Lying in my bed
I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcase of memories
Time after
Sometimes you picture me
I'm walkin' too far ahead
You're callin' to me
I can't hear what you've said
Then you say, "go slow"
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades
And darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows
You're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets stolen
From deep inside
The drum beats out of time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
You said, "go slow"
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting

New Video: Elisapie Shares Gorgeous Rendition of The Rolling Stones "Wild Horses" @Elisapie @bonsound @bonsoundpromo @girlieaction @delkin03 @rollingstones @mickjagger @officialkeef
Acclaimed Montréal-based singer/songwriter, musician, actor and activist Elisapie was born and raised in Salluit, a small village in Nunavik, Québec’s northernmost region. In this extremely remote community, accessible only by plane, she was raised by an extended, yet slightly dysfunctional adoptive family. Growing up in Salliut, she lived through the loss of cousins who ended their lives,…
Matchbox Twenty feel random. I mean, their career doesn't make much sense. They're not terrible, mind you, though you keep asking yourself – how did they become so big? Well, Live In Australia might provide you with a possible answer here. When you will check the video, you shall noticed they're quite great in the setting of their tours, they even do some fine covers. Maybe that might be the reason for their success, which remains another thing of theirs some don't completely get. While the group does sound better n the halls, the band does veer a bit towards a certain generic adult contemporary mode favoured by the elder statesmen. Yes, they did achieve the status recently, yet they always felt for me like a collective that calcified their tones way too soon.
I am loving all this haw lore! I'm wondering, at this point in the hawniverse, how many people know that Matthew is 1) in a relationship 2) with a man 3) who is Leon Draisaitl? And also when do they tell people/people start figuring it out? (At the end, McDavid and Hyman have some idea, right?) Thank you for sharing all of these details :D
hi anon, thank you, i'm glad you're enjoying it! ❤
by "at this point" i'm going to assume you mean up the the latest point that i've written, which is the one-year-later timestamp (which on the calendar would be summer 2023 but not the REAL summer 2023, y'know? the hawniverse summer 2023) so here is a brief timeline from the end of haw up to that point:
mcdavid and hyman know pretty much from the end of the fic, connor more than hyman, because connor kind of knew before anyway and leon REALLY needs someone to talk to after the events of the last chapter and connor is his sounding board for most things. hyman gets a more brief explanation because leon feels like he is owed one after the matthew encounter at leon's house, not a lot of details but enough that he knows there's a relationship there.
obviously matthew tells brady and taryn he has a boyfriend at the very end of the fic, but they don't know that it's leon until later.
matthew comes out to his parents over the summer and does tell them he's seeing someone, but doesn't tell them who yet. (leon does the same with his family, except he does explain the whole "it's another guy in the league and i'm not telling you who because i want to respect his privacy until he's ready to tell people" thing)
at the beginning of the next season matthew tells his close friends on the flames that he's seeing a guy, but not who it is yet.
matthew does the big identity reveal to his fam at christmas, because he and leon are planning a post-asg vacation together and he doesn't want to have to be all secretive about it. leon tells his parents shortly after, before the next oilers/flames game when he and matthew can facetime them together.
matthew tells his close teammates on the flames that it's leon after the asg, when he has plenty of vacation pictures for proof lmao
after that is it kind of a slow trickle of sharing the information on a need-to-know/it-feels-right basis. matthew's uncle-agent and grandparents also know at this point, his close friends like rob thomas and auston know (he wasn't kidding that it would be hard to keep a secret, lol); leon's sister and brother-in-law know, and a handful of his close friends and teammates. it's a small but not SUPER small group, which means they definitely have some spaces where they can just exist as a couple together, which is initially kind of anxiety-inducing for matthew but eventually really nice ❤

