AEW Rampage 3/20/24
The Gunns promo video on the Acclaimed. They are somewhere by a pool. Here comes Jay. Jay says he saved Darby's life by breaking his foot, and Darby can do anything he wants now, except climb Everest. Jay says just ask the Acclaimed and Daddy Ass, he is bigger than Everest. Darby will not triumph over him or breathe with the Switchblade.
The Acclaimed promo on the Gunns. Caster says even when they get hurt, they show up. He offers Jay White a ticket to anywhere he wants to go and says if he is smart, he will take that offer. But Jay is not that smart. He knows Jay is stupid, because only a stupid person would piss off the Acclaimed. Bowens says there was a video highlighting the history of the AEW tag titles, and the Gunns weren't good enough to be in it. Bowens says Jay should have listened to the internet and signed some place else. He went through Continental Classic and lost. He had a title shot and lost to MJF with one leg.

Wow, this rocked!!! What a great match!!!!! Orange and Trent had some great double team stuff here, and man, Fletcher and Hobbs make an awesome team. Rating: 3.75
Katsuyori Shibata vs. Kevin Matthews --Shibata with vicious elbows in the corner and a running dropkick!! Matthews gets a little bit in before Shibata locks in a sleeper and hits the PK for three!!!! Go off, Shibata!!! That is how you do a squash!!! Rating: AWESOME SQUASH
Konosuke Takeshita vs. Rocky Romero -- Strikes by Takeshita, but Rocky gets a big shot of his own in!! Rocky with clotheslines in the corner. Takeshita muscles Rocky up effortlessly onto his shoulders lands a neckbreaker!!! Takeshita with a huge elbow outside, then just absolutely lays Rocky out with another elbow inside, then lands a back suplex for two!!! Geez!!!! Rocky lands Sliced Bread off the top! That slaaaapped wtf!!!!!!!!! Takeshita is a machine, and Rocky looked great here. Just an awesome match. It was short, and you can say I am overrating it, but I do not caaaaare!!!!!! Rating: 4
Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale vs. Julia Hart and Skye Blue Street Fight -- Statlander with a drop toe hold, sending Julia face-first onto a chair, then lands a backbreaker by trapping Julia in the chair and slamming the chair down on the mat!!!! Willow dropkicks Julia as she is still trapped in the chair! Julia gets her spike and swings at Statlander, but Statlander moves and Julia hits Skye instead. Statlander has Julia on her back, runs, and drives her into a table in the corner! Willow with chair shots to Skye and lands a cannonball in the corner for two! Julia and Skye with chair shots to their opponents inside!! Statlander suplexes Julia onto the set up chair!! Damn!! Willow body slams Skye on the floor!! Geez!! Willow goes for something on top of the announce table, but Skye reverses and lands Code Blue on the table!! The table does not budge and it looks nasty!! Holy shit!!! Skye pours out a bag of tacks in the ring. Statlander comes in with a bag of her own and dumps out more tacks!!! Great moment, I popped for that!!! Statlander goes to the top, but Skye traps her head and lands a kick to the face with tacks in her boot!!!! Skye picks Statlander up off the middle rope and lands a powerbomb onto the tacks!!!! Skye pours tacks in Statlander's mouth and superkicks her in the face!!!! Willow is back up!!! Willow lands a DVD on Skye off the apron through two tables set up on the floor!!! Aaaahhh!!!! AEW Dynamite 3/20/24
Mercedes comes out first! She talks about how her career almost ended with an injury ten months ago, but she says she had to come back. She says she isn't here to lead a women's evolution. She's done that before. She's here to lead a global women's revolution. She calls out Julia and Skye and says they shouldn't get in her business with Willow. Julia and Skye come out to attack Mercedes, but Willow and Statlander make the save.
Marvez interviews the Bucks and Okada. He calls Okada by his full name. But the Bucks tell Marvez that he needs to show more respect by speaking to Okada in his native tongue. Matt talks about how handsome and charismatic Okada is. The Bucks say they will be the personal producers for Okada's match tonight. Okada addresses Eddie in Japanese. Where are the subtitles so we can hear this man's promo?? He says he is coming for Eddie's title!!!!!
