Backstory
Born into a strict pure-blood family, Ode was raised to be a perfect, obedient girl. Her temper and wits, however, were not to be easily controlled. From a young age, she started questioning her family's values and behaviour, often getting scolded for her 'too lenient' yet 'rebellious' nature.
This, especially, showed when her best friend, Kit, was announced to lack magical abilities. Despite her parents believing it to be shameful and forbidding her from any contact with him, the two kids would sneak out to meet each other regardless. Merlin forbid, she would not abandon her best friend.
The disdain for her family grew bigger with each year that passed yet she still tried to keep up the facade in social situations. Desperate to get away and seek independence, she applied for a job at the Daily Prophet after graduating from Hogwarts and quickly found her calling in investigative journalism. She'd occasionally dabble in activism for squib and women's rights, sometimes, even getting in trouble because of it. Luckily, her childhood 'friend', Melv would always bail her out. To her surprise, they sometimes found themselves working together, even landing them on the front page of the newspapers once.
At the age of twenty, she decided to move to London—mainly to put a good amount of distance between her and her parents. Little did she know she'd run into her childhood friend Kit there after years of scarce contact. Despite her wrath about him not writing as often as she would've liked, they quickly rekindled their relationship and got married a few months after – twins soon followed.

Personality: Ode is energetic yet mild-mannered. She has strong believes and is quick to speak her mind and stick up for others – and often gets in trouble because of it. Despite her fiery temperament, Ode values kindness and integrity above anything else and certainly knows how to charm people. When her curiosity takes over, she often finds herself in precarious situations, yet she usually finds a way out of it, with or without the help of others.
Ode is incredibly confident, courageous and touchingly earnest yet not afraid of vulnerability. Although her conviction is strong enough to help her bounce back from setbacks and criticism, it’s impossible for her to hide her pain, bewilderment and disappointment. Little did she know that Kit's heart belonged to someone else and would soon die a tragic death.
Melvyn 'Melv' Enfield @potionboy3 - Melv is Kit's older brother and has been in love with Ode since their childhood. Unfortunately, she only seemed to have eyes for his younger brother. Despite their differences and frequent arguing, they made a good team. And, for some reason, Melv was always there when she needed him. Even if she hated to admit it, she was glad he was around.
The two got closer after Kit's death as Melv offered her support when she most needed it and it quickly resulted in growing feelings and happy marriage.

So, I'm currently deciding between this roleplay and a similar style rp which has just arisen and I'm wanting to know which one I should apply for over the other. What are your future expectations for the group and how do you intend for all characters to fit in? I've been in town roleplays in the past and I've unfortunately seen many cliques surface and female characters being tossed aside. Thanks for your time.
we have our muse options page, which has pre-built connections to get people into the plotting spirit, and we have plenty of wanted connections from members! we don't require people to pick from those lists, but they can get the ball rolling. this weekend we have an event coming, which we admins are super excited for. our goal is to keep the tone 'dramedy', very gilmore girls, gossip girl, good witch, where intense things can happen but we really want to focus on connections and not get too deep into the dark parts of life.
i'm sorry you've had bad experiences with town rps and your character hasn't been treated right. i really believe our members are so kind and so willing to plot and talk to people. we're a very relaxed bunch. ultimately, the advice we always give whether it's people asking for advice picking between muses, or fcs, or connections, go with what inspires you! whether you've read through the connections of our rp or the other one you've found, you should join the group that makes you feel most excited for your character.

