Mini Fanfic #1183: The Ex King and The Glamorous Succubus (Super Smash Bros Ultimate X Darkstalkers)

9:34 a.m. at the Smash Town.......

Cloud: (Yawns a Bit While Driving a Silver Segway on the Sidewalk) Okay, It's not nearly fast as Fenrir back home, but I don't mind it honestly. This is nice. (Turns to his Passanger Behind Him) You enjoying the ride back there, Tif?

Tifa: (Playful Salutes to Cloud While Holding onto Him From Behind) Indeed I am, Captain Handsome!~

Cloud: ('Groans a Bit') You mind not calling me that throughout this trip?

Tifa: (Starts Pouting) And why not? You are the captain of this joyride, you know? (Leans Over to Close With a Very Seductive Smirk on her Face) And a very dashing looking one at that~ (Gives Cloud a Kiss on the Cheek)

Cloud: (Gently Boops at Tifa's Nose) Hey-ey-ey, hey, no cute, loving affections until this ride is over. (Turns Back to the Sidewalk Road) You'll distract the driver if you keep doing that.

Tifa: ('Sighs in Defeat') Fiiiine, I'll put it on hold for now. (Playfully Pokes on Cloud's Cheek) Just know that you now owe me a lot of kisses after this, mister.

Cloud: (Playfully Rolls his Eyes a Bit) Don't worry. I won't forget.

Tifa: Better not. Though, I gotta ask: What made you wanna take drive us around on your segway in the first place?

Cliud: (Simply Shrugs) I never got the chance to test drive this thing since De gave it to me for Christmas back at New Donk City months ago, so I figured now would be an opportunity to do. Also, I....(Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth While Blushing) Brought you here with me cause.....I want or whatever.

Tifa: (Smirks Again) And because you love me?~

Cloud: ('Sighs in Defeat') And because I love you......

?????: Cloud! Tifa!

Cloud stops driving his segway as he and Tifa both look up to see the Former King of Dreamland, Dedede, calling for them while pushing his custom Wheelie Cycle in front of them.

Dedede: What y'all doing out here?

Tifa: (Smiles Brightly at Dedede) Morning, De!~ Cloud was taking me on a morning joyride~

Dedede: (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion) On a segway??

Cloud: Yep. Figured I finally take it for a spin for the day. Liking it so far by the way.

Dedede: (Smiles Brightly) Heh-Hey, my man! That's good to hear! I'm glad y'all having better luck out here than I am right now, that's for sure.

Cloud: (Raises an Eyebrow in a Bit of Confusion) Why you say that?

Tifa: (Starts Getting A Tad Bit Concerned) Did your Wheelie broke down or something?

Dedede: ('Sighs Heavily') Yeah, it did......And right at in the MIDDLE of the damn road too! I was....(Points Cloud and Tifa Forward) Alllllllll the way over there when it first happened, had to run for my life the moment I saw traffic coming in from all sides. Now look at me: my feet is aching, I'm all sweaty and tired....(Starts Hearing his Stomach Growling) And now I'm hungry. Right on cue too.

Cloud: Not for long. (Points Dedede to a Breakfast Dine-In in Front of the Three of Them)

Dedede: ('Sighs in Pure Relief') Oh thank you Lady Palutena, I don't have to search all around town.....(Grabs his Chin While Thinking) But do I have enough money for it though?

Tifa: Mind if we tag along and pay it with you?

Cloud: (Turns Back to Tifa) You wanna eat already?

Tifa: (Turns to Cloud) I feel like now would be the perfect to do so, you know? Plus, I'm pretty sure you need to eat the most considering all the driving you did.

Cloud: (Crosses his Arms) Pass. I don't get hungry as easily as you two- (Eyes Widened as He Suddenly Hears his Stomach Growling Very Loudly)

Tifa: (Giggles Softly)

Dedede: (Raises an Eyebrow While Smirking) You were sayin'?

