Wrestlemania Main Event Reviews - Wrestlemania XXIX
John Cena def. The Rock (c) for the WWE Championship in 23:59
Once in a lifetime again! John Cena is out first and he’s ready. The Rock is out with the belt and he looks intense. The stakes are up and the fight is set!
They stand off and feel each other out in the early-goings. Big reversed hip toss from Rock sends Cena to regroup on the outside. Cena lays in some good shots on Rock as they exchange brief periods on top. Both hit big Irish whips to the corners, and a Rock kick sends Cena to the apron and Rock is in control, but Cena hits a big clothesline in the ring to get back on top. He locks in a chin lock that Rock powers out of, but Cena responds quickly and slams Rock down for a 2-count and sinches it back in. Rock locks in a sleeper hold off the ropes but Cena is soon on top laying in kicks. Cena misses an elbow drop and Rock hits a quick Samoan Drop. The crowd is really quiet. Big suplex from Cena but Rock kicks out. Rock fights out from the corner, Cena hits one shoulder tackle but Rock dodges the next, he goes for the spinebuster but Cena goes for the STF, kicked away and Cena hits the shoulder tackles, but Rock reverses the body slam and locks in the Sharpshooter! Cena is able to reverse out and hit that slam! He goes for the Five-Knuckle Shuffle but Rock dodges and hits the DDT. He sizes up for the Rock Bottom, but Cena reverses and locks in a LeBell Lock. Rock rolls over for a pin and Cena kicks out but launches him into the turnbuckle, then hits the Five-Knuckle Shuffle. He goes up for the AA, but Rock reverses, spinebuster, ready for the People’s Elbow, but Cena locks in the STF! Rock rolls him off his back and pulls Cena’s arms apart to escape, and Cena runs into a Rock Bottom! Kickout, Attitude Adjustment but Rock kicks out! The crowd is pretty tired for this one. He goes for the diving leg drop but Rock dodges, spinebuster, People’s Elbow, but Cena kicks out!
Cena rolls out the ring so Rock goes out to put him back in. Cena and Rock go back and forth with strikes, crossbody from Rock, Cena catches and lifts him for the AA but Rock reverses and hits the Rock Bottom! 1-2-Kickout! Rock sets up for the Five-Knuckle Shuffle, Cena pops up and hits the Attitude Adjustment, but Rock kicks out! That’s great! Back and forth strikes again and they’re hard strikes, Cena rolls up the Rock, kick out, back and forth, Cena hits the Rock Bottom out of nowhere! Rock kicks out! Cena thinks about the People’s Elbow, starts it but holds on to the rope as Rock springs up, taunts him, up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Rock reverses and hits the Rock Bottom for 2! Back up, Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment, Rock reverses, Rock Bottom attempt, Cena reverses, another AA attempt, Rock is out and hits a DDT! Lines up for the Rock Bottom, but Cena counters into an AA to win! The crowd goes wild! Rock and Cean exchange words in the ring and shake hands, embrace, and Rock is left in the ring. They meet on the ring and Rock lifts Cena’s hand as the fireworks go off.
Pros: Back and forth action, reversal action, callbacks, quick energy Cons: Predictable, quiet crowd
This match was similar to their other match in a lot of ways, but I think in-ring it was a little better than the previous. Lots of exciting moments and cool reversals. The story was still good but not as full-on as before, plus it was pretty clear that Cena was gonna win. Adding CM Punk to the match would have made a lot of sense for his work in the last two years and for making things a little more uncertain, but he had a good match with Undertaker, and I can’t put too much work into what-ifs. This was a fun match and I enjoyed it a lot.

Samoa Joe vs Kota Ibushi- GOLD LEAGUE- Night 7
Joe shoved Ibushi back and patted his own chest, telling Ibushi to bring it, and Ibushi gave Joe exactly what he wanted, rearing back and blasting Joe with a chop to the chest! Joe stumbled back, but didn’t back down, meeting Ibushi with a chop of his own, as the two men began to trade chops in the middle of the ring!
Very quickly, both men’s chests seemed to be turning red, and Kota Ibushi quickly switched up his approach, instead grabbing Joe and tossing him overhead with a Release T-Bone suplex! Joe crashed down to the mat and quickly got back up, however, grabbing Ibushi and throwing him overhead with a T-Bone of his own! Ibushi quickly got back to his feet, and grabbed Joe again, tossing him overhead with another T-Bone! Joe quickly gets up, but instead of continuing to the cycle of T-Bone suplexes, he catches Ibushi with an eye poke, stunning Kota before sending Ibushi into the ropes, and on the rebound popping Kota up into the air and blasting him with a stiff headbutt, knocking Kota Ibushi down, with Ibushi rolling to the outside to regain himself. Joe followed him out there, however, and quickly went under the ring, grabbing a chair to aid him in his mission of causing even more punishment. Joe swung the chair, connecting with Kota’s back, sending the sound of steel smacking on flesh echoing throughout NOW Arena.
Ibushi ate another chair shot from Joe, causing him a great deal of pain, before Ibushi caught Joe with a shot to the gut with his knee, before ripping the chair from Joe’s hands, and nailing Joe in the ribs with it. Then Ibushi opened the chair up and placed it around Joe’s neck, pulling back on it and essentially using the chair to choke Samoe Joe on the outside! This one was breaking down quick!
Joe managed to escape the chair, and collapse to his knees, holding his throat, but Ibushi followed up his assault by catching Joe with a kick to the back, the thud of Ibushi’s boot on Joe’s body able to be heard quite audibly. Joe fell down to his hands, clutching at his back. Ibushi picks Joe back up, catching him with another forearm, before throwing him into the steel guardrail, full force! Joe collapsed to his knees again, clutching at his back, motherfuckin’ and sumbitchin’ in a great deal of pain. Kota hopped up onto the ring apron as he waited for Joe to get up, leading the crowd in his signature clapping cadence, before charging Joe and leaping off the apron, crashing down onto the Samoan Submission Machine with a Rolling Senton!
Ibushi pops back to his feet, clearly fired up, as he grabs Joe again and tosses him back into the ring. Joe crawled towards the middle of the ring, but he’s stopped by Ibushi, who traps him in a waist lock, trying to lift him up into a German Suplex, but Joe manages to fight out of it, before sliding out behind Ibushi, connecting with Ibushi in the head with an elbow, as Ibushi turns around, staggering the Golden Star! Joe quickly hits the ropes and charges Ibushi again, jumping up onto him, and driving Ibushi’s head into the mat with a leaping DDT! Joe makes the cover!
1….2…Kickout!
Ibushi gets the shoulder up, retaining his title for the moment. Joe gets himself back to his feet and grabs at his kneepad, perching himself in the corner and waiting for Ibushi to start to stir. Once Ibushi gets himself up on his hands and knees, Joe charges at Ibushi, looking for the knee, but Ibushi dodges it, slips behind Joe, locks his hands around his waist, and sends Joe overhead with a huge German Suplex! Joe crashes right down on his neck and shoulders, as Ibushi quickly scrambles to Joe, trying to lock in a sleeper before Joe can even get situated. Joe manages to block it but Ibushi gets a headcrank on instead, directly putting pressure right on Joe’s skull and jaw. A hold like this can dislocate your jaw, and is extremely painful when applied by someone as powerful and as adept at submissions as Ibushi, and Joe was to quickly find a way out of it, or he could find himself out of this match in a hurry. Joe begins raining down fists on Ibushi’s kidneys, forcing Ibushi to break the hold, and allowing Joe to roll out of the ring, trying to stretch out his jaw as he does. Ibushi is quick to shake off the shots and follow Joe outside the ring, but as Ibushi goes after Joe, suddenly, Joe turns around and blasts Ibushi with a headbutt, staggering the former IWGP Heavyweight Champ!
As Ibushi staggered backwards, Joe charged at him, but Ibushi, thinking quickly, caught Joe on the approach, before sending Joe overhead with an exploder suplex, right into the steel guardrail! Joe crashes right into the steel!
Ibushi rolls Joe back into the ring, looking for the cover!
1….2… Kickout!
This time it’s Samoa Joe who stays alive, and Kota Ibushi huffs in a bit of frustration. Kota quickly got back to his feet and stays on the offensive, waiting for Joe to start to get up. As Joe pulled himself up to his knees, Kota blasted him in the chest with a stiff kick, the thud of which echoing throughout La Boom! Joe grimaced in pain, before spitting in Kota’s direction, telling him to “Bring it on, Motherfucker!” and in response, Kota caught him with another kick, which caused him to fall down to his hands, and press his forehead into the mat from the pain. Kota was known as a vicious striker, with perhaps some of the hardest kicks and chops in all of professional wrestling. Kota slipped behind Joe as he was still recovering, and lifted him up, before tossing him overhead with a deadlift German Suplex! Kota made another cover on Joe, bridging over!
1….2…. Kickout!
Joe manages to stay alive again, and Kota curses under his breath, wondering just what it was gonna take to put Joe away this evening. Joe was one of the toughest competitors in MPW, his championship resume along with the wars he’d been in spoke for themselves, and Ibushi would have to get creative if he wanted to put away The Samoan Submission Machine. Ibushi gets back to his feet, and goes to grab at Joe again, when Joe starts to battle back with a series of shots to the gut of Ibushi. Joe manages to fight up back to his feet, and catch Ibushi with a few stiff shots to the head, staggering Kota as Joe sends him off the ropes, and on the rebound catches Kota in the gut with a Kitchen Sink, sending Kota head over heels and down to the mat, clutching his gut! Joe forgoes the theatrics this time, instead just charging right at Ibushi, blasting Kota in the head with a stiff knee shot right to the head! Joe floats over into the cover on Ibushi!
1….2… Kickout!