Eddie Kingston (c) vs. Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship -- Eddie chops Okada until his chest is red! Okada runs away to the outside, and suckers Eddie in for a DDT on the floor!! Nice! Okada lands a neckbreaker and covers Eddie standing up with one foot for a one count. Love it. Okada with a nice sliding dropkick, then two vicious back elbows, then a running back elbow in the corner! Eddie lands some chops, a belly to belly suplex, a back heel trip, a German suplex, and a sliding elbow for two! Okada lands a neckbreaker on the knee for two!! Okada goes for an elbow off the top, but Eddie avoids it and lands the backfist for two! Eddie lands some chops and blocks a lariat attempt. Okada takes his thumbs to Eddie's eyes, ducks a backfist attempt by Eddie. Okada lands a Tombstone that looks more like a bodyslam, then a Rainmaker for three!!!!!
Nice!!!!!!!!! Very good match here with Okada looking great. I am so stoked for new champ Okada!!!! Rating: 3.5
Pac comes out after the match to stare at Okada from the ramp. HELL YEAH BROTHER!!!!!!!!! HYPED OUT OF MY MIND FOR OKADA VS. PAC!!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!!
Renee with Swerve. She asks what his intention was with Joe and the chain last week. Swerve says the intention is the same as always, the AEW World Championship. Joe attempted to embarrass him by choking him out a few weeks ago, but unfortunately for Joe, Swerve has a history of choking people out as well. He gestures to the chain. He says he feels like sparring and puts out an open challenge.
Statlander and Willow with Renee. They say their feud with Hart and Blue ends tonight. Mercedes arrives. Stat thanks her for having Willow's back. Mercedes says of course, that's what a CEO does. Willow starts to talk. Mercedes cuts her off and says she has done enough. Nice.
Hook vs. Chris Jericho -- Hook comes out of the gate with a nasty belly to back suplex, dropping Jericho on his head! The ref checks on Jericho. Jericho comes back with some elbows and chops, but Hook turns it back around with a series of German suplexes! German after German after German! Like 8 or 10 of them! Jericho finally blocks the German and reverses into a Walls attempt, but Hook stops him from locking it in. Jericho comes off the top, but Hook catches him with a Northern Lights suplex and a lariat!! Nice!! Jericho lands a boot and a lionsault for two. Jericho just throws Hook, and he lands on his face. Damn. Jericho lands a boot, then strikes in the corner, standing on second rope. Hook finally blocks and locks in Redrum! Jericho escapes with elbows and goes for the Walls, but Hook escapes with elbows of his own, then catches Jericho in an inside cradle for three!
This was okay. Some good offense from Hook, but a lot of awkward-looking stuff here as well, which should probably be attributed to Jericho. This is Hook's first pinfall victory in AEW. Jericho shows respect to Hook after the match. Rating: 2
Cole video promo. He says Wardlow disappointed him last week by losing to Joe. He says Wardlow's new goal is to make sure Taven and Bennett keep the ROH tag championship and Roddy keeps his AEW International Championship, and maybe then they will forgive him. Cole says this because he cares about Wardlow and wants him to reach his true potential. He tells Wardlow not to screw it up.
Renee with Jericho. Jericho says Hook has his respect after tonight. Hook is a future world champion. And Jericho has a proposition for Hook next week.
Schiavone in the ring with Ospreay. Ospreay says he was a naughty boy the last time he was in Toronto when he faced Omega at Forbidden Door. He apologizes for "what he done last time." He says he is here to bring the people of Canada elite wrestling, but in return, he needs some of that maple syrup. Lmao wtf. He says he is here for the betterment of AEW. Ospreay comments on how great Danielson vs. Shibata on Collision last week was. Ospreay says in one breath, Danielson said he is grateful to step in the ring with Ospreay, but in the next, Danielson said Ospreay couldn't walk in his shoes. Ospreay says he has seen Danielson's shoes and he could never fit in them, because they are too small for him. What Bryan did in Japan was good, but what Ospreay did in Japan was elevate pro wrestling. He mentions all the championships he held there. He says he can walk in Danielson's shoes. Want him to prove it? He calls out Shibata. He says the last time they wrestled each other, Shibata beat the piss out of him, and asks if Shibata wants to know the difference in a 23-year-old kid and 30-year-old with a family and a point to prove. He tells Shibata to meet him in the ring next week and tells Danielson to sit at home and watch. Another good promo from Ospreay. Can't believe it. He is on a roll.
