second he defied all logic and believed that, even though he’d killed Suguru with his own hands, Suguru had somehow survived? The elation on his face to see him one last time?
Tumblr media
“It might be goodnight for me, but it’s about time for you to wake up.” This is the smile he had on his face before calling out to Suguru, attempting to reach into the land of the dead for him. It’s like in this frame instead of the monster inhabiting Suguru, he just saw Suguru.
Tumblr media
The last thing he sees before he gets sealed is Suguru’s face, smiling. I can’t imagine the anguish he must have felt here. It’s almost as if he’s clinging to it, trying to pretend that it really is Suguru. Trying to convince himself what he knows isn’t true.
Conclusion: there is no one that loves anyone as much as Satoru loves Suguru.

how can people say stsg isn’t canon when actual official art shows gojo about to gleefully slap geto’s cheeks so hard he sends him flying into space

thinking of satoru who kisses so sweetly, he loves to kiss your nose, your cheeks and lips. he loves to kiss along your jaw and hear you giggle, it’s his favorite thing in the whole world.
meanwhile suguru kisses with so much passion. he leaves you gasping for air, clinging onto his shirt and blushing, he bites your bottom lip and pushes his tongue into your mouth. having you look up at him so shyly leaves his heart stuttering.

i can't get over the fact that suguru used past tense
「he was my best friend」
while satoru uses present tense
「my best friend found it... my one and only」
he spent over a decade under the impression that satoru was mad at him. that they were no longer best friends because he left.
「we got into a fight and, well...」
well, what, suguru? i don't think he even knows how to finish that sentence if he were saying it to himself.
but maybe he uses past tense because he himself removed the title from his name. maybe he didn't feel worthy enough to be gojo satoru's best friend.
maybe he thinks he knows satoru better than he actually does. because maybe sometimes there was a bitter taste on his tongue whenever he called his found home his family. thinking it would offend satoru. "we were your family" he could practically hear gojo say. maybe sometimes he turns to his family with a sad smile because he once used to turn around to see different people. the people he left to protect. what he was doing was for them. for satoru, for shoko, for nanami, for haibara, for amanai and kuroi. so he wouldn't have to watch them all drop like flies just like haibara did.
maybe he put the title on hold. until one day. until one day he could face satoru and tell him that they didn't have to be strong anymore. they could be weak and they could be together because there was nothing in the way anymore.
「trust? i thought that was something i lost a long time ago... at least curse me a little at my end」

"if i get high"
MDNI 18+ | satosugu x reader collection
It's the only time Gojo likes to take it slow. He fucks you in deep, languid strokes that have you fisting the sheets and arching up into him. Any other time, he'd be in a rush, unable to help himself from burying himself inside of you from how much he lusted over you.
"Mmm," you whine. "Feels s' good." His cock slides in and out and you're able to feel every inch, every vein as he stretches you out. You can feel every pore on your skin, every fine hair that litters his body as it moves over yours possessively. It's as though you've died and gone elsewhere- with how weightless you feel, there's no other explanation.
"I know," he breathes, chuckling darkly. "You gonna cum already? It's only been- ahh, a minute and you're squeezin' me so tight..."
Geto is already such a sensual person while sober, able to turn your brain to mush with just his voice and a few light touches. After the edible kicks in, you're able to feel every nerve ending on your body. Suguru's got you in a mating press as he bottoms out into you, going so deep that it's got you seeing stars. You let out a shaky moan at the sudden relief of finally getting to feel the tip of cock nudge into your cervix.
"Hold on to me," Suguru says. You obey without thinking, sliding your arms around his torso as he grabs you by the hips and starts thrusting impossibly faster as little whimpers escape your lips.