Kota just BARELY got the shoulder up there, still fighting. Joe was quick to get back to his feet, knowing he had to work quickly if he wanted to keep Ibushi down. Joe grabbed two of the chairs and set them up, before placing a door between them, creating a makeshift table. Joe then grabs Ibushi, dragging him into the corner, and up onto the top rope, before beginning to climb up himself. Ibushi suddenly comes to life, and tries to fight back, and the two begin to exchange strikes on the ropes, with the outcome of this strike exchange perhaps the most pivotal in deciding who would end up winning this match. Eventually, Joe begins trading in his fists for his own skull, bashing Ibushi with a series of headbutts, staggering Kota just enough to finish climbing up the ropes, lifting Kota, and putting Kota through the door with a massive top rope DDT! Joe shoves the pieces of door away, making the cover on Ibushi! This one might be over!
1…..2…. Kickout!
Ibushi kicks out, and as he does, he grabs Joe, locking him right into a rear naked choke! Ibushi caught Joe! Ibushi locked in the choke tight, trying to put Joe’s lights out!
Ibushi kept the hold on for a few moments, before releasing it and quickly transitioning to a standing position, lifting Joe up by his arms and catching him with several brutal, repeated knees to the head, wearing Joe down, before Ibushi lifts him all the way up and onto his shoulder, in Kotabstone position. Samoa Joe manages to slip out the back, and lock in a rear naked clutch in on Ibushi! Ibushi is struggling, but fading quickly, but Joe’s got him locked in tight!
Joe keeps trying to choke out Kota, when Ibushi manages to slide out the bottom, rolling Joe up into an O’Connor Roll!
1….2…. Kickout
Joe kicks out, but Ibushi quickly grabs both arms, NAILING Joe with the Kamigoye! Goodnight, Joe! Cover!
1….2….3!
Ibushi is victorious!

ROH Final Battle 12/10/22
Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Athena for the ROH Women's World Championship -- This was a really awkward match. I couldn't get into it. Athena has some good stuff here. Nice powerbomb. Athena gets the pinfall with a big shotgun dropkick that sends Mercedes' head into the turnbuckle, followed by an O-Face. Glad to see Athena win a championship.
Daniel Garcia (c) vs. Wheeler Yuta for the ROH Pure Championship -- Garcia lands a closed-fist punch to Yuta's face right off the bat and gets a warning!!! Yuta returns the favor and gets a warning as well!! Damn!!!!!!!! Garcia throws Yuta into the ring steps on the outside! Nasty chops from Garcia. Garcia removes the turnbuckle pad, drives Yuta's head into the exposed buckle, and steps on his head! Garcia locks in a sleeper on Yuta in the ropes, forcing Yuta to use a rope break! Garcia then locks in a surfboard on Yuta with his arms around the ropes, forcing another rope break!!!! Brilliant! Garcia locks in a dragon sleeper, and Yuta goes to the ropes, using his last rope break! Garcia with a deep Sharpshooter! Yuta counters into a cross face!!!! Garcia goes for the Sharpshooter again, but Yuta smoothly reverses into a roll up! Garcia kicks out! They trade headbutts and palm strikes! German suplex and Samoan Drop by Yuta, but Garica kicks out! Cross body from the top by Yuta! Garcia gets the knees up and lands a piledriver, but Yuta kicks out! Garcia locks the Sharpshooter back in, and Yuta has no rope breaks!!! Yuta crawls toward the apron!! As Garcia leans back to lock the hold in deeper, Yuta gets his arm around Garcia's neck in a choke and takes his fingers to the nose and eyes of Garcia!!! Damn! They trade strikes on the apron! Garcia goes for a piledriver on the apron, but Yuta reverses into a big back body drop!! Back in the ring, Garcia flips Yuta off, and Yuta responds with a huge kick and a Tombstone with Garcia's legs trapped! Garcia kicks out! Yuta traps Garcia's arm and lays in the hammer and anvil elbows until Garcia goes out!!!!! Damn!!! That rocked!!! Great, intense back and forth action. Loved the story of Garcia taking every potential advantage away from Yuta early in the match, baiting him into using his one closed fist warning and forcing him to use all his rope breaks. Loved the finish with Yuta knocking Garcia's lights out! Both guys looked great here. Two-time Pure Champ Wheeler Yuta!!!
FTR (c) vs. The Briscoes for the ROH Tag Team Championship -- Dax hurls a chair at Jay's head! Dax grinds the chain across Jay's face in the ring. Doomsday Device by FTR! Mark kicks out! Cash lock in a Gory Special on Mark, choking him with the chain at the same time!!! Dax with a diving headbutt to Jay from the top with the chain wrapped around his own head! Huge side suplex from Cash to mark on apron!!!!! Oh my god!!! Cash absolutely slings Mark off the top rope with the chain! Mark lands on his back on a pile of chairs on the floor!!!! Holy shit!!!!! Huge Jay Driller to Dax in the ring!!!!! Dax kicks out! Jay nails Dax with a chair three times! Dax lands a piledriver on Jay in a chair!!! Everyone is bleeding!!!! Including the ref!!!!!!!! Cash throws all the chairs from the outside into the ring. Dax puts Jay on the top rope! Huge chops from Dax!! Jay superplexes Dax on the chairs!!!! Dax kicks out! Jay wraps the chain around Dax's face and neck and wrenches back!! Dax goes out!!! New champs!!! What a match!!!!! This was crazy!!!! Spots galore, blood everywhere, and great wrestling to tie it all together. Just incredible. These guys have amazing chemistry.
The Gunns attack FTR after the match. Who could care about this after that amazing match?
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Juice Robinson for the ROH World Television Championship -- Solid match here. Great to see Juice. Joe looks awesome here, as usual. He retains with Muscle Buster.

Hello everyone Ricky Goldman here.
Tumblr media
Its TNT: After Shock.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st match is The Ava vs Gia Adams. My 1st look at The Ava here who very much heeled it up here getting on the mic and saying people in Liverpool are thieves and she feels unsafe here. She was very much in control really taking it to Gia pulling out some good moves which were very acrobatic. Gia did get back into this. This was a fairly quick match here. Gia hits a samoan drop and pins The Ava for the win.
Tumblr media
Next up its Tate Mayfairs vs Soner Durson. Tate ofcourse of NXT UK fame. Soner got a good pop from the crowd on his entrance. Tate being cocky here and taking cheap shots he tries to get the easy win with a rake to the eyes but to no avail. Soner now back in it and takes it to Tate the action goes out the ring and Soner sends Tate crashing into the fruit machine. Now back in the ring and Tate has took over he sends Soner right into the turn buckle twice but Soner survives this and tries to get back in it but Tate stops him. Soner has a bloody mouth caused by Tate. Tate really is a good heel and definitely the future of British wrestling. This was a good match. We saw high flying action from Soner and even a bump on the ring apron from Tate. Back in the ring now but Tate gets the upper hand he hits a big boot followed by a swinging neck breaker to defeat Soner. After the match Soner said hes done with TNT but then Tu Byt absolutely destroys him.
Tumblr media
Moving on with the next match Issac North vs MVK in a knock out or tap out match. This was very hard hitting from the get go. 2 big bulls going at it. The action got brutal from the very start it spilled out the ring and MVK throws a drink in Isaacs face and then sends him crashing into the bar. the action gets taken over to the merch area where MVK picks up a foam head and hits Issac with it. Issac gets back into this a uses a steel chair on MVK but the big man wont give up. Now back in the ring and theres a brawl between both men,we see a super plex from the top rope but still neither man will give up. Issac uses the chair again and hits MVK on the back of the neck with 2 elbows from the top but MVK will not give up. MVK gets Issac in the ropes and applies a sleeper hold making him pass out for the W.
Out comes Brian Aidenson he calls out Hustle Malone who trys to blind side Brian.
Tumblr media
Now for the next match it is Shreddy vs RP Davies. Shreddy very much dominated this match with power moves and just throwing RP around but RP kept kicking out he though. There was little offense from RP,Shreddy squashed him and had fun doing it hitting a Jack hammer and then a dominanator to put RP away and is new Number one Contender for the ignition title.After the match Chase Alexander attacks RP and Big Guns Joe makes the save.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's now Big Guns Joe vs Chase Alexander.it was meant to be Big Guns Joe vs Simon Miller but I'm guessing Simon is still injured. This was an Ok match but way to many botches from Chase. Back and forth action between both guys with Chase controlling most of the action in this one. I'm not sure if Chase was injured or just couldn't be bothered but lots of botching from him. Hes much better heel I think. Joe back in it with a hip toss to Chase from the top rope he then takes it to Chase with power moves and sentons. Chase fights back delivering some big moves of his own,he takes off his belt but RP Davies is here to stop him. Joe hits a power bomb and put a Boston crab on Chase making him tap.
Tumblr media
Now we have the MAIN EVENT! Kameron Solas vs Sam Bailey. Kameron grabs the mic and demands Sam comes out but instead JJ Webb and Danny Proper come out they beat up Kameron with a steel chair,Tom Thelwell is here to make the save it's now tag team action. Tom with a suicide dive onto JJ and Danny outside the ring but JJ then dumps Tom onto the ring apron and takes over. Both JJ and Danny with frequent tags in and out. So the story of this one is Sam stole the title but isnt here tonight so Danny has it instead. Tom finally tags in Kameron. The action quickens and Kameron looks to get this done here. Tom tags back in,hits Danny with his finisher and pins him to win the match. After the match Tom kept looking at his briefcase hinting a cash in.
It was a good show even though a little rushed and I give it 6 stars out of 10.

DESIRE
Part 17
Tumblr media
Paul stirred awake the next morning. It was around 8am. Joe was still sound asleep, lying on his back, hair splayed around the pillow from his tossing and turning during the night. He never was the most sound sleeper. He looked at him tenderly, with tired eyes. Today was going to be busy. He had to check out and be in Tampa at the Performance Centre for 1pm. He ran the palms of his hands over his eyes, willing himself to wake up as he sat up.
“What time is it?” Came a voice from behind. “Just gone 8,” Paul said looking down at Joe. The young man pulled the sheets up to his neck, snuggling into them. “I don’t want to leave,” he moaned. “Me either baby,” Paul leaned down and stroked his cheek. “I have a long day ahead of me.” He got out of the bed naked, “Gotta be at the Performance Centre for 1. Got a few meetings for NXT.” Joe watched as he went into the bathroom.