Cloud: (Sighs While Facepalming Himself) Let's just go in the damn dine-in already......

Minutes Later at the Breakfast Dine-In.......

Dedede: Man...(Starts Eating his Food While Speaking) I dunno what y'all are about. ('Mm.') I can look after myself just fine!

Cloud: (Already Has a Deadpinned Look on his Face While Sitting Next to Tifa in their Table) Quit talking with your mouthful, De.....

Tifa: (Already Has. Worried Yet Firm Glare on her Face) We know you can take of yourself, your majesty. Truly. But you can't be too careless around that Morrigan chick. Not even for a millisecond!

Dedede: Okay, now you're being little dramatic. (Finally Swallows the Food He Was Eating) Y'all seem to like her little sister just fine.

Cloud: That's because we got to know her more in person as more time passes. We barely met the woman and the only thing we know about so far is that she uses her charms to take advantage of any new prey she encounters.

?????: Ohhh my!~ (Giggles Softly)

Cloud: ('Sigh') And speaking of which.......

The trio turn their attention towards a waitress with long, teal hair walking towards their table while swaying her hips from side to side.

??????: Are those three familiar faces I see before me?~ (Smirks Very Seductively at Dedede in Particular) And a very handsome former king happens to be one of them?~

Dedede: (Immediately Recognizes the Woman in Front of Him) Morrigan! (Clears his Throat Before Taking Off his Helmet and Flips his Hair Around Before Smirking Back at the Succubus) 'Sup, baby. Didn't know you were working here.

Morrigan: Yes, it's one of my many part-time jobs I've been taking as of late. The trips to runway shows aren't exactly cheap, you know? What brings you here in this fine establishment?~

Dedede: Oh you know? Just having breakfast with pals, chattin', thinking about you- (Immediately Corrects Himself) I-I-I mean! Thinking about how.....good you look in that.....waitress dress of....yours? (Forms an Awkward Grin on his Face)

Cloud: Smooth.

Morrigan: (Giggles Some More) Ohohohoho my!~ You are such a sweethearted man, dear~ I thought about you as well.

Dedede: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise) about have?

Cloud/Tifa: (Equally as Surprised as Dedede) You have?

Morrigan: (Happily Nodded) That's right~ I had a nice time talking to you at the mall on that night. It was such a shame that it was cut so short at the time.

Dedede: (Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) Yeah, sorry about that. Had to continue lookin' out for the family and whatnot.

Morrigan: That's quite alright, dear. Family is most important in the globe after all. (Starts Writing Something Down on her Pad) Though, I do hope we could make up for loss times one of these days. (Rip a Paper Out and Give it To Dedede)

Dedede: (Looks Down at the Paper in Front of Him) Wait a second......(Eyes Widened at the Realization) You're giving me your phone number!?

Tifa: ('Gasps')

Cloud: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Shock) Holy shit.

Morrigan: (Giggles Some More) Goodness!~ Is it really that surprising that I'm giving you my number?~

Dedede: Considering my long, embarrassing history in the dating scene, I'mma hafta say so, woman!

Morrigan: (Giggles Yet Again) Well, surprise!~ I want to know more about you, your majesty-

From the Back: OI! WAITRESS! FOOD'S READY TO BE SERVED!!!

Morrigan: ('Sigh') Atlas....It seems our lovely chit-chat will have to be cut short. Again.

Dedede: You want me to write my number to you just in case?

Morrigan: No need. I'm already wasting enough time as it is. (Smiles Softly) But please, do text me once my shaft is over in the afternoon. I'll be sure to give you my much needed attention soon enough~ (Makes a Kiss Sound Before Leaving and Waving Goodbye to Dedede) Cio, for now, Former King Dedede~ Ohohohohohoho!~

Dedede looks back at the paper: the very first time he has ever received a phone number from a very pretty lady, since......forever. The offer was so amazing that it causes him to form a big Grin on his face and start laughing wholeheartedly until....

