Danny had won a piece of Constantine's soul by right of conquest in his first few weeks without knowing it at the time.
Being minors and above all consider themselves as such, the right to Constantine's soul is temporarily entrusted to his parents.
Constantine was going to a ghost hunter convention to verify the authenticity of some exhibitors on behalf of the JL/JLD. Not really of his own free will he wants to clarify.
But his day radically changes course when he meets a duo of "ecto-scientists" who have a right to his soul.

Elen Tully walks up to the bed slowly, looking down at the face of the cousin she loved like her own brother, her eyes filling with tears again. Reaching out, she brushes a hand across his forehead, featherlight, her lower lip trembling. Raising the black handkerchief to her mouth once again, she stifles a sob, then leans down to take one of Andrey's hands, holding it in both of her own as she begins to speak quietly.
"Well, Andrey, here we are. I never thought...never thought anyone was strong enough to kill you. I never thought..."
Closing her eyes, the young Tully marshals her grief, squeezing the dead lord's hand between her own, "I'm so mad at you. I'm SO mad. How could you, Andrey. How could you?! Stupid, stupid man! Why did you have to die over that slut's honor?"
Lowering her head, Elen touches her forehead to Andrey's hand, weeping quietly. She knows why. She knows. How he'd loved Beatrice, almost beyond reason. How it had broken him when she'd died trying to birth him a son. How Grace was Beatrice's baby sister. How he felt obligated to keep the girl safe, because he considered the foolish chit a sister every bit as much as he’d considered Elen a sister.
Honor just gets you killed.
Raising her head, Elen looks at her dead cousin and says in a choked voice, "I love you, biggest big brother of mine. I will love you as long as stars do shine, and will miss you every day of my life. Thank you for being the bravest, best biggest big brother a little sister could ever ask for."
Straightening, she keeps hold of his hand, stroking the top of it lightly as she begins to sing in broken tones, a dirge, of sorts. A goodbye. Her voice isn’t spectacular - and how could it be when she’d had wept as much as she had. As much as she still wants to. But she infuses the words with all of her loss, pouring all of her grief into this very private goodbye.
"I am a poor, wayfaring Stranger,
Traveling through this world alone.
There is no sickness, toil, nor danger
In that fair land to which I go.
"I'm going home to see my mother.

I am just going over Red Fork.

Her face crumples again, and Elen leans over to press a kiss against Andrey’s hand before setting it back on his chest and releasing her grip on him. Wiping at her eyes, she turns and makes her way out of the room.
Eddard Snow had best count his days, because Elen Tully will see him dead if it’s the last thing she does.

I started a new Birthright file and I can promise you I won't beat it this time either but. I still find it funny you can pick "my talent is dragon" and then you get these cool intros to dragon veins and then go on a rampage on accident. Like, good. Sure thing.
I normally do fish names or base names if I use the default appearance. But I like male Corrin's default better than female's and I opted to grab a gal (for Support reasons) and so...... I just. Named her Rin-rin. I might not draw her a lot but oh well. Wanted to give her at least one doodle honor.

with the aegon's conquest show soon to grace our screens, i kindly remind everyone to remain open-minded about argella durrandon and what happened to her. She was a free princess/queen in her own right, and getting (forcefully) married to one of the attackers and forced to bear his sons never to be heard of again is not the love story everyone thinks it is. That too after being chained naked and presented to him as a peace offering.

since i’d already played the original trilogy approximately seven million times in french, i finally got round to playing french apollo justice instead. just finished it and hoooo boy was this localisation just as interesting
just like in the og trilogy, the entire thing now takes place in france (presumably paris, though they didn’t specify in this one). at least there aren’t earthquakes this time so it doesn’t feel quite as surreal.
apollo’s “i’m fine!” catchphrase is now “tout va bien !” which means “everything’s fine!”
some of the names have been translated again. for example, trucy is now called “Vérité” which not only is the french form of the english name “Verity”, but it also is the literal french word for “truth”, which gives some dialogues a double meaning whenever they’re discussing the truth. “Vous dites... la vérité... Apollo Justice... ?”
they did not change lamiroir’s name. they did however change machi tobaye to “Tomas Kashkash”, make of that what you will
in the first case, phoenix and kristoph use formal pronouns when addressing each other in court, and informal pronouns outside of court, which is fun. by the final case they’re exclusively using formal pronouns since their friendship has pretty much ended. (it’s a similar case with klavier and daryan, who switch to formal pronouns when they’re trying to be serious/professional and when their friendship starts to splinter.) (apollo and trucy use informal pronouns on each other pretty much the whole way through.)
trucy says “Mééééééé !” a lot
she also calls apollo “Pollo”
wocky kitaki (”Willy” in french) is my fricking favourite oh my god. he speaks in such verlan-ified slang i had to painstakingly decipher every single thing he said. i love him. when he said “sakom” i felt that 😔✊ he’s nigh-incomprehensible just like he was in the english version. absolute king.
in order to make wocky so iconic they apparently had to sacrifice klavier though, because in this version he is english. ENGLISH. AS IN, FROM ENGLAND. usually the french localisation takes its cues from the english version so i thought they’d keep him german, and then when he started calling people “miss” instead of “Fräulein” i thought maybe they’d made him american, like he was in the original japanese version, but NO IT TURNS OUT HE’S JUST ENGLISH??? LIKE FROM ENGLAND????? U WOT M8 JOLLY GOOD OLD CHAP CHEWSDAY INNIT????? I’M FROM ENGLAND, THIS IS THROWING ME OFF TOO MUCH
and they didn’t even commit to the englishification!! he barely says any english stuff at all! he sometimes says “miss” or “mister” and that’s... about it? he doesn’t even have any “Achtung, baby!” equivalent!! he calls apollo “M. Grand Front” which yeah means basically the same thing as herr forehead but it’s entirely in french so what’s the point?? god if you were gonna curse him by making him from freaking england then at least go all the way?? at least his “Objection !” sounds cool i guess...
and his name is “Konrad” in this version. that’s fine because “clavier” means “keyboard” in french (like the thing you type on) so i get that it would have sounded silly. but imo they should have gone in the opposite direction and picked a random english word to name him then. they should have named him Stapler or something. why’d they give him a normal name. he is Stapler Gavin in my heart
ema calls him “minet pailleté” btw which yeah pretty much just means glimmerous fop. (she studied in england too in this version WHY THE FRICK IS EVERYONE ENGLISH)
there were some fun french puns, such as calling phoenix apollo’s “mentor” (french for “mentor”, if you couldn’t guess) and then calling him “menteur” which means liar and sounds very similar

Tbh, the question of whether or not Nayuta is a threat to humanity is much less interesting to me compared to the question of whether she'll ever understand that she can't both make Denji happy and isolate him from all other relationships.
This chapter kicks that can down the road yet again. But, when all's said and done, I wonder what will win out: her possessiveness of Denji, or her love for him?