Toni Storm and Mariah May vs. Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo -- Purrazzo with some nice armbar attempts, but she can't get it locked in on Mariah. Purrazzo hits Mariah with a huge boot. Rosa tags herself in and lands a DVD on Mariah. Storm tags in. Storm with a nice German suplex and hip attack on Rosa. Storm goes for Storm Zero, but Rosa reverses and catches Storm with a jacknife for three. Solid action here, but super short. Rating: 2.25
Swerve Strickland vs. The Butcher -- Swerve starts with a headbutt out of nowhere! Butcher with a backbreaker on the knee. Swerve lands a double stomp to the back of the neck!!! House Call kick!!! Double stomp off the top!! Then Swerve locks in an arm bar variation for the submission!! Rating: SQUASH
Swerve with a mic after the match. He says he respected and liked Joe before he met him. But now he is close to hating Joe. Every day, he thinks about wrapping that chain around Joe's neck, hanging him from the ring post, and squeezing. He will take out any security Joe sends until Joe gives him what he wants. Good stuff!!!!
Joe comes out!! He says he beat Swerve at Revolution and he shoved him back down the championship ladder. He says Swerve still believes the impossible is possible, that if he stands toe to toe with Joe, he can box with a god. The problem with that belief is that it becomes infectious, and these people start to believe that maybe they can be great and be a champion too. And that is fine and sweet until someone like Joe shows up, smashes you in the face, and takes everything that you have. Joe knows what to do with someone like Swerve and that is give him exactly what he wants. NICE!!!! GO AHEAD, JOE!!! Joe heads for the ring!!!!
Don Callis comes out to interrupt and is greeted by the loudest and most sustained chorus of boos I have ever heard. Taz: "This is his home country, and they hate his guts." Callis says Swerve and Takeshita have the same amount of wins, but Takeshita is undefeated outside of the Don Callis Family, and Takeshita needs to show Swerve what it tastes like to lose to the Family. This is not Swerve's house. It is the Don Callis Family's house.
Swerve says if he had more time and wasn't distracted with what he has going on, he would burn the Callis Family tree down to a crisp, but he will take on Takeshita.
Christian Cage (c) vs. Adam Copeland for the TNT Championship -- Copeland lands something of neckbreaker, driving Christian back-first onto a ladder he set up between the announce table and the barricade outside. Copeland sets up a ladder upside down and drives Christian ribs-first into the hinges with an inverted suplex!!! Copeland props up a table on the barricade outsidr and goes for a spear, but Christian leapfrogs him and throws him into the ring post. Copeland is bleeding from the head! Christian lands a frog splash off the top through a table on the outside! Christian sets up a ladder on the ropes in the corner and catapults Copeland face-first into the ladder. Christian misses a splash, and Copeland locks in a crossface with the arm trapped, but Christian gouges the eyes to escape! Both go for spears at the same time and both go down! Christian tries to leave, but Copeland follows after him, and catapults Christian off the stage!
Mother Wayne comes out and low blows Copeland with a hockey stick! Christian cracks the hockey stick over Copeland's back! Christian drives the hockey stick into Copeland's throat in the ring!! The ref asks, but Copeland doesn't quit. Christian goes for Conchairto with a barbed wire-covered chair, but Copeland avoids it. Copeland swings with a chair, but Christian moves. Christian goes for Killswitch onto a chair, but Copeland blocks it. Copeland locks in a kind of crossface hold with the hockey stick in Christian's mouth, then chokes Christian with the drawstring from his trunks!! Luchasaurus and Nick make the save and break the hold! Garcia and Menard come out to even the odds! They handcuff Nick and Luchasaurus to the corner turnbuckles, then ping pong Christian back and forth with strikes, then Copeland lands a nice spear on Christian!! They handcuff Christian to the other corner, and Copeland lands repeated low blows to Christian!!! Over and over and over kicks to the balls! The ref asks, but Christian doesn't quit! Copeland gets out the spike he made and spikes Christian in the balls!!!! Christian still refuses to quit!!! But Copeland threatens to do it again, and Christian quits!!!!
This was a really well-constructed match. All the weapon spots were good, the outside interference was well done, and the finish kinda rocked. Nice. Rating: 3.75

Katsuyori Shibata vs. Bryan Danielson -- LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!! They start on the mat, trading holds, quick transitions, and quick escapes. They trade some kicks. Danielson hyperextends Shibata's arm over his shoulder. Shibata responds with elbows and kicks. Danielson with a butterfly suplex into a arm bar attempt, but Shibata blocks and escapes, transitioning beautifully into a bow and arrow! Danielson escapes and locks in a bow and arrow of his own. Shibata escapes into a lateral press for two, then grabs a double wrist lock.
