Marathon training has officially begun! 🏃‍♀️☀️

I’m still a bit sick - this cold is seriously lingering. But I decided to do a long run anyways because I’m dying to start moving again.

Ran 15k this morning with a friend who is training for the same marathon. Other than my run club, I’m usually a solo runner, so this is a bit different for me. That being said, I’m really happy to have someone to run with on the long runs. It’s so much more enjoyable to have someone to chat to.

First run in a few months and it was hindered by 1). Being out of shape, 2). Being over 80 degrees at 9 in the morning when I decided to run (whyyyyyy weather?!?), and 3). Suffering a high blood sugar and minor what felt like a heat stroke mid-run. BUT on the upswing, I’ve apparently lost 9 lbs since I decided to start this Healthy Thing again. Is it summer yet? Today’s 10k wasn’t too cold, but there was sooo much snow on the ground so it was pretty slow. Can’t wait for all this crap to melt ❄️

I have one more week to upload my virtual 5K for The Sixth Annual True Bruin 5K Run/Walk. The run this morning may be the file I upload, I will wait and see what I do next weekend. Sorry for the lack of pictures, I was busy running. This portion of the PCT is one I have done many times before, San Fransquito Canyon to Grass Mountain Fire Road and back. When I ran this section a few weeks ago there was water running in the little "creeklets" and very few foot prints. This morning no more water flowing, but lots of foot prints. The weather has warmed up and the PCT through hikers are on their way NoBo.
