Not only is its worldbuilding fascinating, it also doesn't bash 2012 or Rise and genuinely explores their dynamics as siblings, which I really appreciate. "He never understood before, how snakes’ hisses could scare people or even spook other animals, but the noise the mutant lets out sends his heart racing. It’s not quick, it’s dragged out like a dog’s growl— a warning, a threat, a promise— it’s all of those things wrapped into one long low sound as its shoulders raise, body contorting in a way that pull its lips from its teeth, sharp fangs flashing in the moonlight like the axe of an executioner. . He can’t breathe when the metallic mass on its back seems to split open, spider like limbs reaching out, mechanical whirs and piston movement only adding to the auditory threat the hiss promises. The extra limbs seem to stretch, posing like a distorted multi-limbed deity, all turned towards Casey with one clear purpose.

tw: light gore + animal death under the cut

little thing i did for fun. i remember it either being implied in the fic or reading it in an ask or the comments on ao3 about Leo being the first to really gain sentience/human intelligence out of all the brothers + finding food for the gang when they were little. anyways i was thinking about that and this scenario got stuck in my head for the past few days + would not leave so i drew it.

(this also incorporates my personal hc that the old lair wasn't the first place they settled + spent the first couple years bouncing around trying to find a suitable home. that's why they're in a warehouse)

Alright, So this was done as a fanart of Rotten Reflections by Nicoforlife that is extremely indulgent. It's also got a lot of firsts in it for me

First fanart of ROTTMNT

First time drawing dynamic poses

First time drawing foreshortening

First time drawing scarred characters

First time successfully drawing muscular characters (I've tried to draw buff might before but I had to abort because holy shit I've been scarred for life)

First time drawing anything fluffy.

So this piece means a lot to me.

The context is pretty much me toying with the idea of the four 2018 turtles being reunited, as well as Casey Jones II, who we all know is Future!Leo's protege. So I thought, turtle pile. Just throw them all into one big pile of turtles + boy. I can imagine 2012 Leo finding them and just watching them until 2012 Donnie comes over and they both leave to give the group some privacy.

Coming from someone who hasn’t actually watched the rise series or movie, having only seen edits and fanfiction, I hope I’ve done them justice. I’ve only really watched 2012 and even then it was only up until the Triceratons.

Risotto:

"I wish he had gotten his backstory animated as a bonus because I feel like it would have added so much to his arc and character to make it explicit. As ruthless as he can be once he makes up his mind, I like him more for those little flecks of humanity shining through."

"He is a good boy and I wish we got to spend more time with him because it is so cool to me that one of his Stand's quirks mirror's the protagonist (damage reflection). Like, this is meaningful to me and I deeply respect his potential."

"I know this was wishful thinking but damn, I wish you were voiced by Yoshino Hiroyuki. Your Stand is amazing though!"

"He was really great to watch and I was so sad he died because he was yet another minor antagonist showing amazing integrity and spirit and I love his Stand aesthetic and I'm so glad he gets amazing fanart of it, he is extremely valid."

Melone:

"He's a walking talking aesthetic. A computer Stand, too... oh fuck, oh god no."

"Still mad about some choices made by Araki and DavePro, because I have since embraced him as such an interesting character with oodles of potential and great to meme. He deserved better than what he got, as did his fans."