Danielson shoves Shibata!!! They trade shoves, then they trade chops!!! Danielson picks the ankle, takes Shibata down, and traps and stomps the arm again!! Shiabta lands a running dropkick!!

Shibata escapes and locks in an ankle lock again, then Danielson escapes and grabs an ankle lock of his own again. Danielson lands a leg-capture German suplex and goes for a rolling elbow, but Shibata catches him and plants him with an STO!!!!!!!! Nice!!!
They trade knees to the midsection. Shibata lands a quick DVD for two!!! Shibata with an elbow to the head! Shibata with a ripcord attempt, but Danielson reverses and lands the Busaiku knee!! Cover, but Shibata kicks out at two!!!!!!!! Danielson attempts the LeBell lock, then traps the other arm to prevent a rope break, but Shibata gets his foot on the rope.
Danielson lays in the round kicks!!!! Shibata sits down and asks for more!!! Shibata eats the kicks, then rolls through the last kick, rolling to his feet and landing a nasty pump kick to the face!!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!! Shibata with elbows to the face, Kawada kicks to the head, then DISGUSTING round kicks to the chest!!!!!! I am freaking out!!!! Eat your heart out Danielson!!!!! Danielson absorbs the kicks and asks for more!! Nice!!! They both sit down and face each other! They trade NASTY PALM STRIKES TO THE FACE AND NECK!!!!!!! Damn!!!!! They stand and continue to trade strikes!! Danielson finally gets the best of this with a round kick to the head!! Danielson goes for the Busaiku knee again, but Shibata avoids it and LANDS HIS SIGNATURE RIPCORD BITCH SLAP TO THE FACE!!!! I AM LOSING IT!!!
Shibata grabs a flying octopus hold and maneuvers Danielson to the mat. He tries to get Danielson's shoulders down but can't, and Danielson gets a foot on the rope to break. Shibata goes for a PK, but Danielson ducks it and rolls Shibata up for two! They trade beautiful pinning combos and near falls!!!! Shibata gets a jacknife for only a one count. Danielson escspes, grabs the arm, and transitions into the LeBell lock, but he can't lock it all the way in. Shibata gets Danielson's shoulders down for two, but Danielson reverses into a pinning combo of his own for three!!!!
THAT SLAPPED SO HARD!!!!!! I AM FREAKING OUT!! Beautiful submission wrestling that devolved into a strong style slug fest, with incredible back and forth throughout the match. Exactly my cup of tea in every way. Shibata is the GOAT!!!!!!! Rating: 4.5
Julia Hart (c) vs. Trish Adora for the TBS Championship -- Julia slams Trish's head into the steps a few times and throws her into the barricade outside. Trish lands a shoulder breaker onto her knee for two, then lands a nice German suplex from her knees into a bridge for two. Julia ultimately gets the pinfall with a moonsault off the top. This was kind of an awkward match. Rating: 2
Zak Knight and Harley Cameron with Lexy. Zak says he will give Angelo Parker a fight, but it won't be in Canada and it won't be on Angelo's terms.
Daniel Garcia vs. Lee Moriarty -- Moriary lands an aggressive topé, as Garcia is distracted by Shane Taylor outside. Moriarty lands a belly to belly suplex and holds onto the arm/hand for some joint manipulation. Garcia stomps a mud hole in Moriarty in the corner, then lands a nasty chop block to the knee and slams the leg back repeatedly into the mat! Garcia lands a belly to back suplex for two. Moriarty tries to run at Garcia in the corner, but his leg gives out. Moriarty lands a double stomp to the chest! Garcia catches his leg and viciously locks in a heel hook for the submission!!
A short match and a decisive win for Garcia, which I love to see. I know these two would have had a great match if they went longer, but what we got here was solid. Rating: 2.5
Pac vs. Aaron Solo -- Solo with a nice kick to the head and topé con giro to the outside to start. But it's all Pac from there with stomps in the corner, vicious kick combinations, a shotgun dropkick off the top, a running uppercut, a Black Arrow, then the Brutalizer for the submission victory.
Short and sweet!!! Nice return to the ring for Pac, who is looking as great as ever!! It is so good to have him back. Rating: 2
Pac grabs a mic. He says he is back, and he is looking for trouble, and this (Solo) is not exactly what he had in mind. He addresses Tony Khan, telling Tony to find him some trouble, or he will find it himself!!! Um, hell yeah!!!!!!!
