Gigolas - oooh i love them! Didnt discover them till like 2020?? But i fell in love, and honeatly its mostly the fault of this amazing fic called Sansûkh. Damn i should reread lotr sometime when the mere thought doesnt make me wanna cry like a baby and miss my dad more than i need to breathe.
Sculder - i was hooked from the first episode. Absolute yes. Im teying not to spoiler the show for myself so im refraining feom reading fics but like. Absolute yes. Malewife girlboss. I... may have a type.
Darklina - ... i mean. :) yes. Honestly it makes more sense to me than Malina, which is just boring as fuck. Nobody cares. Go be the dark lady, Alina, maybe then i'd appreciate you more.

I’m sorry to say that, while I am absolutely still writing this verse, I don’t tend to blog about it often. I don’t tend to blog about much these days (though I’m sure that will change as well).
But as for crumbs, I don’t have anything written that isn’t an outline, so....perhaps a tiny little behind-the-scenes teaser not-spoiler for what’s to come.
This fic will span the next 60 years, in ‘verse. There are 4 books planned. I know who lives and who does not - not everybody who died the first time will die this time...but not everybody who lived will make it out this time, either....

So, I just finished reading chapter 46 of Sansûkh, and i.... WOW Dets, seriously. wow. (spoilers below peeps)
This chapter was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. And I called something AGAIN this time. The birth. IT was SO amazing I knew it was gonna happen, but reading it. I was SO happy.
And Thranduil made a joke. he made a joke (which made me think about Turiel and I was sad for a split second until I read further) and honestly,,, I love him he’s so extra.
The fact that Legolas and Gimris are friends and come together in their teasing of Gimli,,, beautiful, my skin is clear, my crops are plentiful and everything is Good.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy about somebody dying,,, I was internally crying when I read the part where Dís enters the Halls. (Daín kicked Thorin, lmao) and just [clutches fist] emotions.
“I can’t see you, I need to see you, it’s been so long,” she moaned. Her fingers, new and trembling, rose to brush over Víli’s many-braided beard, his moustache, the snub of his nose.
Kill me now? And when Kíli and Fíli met her again and Frís and Thraín and Thror and Hrera I?????? asdfghjk DETS you wonderful human being!
And the Shire, oh the Shire. I am so mad about the Oak. I wanna kill the people who decided to remove it.

Because I need to shout at @determamfidd for a moment.
Sansûkh spoilers under the cut.
DAMN iT DETS QAQ
You know, I said to myself as I started reading this fic that there was NO WAY it would actually get this far. Reason I said it was simply that I’ve seen way too many WIPs just drop off the face of the earth - I’m still following at least 10 different ones of these, ONE of which has updated during 2015 (after a one year break). You’ve made it this far with the story, to Mordor and Mount Doom, and you’re breaking my heart with every goddamn step.
I just... AUGH. First I go “you know what, this is fine”. Then Thráin happens, staring at Dol Guldur, and I make a sniffling noise. Then CELEBORN happens and holy fucking hell did you manage to sum up just why I fucking love him as a character despite him not being developed much in Tolkien’s works. Damn you, Dets. qwq All that pain and heartache in his scenes, you hit the bullseye. All the reasons to why he KNOWS that he might lose Galadriel, and he is so terrified of that moment. He is so afraid of losing the one thing that has been stable for such a long time in his life, and you nearly goddamn made it happen.
And you know, I could’ve fucking handled the conversation between Legolas and Gimli, and I could’ve handled Gimli refusing to acknowledge the IF in Legolas’ words. I could’ve handled it. IF NOT FOR FRIGGING ADORABLE LITTLE PIPPIN. Pippin always was a favourite character of mine, but god knows you are taking him to a level of wonderful that I love. You keep his youthfulness, you keep him as the more irresponsible teenager, but you give him a ferocity that truly earns him Thorin’s nickname “Little Bullroarer”. You give him an insight that I only remember seeing in Dreamflower’s stories. And I LOVE it, because fuck knows I love her version of events and how she portrays Pippin’s family.
There’s everything happening at once, and then you make me cry when you let Dori get fucking stabbed in the back. As much as I want him reunited with his brothers and his mother (and you know damn well that Nori, for all that he hates fussing, would hug Dori and give him tea and let him fuss to the ends of the earth as long as it means they don’t have to be apart again), that moment was so goddamn painful, and not only for Ori’s wailing.
AND THORIN STANDING UP TO FUCKING SAURON?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO MY HEART?! Thorin is TRULY facing his demons in this chapter, and god knows that it is both joy- and painful to see Bilbo helping him, Bilbo finally actually understanding just WHAT IS AT STAKE. There is no anger in Bilbo over the ring, no anger over Gollum - there is just the instinct to help Thorin and protect Frodo.
Fuck you, Dets. I love you. Damn you. QwQ

I was reading this chapter in bits and pieces because of school, but holy shit. This was amazing. Absolutely astounding and I’m in awe.
I was a mess all day long I can’t believe this it’s so beautiful. I haven’t listened to the song yet because I’m still at school but I’m so excited to hear it!!

There’s sO much more.. I laughed at Gimli and Legolas bantering and then kissing, internally cried tears of joy when he hugged Mizim, rejoiced and screamed at everyone seeing Gimli again.
Dwalin and Gimly just.. Aaaagh I loved this chapter so much and I can’t wait to listen to the song!! Because harp and because I know the music will be awesome and that you spent sO long making the song, with 300(?) recordings and I’m sure it’ll make my brain mush.