Paul emerged 20 minutes later, wrapping a towel around his waist. Joe was already sorting his belongings into his case. He had already showered last night and would go to the arena to pick up his car as his place was only a few hours drive. Sometimes flying got so much that when he was in Florida, he always liked to drive. Joe had agreed that he would check out a while before Paul as not to raise any sort of suspicion.
“I had a really nice time this weekend.” He told Paul as he propped up his case next to him. “I’m glad you think of some of my twisted ideas as nice.” The older man chuckled. “I’m glad though. You’ve been so good too.” He smiled kissing him. “I’ll book us a nice room in Atlanta for next Friday,” he told him “OK,” Joe leaned in and hugged him, standing silently for a moment. “Keep in touch.”
Joe arrived home a few hours later. He was glad to be back in his own space. The drive gave him plenty of time to think over the events of the weekend. He couldn’t deny that he was starting to fall hard for Paul, regardless of how uncomfortable he had made him feel in a few of their scenarios. He wouldn’t stop trying with Joe, wanting to take him on this journey of his. It was a journey for Joe too, seeing just what he would do to please his man.
He spent that evening packing his wrestling gear and preparing for Raw in Jacksonville. He was happy to be teaming with Colby for the first time in a while. They always worked so well together. As always when on the road, they decided to room together.
Joe had booked a room at the DoubleTree Hilton. “Man, I feel so busted up tonight after that Powerbomb.” Colby complained as they entered the room. “I told you to get it checked out. You’re so stubborn at times you know that?” Joe commented closing the door behind them, setting his case on the side. Colby kicked off his boots and lowered his weary body to the sofa. “There’s got a good sized tub. Why don’t you have a soak. Might help?” Joe suggested. He was like a mother to his friend sometimes. Before Colby knew it, Joe was already running the bath.
“Thanks man,” he acknowledged as Joe emerged from the bathroom. “Go and sort yourself out before you get too comfy!”
“You know, you’re so bossy sometimes, jeez,” Colby whined getting off the sofa. “You need someone to look after you,” Joe replied with a smile as he switched on the TV, passing a glance as Colby stripped off to his black boxers and went into the bathroom. At that moment, his phone rang. Paul’s face flashed on the screen. He hadn’t heard from him since Saturday.
“Heyyy how’s it going?” Joe smiled getting off the sofa. Paul was in Connecticut on business. “Good, busy but good. You looked great tonight.”
“I’m so achy after going through those 2 tables-” Joe started only to be interrupted by Colby peering out of the bathroom. “Hey man, can I use your Epsom Salts?” Joe nodded throwing his case open and fishing the package out.
“You’ve got company?” Paul stated hearing the voice in the background. “Yeah, It’s just Colby,” he handed the package over. He instantly regretted saying that. He began to pace around the room, further away from the bathroom so Colby couldn’t hear.
“Are you staying with him tonight?” Paul enquired, his tone shifting. Joe hesitated before answering “Yeah.” Paul stayed silent “You still there?”
“Yeah,” Paul eventually replied “Are you OK?” He had a feeling Paul was pissed off. “Perfect. Actually, I’ve got a little task for you.” Joe felt knots in his stomach at that statement. “OK…”
“I want you to fuck Colby tonight.” Joe couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“What do you mean?” he stopped in his tracks, a confused look on his face “Well, I have a feeling you’ll do it anyway so I want you to do it now because I’m telling you to.” His tone was stern now. It only made Joe feel worse. “Paul, I wasn’t planning on-” Paul cut him off.
“Don’t give me that.” Joe was annoyed now “We’re just friends, there’s nothing going on,” Paul was not budging “Regardless, I want you to do as I say.”
“And, what if I don’t?” Joe fired back, trying to keep his cool. “Are you really thinking of going against my orders?”
Joe hesitated “No,” Paul interjected “No Sir,” he said lowly, hoping Colby couldn’t hear. “Good, I want you to fuck him hard, like I would fuck you. Do you understand?”
“Why are you doing this? You’re putting me in an awkward position.”
“You both have a past so it shouldn’t be hard.” Paul was clearly not getting over it. “Don’t disappoint me,” Paul said before hanging up. Joe started pacing the room again. He was annoyed as hell with Paul. He was clearly pissed off that he was rooming with Colby and it was obvious that he didn’t trust him. It caused him to remember the little punishment blowjob a couple of days earlier. Would he do the same this coming weekend?
“You OK man?” Colby called from the bathroom pulling Joe from his mood.
“Uh, yeah fine.” He said jamming his hands into the pockets of his jogging bottoms. He padded towards the bathroom and peered his head around the door. Colby was laying back in the bath, covered in suds. He looked relaxed. “You don’t sound it man. Spit it out.”
“Aah just stress, don’t worry about it. I’ll be fine.” He lied. “How’s your back?”
“I’m getting too old for this shit.” He said sitting forward in the bath causing the water to splash onto Joe pants. He moved back patting the wetness. “Sorry,” Colby looked at the mark, catching the bulge. He licked his lips.
“You checking me out?” Joe smirked. “Well It’s not like you’re hiding anything.” Colby replied. He knew he shouldn’t flirt since Joe was already involved but it never stopped him before. There was always a spark between them. “Well It’s not like you’re making things easy, splashing about in that tub.”
“I’m just a tease.” Colby grinned standing up covered in suds, water dripping from him as he stepped out of the tub. Joe handed him a white towel from the rail. “You really are.” There was a moment of silence until their eyes met. Colby drew closer to Joe and pressed his lips to his. Joe participated in the kiss until Colby pulled away. Joe was startled.
“Sorry man, sorry.” Colby apologised edging into the living area, followed by Joe. “Don’t be sorry. I wanted that.” He let out. “I can’t . You’re with Paul now, as much as I hate him.” Joe swallowed watching as his friend paced around the room, wrapping the towel around his waist. “Stop pacing.” Joe hated it when he got worked up, he always got agitated over things pretty quickly. Joe had enough, he stepped in and grabbed him by the fore arm. “Stop,” he said sternly. Colby stopped and stared at him. “It’s not going to stop me from wanting you-” Joe confessed loosening his grip. He was now stood right in front of him, both hands on his biceps.
“But, Paul-” Joe put his finger to his lips, silencing him. He followed by kissing him passionately. Soon, Joe was undressed. They edged towards the bed, entangled in a slow kiss now, hands roaming each others bodies as they climbed on top of it.
“Are you sure?” he checked in between kisses. “Stop talking,” Joe told him. “Just enjoy it. Turn around. On your knees.”
Colby did as told, getting on all fours, his ass waiting in front of Joe. Colby saw a grin creep across his face as he looked over his shoulder. There was something different about Joe tonight. He shut his eyes as the Samoan lubricated his opening with his saliva, entering his index and middle finger. Colby grinded back into him, groaning as he did. When Joe was satisfied, he positioned himself upright, the tip of his already hard cock settling against Colby’s opening.
The younger man exhaled as Joe gently forced himself in. He didn’t seem as tight as Joe and had been known to sleep around more. Joe steadied himself, holding onto Colby’s pelvis. Colby loved when Joe fucked him, his cock always felt so good inside, so thick and full. He was fucking him harder and faster tonight that even Colby was struggling to keep track. “Jesus Christ!” He let out “I’m cumming,” Joe warned breathlessly from above. His seed exploded into Colby’s waiting hole. He thrust hard a few more times before pulling out. He grabbed Colby’s forearm, flipping him over. He was a wreck, “Jesus Christ man,” He breathed taking in Joe mass as he hovered above him, strands of hair framing his handsome face. He half smiled, lowering down on the bed next to him. “Did I wear you out?” Joe asked, feeling smug.
“What’s gotten into you this evening?” Colby looked at him “You’re never like that.” Joe turned onto his side to face him, flicking his hair away from his face.
“Guess I’m feeling a bit backed up. Did I hurt you?” He asked, a little concerned.
“No…you’re just not usually like this.” Colby commented. “It’s nothing to do with Paul, is it?” A weird feeling hit the pit of Joe stomach as he heard his name. He felt horrible.
“Of course not,” He said placing his hand on Colby’s chest. “Why do you ask?” He wanted to know. Colby took hold of the hand on his chest, eyeing it. “I know what he can be like…well…going back. I don’t know what he’s like now but, are you sure you’re OK with him?”
“It’s fine. I mean, he has his moments but there’s something there. I can’t explain it but it seems he cares for me.” In a sick way he told himself. But he was willing to put up with it. “He knows that we’ve fooled around though.”
Colby’s eyes widened. “How?”
“He confronted me about it over the weekend,” Joe told him, looking into his eyes. “Not gonna lie, he was pissed about it. He’s had his suspicions.” Colby sat up and put his hands to his forehead. He sighed heavily. “What are you gonna do?”
“I don’t know.” Joe shrugged.
“Why did we just fuck if he probably doesn’t trust the fact that we’re rooming together?” Colby asked spreading his palms, watching as Joe sat up. “He doesn’t know and he doesn’t have to.”
“You’re playing a dangerous game man,” Colby got out of the bed as Joe watched.
“What are you doing?” He asked, watching the younger man get dressed hastily. “I’m going out, I need to clear my head,” Just like that, he was gone.

This Passage Contains Potentially: swearing, violence, blood, angst, whump, fluff and smutty content. Chapter-specific warning: This chapter contains mention of pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness, and Braxton Hicks contractions.
Summary: Snuka goes after both Roddy and Kirby, causing Rod and Snuka to get disqualifications and into actual fights.
Kirby's POV:
We were in the Boston Garden. I was sat next to the announcers desk and Snuka started yelling at me and then pulled me out of my chair and I fell backwards, over my own feet after trying to get away from a very pissed Snuka. Rod exited the ring, helping me up.
"Ya alright Kirbs?"
"I'm fine, Roddy, I fell over my own feet."