Danielson promo. He says he is thankful he was able to wrestle Shibata tonight after they were both told they would never wrestle again. He is also thankful that he has a match with Ospreay at Dynasty. He mentions Ospreay's comment about watching Danielson when he was young and trying to emulate Danielson, as well as Ospreay's comment that he doesn't plan on dying in the ring with Danielson. Danielson says this tells him that Ospreay may have watched and tried to emulate him, but Ospreay can't walk in his shoes or Shibata's shoes. He and Shibata have been on death's door because of how much they love this. So Ospreay can say what he wants about what he is willing do to. Danielson knows what he is willing to do, and he doesn't think Ospreay is ready for that. Great stuff from Danielson here, coming off very real and genuine as usual.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Lance Archer -- They trade shoulder tackles and body slams early on. Archer lands a cannonball senton off the apron onto Claudio on the floor! That looked painful. Claudio with a nice springboard spinning uppercut off the ropes for two. Claudio gets Archer in the Swing, but The Righteous break it up for the DQ finish.
That was a decent match that was starting to pick up when it ended with a stupid DQ. What was the point of that finish? Rating: 2.75
Danielson comes out to help Claudio as he is being attacked by The Righteous and Archer. The Righteous take Danielson down. Shibata comes out to threaten them with a chair, and they back down.
Ruby and Angelo with Lexy backstage. Angelo says he was ready for a match against Zak tonight with his family in the crowd. And if Zak doesn't want a match tonight, he's going to get a fight, because Angelo is going to find him. Ruby says they are baiting Angelo in, and if he goes looking for a fight, he will have to do it without her. Angelo says she is right, and he will leave it alone for tonight.
Kyle O'Reilly vs. Bryan Keith -- O'Reilly with a nice running knee, then runs at Keith as he sits on the mat, stops short, and slaps him in the face! Beautiful. Abdominal stetch by Keith. Nice DDT by Keith for two. Keith with knees to the head. They trade round kicks outside. O'Reilly with a kitchen sink, then his beautiful kick/palm strike/knee/leg sweep combo, then a running forearm in the corner!! O'Reilly hyperextends the arm over his shoulder, then lands a back suplex into a knee bar, but Keith rolls to the ropes. O'Reilly locks in a guillotine, transitions into a triangle, then lets go and lands a vicious PK!!!! O'Reilly goes to the top, but Keith takes him down with a jumping headbutt! Keith with a big knee to the head for two! Keith with a double underhook into a powerbomb for two! O'Reilly lands his beautiful axe and smash combo, and I freak out!! Keith with an enziguri! They both go for kicks at the same time and both block repeatedly. O'Reilly lands the rebound lariat!!!! Nigel says on commentary, "That's mine." 🥺🥺🥺. O'Reilly lands a brainbuster for two, then locks in an armbar for an immediate submission!!! Nice!!!
Very good match here!!! O'Reilly did his thing as always, and looked so, so great. I could not be happier to have him back. I have missed him so much. Rating: 3.25
Roddy and the Kingdom come out to celebrate with O'Reilly after the match. Seeing O'Reilly back from a career-threatening injury after almost two years, seeing Roddy with that belt around his waist, and seeing those guys together.... My heart overflows. 😭😭😭
Lexy with Deonna and Thunder Rosa. They talk about teaming against Toni and Mariah next week. Deonna says they may have never teamed before, but they have fought each other before and she trusts Rosa. She says Toni tapped at Revolution, and if not for interference from the butler and Mariah, she would have the title. Rosa asks does she mean the title that Rosa never lost? Rosa says they have a mission next week against Toni and Mariah.
Buddy Matthews and Brody King vs. Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo (Wild Card Match to Qualify for the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament) -- HOB jump Dean and Bravo before the bell and dominate the early part of the match. Nice cannonball in the corner by King, then double teams by HOB. Dean tags in and eats it off the top, but gets right back up with a back suplex to Matthews. King comes in with a big lariat to Dean. Bravo comes in to help, but eats a nice knee from Matthews. HOB land Dante's Inferno on Dean, but Bravo breaks up the pin. Matthews with a nice jumping knee to Bravo on the apron, sending him into the arms of King on the outside, who just hurls him with a body slam onto the announce table!! Nice! King then lands a piledriver on Bravo on the announce table! Matthews curb stomps Dean's head in the ring and covers him. He is out, but Matthews pulls him up before three for more punishment. Matthews goes to the top, but here comes Mark Briscoe, who takes Matthews down with a chair to the head!! Dean covers Matthews for three!