Hello, I have a question about whether I considered Suguru's best friend because he didn't see that his best friend was sick, that makes me so angry. One thing I'm sure of is that if it were the other way around, Suguru would definitely help Gojo and that's the saddest thing.
Tumblr media
I'll start by saying that, canonically, Satoru was Suguru's best friend and Suguru was Satoru's best friend. Gratuitous justification isn't really needed since it's in the source material and not just implied.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I agree that, had it been the other way around, Suguru would have noticed but that's because Suguru was the more emotionally intelligent person in their relationship. He was sensitive, humble and was able to put others at ease, earning the approval of Haibara, the respect of Nanami and, of course, his close friendship with Shoko and Gojo.
How did Gojo (and Shoko, for that matter) miss such telltale signs? Well, it happens all the time, doesn't it? Isn't that why people always say, "Check on your strong friends,"? The fact is, you don't know until you know. They never could have imagined he'd veer so far off path, Suguru was the very best among them.
Tumblr media
How he goes off to spiral in the shadows alone despite Shoko and Satoru looking back - all the easter eggs will never not get me.
How could Gojo not see what was happening? The simplest way to explain it is... people can only meet you as deeply as they've met themselves. Gojo can have all the history and Digimon at his disposal but this abundance of information makes him a mile wide and an inch deep, emotionally. Even after Geto’s defection, his greatest loss, he still lacks the emotional intelligence to prepare Yuji for the pitfalls every sorcerer must learn to bounce back from. But now, he’s aware of this flaw, knows what can happen and he subsequently enlists the help of Nanami to proactively address that because he still isn’t the man who knows how to navigate that. Even then. Doesn't make what happened to Geto any less tragic. Also doesn’t change the fact that they were each others’ best friends because we accept the flaws of the people we love. Geto knew Gojo had the emotional competence of a spoon. It’s why he always had to nag him. Gojo’s persisting acceptance of Geto, despite everything, shows how deep their friendship was, reciprocally, despite his shortcomings.
If only Geto knew that.

I wanted to make a post on the number of times Gojo and Geto “meet halfway” even beyond death. Just a complication of moments!
Spoilers if you’re anime-only.
Gojo Satoru stops in his tracks upon hearing something roll onto the floor; quickly followed by the voice of someone whom he killed with his own hands.
More under the cut:
Tumblr media
Gate open!
The same words upon a 10-year separation. Not “hisashiburi ne” but “hisashi ne” (a shortened version):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Worth noting: the flashback image of Gojo after killing Geto looks eerily like Toji upon death. There is a deliberate parallel.)
Tumblr media
Gojo tries to make sense of what is happening and his six eyes registers the physical information that it’s really Geto.
In processing this he is momentarily flooded with memories of the best 3 years of his life - the Blue Spring 青い春.
Ironically like being flooded with information after being hit by unlimited void, as there have been others who pointed out.
Tumblr media
He was rendered immobile with information on his precious memories and that’s what seals him.
His mind was matching up information from his physical senses (six eyes) and his soul (presenting as feeling).
Tumblr media
And his soul refutes the information. His mind knows Geto wouldn’t do this. Thus, he knows otherwise.
Here is where he reverts back to “ore” 俺 as his raw and authentic self presents itself for a the moment where he is experiencing heightened emotions from the sacrilege before him that gets his trapped.
And it all kinda sucks because seems unfair that Gojo is going to suffer again for what seems to be a heavily one-sided pining for his best friend.
But then, Geto, who really is unable to react (because it isn’t Geto, as he is actually dead) ... still manages to do something.
Although like a dragonfly whose head has been cut off, it responds. His body appears to be imprinted with information despite his brain (mind) and soul not being there.
Tumblr media
As someone pointed out on Twitter/now X, Gojo reacts to Geto’s words/presence and Geto react to his name being called (and possibly also from seeing Gojo in that position):
Tumblr media
Gege, thank you for making this a reciprocal moment.
That smug lil smile from Gojo also kinda depicts a small victory that he made that happen. Something, as a reader, we appreciate that even the ancient Kenjaku has never encountered before - the vessel reacting whilst he is the host.
It’s poetic how they react to each other despite the situation where one is practically dead but can still depict sentiments of a strong bond.
Gege follows up on this with a moment between Toji and Megumi to illustrate another example of parallelism and emphasis, just 7-8 chapters later:
Tumblr media
The narrator doesn’t finish the sentence, but it hints at how the remnants of a soul can still persist within the body if it’s important enough. Leading the body to react even if the brain isn’t there in Geto’s case, and the body in a vessel can still react even if it’s soul information wasn’t summoned by the curse technique user.
It also hints at the parallels between Geto and Toji who died after yielding and “burying” a part of themselves.
The reciprocal nature of Gojo and Geto extends to the afterlife scene.
Can I just add (again) that I love how they’re sitting closer together than compared with when the chapter began? 🤭 yes I like repeating myself because i dedicated a whole post on it before
And I like how they meet halfway there too.
Tumblr media
Isn’t it romantic somehow? Last person Geto saw before his death was Gojo, and the first person Gojo saw was Geto in the afterlife.
I wrote this in another post but I’ll include that here too: the top bit is in reference to Geto’s death where his reaction acknowledges that he doesn’t feel he deserves the loving words, but rather a curse at the end.