Rod quickly got back in the ring, followed quickly by an angered Snuka, holding a chair.
WHACK
"Roddy!"
I couldn't help the scream that escaped my lips when Rod's chest hit the mat.
I helped Rod to the back and stayed close to him, I turned my back to the locker room door for a few minutes as I leant against the wall, talking to Billie about Tito Santana.
"He's nice to me, hermana."
"So, you went out on a date?"
"Si, y'know, for a guy who's catchphrase is 'Arriba' I think he'd rather be 'debajo de mí'?"
"Billie, what does 'debajo de mí' mean?"
"Below me."
I felt a hand on the back of my arm and before I even realised who it was I had them in a sleeper hold. Upon realising who it was I swiftly let them go.
"I have never been in ma own sleeper hold, but I guess there truly is a first time for everything."
"Sorry, Roddy. I didn't realise it was you and I was just trying to protect mys-"
Rod cut me off with a gentle kiss.
"You're okay baby, if I were you, I would've done the same thing."
"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone, adios."
"Adios, hermana."
"I didn't know you could speak Spanish."
"I can only speak a little Spanish, Rod. I'm not gonna brag about something I'm not good at."
"What else can you do that I don't know about?"
"I speak a little French, a little German, some Norwegian, Irish Gaelic, Scots Gaelic and I speak Welsh fluently."
"How did ya learn to do the sleeper hold?"
"I watched you do it."
"So, you learnt from the best?"
"I guess I did, Roddy, I guess I did."
The next day I was at ringside for another Roddy vs Snuka bout.
After Snuka tossed Roddy back into the ring and cost himself the match he went after me.
Roddy got up just before Snuka started yelling insults in my direction.
Snuka started walking up to me as Roddy went to climb out of the ring.
The moment Rod's feet touched the floor, Snuka slapped me with the back of his hand right to my jaw, sending me sprawling to the floor.
Tony Colon, Jose Luis Rivera, Salvatore Bellomo and SD Jones had to run out to keep Snuka from attacking both me and Rod.
Rod kept going for Snuka until Orndorff, SD Jones and André held him back, with André helping me up.
McMahon gave Roddy three days to cool of, his next match being on the nineteenth and his next fight with Snuka being on the twentieth.
"That fucking asshole."
"Rod, focus on me, forget Snuka for the next three days, focus on me."
"He could have seriously hurt you, or worse…"
"I know," I mumbled out, putting a hand on my stomach, "Let's just get to Ohio and forget about all this shit."
"I'll treat ya, hon. What d'ya want to eat?"
"Burgers, then ice cream with maple syrup and blueberries."
"Ice cream and maple syrup?"
"Don't question a pregnant woman's cravings, boyo."
On the nineteenth, Roddy won against Rocky Johnson.
On the Twentieth Roddy and Snuka had a Fijian Strap match and Rod lost.
On the twenty-first Rod won against Salvatore Bellomo. On the twenty-second Rod won against B. Brian Blair. On the twenty-third Rod won against B. Brian Blair again, and again on the twenty-fourth.
On the Twenty-Sixth Rod lost by disqualification to Snuka.
On the Twenty-Seventh Rod, Adrian and Murdoch won against Snuka and the Samoans and After the show Rod and I hung out with the Tag Champs, Adrian and Murdoch as well as Ventura.
Ventura and me talked about Vickie for a short while and it seemed like Ventura was intrigued by her.
On the Twenty-Eighth in the Landover, Capital Centre. Rod defeated Snuka by Count-out, but they continued to brawl until myself and several others had to hold the two apart. Myself, Valentine, Orndorff and Orton held Roddy back so Snuka could get to the back, without Rod tearing him limb from limb.
On the Twenty-Ninth, Rod once again beat Snuka, after the Show Myself and Rod hung out with Orton and Orndorff.
On the Thirtieth, Rod had another bout with Snuka.
On the First of August, Rod won by count-out against Snuka, following the event we hung out with Ventura, Orton and Adonis.
I started to feel like thee days are blending together or repeating with only minor details changing, like the date and what exactly happens that day.
On the Second of August, Rod won against Snuka by count-out, again.
Again, on the Third, Rod, Adrian and Murdoch won against the Samoans and Snuka.
On the Fourth, Roddy won against Jimmy Snuka, again.
I drove home that night while Rod boarded a flight to Toronto, spending the fifth and sixth on my own.
I decided to spend a couple more days at home, until the Sixteenth.
On the Sixteenth, Rod, once again, had a bout with Snuka, which I was at ringside for.
On Friday the Seventeenth, Snuka noticed me at ringside after getting himself counted out and began yelling at me until the referee pulled him back and admonished him for doing so.
After the show we hung out with David (Schultz), Bobby (Orton) and Paul (Orndorff).
On the Saturday, myself and Bobby were backstage as Piper interviewed Sgt Slaughter.
On Monday, the twentieth Rod had yet another bout with Snuka and I decided to go back home to Salem for some well needed time to myself.
I didn't tell Rod, knowing he would try and stop me from leaving, I just left a note stating 'Need some time off, love you, will be in Salem.'
I reached the house by the Twenty-Third, answering the phone as it rung, right as I entered the kitchen.
"Hello?"
"Hi my love, did ya get home alright?"
"I got back fine, Roddy."
"When are ya gonna be back?"
"I'll be back on the first of September, alright, I'll meet you at the Philadelphia Spectrum, okay?"
"Okay."
I spent the following week, relaxing at home before driving back to see Roddy.
As I walked to ringside the crowd erupted into cheers and shouts of my name as well as 'Piper'.
The crowd continued to cheer as Rod climbed out of the ring and rushed up to me, pulling me into a loving embrace and pulling down my mask to plant a kiss on my lips, whilst the ref counted him out.
André and the crowd didn't seem to care about the fact that I had gotten Rod counted out of the bout, they only seemed to care that the Rowdy one had his right hand woman (or left, if Bob Orton was his right hand man) back by his side.
By the morning of the Seventh, Rod had noticed a subtle change in the way I dressed and I could tell that all throughout the day he was trying to pinpoint what was different about me.
That night, Roddy, Paul and Bobby took turns guessing what was different.
"Ya hair's different?" Orton started
"No."
"You got another tattoo?" Orndorff guessed
"No, although, that does sound like a good idea."
"Ya, uh " Rod paused, scanning from my boots to my hair before a wave of realisation hit him, "Ya finally look pregnant."
"What do you mean, Roderick?"
"The belly, you've got a slight bump."
"You're right, I dislike that I look slightly fat, but you're right."
"You're not fat, ya with child, there's a big difference."
It took another week for Rod to tell everyone.
It took another three weeks for Rod to get jealous of anyone paying me more attention than what seemed necessary.
By the Twelfth of October, I had started getting backache, the occasional passing faint feeling, as well as having some difficulty sleeping and 'Baby Brain' (aka forgetting very obvious things at random times). The morning sickness had gone away by this point.
But, the worst thing I started feeling was Braxton Hicks contractions.
The first time any of this really impacted me was after Rod had filmed a Piper's Pit segment with Tonga Kid on the Sunday.
"Ya alright Kirbs," Rod lifted my chin up, looking me in the eyes before lifting me out of my chair and walking me to the first aiders room.
I was checked out and let go, Rod's confusion when I entered the room quickly becoming anger at what I believe was the perceived notion that they refused to help me.
I grabbed Rod by the collar and planted a passionate kiss on his lips.
"I'm fine, Rod. Braxton Hicks. False contractions."
On the Seventeenth I had to lean on André for support backstage, right after he had pinned Roddy, making Rod justifiably both angry and jealous.
"That motherfucker."
"Roderick. He's my friend, anyway I felt faint and he's taller than me."
"Ya my wife."
"Don't get possessive, Rod."
"I'm sorry, I just, I don't like seeing you in the arms of another guy."
"Don't blame me, if anything, blame the universe."
"Why?"
"Because I'm a giant. Plus, you got me pregnant, right after we got married, which was in June. It's October, I'm due to give birth in February, And … oww."
"You alright, baby."
"Mmn, I'm fine, fucker kicked me."
"As in, the baby?"
"Yeah."
"Is that the first time it's happened?"
"Yeah."
"Did it hurt?"
"It surprised me more than anything."
I grabbed Roddy's wrist, pressing his hand against my stomach as the baby kicked again.
"Oh … my … God."
"Strong baby."
"Strong parents can make a strong baby."
"If I slap you, would the baby kick me?"
"Kirbs, don't you dare."
We started laughing to ourselves over the absurdity of the moment.
We had the Eighteenth off and Rod decided to invite Bret over.
A knock at the hotel room door signified Hart's arrival.
"Hey, Cousin."
"Hi Roddy. Hi Missus Piper."
"Oh, Bret. You know you can call me Kirby."
Both Myself and Roddy had seniority over Bret but we didn't really care much about that, to us he's family, and family comes first.
We spent the day chatting and relaxing with Bret in a café, going over things such as giving Bret advice on how to get the crowd behind him and Rod insisted on him doing promos.
I hadn't realised that Roddy had his hand on my stomach all day until Bret brought it up.
"Rod, why's your hand permanently on Kirby's stomach?"
"Because, Bret, yesterday something very important happened and I'm not missing it again."
"Kirby, what does Roddy mean by that?"
"The baby kicked for the first time yesterday. Rod's just making sure he feels it when the baby kicks or punches."
We were right back to work the following day. The days blended together in my mind up until the Twenty-Eighth, where I remember being backstage whilst Rod did a Piper's Pit segment with Valentine and Captain Lou.
The next day I remember is the Thirtieth, when Rod lost by DQ to Hogan. The only reason I remember this is because I yelled 'Fuck him' when Piper brought up Hogan being the champ after the bout, back at the hotel.
The days blended together for another short while until the Third of November, Making a fuss while Rod was working as Moolah had taken it upon herself to piss me off.
After the show had finished Moolah had taken to questioning me about both my status as a wrestler and if Rod was truly the father of my child.
