finally tried hydrocodone for my back pain and THIS is the ~big scary opioids~ they've been talking about?! i know they're still ykno, serious medication but. i. feel. fine! i even took my other medication todayy!? i'd be angry but im honestly just. WHAT. i'm not in pain! yall coulda gave me this YEARS ago but you just didnt! i shouldnt have had to have figured this out all on my own especially with how it coulda easily gone sideways if i didnt have some awareness of what im doing?? fuckkk the war on drugs man. fuck it. shit.

edit: to be clear no i am not prescribed this i found some in the house it aint mine

#9 to 5 #came in on a Saturday #am getting no support on what I'm doing #just getting told stuff #and shouted at #had to practically beg for a 5 minute break the other day #got pushed to go up the tallescope again and again even tho it was sweltering heat and i needed to stop and get a drink #my teacher ignored safety regulations when i was rigging lights by pulling the pully system too fast with the light on it #which made the rope swing out of control and catch my fingers in the mechanism #he then blamed me #he also had a go at my friends for not getting the work done quick enough when its a two man job we'd paired up to do...#and i had passed out aftee cutting myself and bleeding everywhere for a good 20 minutes without him noticing #the first aid kit took ages to get to me as well as all the rooms were locked cause it was a Saturday #and my parents keep telling me not to have a go and get myself in trouble when hes supposed to be our stage manager and isnt doing anything!#im not even on this damn show cause I'm doing my own in my spare time on top of this right now. which he knows

you know, i wish as a fanfiction community, people would start to figure out ways to not depend on ao3 to post their fics and find a community on there. but you know what? that won't happen so easily, knowing the fanfiction community very well. ao3 as a platform actively fuels the fandom and fanfiction cultures' bad habits, racism, and other harmful beliefs that will continue to blind them.

due to the mark ao3 has made on the community, it has now driven people to thrive even more on the "like" systems, which are "kudos" on ao3. and a lot of fanfiction writers are driven determine their worth (as a writer) by the amount of attention they get, and bigger platforms are likely to give them more attention. a lot of fanfiction writers will stay on ao3 even if there were methods to share and/or post your fanfiction, if these methods don't have a "like" system and/or they're not that popular. and even more so if these methods ALSO don't include a comment section.

let's be real. although fanfiction platforms could have rules that go against some of the harmful beliefs that are deep into fanfiction culture (against racial harrassment, racist/race fetish fics, etc.), fanfiction platforms will be way more better if fandom and fanfiction culture (though especially fandom culture as fanfiction culture roots from fandom culture) changes ITSELF. it desperately needs to improve, not only for the sake of not continuing to blind people, but to also make poc people feel SAFE.

#better yet there could be more spaces/sites for fanfiction writers that dont tolerate racist content but you see how #people who point out the harm of racist content are treated?#im sure people wanting to be on ao3 is slightly deeper than kudos but surely since many people say they dont care about kudos...#they can manage using methods to share and post their content that dont involve a ''like'' system...?#fanfic writers desperately need to stop being in denial about them thriving on attention and need to look at their need for #community in deeper lenses. see the deeper affects that their need will have on other people's safety #wanting attention and gaining a community (both things connect) wouldn't be too much of a problem if their wants #wasn't ANOTHER motivator to support & defend ao3 and/or not point out ao3/otw's flaws #for things to CHANGE the whole fanfiction community and especially the fandom community will have to change itself #anti ao3 #ao3 critical #fandom critical #sunny's thoughts

im going to lose my fucking mind. i think a customer hit the big red button that says EMERGANCY SHUT OFF for our gas station, twice, in the last 3 minutes of my break. because they thought it was a call help button i guess??????? and thus caused the ENTIRE SYSTEM TO GO DOWN. AGAIN. IN THE LAST FEW MINUTES OF MY BREAK.

listen, i know it's just fanfics. but I keep reading this in fan works and worry that some might actually think it's safe to drink water from questionable sources.

Should you ever be in an outdoor situation where you don't have your usual water access - don't drink water from whatever-seems-fine-source. It can make you really sick. Please rely on locally approved sources of water or filter / test yourself before slurping down liquid cholera.

#maybe it’s just the Grew Up Poor in me but like #your kid shouldn’t have their own computer until they need one for school. The Family Computer out in the Common Area is perfectly fine.#your kid shouldn’t have their own gaming system/tablet/smartphone until they can get a job and pay for it themselves.#sharing the Family Console/Devices promotes time management/limitation and sharing and internet safety/security on public #’networks’ (in this case… public DEVICES but… same core concept)#and a text/call only phone is all they really need and is MUCH cheaper especially given the average dexterity situational awareness and #responsibility level of a kid #and if you’ve done your job right they shouldn’t feel uncomfortable looking up anything they need to/are worried about on a shared device #since you should’ve been establishing honest and open and trusting communication from the beginning #but hey shit happens and if you weren’t able to lay that foundation that’s fine that’s what LIBRARY TIME is for #I’m serious start a routine take your kid to the library at least once a week and give them free reign I mean FREE reign #(as long as their behavior is appropriate)#and they can have some time to access whatever info they’re not comfortable asking you about

You ever see something that causes you psychic damage?

They're talking about getting their kid tested for ADHD because the school recommended it and instead getting their kid identified as gifted and put on an accelerated track.

I love to be the bearer of news here for ya because accelerated learning tracks are GREAT accomodations for people with ADHD.

Turns out he was just bored? Respectfully, do you understand what ADHD is and how it works? Of course he's bored he has ADHD.

The "gifted" program's gift is actually just late diagnosis once your kid leaves the academic world and discovers that they have received zero actual skills, habits, or support to help them be successful as an adult.

I think the really fucking tragic part is that most of the time late diagnosis happens AFTER the new adult has crashed and burned trying to establish themselves after they leave the nest. Oftentimes going in for help for depression and coming out with an ADHD diagnosis because it turns out their depression is comorbid.

Tl;dr: Without knowing you have a disability, it is impossible to accommodate your disability so that you can still fucking function and learn how to flourish as yourself. End fucking stop.

#gifted program?#yeah right worst gift ever #all late diagnosis ADHDers deserve a shirt that says #i got put into the gifted program and all i got was massive trauma and an inferiority complex #my only coping skill to completing tasks is to put myself into a state of desperate panic #and rush through whatever it is at the last minute which leaves mr chronically 12 hours from total failure #and now i cant manage my life because instead of being taught how to exist with a disability #i was taught that i should be performing at everything at a higher level than every single abled person i know #and if im not it's not because i have a literal actual disability but because im lazy and refuse to put quote mind over matter end quote #and now that i have crashed and burned because of these obviously terrible strategies i have no safety net to catch me #as i navigate through this new world of trying to figure out how to flourish as myself #and not the cookie cutter shape i sliced myself open to fit inside to please the authority figures in my life #and all i got was this fucking tshirt that lives at the bottom of this laundry pile i can never put away #because i havent figured out an effective laundry system for myself yet #the shirt only comes in double XL or larger because the text won't fit on smaller sizes #hello adhdarkness my old friend #adhd problems