'A-HEM'

The former king turns to see the couple in front of him. One his pouting at him and the other still has a deadpinned look on his face.

Dedede: Y'all still worried about me, aren't ya?

Cloud: I'm more surprised if anything. And slightly proud of you, actually- (Felt Tifa's Bumping His) But yeah. We're still worried.

Tifa: (Simply Nodded) Mmhmm.

Dedede: (Sighs Before Placing his Hand on his Chest While Raising the Other One Up) Look, I promise and swear that I'll be cautious around her going forward

Tifa: (Pulls Out her Pinky) Pinky Promise?

Dedede: Girl, I don't have a pinky. (Takes Off his Glove, Revealing his Fingerless Hand) See?

Tifa: Oh. Right. Well.....We'll just form a promise hug and it could NEVER be broken. Ever. Cloud, get in on this too. This is group effort.

Cloud: ('Sighs in Defeat') Fiiine......Bring it in. (Gets Pulled into a Group Hug Before Noticing Something Outside) Uhh....De. Don't panic, but......It looks like your Wheelie is getting towed away.

Dedede: WHAT!?

Dedede immediately got up from his seat and rushes himself out the door with Cloud abd Tifa following behind.

'Door Opens'

Dedede: NOOOOO! (Got Down on his Knees and Watches in Despair as his One and Only Wheelie is Being Towed Away) I was going to fix it all over again too damnit!! Now, how else am I gonna get home!?

Tifa: Welllllllll

Eventually..............

Cloud: (Sighs While Driving the Segway Very Slowly Now that Dedede is Riding on Tifa's Shoulders) Not the outcome I was expecting, but whatever.

Dedede: (Looks Down at Tifa) You sure I ain't too heavy on ya, Tif?

Tifa: (Smiles at Dedede Reassuring) Positive. I have carried lots of heavier stuff on my shoulders the past after all. Though, I do hope you know that this means that you will have to come back to our training session starting this week, right?

Dedede: ('Sigh') Yeah, I know.

late night live

Candy wasn't paying attention. Not because she didn't care about the way music spoke to Chan, but because she had a lot more on her mind than what music did to her soul. The last three weeks or so were beyond confusing for her. She couldn't pay much attention to anything if left alone. She was grateful someone never left her alone.

Candy watched Chan, letting her thoughts drift unto her leader. She smiled to herself at the fact she had once been quite taken with him. Since he had started doing these Late Night Lives, as she liked to call them, she found herself wanting to be more like him and less with him. Her heart had beat a certain way for him and she knew that it was only as an older brother now.

Candy sighed softly, her thoughts going straight back to Jeongin. Her first boyfriend. As she saw it, he would probably be her only boyfriend ever. She didn't see herself as unlovable, but she knew how hard being an idol was and now new the pressure of what dating an idol could do to the mental state of someone. Jeongin had been insecure and scared, she knew that, but he handled it wrong. She didn't want to put that pressure on anyone else. She knew her worth and wouldn't dare let any man decide that for her, no matter how happy he made her.

"Hey Chan and Candy, I just got out of a relationship and I need some advice on how to move on. I see him a lot and I want to know the best way to get a step out, thank you!" Chan read, drawing Candy's attention to the live once again. Candy went to open her mouth, but Chan beat her to it.

"I think the best way to deal with a break up, at first anyway, is to focus on yourself. A lot of people really worry on how the other person will respond to anything and everything you do - especially if you see them all the time. Take a deep breath, realize why it didn't work out, and pursue the things that make you happy. Surround yourself with people who always know how to make you feel better - even if your ex may not approve. You're broken up. They have no say.

"As for a few weeks later or maybe even a month or two, I suggest making sure you're happy. I don't mean like just in that moment, but over all. Break ups can hurt like heck, especially if the person meant so much to you. You deserve to not have them cliuding your thoughts all the time and prohibiting your life. Specifically, if you see them a lot, don't let that make yoy change any plans. See who you want, do what you want, et cetera. You are your own person, do what makes you happy.