Rod had to hurl me over his shoulder to stop me from jumping on Moolah and beating her to a pulp.
On the Seventh, Rod made sure I stayed backstage during his match, he did the same on the Eighth, making sure that Schultz, Valentine and Orndorff had me protected.
On the Tenth, Rod made sure I was protected by Orton for the whole show, after both Rod's bout with Hogan and the Piper's Pit segment, we went back to the hotel with Schultz, Valentine and Orton.
On the Eleventh, Rod brought me to ringside with him, but lost to Hogan. Once again, we hung out with Orton, Schultz and Valentine that night.
Between the night of the Eleventh and the morning of the Seventeenth, Rod let me stay at the hotels instead of being with him for shows.

Hounds of Justice--Ch. 69
A/N: For Ro--welcome back Big Dog!
Tumblr media
Chapter 69
           “It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since you debuted,” Dean said, barely understandable around a mouth full of burger. We were at a hole in the wall place in Ohio, near the same arena where I debuted almost exactly one year before.
           I pushed my fries around my plate, trying to find one of the mushy ones that were my favorite. “Yeah. Six months of action and six months of this,” I replied, gesturing to the chair beneath me. Shrugging, I popped a fry through my mouth.
           “But it was a hell of a six months, wasn’t it, dollface?” I could tell he was trying to keep things light and playful. I was glad for it.
           “Damn right it was.” I grinned at him, picked up the burger that he’d ordered for me. It was huge—overflowing with sautéed onions and mushrooms, cheddar cheese, grilled pineapple, and barbeque sauce—and I didn’t know how I was going to finish even half of it.
           We were quiet for a few minutes as we both dug in to our food. It had been a long time since Dean and I had been able to just sit down, the two of us together. He was so much like Georgie and Bran, but there was something else about him—something that made him a missing piece of my soul. I loved him in a way that I couldn’t explain. It was like he knew the depths of the thoughts in my mind—how dark and frightening they could be. He was a balm to all that pain, because he understood it. He knew what it was like to feel out of place, like everything could be taken from you in an instant with no warning.
           Dean Ambrose was the rock beneath my feet, the calm in the storm of life. And I’d be forever grateful to him for it.
           “Nervous for your first night on the job?” He wiped his mouth, leaned his elbow on the table. His eyes twinkled playfully.
           “Not really.” I shrugged. Having him close by made it easier to think about sitting backstage in gorilla, headset on, tapped in to the referees as I produced my first match. “Especially since it’s your match. You’re a boss at what you do, Dean. Everyone who gets in the ring with you looks fantastic.”
           He grinned, pleased with the ego stroking. “That might be true—hell, it is true. But other than Seth and Ro, you are the one who knows me the best inside that ring. It doesn’t matter that we only worked together for six months in there. You’re like Seth—between those ropes, you know me inside and out.”
           I blushed and reached over, squeezing his hand. “Love you, Dean.”
           “You, too, dollface.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
           Hunter made sure I had a place that was comfortable for me—enough space to move if I needed to, a wireless headset to talk to the refs, even a mobile monitor if I needed to go somewhere. It wouldn’t have surprised me if he came out with a custom rig for my chair with all my production gear.
           I was set up near Vince which made me more than a little nervous. Especially since Dean was the Universal Champion. Even if the match wasn’t for his title, no one wanted the Universal Champion to lose on a Monday night to a mid-card player. As much as I liked Elias, Dean was more important.
           Dean bounced nearby, his title around his waist, wrists taped up, a grin spread on his face. He smiled over at me, winking playfully as his music hit. Elias was already in the ring, trying his best to get out a song before he got interrupted. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t get very far.
           I watched on the monitor as Dean sauntered down the ramp, cracking his neck side to side as he went. A grin settled on my face as I watched him, having missed the way he moved, the kind of confidence he had when he was in the zone. He was a thing of beauty—lithe, graceful, powerful, enticing. I loved watching him wrestle. It was one of the things that made me the happiest.
           The match kicked off. The two of them locked up in the center of the ring, trading holds and blows. The pace picked up quickly—one corner to the other, flinging each other against the ropes, bouncing back. Clotheslines. Shoulder tackles. Chin locks. Elbows. Boots. Elias was a little bigger, but Dean was fast and smooth.
           They hit every point of the match we’d planned. A fight over the guitar outside the ring. Elias getting suplexed from the second rope. Dean getting caught up in a sleeper hold near the center of the ring. He hit his knees, Elias putting his body weight on his neck. Dean started to fade, and the crowd started stomping, clapping, chanting his name.
           Let’s Go Dean thundered through the arena. I grinned as he started fighting his way to his feet. He ran Elias back into the turnbuckle, shook him loose.
           The match ended with Dean hitting Elias with a Hook-and-Ladder. A count of two and a half. Elias tried to roll Dean into Drift Away, but got caught in Dirty Deeds instead. The three count was easy after that.
           Dean strutted back up the ramp holding his title over his head. He dripped sweat, his hair matted on his forehead. I watched as he winked at Renee at commentary before he slipped into the backstage area. He crossed gorilla and dropped a kiss on the top of my head.
           “You did good, dollface.”
           He disappeared back into the locker room area—hopefully to take a shower. I slipped off the headset and put it beside the monitor. Vince gave me a barely noticeable nod of approval before I rolled off in search of Seth and Roman.
           I found Roman first. He was sitting on top of a road crate, headphones on, phone in his hand. I tapped his boot to get his attention. He grinned, lighting up his black eyes. His damp hair was drawn back in a knot, his gloves lying on the crate beside him.
           “How’d it go, itiiti?” His voice was rich and deep, a sound that I’d missed hearing so much.
           I smiled back at him, trying not to cry. “Fantastic, but it was Dean’s match. You know he wasn’t going to let me look bad on my first night.”
           Roman chuckled. “They wouldn’t have trusted you with a UC match if they didn’t know you could make it look great.”
           My heart swelled with love for the Hounds who had taken me in—for Dean who had become my other half, for Roman who would always be the anchor in my life, and for Seth who had swept my heart into the whirlwind. My vision blurred. I wiped furiously at my lashes.
           “Hey,” Roman murmured, fingers against my cheek. He tucked hair behind my ear. “Don’t do that. You’re back and there’s no cause for crying. Ia fiafia, tuafafine laititti.”
           I sniffled, giggling. “All I got out of that was little sister.”
           He laughed. It was that musical chuckle of his that always enhanced the warmth that radiated off him. “We’ve really got to work on your Samoan, Llane.”
           “You can teach me in the car,” I said, finding my smile again. “I’m going back on the road with you guys.”
           “Good. It’s about time.” He hopped off the crate, his smile still radiating brightness and joy. “It’s good to have you back, itiiti.”
           He brushed a kiss on my forehead before grabbing his gloves and stalking toward gorilla. Shaking my head blissfully, I took off in search of Seth.
WWE NXT 8/21/19 Review
Undisputed Era Promo: Adam Cole started things out by saying that he did everything that he said he would do. He put himself over as the greatest NXT Champion of all time. Roddy then said that the entire stable deserves to be draped in gold, and said that everyone got screwed in their matches. Roddy Strong said that Velveteen Dream didn’t pin him, so he should still be in the title picture. Kyle O’Reilly pointed out that the illegal man was pinned in their tag match at Takeover Toronto. Bobby Fish then called out William Regal, and told him to make it right. Cole then put over all of the stable, telling them that they will win their championships back sooner rather than later.
As they were walking to the back, Jordan Myles came out with his NXT Breakout Tournament contract. Cole then asked if he was joking, and told him that he would break his face if he challenged him. Then he suggested that he challenge Shayna Baszler, or one of the other champions on the developmental brands. Cole told him that challenging Cole would be a total mistake, and that he would make him into a failure. Myles then handed the contract over, and dropped it to make him sign it.
Grade: B. Fine promo, Cole has waaaay more charisma than anyone else in the stable, but they were all such annoying jocks that it didn’t matter. Cole’s promo against Myles was really good. He was intimidating and felt like a huge star. He put down every other champion, and did it in a way that elevated him rather than hurting them. This is definitely a match that I’m looking forward to, although they later announced that it will take place on NXT TV rather than on Takeover. Highlight of the night.
Bronson Reed backstage: Reed talked about how he wants to continue getting some opportunities, when Shane Thorne confronted him and asked for a match. That was confirmed. Also, Reed called himself the resident thicc boi of NXT, so that happened.
Damian Priest vs. Mansoor: They talked about how Mansoor won the 50 battle royal earlier this year, which I completely forgot about. Priest put Mansoor in the corner, and absolutely refused to pack down, but Mansoor showed his courage by pushing him away. As Priest beat down the more inexperienced star, Mansoor got a rollup, and then started to get some offense in, until Priest scored a huge kick. Priest finished him off with The Reckoning and the win.
Grade: C+. Inoffensive squash, cool to see Mansoor. Priest is getting a generic heel push that will probably result in a North American championship match.
Mia Yim vs. Vanessa Borne: Aliyah accompanied her partner to the ring, and remained in her corner. They started with a lockup, but Yim gained the advantage with a stiff strike right away. That is until Aliyah went to trip him up, and Borne took advantage with a Samoan drop. Yim quickly worked her way back into the match and won with Protect Ya Neck.
After the match, Shayna Baszler showed up and stood at the top of the entrance ramp. She got on the mic and called her a badass, and put her over for all the adversity she overcame. Then Baszler offered her to become an ally, alongside Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke. Yim rejected it, so Shafir and Baszler attacked. Duke had an arm injury. Refs had to run in and break things up.
Grade: C+. Inoffensive squash and a needed win for Mia Yim after her high profile loss. The little promo from Baszler was fine, but Yim rejecting the offer wasn’t in doubt. I don’t think that they will go back to this well for the next Takeover, but maybe they will. Who knows.
