J’ai revu hier soir pour la énième fois L’AVENTURE DE MADAME MUIR (1947) du grand Joseph Mankiewicz. Tiré d’un roman de R A DICK, nous sommes en présence d’une magnifique histoire d’amour entre une jeune femme pétillante de vie (Gene Tierney au firmament de son talent et de sa beauté ) et d’un marin fantôme décédé quatre ans auparavant (charismatique et magnétique Rex Harrison). Sous son faux ère de comédie romantico-fantastique se cache en réalité une œuvre sombre, mélancolique et poétique. Les images somptueuse en noir et blanc sont magnifiées par l’éclairage de Charles Lang. L’envoûtante partition musicale composée par Bernard Herman transcende chaque plans du film (Je l’écoute d’ailleurs souvent et elle reste peut-être pour moi ma BO préférée du maître). Joseph Mankiewicz a souvent déclaré que son long métrage était pour lui avec LE LIMIER un aboutissement dans sa carrière cinématographique. The 'My Fair Lady' saga is finally complete! I found the movie soundtrack on vinyl years ago, but unfortunately, the record itself didn't match. So I turned it into a blacklight art piece. My theatre mom @i.dont.sher gifted me the correct vinyl record for my birthday. I then framed the extra album sleeve. CYCLE MAISON HANTÉE C’est l’avant dernier jour de mon cycle. Le film d’aujourd’hui est très différent des autres que j’ai traité car ce n’est absolument pas un film d’horreur. Pourtant croyez-moi c’est sans nul doute une des œuvres les plus marquantes de ma liste.L’ Aventure de Madame Muir de Joseph Mankiewicz (1947) est une magnifique histoire d’amour entre une femme pétillante de vie (rayonnante Gene Tierney ) et un fantôme austère (magnétique Rex Harrison). le film débute comme une jolie comédie fantastique pour enchaîner par la suite vers une romance platonique et qui se clôt par un dénouement bouleversant qui ferait chialer ma collection de pierres ! Magnifié par un somptueux noir et blanc éclairé par Charles Lang, les acteurs sont en états de grâce. La partition musicale de Bernard Hermann est inoubliable.