"I think, after any break up, refinding what makes you happy and brings you joy is so important. Being yourself and having such an innate confidence when doing so will draw the right person, or no person if you prefer. Just do you, be you, and have fun," Chan concluded, looking back at Candy. "Anything you want to add?"

Candy was, for lack of a better word, shook.

"Uhm, the things of theirs that you have. If you really want to jump start the moving on, all you need to do is grt rid of their stuff. It'll hurt as you do it, but once it's gone there's no memories left laying around," Candy nodded, sighing softly. Chan smiled at her and went on, leaving her to think about what he said. It didn't last long before her phone vibrated.

Jisung: i was watching the live and wanted to check up on you?

Jisung: it really hit you, i can tell

Jisung: i'll quit blowing up your phone now :) just know i'm always here to talk!

Candy: wanna come join us?

Candy: it'd make me feel a lot better

Jisung: omw!!

Candy felt weirdly excited to see Jisung. Although Jeongin claimed he had feelings for her, she never noticed the difference between friendly Jisung and in-love Jisung. She wondered, briefly, if there was a difference. That was shook away as Jisung entered the room. She knew without a doubt the resr of the live would be spectacular.

"Hey," Jisung mumbled, taking a seat on the other side of Chan. He shot Candy a smile, reminding her she was the reason he was here.

"Were you spying and decided to jump in?" Chan asked.

"Something like that," Jisung shrugged. "But what happened to the music? You played some a while ago."

"Can I play something?" Candy spoke up, clearly exciting the two boys. She moved to the computer and carefully thought about her choice for less than five seconds. Immediately, Jisung's face lit up.

"You're playing this?" He asked, laughing slightly.

"Is this something I shoukd know?" Chan mumbled, leaning forward.

"I felt I had to," Candy shrugged, laughing softly.

"Tribulation by Matt Maeson?" Chan looked at the two. "Why are you guys smiling like that?"

"We were listening to it when we met," Jisung started.

"Well, before you introduced us," Candy added.

"What was it? June? May?" Jisung hummed aloud.

"Late May, early June-ish," Candy nodded. " The monthly evaluation was approaching and I wanted to sing this time instead of dance. I was struggling to find a song so I was browsing through all the songs I had ever listened to - even just once - while also pacing the hallway."

"I, on the other hand, needed some inspiration for a song you desperately wanted me and Changbin to get a headstart on. I had this song in mind, but I couldn't remember the title. I turned the corner, head down to look at my phone, but quickly-"

"We collided," Candy finished, laughing.

"You guys met before I introduced you?" Chan frowned. "Why haven't you ever mentioned it?"

"It never seemed that important," Jisung stated. "Besides, you wouldn't have believed either of us at that point."

"That's true! It took him forever to believe I just couldn't rap. He thought because I could mumble syllables at a fast rate meant I could rap. I could barely breathe each time he made me do it," Candy shook her head. 'We should leave the rapping where it is."

"Wait, how exactly did you two know it was this song playing?" Chan questioned.

"Candy is a clutz," Jisung immediately said.

"Hey! You walked into me, remember?"

"No, I definitely stopped and you backed into me."

"Backed into you?? How!"

"Oh, as if you don't know. You were there!"

"Han Jisung, I swear," her tone was harsh, but she was smiling. Jisung could always make her smile, and she knew Chan wouldn't let it go.

"Okay, okay," Jisung laughed. " I turned the corner and we collided. We both dropped our phones and her headphones came out or she upped the volume or something. I immediately froze in my spot as she tried to gather her things. I was listening to that song."

"I didn't know who he was," Candy returned to the conversation. "But I was new and didn't want to cause any trouble. As I grabbed my things, I accidentally grabbed his phone and realized we were both playing the same song."