And taken from my other whopper of a post on souls because I’m too lazy to write it all again:
Tumblr media
The end.
Thank you for sharing in my satosugu indulgence.
Please feel free to share and reblog with other moments worth pointing out! ╰(*´︶`*)╯~♡

Am I the only one who gets genuinely annoyed, when in fanfictions Satoru and Suguru call each other by their surnames? Like, one of the most important things in their relationship is the fact that they call each other by their first names. It shows how close they are. And they didn't stop calling each other by their names even after Geto committed genocide, which really matters when you look at the complex of their relationship. They were still close in their hearts and minds. So when in fanfictions, where they have "established relationship" they call each other by "Gojo" and "Geto" it's really frustrating for me.

Wild.
Satoru: is the strongest sorcerer but can’t hurt Suguru no matter what he’s become
Suguru: knows he’s Satoru’s only weakness but doesn’t use that against Satoru, never raises a hand against him even when he’s dying
Satoru: so guilt ridden for killing Suguru because it’s the last thing he ever wanted to do so he doesn’t dispose of his body the way he should have, causes Kenjaku to overtake Suguru’s body
Kenjaku: inherits Suguru’s memories and understands the depth of the bond between Suguru and Satoru, becoming aware that Suguru is the only weakness Satoru has, launches the Shibuya Prison Realm sealing plan
Satoru: kills thousands of transfigured humans in almost 300 seconds, kills Hanami with minimal effort, uses a Domain Expansion in attempt to exorcize the curses he’s fighting
Kenjaku: uses Suguru’s voice and face to call out to Satoru
Satoru: stops dead in his tracks, the fight leaves his body, happiness fills him for the split second he thinks Suguru is alive in front of him
Kenjaku: successfully traps him and renders him incapable of using his technique
Satoru: realizes that the man in front of him is not really Suguru because Suguru would never have actually hurt him and that’s why his soul knows it isn’t him despite his Six Eyes telling him it’s his cursed energy, calls out to Suguru and tells him to wake up
Suguru: is dead and yet at the sound of Satoru’s voice tries his damnedest to kill Kenjaku with the control he has over his arm
Kenjaku: is amused because no one has ever tried to fight back from beyond the grave before, concludes that the soul is part of the body, and the body is part of the soul
So much language involving souls and their significance. Satoru’s soul recognized the absence of Suguru’s, yet somehow believed he was still there enough to call out to him, and Suguru’s soul answered in spite of all logic.
I really hope things work out differently in the manga so that we can get a fitting culmination to the way things were built up here, Suguru couldn’t have just come back for a split second for nothing. I’m holding out hope.

my favourite thing about gojo and geto’s relationship is how it’s so breathtakingly intimate. it goes deeper than their matching names, the yin/yang symbolism, the dichotomous light/dark ideologies. it’s woven into the very fabric of their characters.
when you watch them together, there’s a pervasive sense that we, the viewer, are almost intruding. they’re always laughing at a joke we don’t understand, riling each other up in the way only they can, sharing the same frequency and making decisions without even needing to speak. we, as the audience, consistently have the feeling that we’re walking in on something that’s meant to be shared by two people alone.
it’s in how they refer to each other by their first name without honorifics, even after all these years. it’s the way geto and gojo are having one conversation with their mouths and another with their eyes when geto shows up to declare war. it’s the way geto can read gojo even when he’s blindfolded.
it’s the way we see gojo’s truest self around geto. it’s in how gojo knows how geto’s mind works after a decade. it’s in gojo’s demeanour completely changing around geto, dropping the lighthearted mask he maintains for everyone else.
there is no act more intimate than taking a life. there is no one else other than gojo that could’ve done it because there is no one else that shares the closeness begot by the act. gojo’s last words to geto are for him alone; not even the audience gets to know what transpired between them in geto’s final moments.
their connection is for them and them alone. and it is achingly beautiful.

satosugu idol/kpop AU inspired by BamBam (GOT7) and Bang Chan (Stray Kids) friendship, in which Satoru and Suguru meet as trainees after they have just join the agency. They’re the only ones from Japan in their group, they’re very young and they bond on the experience of moving to another country - of which they don’t even speak the language - and wanting to succeed. Then Satoru is chosen to be the maknae of a debuting group at 14, and Suguru is left behind. And then, everything changes. Because they can’t meet anymore. The agency won’t let them. And Suguru shouldn’t even have his own phone, really, but he does in secret, except that Satoru is not answering his texts anymore, and that - of course - he quickly becomes one of the favourite idol of the country.
Five years later, Suguru debuts but as the leader of his group.
(There’s a whole song about this here)(I’m leaving out all the mental health issues that comes with this au because I’m sure we can all pick them up!!)