Time After Time
Written By: Cyndi Lauper & Rob Hyman
Artist: Cyndi Lauper
Released: 1984
Cover included: Iron & Wine, 2016
Written by Lauper, with assistance from Rob Hyman, “Time After Time” is one of the all-time great love ballads. It was Lauper’s first #1 hit and arguably her signature song. After Lauper had already recorded the large majority of her debut album—She’s So Unusual—her producer Rick Chertoff insisted she needed “one more song.” Chertoff introduced her to Hyman and they began working on the song. Lauper came up with the title while reading TV Guide—Time After Time was a 1979 science fiction movie starring Malcolm McDowell as H. G. Wells, portraying him inventing a time traveling machine. Lauper’s label initially wanted this song to be her first single before she convinced them to go with “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” In her memoir, Lauper recounts: “When the album was completed, the label wanted the first single to be “Time After Time.” But I kept saying to them, “Listen to me—releasing a ballad first defines you in a certain way. You become known as a balladeer, and it can kill your career.”

Summertime
Written By: Mikey Way, Ray Toro, Gerard Way & Frank Iero
Artist: My Chemical Romance
Released: 2010
“Summertime” is a ‘new wave’ song, allegedly believed to be written about frontman Gerard Way’s wife, Lyn-z Way. In an interview, Gerard said that it started as a riff Mikey had written, before evolving into a song they ‘couldn’t have the record without.’ “[“Summertime”] is one of the lyrically personal songs on the album, whereas the rest of it is just me talking about my worldview. So it’s a really beautiful song and again—no rules. We can have a soft song.”
[Verse 1]
When the lights go out
Will you take me with you
And carry all this broken bone
Through six years down
In crowded rooms and highways I call home?
Is something I can't know till now
Till you picked me off the ground
With brick in hand, your lip-gloss smile
Your scraped-up knees and
[Chorus]
If you stay, I would even wait all night
Or until my heart explodes, how long until we
Find our way in the dark and out of harm?
You can run away with me anytime you want
[Verse 2]
Terrified of what I'd be
As a kid, from what I've seen
Every single day when people try
And put the pieces back together
Just to smash them down
Turn my headphones up real loud
I don't think I need them now
'Cause you stop the noise and
[Chorus]
If you stay, I would even wait all night
Or until my heart explodes, how long until we
Find our way in the dark and out of harm?
You can run away with me anytime you want
[Post-Chorus]
Well, anytime you want
Well, anytime you want
[Guitar Solo]
[Bridge]
Don't walk away, don't walk away
Don't walk away, don't walk away!
[Chorus]
'Cause if you stay, I would even wait all night
Or until my heart explodes, how long until we
Find our way in the dark and out of harm?
You can run away with me
[Post-Chorus]
Or you can write it on your arm
You can run away with me
Anytime you want

“REWARDS KINDNESS OF WESTMOUNT CITIZEN BY ROBBING HIS APARTMENT,” Montreal Star. October 25, 1921. Page 3.

Modern Samaritan's Charity Meets With Unexpected Outcome— Thieves Who Took $1,200 Worth of Goods Arrested — Will Be Sentenced Tomorrow
---
A Westmount resident who befriended an apparently destitute man and took him into his home to feed and clothe him was repaid for his act when the man returned to the house in his benefactor's absence and with the aid of another man and a young boy, stole furs and woman's wear to the value of over $1,200.
The two men and the boy were arrested by Detectives Broden and Riddock of the Westmount force last night and pleaded guilty to the theft before Magistrate Raddon in the Westount Police Court this morning. They gave the names of James Hyman, 21 years of age, of no address, and Leslie Thomas, alias Walter James Rowe, 24 years of age, also of no address. The boy's name it withheld by the police. The trio were remanded for sentence until tomorrow morning.
The victim of the theft was George Stockbridge, who lives in an apartment at 4102 Sherbrooke street, Westmount.
KINDNESS REPAID
Mr. Stockbridge told the police of how he had been accosted by Thomas, or Rowe, on the street and believing the man to be hungry and in need had taken him into his home and looked after him. The man must have returned with the other and the boy about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon while Stockbridge was downtown and broke into the house. When found last night Thomas was in a house on St. Lawrence Blvd. in the company of a woman. Most of the goods stolen by the trio were recovered in this place by the detective.
