Lyrics:
Who needs friends who never show?
I'll tell you what you wanna know
I could have saved a broken heart
If I'd found out long ago
I'm just thinking about those lonely nights
When I waited on your call
'Till found out all my friends were right (Ooh)
I didn't know you at all
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
They say you've got a broken heart (I heard it)
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
Yes, I did boy, ooh-ooh
Now it seems they're telling me
You've changed your wicked ways
But should I give you a second chance?
Baby, I'm too afraid
So you realize what hurt you made
And the love you threw away
How can I forgive or soon forget?
It's never gonna be the same
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
They say you've got a broken heart (I heard it)
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
Yes, I did boy, ooh-ooh
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
They say you've got a broken heart (I heard it)
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
Yes, I did boy, ooh-ooh
Woo!
I'm just thinking about those lonely nights (I'm just thinking about when I waited)
When I waited on your call
'Till found out all my friends were right ('Till I found out, ooh)
I didn't know you at all
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
They say you've got a broken heart (I heard it)
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
Yes, I did boy, ooh-ooh
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
They say you've got a broken heart (I heard it)
I heard a rumour (Ooh-ooh, I heard a rumour)
Yes, I did boy, ooh-ooh

The full, ORIGINAL, extended club mix! (Very hard to find online [iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.]) This is the version played in the clubs back in the late 80’s. It always packed the dance floor!

John Lydon (kinda but not really) “The Lydons and The O’Donnells Family Album” 1986. MBC Records. Today, January 31st, is John Lydon’s 65th birthday (b. 1956). This weird “supergroup” record is a compilation of tracks originally recorded in 1979-80 featuring contributions (maybe?!) from members of Bananarama, Killing Joke and Generation X but may or may not actually have any ties to Lydon himself despite his name and likeness being prominently displayed on both the front and back covers. Side A has four tracks that were first issued by 4″ Be 2″ - a band composed of Lydon on production (which he later denied), his brother Jimmy, his other brother Martin (aka John Rambo Stevens), Jock O’Donnell, Paul Young (not the blue-eyed soul-pop crooner, rather a friend of John’s whose main claim to fame was chasing Sid Vicious with an axe after Vicious tried to kick in Lydon’s door) and Wally Waldron (also in Bloodsport). The first two tracks, “One of the Lads” and “Frustration” are both an odd mashup of punk/pop, reggae and banjo-picking Americana hill country music. “Jimmy Jones” is a swirly new wave number with snottyish punk’d vocals and “The Bitch” is a PiL-styled lengthy postpunk stoner droner. The first two track on Side B, “R.U. Dirty” and “Highland Tinker,” were recorded live at Futurama Leeds by Jock McDonald’s Indecent Exposure Show (Jimmy Lydon and Patrick/Jock O’Donnell) and are notable in that they purportedly have the first performances ever by Bananarama’s Keren Woodward and Sarah Dallin. The last two song on Side B are “No Feelings” - a cover of the Sex Pistols - and (listed as) “Rock ‘n’ Roll” by Gary Glitter -- but the song is actually “Freaks.” I’m not entirely certain where Billy Idol and Tony James from Generation X show up on the record, same for   Geordie Walker and Youth (Martin Glover) from Killing Joke, but I’d bet on the live Futurama Leeds tracks. Overall, the record is a classic Lydon “swindle” - but this time not from Johnny Rotten but his brother, looking to cash in on the Lydon name. “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?”

Lyrics:
Angel divine
With you by my side
I can do anything I want to
I'll sacrifice
For you I'd lay down my life
'Cause I was alone without you
We all need somebody
You know I need somebody
No one has to feel alone
We all need some love
You know I need your love
To break these chains around my soul
Only your love
Can free me
Only your love
Can ease me
Only your love
I need it
Only your love
Never let me go
Let me go (x 3)
Never let me go
Let me go (x 3)
Never let me go
Let me go (x 3)
Never let me go
Let me go (x 2)
Heat of the flame
That burns in your name
Got to got to got to believe it
Angel of love
Descend from above
Come on and shine your light on me
We all need somebody
You know I need somebody
No one has to feel alone
We all need some love
You know I need your love
To break these chains around my soul
We all need somebody
You know I need somebody
No one has to feel alone
We all need some love
You know I need your love
To break these chains around my soul

John Lydon sitting at the gates of Wormwood Scrubs Prison in London, June 1980, in the company of his brother Jimmy Lydon (second from the right) -who was at the time fronting the 4″Be2″, a band comprised of his partners in lager- his bandmates and two girls who would later on form Bananarama, during a photo shoot by Tom Sheehan (L-R: Sarah Dallin, Keren Woodward, Jock McDonald, John Lydon, Ken Topley, Graham Wheelan, Jimmy Lydon and Paul Young).
What was funny is that later on that same year, John Lydon, who was already working with PIL at the time, followed that band on their Dublin Tour and was actually thrown in jail after he evidently attacked a policeman’s fist with his face following a pub brawl. He spent a weekend in Mountjoy prison and was sentenced to three months in prison before being released on bail and eventually acquitted.
Feeling that the Irish authorities had gone the extra mile after this incident during his homecoming by harrassing him, stripping him down and hosing him down in the yard or by being repeatedly woken during the night by the sound of the guards’ batons on his cell door, it took him 18 years to return to Ireland, finally playing there with the reformed Sex Pistols.