Bronson Reed vs. Shane Thorne: I really do not know why “resident thicc boi” is a nickname for Reed, but I guess it is. It is neither cool, nor menacing in any way. Thorne opted to target Reed’s huge legs with some well placed kicks, trying to break down the much bigger man. The second that Reed got ahold of Thorne, he tore him to the ground and started some submission work on the arm. At one point, the two were running the ropes and Reed caught him in a sit out spinebuster for a near fall. It looked really good. Every time that Reed took control back, Thorne was able to fight back with his striking and a bit of flying, but he was no match for the raw strength and size of Reed. In the finish, Reed went up top for the senton, but Thorne pulled him off and nailed a running knee for the win.
Grade: B-. Fine match, a lot of back and forth. The two blended together pretty well, but it was a slower match than I am normally into. The two were striking each other with really nice hits, but they never kicked into second gear. I like this story for Thorne, but I still wish that he would leave and join New Japan again. Mikey Nicholls needs a tag partner.
Velveteen Dream promo: He road out on his sofa throne, in full ring gear. He announced his t-shirt, and a bunch more of his merch. He told Roderick Strong that if he wants a rematch, it needs to have a stipulation that he has never been in. He told him not to take long though, because he may just move on. Interesting. I’m not going to grade this because it was pretty short and was basically a backstage segment anyway.
Killian Dain vs. Matt Riddle: Finally, we are getting this match. Before the match, Riddle ambushed Dain from behind, and started the match as fast as he could. The two big men beat the crap out of each other, and just traded heavy strikes over and over. By the time Dain actually got control of things in a decisive manner, the match slowed down quite a bit. Dain worked over the already injured ribs of Riddle, which he had taped up as he came out to the ring. At one point, Riddle hit an awesome high angle German suplex for a near fall. He then spun Dain out for a knee, only for Dain to immediately hit a shotgun dropkick, followed by a cannonball for another near fall. Dain then went for a senton, but Riddle locked in a sleeper hold, only for Dain to toss him out. Riddle then hit the Bro To Sleep, a powerbomb, and a Flash Knee, but still only a near fall. Riddle then went for a move onto the steel steps, but Dain dropped him face first onto it, followed by a senton onto it. Dain then hit a Vader bomb on the outside, followed by three in the ring for the win.
After the match, Riddle stormed up the stage and attacked Dain as the cameras cut.
Grade: C-. I wasn’t into this match. Dain didn’t really impress me a lot here, and Riddle seemed to have to slow down for him, and it made for a fun hoss fight at times, but mostly it was just two big guys hitting each other sometimes. Dain didn’t live up to my expectations, but maybe I set them too high.
Overall Grade: C+
Pros: opening promo
Cons: main event
9/27/2010-PCW Night of Champions: PCW Rewind
PCW Night of Champions PCW Hall Archbold, OH Monday September 27th, 2010 Host: Johnny Suave
Loud PCW chant as the show begins.  ‘The Voice of PCW’ Johnny Suave welcomes everyone to PCW Night of Champions.
Johnny Suave and his life size cardboard cut-out of Shania Twain
*flute and clarinet flourish*
Two men come out and unroll a white carpet to the ring steps. Dancers then dance. Ballet dancers…ballet? Little children walk up the white carpet and drop rose petals. Someone lets loose some pigeons…not sure just how they’ll get out of the building.  The crowd stands as PCW CEO Barack Obama appears.  Behind Obama walks Joe Biden.
Obama and Biden climb into the ring accompanied by Hillary Clinton and Rahm-bo aka Rahm Emanuel.
Obama’s out because of the demands made by Axis of Evil leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
*ominous music plays*
Ahmadinejad, accompanied by Khalid-El, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez with Fernando Venezuela, and North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il with Byung Hyung Kang, walk to the ring to a chorus of boos.
Ahmadinejad and the rest of the AoE climb into the ring.  Ahmadinejad states he’s come to PCW to correct an injustice.  An injustice towards one of his wrestlers that he feels needs to be addressed.  Ahmadinejad complains that his wrestler, Khalid-El, is being passed over for a title shot in favor of a woman.  He holds up a photo of Jill-Berg and turns to Obama.  He calls it an outrage that this…woman…gets a shot at the PCW title instead of Khalid-El.   Ahmadinejad then adds that this is to be expected from a country hose government orchestrated the 9/11 attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime. The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view.
At that point, Obama, Biden, HRC, and Emanuel leave the ring in protest as the crowd boos Ahmadinejad.
Ahmadinejad adds that the attack could have been the work of terrorists, supported by the U.S., which “took advantage of the situation” as more boos rain in.  He again demands justice for Khalid-El and a title shot and wants his answer now.  Then Ahmadinejad finally realizes that Obama et al have long since left the ring area and heads off to search for him.
Paige McGillicutty
Backstage, Paige McGillicutty talks with Triple R.  He, too, complains.  He doesn’t want to waste the time to wrestle Jill-Berg when it’s clear that he’ll wipe the ring up with her.
Kimber Marshall
Kimber Marshall introduces the first match of the night.
MATCH #1 FOR THE PCW TELEVISION TITLE Ken Worth- The American Trucker (I-American Heartland) (c) w/ Tequila Sheila vs. Doug ‘King Kong’ Kingman (R)
Summary Big PCW chant before the bell. Kingman and the American Trucker did some nice back and forth counter wrestling early. Kingman tried to use his power moves while Worth was effective in countering.  Worth armdragged Kingman to the floor. Worth whipped Kingman into the steel guardrail. Worth nailed a missile dropkick off the top. Kingman came back with a lariat. Worth nailed the Jake Brake and scored the pin.
WINNER AND STILL PCW TELEVISION CHAMPION: Ken Worth- The American Trucker @ 15:20
Suave notes that the guile and experience of Ken Worth comes out on top of the brute power of Doug Kingman.
Paige McGillicutty has Jill-Berg with her.  Berg dismisses Ahmadinejad’s complaints about her.  McGillicutty asks if she has any concerns about the Axis of Evil interfering in the match.  Berg says no and brings out Daisy Cutter-Bomb.  Suave happily notes that DCB returns to PCW after a lengthy absence and mutters something about absence…or was it abstinence… making the heart fonder.  Berg says she’s confident that Daisy Cutter-Bomb will watch her back against Triple R.
MATCH #2 FOR THE PCW TAG TEAM TITLE The Kings of Old School: Ricky Michaels and Marty Lane (c) w/ ‘Rahm-Bo’ Rahm Emanuel (D) vs. The International Hit Squad: ‘Foul Pole’ Andy Golatta and Daniel-San w/ Mrs. Miyagi (I)
Suave states it’s the Democrats versus the true Independents in this battle as Golatta and Daniel-San have not joined a faction to date.
Summary Ricky Michaels took the mic before the match. Big “PCW” chant. Michaels said that “These people are ready.” He told Golatta and Daniel-San that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time because they were the most hardcore team in PCW.  He said that if there’s one thing that Kings of Old School does better than anyone else, it was giving their people what they want to see- the Democrats in the victory column.  Fans began chanting for Golatta and Daniel-San which pissed the Kings off.  Golatta and Daniel-San attacked them from behind. The Kings came back and tossed them to the floor. They brawled on the floor and the aisle. Fans chanted PCW.  Golatta took a camera from a cameraman and then shot Michaels as he was out on the floor. Golatta and Lane returned to the ring with Golatta drilling him with a back elbow. Lane came back with a swinging neckbreaker.
Daniel-San tagged in and cleaned house.  He teased a Cattle Mutilation after a backdrop but Lane dove out of the ring.  Daniel-San followed him and slammed Lane facefirst into the canvas.  Rahm Emanuel got involved and helped Lane cut off Daniel-San.   They returned to the ring and Lane reversed a whip and sent Daniel-San hard into the buckles, then drilled him into the mat.  Daniel-San was choked against the ropes with help from Emanuel.  Lane came off the ropes and dropped an elbow. Lane cinched in a side chinlock.  This time, Mrs. Miyagi intervened, distracting Lane while Daniel-San came back with a back kick.  Michaels now in the ring.  He grabs Mrs. Miyagi and tosses her out of the ring.   Lane with a forearm to Daniel-San and went back to the side chinlock.
Michaels tagged in with a slingshot senton.  The Kings of Old School worked Daniel-San over in their corner.  Golatta tagged in and cleaned house.  Golatta got a table and set it up as Lane returned to the ring.   Both teams brawled in the ring with cooking sheets and a trash can/lid.  Daniel-San got busted open.  Daniel-San played the face in peril as Michaels and Lane took turns beating on him in the corner.  Golatta finally got the hot tag in.  Golatta gets a two count and tags Daniel-San back in as Lane tags in Michaels. Daniel-San fires off some lightning kicks. Michaels locks in an armbar, but Daniel-San reaches the ropes for the break.  Daniel-San is able to lock in a single leg crab, but Marty Lane threatens to get in the ring and the breaks the hold. Lane charges in anyway and Golatta and Daniel-San set up a double tree of woe and finish off the FBI with a killer baseball slide drop kick!  The Kings attempt to regroup but Mrs. Miyagi goes up top and surprises everyone with an insane Asai Moonsault to Michaels and Lane outside of the ring!  Golatta gets back in the ring but Emanuel pulls him out. Golatta sucks up the strength to get back in the ring as Lane heads in for a two count on Golatta. Lane sets up Golatta in a camel clutch and Michaels dusts him off with a drop kick to the face. Daniel-San enters and kicks the crap out of Lane.  That sends him out the ring. Michaels gets a 2 count on Daniel-San who’s now legal.  The Kings tries to double team Daniel-San but he nails them with a reverse flying elbow.  Golatta enters the ring and he and Daniel-San set up a stereo sleeper submission hold.  Emanuel gets in the ring and Golatta and Daniel-San drop him with a twin drop kick.  Lane and Michaels capitalize and ambush Golatta and Daniel-San.  Golatta is sent out the ring over the ropes and into first row.  Lane and Michaels hit a double fisherman driver on Daniel-San and get the 3 count.
WINNER AND STILL PCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Kings of Old School: Ricky Michaels and Marty Lane (D) @ 24:17
Post match, Emanuel drops an F-Bomb on Golatta while Lane and Michaels continue their beatdown of Daniel-San.