"She literally tossed me my phone and then sprinted away. The end," Jisung clasped his hands together.

"That was wild start to finish," Chan hummed, turning away from the two younger members.

Candy watched in silence as Jisung continued to interrupt Chan reading out comments. Jisung's smile was wide and bright. She liked seeing it, she knew that. She enjoyed having Jisung as her friend. She wouldn't trade him for the world.

"Thanks for joining the live," Candy said, sitting on the couch in the dorm with her juice box. Felix had gotten them so she knew he wouldn't mind.

"Of course! I'm your knight in shining armor, remember?" Jisung winked.

"I thougt we all called you Hero for a month?"

"Knight in shining armor sounds more elegant."

"What about hero in shining armor?"

"Beautiful."

"It's like three in the morning. We should head to bed."

"You don't seem as tired as me though."

"That's okay, goodnight Jisung."

"G'night Candy."

Candy laid in bed, eyes focused on the ceiling. She had been weirdly sleeping good since the breakup while it was clear Jeongin was not. Now it seemed the tables had flipped. She didn't like it.

Candy seemed to have even more things on her mind. Did Jisung actually love her? Was she over Jeongin? Could she really go perform love songs that held no meaning to her liffe anymore? Did she close the fridge door?

Candy rolled over and let out a sigh.

If only her mother was here.

Mini Fanfic #984: Gazing Upon the Memorable Stars (Final Fantasy 7)

8:45 p.m. at Nibelheim Village......

Tifa: (Eyes Cover By Her Boyfriend's Hands) Clooooud, are we there yet?

Cloud: Tifa, you've been tasking me that since we got on the train.

Tifa: (Immediately Puts on a Pouty Look on her Face) Well, excuse me for being excited! All you ever told me before we left the mansion is that you wanted to take me somewhere special and yet you never bothered to talk about it after. You didn't even give me any hints or clues for me to guess on!

Cloud: (Shrugs) Gotta keep it as a surprise somehow. Besides....(Smirks a Little) Seeing you get excited for it does brighten up my day a little. It even makes you more adorable than usual.

Tifa: (Giggles Softly While Blushing a Little) Why, thank you, my dear Cloud~ But I'm still a firm believer that you're more cuter~

Cloud: (Rolls his Eyes) You can keep believing that lie all you want later. Cause right now.....(Releases his Hands from Tifa's Eyes) We're here.

Tifa eyes to widned and sparkle as as gasps loudly at the sight of.....

Tifa: The water barrel!? It's still here!?

Cloud: (Simply Nodded) Yep. It's looks the same as it always been. I figured we could go up here and gaze upon the stars for a bit like we used growing up, before we head to your bar. (Shrugs Again) Of course, we could leave and-

????: CLOOOOUD!~

Cloud turns to see Tifa already at the staircase of the barrel in a near distance

Tifa: Are you gonna stand over there all night or are you gonna watch some stars with me!? (Starts Climbing Up the Stairs)

Cloud: (Sighs While making his Way to the Staircase) And you still say that I'm impatient?

Tifa: Well, at least I don't act angsty about it like you do. And in case you've forgotten, Mr. Strife, I'm-

Cloud: (Climbs Up Behind Tifa) Yeah, yeah I know. You're the Birthday Girl and almost everything you say is obsolete. Just try not fall off from up here, alright?

Tifa: (Snickers While Playfully Rolling Her Eyes) Honestly, Cloud, you worry too much. I've come up here a lot more times than you can count growing up. (Got Up on the Wooden Platform) I'll be careful. (Looks Up at the Night Skies Before Nodding at it With a Smile) Hm. The view looks good up here as always. (Turns to the Barrel Itself Before Walking Around it) And Barrel still seems to be in good place.... (Starts Walking Backwards While Noticing Something On the Barrel) Uhh...Cloud?

Cloud: (Finally Got Up on the Platform) Yeah?