Ah, I heard that High Table is being replaced and that John is heading off the change, fuck yeah, man. Just to make it easier on people, figured I’d say a little about myself
My name is Georgia, Georgiana, or Gigi, either of the three works. Some call me “Alice” in reference to “Alice and Wonderland”, some further have called me “John’s Alice” or “Alice Wick”, because some have claimed mine and John’s relationship has mimicked aspects of Alice and the Mad Hatter. I personally am not sure if that’s accurate, but to each his own. I currently reside near the Atchafalaya in Louisiana, but was raised in New York and parts of Arkansas and Tennessee.
Winston Scott is my legal caretaker and only remaining blood relative, to my knowledge. I call Charon “Mama” because he is the closest thing to a mother I can ever remember having. Kinda gave both of them a heart attack, and then John, when I decided to sneak into the Navy in hopes of following John into his service in the Marines. Good news is, got high marksmanship scores and became a corpsman and ended up in John’s squad later on. Bad news, am now physically disabled and require a cane and a rolly chair/stool when working the New York Continental’s bar. Got nerve damage from chemical exposure and got discharged a little after John did.
Vincent and I, well, we haven’t tried to murder each other but are…I don’t quite know what to call our situation. We put up with each other, sometimes enjoyably, but I can’t tell if he puts up with me to have someone to gossip about or if he considers me similarly as Chidi, who I am admittedly fond of. He is a BIG dude, though the Chilean has his soft moments. The Parisian and the Chilean DO both give wonderful hugs, do with that what you will.

Hey, so I made this character because I wanted to make another attempt at a non-Pokemon related sideblog. Part of her backstory is really more a combination of “she got lucky” plus good instincts and Winston pulling some strings for her.
Quick rules: no nsfw, but suggestive is fine. Doesn’t speak “proper French” but occasionally throws in some Cajun/Creole French or random Spanish when she genuinely can’t think of the insult or descriptor in English. Has definitely referred to Vincent as a “Parisian Couyan” behind his back once or twice.
She’s also based on a personal fanfic I created and ended up deleting. I haven’t decided her entire vibe with Vincent and Chidi, maybe being the annoying puppy friend that they keep around because her family has connections but any Vincent or Chidi rp on here can decide further about if they actually like Georgia or not, but basically, if you’re a John Wick rp blog, she will likely be very much an “Alice”-like character. My recent exposure to the story is Tim Burton, but I remember the disney and shortened versions of the story well enough to have some wiggle room.
Description: 5’7”, 210lbs, dark blonde hair with dyed streaks of red and sometimes shaves part of her head and dyes it. Eyes are brown, often does unnatural makeup to look almost fae-like, mildly or otherwise. Oh, and she randomly offers people food

alright, i'm just going to share some things, because right? it seems like there's a lot of pointing fingers. in the end, i'm not defending anyone per se? but i also don't want to see people pointing fingers without reason.
first of all, vent / gossip blogs exists because we allow it to. if no one would be sending in anonymous confessions, they wouldn't exist. the admins are simply allowing it to happen, to cultivate a space for everyone to share their thoughts, vents and opinions. but in the end, they exist because YOU allow it to exist. if you don't like it? stop sending your anons.
second of all, i do believe that hqrise is partially at fault. someone vented at a vent / gossip blog anonymously. hqrise got a whif of it and started a witch hunt (or not?) about the anon in question. hqrise decided to involve the gossip blog and eventually blame the vent blog as being the cause of the rp group to shut down. let's say the hqrise didn't know about the vent blog = would that mean the toxic culture could live on in the unknown? possibly. but in the end, it's the admins of the rp group that decided to involve the gossip blog in the whole fallout. and of course the vent blog is not going to directly expose who sent it?? that would go against everything the blog stands for.
so quit your drama! the amount of hate and pointing fingers is unnecessary and just a poor sign of management from the admins side. whoopsies, maybe i am defending sincerely admins on this one. but please take everything with a grain of salt, eat some grass, drink some water and distance yourself if you are not able to take a healthy distance to the krp and the drama involves in particular. in the end, this vent blog exists because we send in anons. if everyone ignored it? nothing would be posted. if it wasn't needed, no one would come here, so, since someone is sending in anons? it's definitely needed. and that's a fact.

hello! asking for an interest check for an 18+ discord roleplay centered around a fictional university. the issue we’re coming up with is whether to make it supernatural or not! the university would be fictional, mainly for the rich / ivy league with small amounts of scholarship students, secret societies, secret gossip, have skeletons for people, and a bunch of other things! however, would people prefer it to be a regular uni-sol au, or have it be supernatural with vampires, werewolves, fairies, witches, etc, with schools like wizard 101 like the school of earth, wind, fire, water, death, and life? please let us know as we are stuck!