Mrs. Miyagi climbs to the top turnbuckle again and out of nowhere runs down the Leader of the PCW Competition Committee Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi tries to pull Mrs. Miyagi off the top rope.  Then…
Here comes Triple R with a steel chair!  He goes after Jill-Berg.  Daisy punches the chair into Triple R’s face.  Jill-Berg with a buzzsaw kick into the chair.   Triple R down.  Daisy drags him up…DAISY CUTTER POWERBOMB ON THE FLOOR!  Suave thinks he’s dead.
Pelosi is trying to get the red mist out of her eyes as Daisy throws Triple R into the ring.
MATCH #3- WINNER GUARANTEED PCW TITLE SHOT AT EXTREME ELECTION 2010 Jill Berg (R) vs. Triple R (D)
Daisy in the ring.  She picks up Triple R…SPEAR!  Daisy drags him up…JACKHAMMER SLAM!  She pulls him up…Jill Berg with another buzzsaw kick.  Cover…1…2…3!
WINNER: Jill Berg (R) @ :33
Pelosi finally clears her eyes and sees what just took place.  She cries out ‘NOOOOOOO!’ as Berg points at her.  Pelosi stomps up and down outside the ring.
Suave screeches ‘AXIS OF EVIL’ as Khalid-El delivers a vicious forearm shiver to Jill Berg’s back.  The big 7 footer Fernando Venezuela spins Daisy around and grabs her by the throat.  CHOKE SLAM!   Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, and Kim Jong-Il walk down with big smiles on their faces as Khalid-El, Venezuela, and Byung Hyung Kang stand over the fallen Berg and Daisy.
Backstage, Paige McGillicutty has rock star Katy Perry.  Perry plays the video of her duet with Sesame Street’s Elmo that the children’s show decided not to play due to the low-cut dress she was wearing.
Suave: “Yeah.  It’s because she’s got a big rack and it showed even though Perry was wearing a flesh colored cover underneath.
Suave: “Wait…I see what the problem is.  Elmo is naked!
Chism took the mic and said it was great to be back in PCW with all of his fans.  The crowd, of course, booed him in return.  Chism told them you’re going to enjoy the best wrestler in the house and watch the referee count 1-2-3 for him.
KERRY VON ERICH vs BOGOTA PUNK
Tumblr media
BOGOTA PUNK started with control taking down Foot Von Erich with some spinning back kicks and a couple of elbows. Foot Von Erich did manage to snap BOGOTA PUNK’s neck on the ropes, but BOGOTA PUNK was still able to toss Foot Von Erich to the floor and land a pescado to maintain control and get a two count.
BOGOTA PUNK went for a superplex, but Foot Von Erich dropped him after he bit him and hit a diving elbow for a two count. Young dropped a couple of knees and elbows for another pin attempt. Young choked BOGOTA PUNK in the corner and went for a double axe handle from the second rope, but BOGOTA PUNK caught him with a northern lights bridge for a two count, Erich responded with a clothesline to regain control.
Foot Von Erich went back to work for the neck, almost choking out BOGOTA PUNK, but BOGOTA PUNK made a comeback. He took down Foot Von Erich with a sidekick, a scoop slam, and dropped a knee to the face. BOGOTA PUNK hit the Samoan drop and standing moonsault combo for a two count.
BOGOTA PUNK went for the stunner, but Foot Von Erich raked BOGOTA PUNK’s Foot Von Erichs to counter. BOGOTA PUNK was able to still hit the stunner. BOGOTA PUNK teased going for the 6-star frog splash, but instead took out a chair.
The referee told him he’d DQ PUNK, but BOGOTA PUNK said he didn’t care this time, set up a Pillmanizer and went for the top rope.
However, Garth Lane came running out with a handful of helium balloons. This distracted Punk
allowing Foot Von Erich to recover, block BOGOTA PUNK, and dropped him with a piledriver to pick up the win. Pretty good opener.
WINNER: FOOT VON ERICH
CBWA INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION PN NEWS JR. vs BOLTSY
Garth W Lane, newest member of the Gibson Agency, made his way down to the ring using his father’s theme music. This will be his CBWA debut.
Big Bubba is backstage with Ken Resnick. Bubba says that Garth is not the son of his boss Fake Stan Lane and that if it’s a beating he wants - he’s the guy to get it done.
Big Bubba can’t believe that he’s in the ring with a teenage, half of his size. Bubba locked up with little Garth and used his strength in the early going with Lane only getting in a springboard crossbody in the opening exchanges.
Big Bubba found himself on the outside and Lane wiped him out with another crossbody, this time to the floor. But the story of the match continued on the outside as Big Bubba powerfully reversed a whip and sent Lane into the guardrail.
Big Bubba got sent into the crowd but he quickly turned around, ran, and jumped back over the rail, taking Lane out with him.
Back inside, Big Bubba took out Lane with a slingshot shoulder block. Lane reversed a pop-up powerbomb into a hurricanrana and then drove Big Bubba to the mat with a tornado DDT.
Foot Von Erich then made his way out to the ring as Big Bubba backdropped his way out of a piledriver and then took Lane's head off with a big boot.
Foot Von Erich got up onto the apron for the distraction. Bubba ignored him and delivered a second Big Bubba Bomb but it was reversed into another DDT by Lane.
Lane then came off the top rope with both of his knees landing down hard on Big Bubba’s head. Lane pinned him for the win.
Garth was quick to roll out into the arms of Foot Von Erich. Both of them celebrating as The Eye of Gibson came out onto the entrance ramp.
Gibson on the mic called Bubba a big fat embarrassment.
Bubba was slow to get up and was bleeding all over the mat.
WINNER: Garth W Lane
They are Karma.
Lacey Karmens is another MPW original making their Clusterfuck debut. Last year’s Thunder in Paradise ended with loss, and Lacey’s had that sour taste in their mouth ever since. And they finally have the chance to redeem themselves, bursting into the chaos, instantly bringing down Miyu with a powerful running knee strike! They duck a clothesline from Tony on their way to the ropes, cartwheeling past him, before Lacey backflips, captures Tony with their feet, and tosses him with a headscissor takeover! They kip up, but almost immediately are greeted by a spear from Tom Lawlor! Lawlor tries to toss them over the top, but Lacey gets a foot on the apron, keeping them alive. But Tom is persistent, charging Lacey, and cracks their temple with a knee strike! They have to be out cold after that… but by some luck, their toes stop them from being eliminated! Lacey hangs onto the bottom rope with the tips of their toes, however unintentional it may have been, but Lacey is still in this thing!
Elsewhere, Abigail’s in trouble on the apron. Cole’s put her over the top rope already, and has her on the brink of elimination, but a shoulder check puts some space between them. Giving Abigail a chance to slingshot back into safety, catching Cole around the head, and spiking him with a DDT! The other Undisputed Elite members aren’t much better off, Bobby being pinned across the ropes by Atticus, the younger man clawing at his skin and choking him, while O’Reilly was at the mercy of Jordan Oliver, Oliver beating him down on the outside. Neither man was eliminated, but wanted to separate themselves from the cluttered ring. Zach was getting choked out in the corner by Reigns, the Tribal Chief trying to weaken him so he can dump Wentz over the ropes, or even choke him out in a Guillotine.
Pandemonium jumps on Reigns' back, getting him in a Sleeper hold, but she can’t get it fully locked in. Reigns reaches behind him, shaking Pandemonium, before he’s able to grab the back of her head and flip him off his back. She’s tossed into the corner, getting pressed up against Zach, and Roman picks them both up across his shoulders! Pan and Zach suffer a Samoan Drop at the hands of Roman Reigns! Abigail’s escaped Cole, but quickly finds a new adversary in the form of her old tag team partner, Danhausen unloading on her again, before Abigail shoves him off. Danhausen tries charging her again, but Abigail lifts him up, and puts him on the apron! Abigail charges him, and knocks Danhausen off the apron with a big boot!
“Danhausen has been eliminated.”
Lacey slingshots into the ring, taking Cole down with a jawbreaker, before turning their sights to Abigail. The two trade shots as we welcome our next entrant. #17.
Letter from Robert Louis Stevenson to Henry Newbolt, 1893
By 1893, author Robert Louis Stevenson had spent five years exploring the islands of the Pacific Ocean with his family. In that time he had befriended the King of Hawaii and waged a war of words with a Presbyterian minister on Molokai. Perhaps most notably, he was in Samoa during the tense Samoan Crisis and Samoan Civil War of 1889, which he meticulously documented. In 1893, he returned to a much quieter Samoa, and used his time on the island to write and relax with his wife and children.
English authors Henry Newbolt and Mary Elizabeth Coleridge decided to send Stevenson adventure novels they had written - Newbolt’s Taken From the Enemy and Coleridge’s Seven Sleepers of Ephesus. On reading the books, Stevenson sent his critiques to the authors, largely offering high praise.
The letter comes to us as part of the  Frances W. and H. Jack Lang Letter Collection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vailima Samoa April 8th 1893
Henry Newbolt Esq
Dear Mr. Newbolt
This little while back I have been out of sorts and much in want of entertainment. I have taken up novel after novel and flung them away again with curses; for about a month I have not got to the last page of one. Now last night, being very tired and rather dull and a trifle cross, I took up your story after dinner and finished it before I slept with a real amusement. So you see that your kindly little attention has been blessed, and that the ‘eighteen penny cutlet’ was well cooked.
I cannot say that it is very strong. You have a great deal to learn yet; but if you are as I suppose a young man, there is no reason why you should not learn it. Your plot is ingenious, particularly in the end. It seems to me as if you had scarce begun it quite right - as if there were a little too much introduction - as if the note of ambiguity and deceit which broods over the whole story should have been more immediately and strongly struck. But I may very well be in error as to this, and I have no doubt you have entered on a path on which you may easily learn to do better and make me wait for Mr. Newbolt’s stories as a periodical treat. Your friend’s book I have not yet finished; and I confess I am quite in a taking as to how long she is to get out of the muddle. If she does get out she is devilish ingenious. And there is no doubt that her book also lets itself be read (as the French say) which is after all the first thing and for aught I know (though we take ourselves so seriously) may very well be the last also.