Tifa: I know it's been decades since we came back here and all, but....(Shows Cloud the "C+T" Written and Scraped onto the Barrel) Was that always been there or.....

Cloud: (Kneels Down to Take a Closer Look at the Letters in Question) Huh. I remember writing that?

Tifa: (Eyes Widened at Cloud in Genuine Surprise) Wait seriously? When?

Cloud: (Turns to Tifa) After you went back home that one night. I....(Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth While Shyly Looking Away) might've had feelings for you at the time. So I decided to carved my first letter name next to yours. It's not really anything to write home about, but-

Tifa: (Immediately Pulls Cliud into a Loving Hug) Oh Cloud, you sweetheart!~ I didn't know you had a thing on me from the very beginning~

Cloud: (Starts Blushing a Little) Y-Yeah, well......it was kinda hard not to when you're only friend at the time was a girl......And it's not like I had a chance with you anyways. There were tons of guys crushing on you back then.

Tifa: Yeah, but I never really had any interest in them back. (Puts on a Playful Smirk on her Face) Were you jealous?~

Cloud: Hell no.

Tifa: You suuuuure?~ Cause I seen to recall the time you tried to impress me by winning a game of dodgeball~

Cloud: ('Groans While Rolling his Eyes') Don't remind me......I don't even know why I bothered playing if I kept being an easy target.

Tifa: Well, you did say you could beat them all at once. You even called one of them a pansy

Cloud: ('Sigh') Which I instantly regretted it the moment the ball skyrocketed towards my face..... Kid me was the biggest idiot there was.

Tifa: Yeah, but at least you had fun in the end, right?

Cloud: I guess....But if we ever play a game a dodgeball in the future, we are teaming up. No questions asked.

Tifa: (Giggles Softly) Sounds like a plan!~ (Turns Back to the Bright Stars in the Skies Woth Fond Like Smile) It really does look beautiful out here tonight.

Cloud: (Starts Smiling at the Skies as Well) Agreed. It's a lot peaceful looking than I remembered.

Tifa: Maybe us growing older got something to do with it?

Cloud: Probably. I don't feel like shit as much as I used to anymore, that's for sure.

Tifa: (Lays her Head Onto Cloud's Shoulder) I'm glad. Now I can stop worrying about you all the time.

Cloud: (Starts Smirking a Little) I doubt that will last. You're way too much of a Mother Bear to even try.

Tifa: ('Sighs Heavily') Yeahhhhhh, but.....A woman can still dream.

Cloud: If it makes you feel any better, I'll always appreciate you and your motherly nature.

Tifa: (Starts Forming a Pouty Look on her Face Again) You're just saying that cause it's my birthday today.....

Cloud: Not entirely. (Looks Uo at the Stars) You've been by my side since the very beginning. Even when I'm at my absolute lowest, you always find a way to bring me back to sanity and helped me realize that my life has more value than anyone ever gave it credit for. I may not tell you this more often as I should, but......(Turns to Tifa With Sincere Smile on his Face) I still wann thank you, Tifa Lockhart, for everything.

Tifa: (Hearts Starts Melting in Pure Happiness as Tears Starts Falling Down From her Eyes) Cloooooooud~

Cloud: (Starts Snickering) Crying your eyes out already? That was fast.

Tifa: (Immediately Pulls Cloud into a Tight, Loving Hug) Shut up!~ It's YOUR fault I'm like this~ Why do you have to so sweet, huh?~

Cloud: Hey, it's your fault for making me soft over the years. Not I'm complaining, of course. You changed me for better for me.

Tifa: (Puts on a Teary Smile) ('Sniff') And I couldn't be any prouder. You've come a long way, Mr. Strife. And I love you so much for it~

Cloud: I live you too, Ms. Lockhart. (Kiss the Top of Tifa's Head) Happy Birthday.

Tifa: ('Sniff') Thank you.