Wow! Crazy stuff here with HOB dominating the match until getting screwed by Mark. Still shocked HOB lost, even with the interference. This was a solid match though, and it gets extra points for a genuinely surprising finish. Rating: 3
Copeland comes out with a big case and a mic. He says he won't call Christian "Jay" anymore. Jay is dead. He has become Christian Cage. He has bought it all, his ego is out of control. Copeland thought since they were friends before wrestling, they would be friends after. He says Christian was on board with him coming to AEW. He came to AEW to retire with Christian, not to take his spotlight that he has earned. He talks about earning his title shot, and having it taken away by being taken out with a conchairto from the Patriarchy. He says he got a phone call from Foley, who helped him remember who he is. He is someone who has dark caves in his head that Christian has never navigated. He introduces a weapon he has made, which he calls "spike." He says next Wednesday, Christian will be in the hospital. He and spike are going to take away Christian's pride, his ego, and his manhood. He will make Christian say two words that will cause Christian to never be able to look his daughters in the eyes again, "I quit."
Solid promo by Copeland here. The spike thing is a little corny for me though.

AEW Dynamite 3/13/24
Mercedes opens the show!!!!!!!! Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!! She is here!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!! This Boston crowd is going nuts. Love it. Mercedes thanks the fans. She thanks them for being there and supporting her through the last two years, as well as through her history making moments. She says we are going to make a lot of moments together in AEW. She is excited to face every single person in the locker room. She mentions Willow vs. Riho tonight and how she has unfinished business with Willow. But tonight is about Big Business, and Mercedes is all elite!
Joe promo on Wardlow. He hasn't forgotten what happened the last time they were in the ring together.
Cole video package. He is reading a story about Wardlow being enslaved by an evil man, a devil. Wardlow needed the brotherhood of others who hated the evil man, a brotherhood bound by undisputed hatred. Lmao. The story ends with Wardlow using his hate to fuel him to beat Joe for the world title tonight.
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Wardlow for the AEW World Championship -- Joe back with an elbow and enziguri in the corner. Wardlow lands a twisting senton off the top. Joe lands a nice powerslam. Wardlow fakes a knee injury and lands a knee to Joe's midsection for two. Wardlow misses a Swanton. Joe corners him with shots to the head. Wardlow responds a with powerbomb. Wardlow goes for another powerbomb, but Joe stops it with a double-leg takedown. Joe jumps on Wardlow's back with a Coquina Clutch. Wardlow goes out!
Good match with an obvious result. Rating: 3.25
Swerve comes out with a chain after the match looking angry, but Joe quickly leaves.
Backstage, Marvez asks Okada why he joined The Elite. Nick cuts him off and tells him to show more respect and use Okada's full name, the Rainmaker Kazuchika Okada. Matt says Okada joined The Elite, because they are the three best professional athletes and have been friends for 14 years. Okada says he is coming for Eddie, Pac, and Penta. Okada makes Marvez sing happy birthday to Matt. Lol.
Kazuchika Okada and The Young Bucks vs. Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Eddie Kingston -- Pac lands a beautiful tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Matt. Double dropkicks and double superkicks by Pac and Penta on Nick. Eddie with nasty chops to Okada. Okada lands a beautiful dropkick on Eddie. Triple teams by Okada and the Bucks on Eddie. Eddie tries to make a tag, but his partners have been taken out and Okada is in his corner instead with a wry smile. Beautiful!!!!!!! Exploder by Eddie on Matt. Nice belly to belly by Eddie on Matt. Penta tags in with a double cross body off the top and a double DDT to the Bucks. Penta goes for a backstabber on Okada, but Okada holds the ropes to block, but then Okada eats a superkick from Penta instead! Pac tags in with a springboard missile dropkick. Nick lands a low blow on Eddie! Rainmaker by Okada on Eddie for three!!!!!!!!
I loved that match. Fantastic action. Everyone looked great. Nice AEW in-ring debut for Okada. Rating: 3.5
Okada stands over Eddie with Eddie's Continental Title and a huge Eddie handprint on his chest. I am in love with heel Okada. Simply in love.