Yours truly Robert Louis Stevenson
NWA TNA Episode 7 - Part 1, The Truth Hurts
Tumblr media
TNA Asylum, Nashville, Tennessee
It's been a while.
X Division Title Match AJ Styles [c] w/ Jerry Lynn vs "Prime Time" Elix Skipper
Elix beats on AJ when he turns his back during the entrance, making the bell ring. Jerry Lynn joins commentary. They trade some innovative offense, different dropkick variations, while the announcers put over Elix's WCW accomplishments as well as AJ's run as the X division ace of TNA to date. They're going at a little bit of a slower pace, with a couple of submissions and counters traded. It eventually spills outside, and Elix gets the better of AJ with a twisting dive. Elix mugs and then gets the Play of the Day reversed into the Styles Clash, which reverses into a few pinning maneuvers until a slightly botched Styles dropkick gives Elix a really rough landing from the ring ropes. Styles hits the Spiral Tap for the win after 12 minutes or so.
**3/4 An opening big title match! AJ Styles has been fairly dominant, but Elix still looked okay. It was just a little slow and long though, felt like both guys were going at slightly half speed.
The announcers go over the latest TNA news and World Title drama involving the authority, Ricky Steamboat, Jarrett, Malice, etc. Skipper is slowly leaving the ring in defeat meanwhile, and "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown bursts onto the entrance ramp to confront him. Elix shortly gives in to two Alpha Bombs without being able to defend himself after his title match. Jeff Jarrett won't wait for the announcers to finish their wrap up, and he storms the ring with a burlap sack/body bag.
Jarrett reveals a bound and gagged midget, whom he promises to cripple on live PPV. "Oh my god, I just had a mini-stroke!" Puppet the Midget Killer comes out, angry at Jarrett taking his shtick, calling him "slapnutz", then pulling a pistol from his waistband?!?! Security rushes, cautiously, then Jarrett takes him out with a chair, bravely. He's the heel in this scenario? Some boring Ricky the Dragon authority drama follows. They tease a match until Scott Hall attacks to hype their stretcher match.
Sonny Siaki is cutting a Rock derivative promo about his match with Slash, talking in the third person about flying solo tonight against the New Church.
Slash w/ James Mitchell vs Sonny Siaki
Siaki starts with some quick offense. He hits a big pop up samoan drop, flipping leg drop, and reverses a sunset flip to the outside to a hurricanrana. James Mitchell joins commentary to describe the blood in the little urn / ark he has been carrying around lately. After they're both crotched on the top rope, Slash misses a flipping senton, giving Siaki the advantage. Now Siaki misses a top rope move, and James Mitchell distracts the ref allowing Slash to grab an executioner's hood so he can blind Siaki and hit a neckbreaker finisher for the win after 8 minutes.
** This was pretty average stuff, they both showed flashes, and the match was pretty competitive for a short while, but it was just kind of there.
Mitchell and Slash tie up Siaki and begin to "desecrate" him with blood from the urn. One of the Nazi heads of security runs down to save the "Flying Elvis". Goldylocks has a boring authority interview with Ricky The Dragon Steamboat.
R-Truth comes out, asks them to cut his music, begins speaking to his "sista" dancing in the cage to his right. He's gonna try to liberate her. He's eventually rude enough to get a slap, "The truth hurts, don't it?" Monty Brown comes out and attacks Truth before it can escalate any further. Truth smacks him with a trashcan and goes backstage. Ricky Steamboat comes out to invite Truth back out, whose music bizarrely plays again before he returns for a long promo-authority segment.
It's kind of bizarre how many dual storylines are going on right now… AJ in the X Division Title and Tag title with Jerry Lynn. Ricky fighting against Jarrett and Truth. Monty Brown always attacking Elix Skipper and Truth. Anyways.
Truth talks his way into Dragon abruptly giving him an NWA Heavyweight Championship match against Ken Shamrock for next week.
Malice w/ James Mitchell vs Apolo
The announcers put over how these two have an impressive win loss record and could very well be in line for a NWA title shot ahead of The Truth. Meanwhile, the big guys wail on each other in the ring, bouncing from turnbuckle to turnbuckle. Apolo botches a hurricanrana into a meteora of sorts, but recovers with a very large tope dive onto the outside. They keep brawling on the outside, and eventually one of the throws into stuff busts Apolo open, giving Malice control. Apolo shows some flashes, Malice keeps getting 2 counts, frustrated, until Apolo hits a flash superkick for a surprise win. 7 minutes? The ref takes some of the New Church's frustration until Security returns. In the end, though, the New Church desecrates Security with some more of their ark blood after getting the numbers advantage.
** Kind of plodding, the win was kind of a nice surprise. It didn't overstay its welcome, but nothing about it was really a standout.
Don West interviews Miss TNA Taylor Vaughn in the ring until Bruce comes out to request a match to be Miss TNA. She accepts the challenge with a low blow?
Miss TNA Title Match Taylor Vaughn [c] vs Bruce
This is official, the bell rung, and she hit a snap suplex out of nowhere for a two count. They trade some takedowns and it looks briefly competitive until Bruce reverses a tilt awhirl attempt by her into a faceplanting slam for the win. Only two minutes.
3/4* Bad. Bruce is shaking with excitement as he is crowned.
Low-Ki vs Jerry Lynn w/ AJ Styles
Great matchup on paper. Goldylocks talks to Low Ki prematch who tells her that she likes to do her talking in the ring. The match switches gears from a faster style, to some submissions, to Low Ki's strikes as it goes. AJ is kind of dead in the water on commentary, barely getting a word into the 3-way booth. They start swinging for the big moves in ring, with Jerry Lynn's cradle piledriver getting reversed into a vicious armbar. Lynn with a crash landing suplex for only 2. Low Ki reverses off the ropes into a few hard strikes, flipping roll up for 2. The two start going blow for blow in the middle of the ring with huge strikes until Low Ki hits a high springboard kick leaving both down. Low Ki chains a rollup for 2 into the Dragon Clutch Sleeper, which Jerry escapes with a tornado DDT for another great series of near falls. Low Ki flip kicks out of the cradle piledriver and calls for the Ki Krusher, but AJ interferes and turns on Jerry Lynn to cause a no contest after 14 minutes or so.
***1/2  On the way to a great match before the DQ. The turn was kind of executed in a flat way, with an enziguri on the ropes while it looked like Ki was going to win anyways? Anyways, Low Ki doesn't appreciate AJ's help and gives him a Buzzsaw Kick before leaving.
One of the Security Twins is backstage talking about a First Blood match against the New Church next week. We fade to black and get Disco and a shitty set for "Jive Talkin". You know what? This is defeating me. I don't have it in me to watch Jive Talking or fast forward to it. I'll come back to this and the stretcher match later. I could survive the Midget With A Gun moment, but Disco Inferno is a Bridge Too Far.
DESIRE
Part 7
Tumblr media
A sense of relief washed over Joe as he walked down the long hallway. He stopped by the elevators and produced his phone. Swallowing hard as he heard the ringtone.
“What’s up man?” Came Colby’s tired voice. He had obviously been sleeping.
“Sorry if I woke you man. Um, are you at the hotel?” Joe asked quietly.
“Yeah why? You OK?” he was already concerned. “Do you mind if I crash in your room tonight?” Joe already felt embarrassed asking that. He figured Colby would already know the reason why.
“Of course man, I’m in 220. Third floor.”
Joe made his way down to the third floor. He was so glad to see his friend.
“Sorry to bother you man. I just didn’t want to be alone.” He apologised.
Colby could already tell that Joe had been crying. It had been a long time since he had seen him like this. “What happened?” He said taking his bag off him and setting it aside. “Do you want a drink?”
“No I’m fine,” he was obviously troubled.
“Paul and I had a falling out. It was pretty bad.” Joe confessed. “I knew it. I knew he hadn”t changed,”
“I should have listened to you earlier…I’m just tired from the drama. Do you mind if we talk in the morning?” he asked wearily. “Of course man, anything you want.” He could always rely on Colby. Joe stripped down to his black boxers and crept into the bed. They had been used to sharing since the early Shield days but this was the first time in a while. “Get some sleep man,” Colby said lightly, turning off the lamp on his side. “Night.”
Joe woke to the sound of one of the nearby room doors closing. He always was a bit of a light sleeper. He eyed the clock. It had just gone 3am. Colby had somehow managed to slither himself closer to him, snuggled up on his right side, his right arm draped over his abdomen. Joe smiled to himself. He was like a child but he decided not to disturb him but it was too late. Mumbles escaped his parted lips.
“It’s only 3am,” Joe whispered. Colby shifted a little, allowing Joe some space although he still remained close to his side. Joe could see his eyes flutter open a little in the moonlight. Colby had a habit of going to sleep with the curtains open. He never liked it to be pitch dark. The younger man moved slowly, his hand trailing up Joe”s tattooed chest. He didn”t say anything, moving closer to Joe”s collarbone, placing soft kisses there, trailing up to his neck, burying his head in the Samoans hair, nuzzling at his skin.
Joe closed his eyes, taking in the sweet sensation of Colby being intimate with him. It was a welcome distraction. They had messed around a number of times before but it had been over a year since their last encounter. Usually when they shared a room, one thing would lead to another but Joe was not anticipating anything this time, on account that Colby knew that he and Paul were sleeping with each other but here he was.
“I missed this,” Colby said above a whisper. Joe flipped on his side, wrapping his left arm around Colby”s lean torso so they were lying on their sides facing each other. The younger man”s chocolate brown eyes shone in the moonlight, his handsome face bathed in the icy cold shade of blue. Joe leaned forward and kissed his friend gently, slowly, trailing his fingers along his light beard. Their bodies became entangled underneath the white sheets.
