Welcome back to fullfilment Friday. This week we are talking about finding our way back to our 0.

I initially had a whole other piece I planned to write. I struggled through six paragraphs before giving up. I´ve been writing on and off all week. Trying to find the right way to word my feelings and thoughts. I wanted to write a piece about comfort, but I don't even know comfort right now. I know solitude and patience. I´m losing my ability to maintain that too. The holiday season is upon us, and I´m feeling it in ways I never thought I could. I recently moved away to LA and plan to stay here permanently. The idea of that frightens me to no end. LA is like a lot of the big cities I have been to. It´s nothing crazy and the downtown area isn't really active. People work all over and the traffic is atrocious. It can be boring when you want boring, and fun when you want fun. I have felt many things while living here. The feeling I have felt most is fear. Life can go any type of way while I am here, and that´s scary. The one thing I don't feel, however, is loneliness. I feel quite comfortable with all the people I am interacting with and it's a strange thing. I've been honoring the familiarity within everyone I meet. Honoring their humanity.

I recently made numerous ¨big chops¨ from my life. In the sense, that a lot of what I thought was once me, is no longer any part of me. At least I like to think that way. I feel different and disapprove of the way I used to be. Being in your early 20s is processing the inescapable dread of resolving your past indiscretions and pains. You are looking forward to a different version of you. It is such a time when we are forced into the in-between. In between the success of graduating high school and college, and our first successful career move. It is when we are looking for that big break and that first big check. Some of us are buying big girl cars and crashing them. Many of us are broke and back at home. Some of us are moving out, and albeit not permanently, we are realizing it isn't like being in school. It isn´t like having a party down the street and that same easy access to everyone. WE ARE STARTING OVER.

With that comes loneliness. It comes the inevitable ¨what the hell am I doing here.¨ I am not in the best financial situation. I am not in the best apartment, BUT, I am where I want to be. I look at so many of my friends and associates and am proud to see them move ahead and see the future unfold for them. I miss having certain friends and knowing what's going on with them. We are all going down so many different paths to get where we are going. Right now, I am enjoying the fact that I´m just floating. I refuse to run through life as I have, I have no desire to walk it out. I just decided to float. This is a comfortable path for me. I, for a time, became disillusioned with my decisions and unsure of the path. The best thing I could do was allow myself the confusion of moving on and forward. There's nothing back there behind me. We know the past is biased memories shrouded in mystery. You will never know how this one did well and how that one did poorly, but that is the curse of time. Things change and move ahead. What can we do?

I don't see a big success in the near future, maybe distant. I've been looking at the right now, and my view is ok. Palm trees and sun. The rain is clearing up. My purpose is unfolding before me, and I am seeing the world as clearly as ever. This is my 0. There is only what I want to do and how I want to live. Everything else will fall into place as I pass through life. I know there are struggles. I know pain, but I refuse to suffer in my failures. There is always a path through the mud. We just have to find the right shoes and tools to get us out of it.

So, as I exist in my 0. I am reclaiming the right to desire fully and with sureness. I used to limit myself to mediocrity and demanded little. I don't want to do that anymore. I don't want friendships that are just okay. I do not want a barely romantic romance. I do not care to have food just because I need to eat. I crave light, love, and joy. I thirst for satisfaction and breath for liberation. I want an apartment with the sunlight that shines through and a kitchen with freshly baked pastries and tea. I want a living room with the furniture I picked out. I want a group of friends who love truthfully and joyfully. I want romance and sex that is breathtaking and life-changing. Most of all, I want to see myself in a mirror and have to take a beat because I am admiring the beauty that has fallen upon me. Do you know why? because that is what satisfies me. That is what brings me joy. I hope that this brought you a moment to reconsider what brings you joy. For your letter to Santa, the universe, whatever you believe will give you your desires. I hope you ask for everything you´ve ever wanted and more.
