Okay, the reason someone thought I was disrespecting AAVE seems to be that they thought I personally made up the term “wokists” on the spot to ridicule how conservatives talk, but no, that wasn’t hyperbolic exaggeration. Fox news started calling liberalism “wokism” at some point last year and now “wokist” is the right’s new catchall for basically all decent people.

There are almost no results for it here on tumblr so I see why people would have no idea this is a problem if they reasonably avoid the other big websites, but it’s all day long on them. "Woke” was AAVE beginning in the 60′s specifically to refer to awareness of white supremacy. Now magas, terffs, climate deniers, anti vaxxers and faux liberals are using “wokist” and “wokism” as a derogatory term for everything they think is too socialist or too tolerant.

Alright. My mom is actually taking me seriously. Please share with me anything and everything about how shit jkr is (specifically with regards to trans women) and how she's fucked trans rights in the UK, the whole her paying lobbyists, saying she takes every royalty check as direct support for her terfy ways, that she puts them towards her terfy ways, etc.?

The funniest thing about JK Rowling writing a Polish female character and portraying her as a walking and breathing stereotype of Slavic women is that it's the same woman who:

was already heavily criticized for doing the same thing to other characters in her books, especially to Asian women, and apparently all it taught her is to DOUBLE DOWN on her xenophobic, uneducated and offensive portrayals of female characters

she really thinks she's some kind of feminist icon who protects women (and, to a lesser extent, gay people) from trans people while happily publishing content that reeks of misogyny
