Thoughts on Reutlinger album 1
And the photos mentioned -
Marville’s stripey skirt + Verena’s fan
Women in haystacks is a thing?
Yahne and Gaulthier
Yahne was an actress! Leonie Yahne in “Petit Chagrin”
Gauthier on his own!
Yahne on her own!
Is that a cigarette?!
It is! - some sort of halls act - Marie Labounskaja - Russian dancer in Paris 1890s (another photo has a costume with a snake or vine going up her right leg)
Mariette Sully why are you in a cage? Shakespeare somehow
Eve Lavalliere in “La Belle Helene” as d’Alceste - first woman in men’s clothes? (in the albums, I meant, though I don’t know they’re always numbered in chronological order)
Worked out which year this album was made - Eve Lavalliere, Leonie Yahne and Marie Labounskaya were all in productions in Paris in 1899, so it must’ve been then - La Belle Helene, Petit Chagrin and Le Tzigane, respectively.
