on-site as of doing the other prompt for 26th of risetober I’m just gonna share my redesign of renet tilly

Name: renet tilly (Mikey named her after a hip-hop artist he listened too)

gender: girl

sexuality: Omnisexual

species: kraang.

Occupation: junior soldier of the kraang

backstory: this redesign takes place in the rise universe, so when she was traveling to the earth dimension, half way through the portal had closed and she crashed her ship in the hidden city (portal dimension stuff idk). She lost her memory after the crash, only remembering how to work the strange device in her tentacle. Fast-forward a little bit, she dawns kraang armor and a headpiece similar to a nun, with two gauntlets that stem from the black bindings on her wrist. She fights in the battle nexus, feeling it’s the only place she belongs. She goes by the name of “timetress”.

walking on the streets were too dangerous, how would other people know who she is when she doesn’t either?

I’m thinking about making a comic/fic about how her and Mikey meet and….other stuff….

let’s go into the design of her costume!

So dimension X has these things called “muta-gems” these crystals give their armory various powers and allow them to take a more human form. Her gauntlets are powered by these crystals, when she hits a surface, there is a radius in which a “time zone” appears, making everything slow down and have her seem quicker to anyone watching within the zone.

The top half armor kind of flakes out from the chest plate part of the armor, while the bottom part is more manually put on.

(note: this design is pretty beta put I’m planing adding more details to tell the story so dw❤️)

the reason why I decided to redesign her was because when I saw the episode where renet was introduced I fucking hated her design. I have no issues with the character herself, she’s a sweetheart but omfg it brought out a pet peeve within me.

I usually group TMNT with sci-fi, and when they started bringing fucking time magic and travel, it just didn’t work. Time travel can be sci-fi, but the way they handled it was infuriating. Renet looks like she belongs in a fantasy setting, not a sci-fi one. If they were gonna introduce time-travel, then they should have went the cyberpunk route for her, since that’s what the TMNT version of New York looks like it would be heading to more cyberpunk shit. Her wand or cane or whatever tf doesn’t even match that well with her, it looks too rusty and uses warm and dark colors instead of the cooler and lighter colors renet uses.

WHY ARE THOSE FUCKING LITTLE BUBBLE WRAP THINGS ON HER TOP???? It looks so out of place, you would use that kind of stuff for aquatic character tbh. The only thing that relates to time is the headpiece she has, I really like it I think it’s creative but it also looks…tacky… like a knights helmet but not.

so for this redesign I decided to go for more spiky and sharper edges to signify danger and such. I’ll also add more stuff to the gauntlets and chest plate to be more related to time.

Introducing Lita May!

I’d originally introduced Lita to my patreons, but Ive now changed a lot of her backstory (and design), because I was struck by inspiration at like three in the morning, (and was getting fomo from all the other absolutely adorable turtle babies I’ve been seeing)

So we all know Donnie created a mech body for Raph thanks to concept art, but in this AU, I feel like Donnie would be juuuuust morally questionable enough to think creating backup clones first would be a good idea. He wasn’t expecting the small bits of Krang tech he had to incorporate to have such a huge impact, tbh he wasn’t even really expecting anything at all—which is also why he used his own DNA for the trial run, and…since Donnie wasn’t expecting a success, he was pretty shocked at the final result.

Donnie was also only able to observe the first month and a half of “incubation” (tube not egg), but was, unfortunately stuck at another resistance base for so long, when he returned, Lita May had grown a substantial amount and was ready to be removed from her tube (he was back for like two days before she started opening her eyes and reacting to stimulus). She took three months total to grow.

Raph and Leo kinda don’t really know how to react to her. Leo immediately clocks the Krang characteristics and is pretty furious. Raph is just confused, but when Donnie fills them in on the origin of Lita’s birth, Raph’s not too happy either. Neither one takes it out on Lita. Donnie does get a pretty severe talking to. Mikey, Timothy and Cass are so excited, and April is beyond shocked to be named the godmother. The family keeps Lita a secret, but it’s evident that she’s got some Krang in her, and they all know that the other members of the resistance might try to hurt her, and ask Renet to take her. Casey loses his playmate, but he does get to see her every few months.

She’s kept in the dark about her family’s future, and is pretty mad at Renet for not warning her of her anything, and she eventually gets sick of the secrets.

Listen Casey Jr can’t exist in the past without Timestress intervention! Basically, Renet and Future!Mikey were friends she told him time travel was a thing but totally against the rules. Ok- So no doubt that Leo lectures for 3.5 business days about Donnie and his irresponsibleness in messing with Krang DNA, but I feel like the minute he thinks no one is watching his soft side is coming out for that baby.

Oh he’s definitely an over protective uncle. Probably even more-so with Lita, than he is with Casey, because at least he has a hand in making sure Casey has the knowledge he needs to survive. With Mayday, he’s kinda forced to give up the reigns in her training. But he loves her, even if he seems a little stiff and distant. Though, later down the line….Lita is a little resentful towards Leo and Mikey that they let things get so out of hand—even if logically she knows they couldn’t have foreseen things ending the way they did.

"After the fallout of Donatello's death and Michelangelo's retaliation, the Resistance clears out the Lab, salvaging anything they can. The young mystic warrior excuses himself into an empty room, waiting for a certain someone."

Extra context about Renet specifically: she's a Time Lord, that came to meet the turtles at the very second Donnie first had the idea of time travel. She's invisible, can't interact with time, is merely a watcher, a ghost. However, Mikey was already powerful enough to be able to see her roaming around, so they began a sort of friendship that quickly blossomed into the sweetest of love.

Renet taught Mikey a few tricks about time, how the timeline works, and all that. She would sometimes give hints about the future to come, circumventing the rules about being unable to interfere with riddles, but Mikey has always been good at deciphering her clues. He would call her his "Soothsayer".

And then Donnie died (she showed up after Raph's death). Mikey, shaken by grief and pain, blames Renet for not fixing things. And that maybe he should go and time travel and fix the timeline himself.

Cue the story.

And yes, Bishop killed Donnie with antimutagen in a betrayal move. And yes, Michelangelo raided the E.P.F. facility on a blind rage and killed basically everyone in there.