Ospreay comes out to the ring with Schiavone to talk about his upcoming match with Danielson. He says he has wanted to emulate Danielson his whole career. Everyone was talking about his match with Omega and the Tiger Driver '91. He says the most violent man on live TV asked him if it was worth it. He says, speaking as the man in the match with blood pissing out of his head and standing as the winner, he can say, yes, it was worth it. His match with Danielson is the best wrestler in world vs. the best wrestler of the 21st century, and only one walks out the winner. He can have respect for his opponent, but once they are in the ring, it's their life or his, and he doesn't plan on dying. This is about finding out who is best wrestler in world.
That was a shockingly good promo. I've been super hard on Ospreay in the promo department, as I usually find him goofy and second-hand embarrassing every time he opens his mouth. But this was perhaps the best promo I've ever heard him do.
Darby Allin vs. Jay White -- Darby with a shotgun dropkick into the corner, then a Swanton off the top to the outside!!! Darby with a cannonball suicide dive to the outside!!!! Jay lands a nasty butterfly suplex onto a chair outside!!! Oh my god!! Jay hurls Darby across the ring steps, and Darby flips over back-first onto the floor!! Geez!! Darby lands a springboard cross body for two! Darby goes to the top, but Jay sweeps out the legs, and Darby goes back-first onto the top turnbuckle! Jay with nasty chops to the back!!! Jay misses a Stinger splash. Darby lands a stunner, then a sunset flip for two! Darby grabs the Last Supper for another two! Jay catches Darby off a Coffin Splash attempt and turns it into a German suplex!! Jay lands a big uranage for two! Darby reverses a suplex attempt over the ropes into a Scorpion Death Drop and covers, but Jay gets a foot on the rope! Darby misses a Coffin Drop attempt off the top to the apron!!! Nasty landing on his back on the apron, oh my god!!!!! Darby makes it back in the ring at 9.5, but Jay immediately meets him with a Bladerunner for three!!!!
Hell yeah, that slapped!!!!!!! Jay was working the back beautifully, Darby was bumping like a psycho. Loved it. Rating: 4
Jay tries to take the bat to Darby's ankle with a chair wrapped around it after the match! The Acclaimed and Billy comes out to make the save. Jay lands a chair shot to Billy!!!!! Wow!!! The Gunns take their belts to the Acclaimed's heads. Jay then takes the bat to Darby's ankle with the chair wrapped around it as originally planned!!!! Dang!! Taz: "Bang Bang Scissor Gang, my ass."
Hook and Chris Jericho vs. Gates of Agony -- Hook and Jericho land double vertical suplexes. Jericho with a big boot and a lionsault. Hook tags in with some lariats, a T-bone suplex, and a nice bridging Northern Lights on Bishop for two. Hook lands a German suplex on Toa!! Wow! Bishop with double knees to Hook's midsection. The Gates go for something on Hook, but Hook reverses into Redrum on Bishop. Jericho throws Toa into the ring post outside. Jericho locks in the Liontamer on Bishop, while he is still the in Redrum. Jericho lands a springboard dropkick to Toa. Bishop taps to Redrum!
This was solid. Some impressive stuff from Hook. Rating: 2.75
Kyle interview backstage. He says now that he is back, he wonders if he can still hang in the most competitive roster in the history of this sport. He has his sights set on a guy who he thinks can bring out the old Kyle O'Reilly. That is Bryan Keith. They will wrestle on Collision. Roddy interrupts, and yells Kyyyyyyle!!! Lmao. Roddy says Kyle knows how much respect and love Roddy has for him, and if he wants to do this on his own, then he should do it on his own. He and Kyle hug. My heart. 🥺
Mercedes talks to and shows respect to Riho backstage before Riho's match.
Jericho and Hook backstage. Jericho says Hook has potential to be a future world champion and challenges him to a match next week. Hook says let's do it.