Freak (Brallon)
Vampire! Dallon X Young! Brendon
Tumblr media
 words: 1140
Warnings: Swearing, crying Beebo, Beebo getting the living s**t beat out of him, (so that will probley give you the feels)
Brendon took the bitter drink away from his lips, looking up, just in time to see Spencer wipe some powder off his nose.
"Really?" He asks, rolling his eyes and Spencer gives him a cheeky smile before limping to a small group of girls. The music was so loud that it hurt his ears and made his head throb. "- I think I'm gonna go home."
Despite how bad Pete wanted to smack him, tell him that she was just a girl and he would find another, Pete knew... Brendon had thought Sarah was the one. They all did.
Brendon waves to his friend and quickly made a B-line for the exit, being stopped many times by sweaty body's trying to start conversation. But he was not in the mood to talk at the moment.
When the cool night air hit his face he felt it instantly. He hunched over and threw up everything he had even that day, and probley yesterday. But all the same, he made his way down the street towards his home.
After a few minutes, Brendon realized something. He stopped and looked across the road to see someone standing. They were sort of hidden and they had all black clothes on.
"D-do you need help man?" Brendon called out against his better judgment.   The figure slowly turned and Brendon felt even more panic wash over him.
Slowly but surly, the figure began to walk towards him. So Brendon took off down the street in a sprint, to terrified to look behind him.
He was knocked of his feet as he felt something slightly shove him to the side. As he started to loose his balance and let out a small whimper as a stabbing pain took over the side of his ribs.
When he pulled his hand from his ribs, he realized there was a fresh coat of blood dripping down it.
Before he could register this he was swiftly being kicked to the other side, resulting in a loud cracking soud to come from other side causing him to scream.
When he looked up he was met with deep blue eyes staring back at his own brown ones.
"Sorry darling-" he tilted Brendons chin up just a little to get a good look at his whole face. "- This may not kill you, but it ain't gonna tickle either."
Before Brendon could say anything, he felt one hand wrap around his throat and another cover his nose and mouth. He was out like a light.
~°○•●□■▪▪■□●•○°~
Dallon smiled as Brendon's eyes fluttered open. He had spent all the night and most of the day admiring the boys looks.
"Got a name cutey?" Dallon asked looking back down at his book. He herd Brendon let out multiple grunts and he tried to free himself of the hospital bed he was cuffed to.
"Stop shaking sweety, it won't do much for you." He said, setting his book down and walking up to the the bed.
"Wha-at are you go-nna do to mu-e?" He whimpered out, eyes looking terrified, searching Dallon for his next move.
Brendon felt his chest tighten when Dallon pulled a needle out of his pocket.
"This won't hurt I promise, it's just gonna speed up your blood flow." He pushed the needle into Brendon's arm let out a hissing sound, making Dallin feel bad.
"What the hell are you? Some kind of cannibal or something?" He asked as Dallon turned to throw away the needle.
"Or somethimg." Dallon said turning back to Brendon now. The sweat lining the younger boys head made him weak in the knees. "Now I asked you a question. What's your name?"
"Brendon." He stated and Dallon smiled.
"Dallon." He whispered. Brendon rolled his eyes. "So you probley want to know why your here?"  Brendon nodded like it was obvious.
"No, I just wanted you to stand there and look spooky." He said sarcasily. "No fucking dip, dipshit." He yelled.
And with that, Dallon smacked him. His eyes got wide, and his mouth hung agap.
"Wanna talk back like that again?" He growled, voice low. If this wasn't Brendon' s  kidnapper, he might have thought that was hot. "Now, you said you wanna know what I am?"
"Yes-" Brendon said hesitantly. Dallon smiled and winked.
"Guess you'll just have to find out." Dallon strutted towards the bed.  Brendon watched questioningly. Then he suddenly started to jerk around as Dallon leaned over to him. He was getting dangerously close.
Using inhuman like force, Dallon pushed Brendon back down onto the bed.  Dallon pushed his head into the crook of  Brendon' s neck.
Suddenly Brendon left out a scream as a sharp pain when through his whole neck.  He then slowly started to get colder, and his vision more strained.
"What are you doing to me?" Brendon cried out, a tear rolling down his cheek.
"-For you Darling." Dallon said, correcting him. He wiped his mouth, but when he saw Brendon crying, shaking, and sweating, the smile fell from his face.
Dallon went to reach for Brendon, but he tried to jerk away.
"You fucking freak!" Brendon yelled, still crying.
"Why Don't you get some sleep." Dallon said walking up the stairs and out of the dark basement room.
~°○•●□■▪▪■□●•○°~
It was around ten at night when Dallon walked back down the stairs. He saw Brendon curled up, trying to get warm.
He walked over and laid the blanket he was holding out on Brendon. Brendon opened his eyes, pulling to thick blanket up more.
"Thank you." He said softly. Dallon just hummed in response before going back up the stairs.
~°○•●□■▪▪■●•○°~
Brendon woke with a start, the taste of copper filling his mouth. His stomach churned and he was scared by his own want to rip his skin open.
"D-da-Dallon!" He yelled. He herd steps coming from above and then quick ones coming down the steps.
"Yes?" Dallon said smiley, swinging around and looking at him. His face suddenly droped. "What's wrong?" He asked softly.
" I-i don't know." Brendon had a rushed, high pitched voice as he spoke.
"Shit." Dallon quickly ran up the stairs. Brendon threw his head back, breathing heavily.
When Dallon came back down the stairs, he was carrying a glass full of thick red liquid. Brendon could only think of one thing it could be.
"Oh hell no! I am not becoming one of those things!" Dallon looked up from the glass, his face looking like he watched a puppy get hit by a truck. "I didn't mean it like that." Brendon tried to fix the situation.
"Please, you could die if you dont." Dallon said holding the glass out.
"Fine, but you have to promise that in the end, I'll be ok." Brendon said eyes full of fear and need.
"I swear."