Riho vs. Willow Nightingale -- Willow blocks arm drag attempts by Riho. Willow with a big shoulder tackle and a running cross body for two. Riho lands a dropkick, then two running knees in the corner. Willow lands a huge missile dropkick off the middle rope!!! Willow lands some lariats and locks in a bear hug, then lands a beautiful vertical suplex for two! Riho with some elbows, then a head scissors takedown, then a 619, then a cross body off the top for two! Riho with a jumping knee! Willow goes for the Doctor Bomb, but Riho counters into a rana! Riho lands a Northern Lights suplex! Damn!! Riho misses a double stomp off the top!! Pounce by Willow sends Riho outside!!! Willow goes for a somersault senton off the apron, but Riho moves, and Willow lands hard on her back on the floor. Riho lands a double stomp off the apron! Riho lands a dragon suplex on the apron!!!! Holy shit!! Riho with a double stomp off the top for two!! Riho lands elbow strikes and a nice jumping knee, but Willow comes back with a huge lariat!!!! Riho runs at Willow, Willows ducks and reverses, Riho grabs a roll up into a jackknife for two! Willow lands a beautiful Doctor Bomb for the pinfall!!!!
That rocked!!! Oh my god!!!! More great Riho speed vs. a powerful opponent, and I love that! Some crazy, nasty spots here too. Rating: 3.75
The lights go out, and Julia and Skye appear to attack Willow after the match. Mercedes comes out to make the save with a nice Gory special into a facebuster on Julia! Willow raises Mercedes' hand! Nice!!!

AEW Dynamite 3/6/24
Hook (c) vs. Brian Cage for the FTW Championship -- Super fun match. Good spots with the barricade and the tacks. Hook with some impressive feats of strength, including t-bone suplex on Cage. Hook locks in Redrum, Cage falls back and drives Hook into the tacks, but Hook holds on and Cage taps! Rating: 3
Kyle O'Reilly is backstage with Renee!!! I could cry just looking at him!! He says he has nothing but love for the Undisputed Kingdom, but he thought he might never wrestle again, and now that he is back, he has to choose which path to take. Teaming with his friends would be the easy path, so he has to do this on his own now. Hype!!!
Schiavone introduces the Bucks. Schiavone mentions the ass-kicking they got at Revolution. Nick freaks out. They tell Schiavone to get the hell out of their ring. Matt announces that Hangman Page is suspended from the Elite without pay for putting his hands on two refs at Revolution. And Kenny, who hasn't made any of his dates lately for no apparent reason, is fired from the Elite. Lmao. Eddie Kingston comes out to shut them up. Then Okada's music hits!!! HE IS HERE!!!!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!! Okada lays Eddie out with a Rainmaker!!! WTF!!!!!!!!! The Bucks announce that Okada is the newest member of the Elite!!! Wow!!!!!!!! Didn't see that coming, but it has great potential, especially if Omega ever gets back. What a great segment and introduction for Okada.
Kris Statlander vs. Riho -- Really great match here. Loved the contrast of Stat's power and Riho's quickness. Rating: 3.5
Schiavone introduces Darby, who enters with the tag titles and without Sting for the first time in what feels like forever. I am emotional. Darby says that he said he would stop at nothing to make sure Sting got the retirement he deserved, and he feels like he did that. He says he was homeless five years ago, but last weekend he main evented one of AEW's biggest pay-per-view events with the Icon Sting. He says he is preparing to climb Mount Everest at the end of the month, and he may not come back alive, so just in case, he wants to thank the fans for making this dream of wrestling possible for him. He says he is relinquishing the tag titles, rather than finding a new partner, because he cannot replace the Icon. 🥺
Jay White comes out. He says Darby jumping off the ladder and going through the glass at Revolution was stupid. He left Sting to fight the Bucks in a two on one situation. Jay asks what is Darby without Sting? A little lost puppy with no one to hold his leash. Jay says he doesn't need to wrestle Darby next week, instead Darby can hang out with the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. They already have a nickname for him, Darby Scissorhands. Darby asks if Jay is done. He says Jay main evented the Tokyo Dome twice and won titles all over the world, but since coming AEW, he has done nothing but play with cardboard cut-outs. Darby doesn't believe the hype. Darby will see Jay at Big Business, and if Jay is as good as he says, he will come alone. Nice segment here!!
Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher -- Fantastic back and forth here with lots of nearfalls between two guys who know each other very well. Ospreay finally gets the pinfall with an avalanche poison rana and a Hidden Blade!! Awesome match. Rating: 4
Danielson's music hits, and he comes out to stand with Ospreay in the ring. He is smiling!!!! Hype!!!!

The birth of a shitty little champ from Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Black Cole Sun, 12/12/2014
[Probably my fave PWG event I've done on my rewatch with Bee and Mobi so far. Roddy is such a piece of shit LOL. Also props to KOR for doing two 20+ minute matches in a row, like damn.]
