As promised, tagging @hamelin-born and @ertrunkenerwassergeist
So, when thinking about writing Regis, especially during the last years of his reign I try to keep one thing in mind:
Regis is, at his core, somebody who has given up.
Yeah, I know, how could I say something so controversial.
Well, let's not keep you in the dark.
Prince Regis and his support circle
(Or rather, the lack of thereof.)
We know very, very little about Regis' childhood so I have to extrapolate based on what canon info we have about Noctis.
And none of this is promising. Because it looks like for most of his childhood, his friends consisted of Clarus and Weskham. There is the one mention of knowing Aulea back then, but not much detail of how they met or how their relationship looked like. While he presumably met other noble children, there would always be that undercurrent of politics to any interactions, which isn't exactly conductive to healthy relationships. Not with the chasm between their respective social ranks.
(It exists even in his interactions with his Retinue, too, for all that they manage to forget it most of the time)
Then comes the Road Trip, with Cor dragged along and Cid who joins to keep eye on those goddamn rich city kids. Honestly, that might be the happiest time in Regis' life. He has minimal responsibilities, he's not under constant scrutiny from everyone and he has people who genuinely like him for him around himself. Life looks good, even with the war on the horizon.
And then comes Accordo and Altissia, and the failed treaty negotiations.
And then Weskham leaves.
A lot of people headcanon that Wesk stayed in Accordo to funnel information to Insomnia and act as a Lucian representative to Accordo's government. Whether that's true or not, the fact is that he was unlikely to consistently keep in touch with Regis. Not with how closely all communication channels would be monitored as the war heated up. By necessity, their friendship becomes a distant one at best.
So that's one of Regis' people gone from his life. Cid is the second one to leave him, this time entirely of his own choice.
While there are no actual specifics, the timing makes it clear that Cid was not happy with Mors pulling back the Wall and the Royal Family's policy on the refugees thereafter. Which is a polite way of saying "they left people to fend for themselves". What we don't know is how Regis reacted to it. Did he think his father had to have good reasons? Did he disagreed with him but couldn't think of anything he could do to improve things? Did he agree with Mors wholeheartedly? Either way, Cid storms out of the Citadel and Insomnia, eventually settles down in Hammerhead and, as far as we know, does not see Regis ever again.
(And there is that one hint from Cor how Cid was still angry that Regis kept secrets and refused to confide in his friends. But that's for later.)
Post-coronation and his marriage
(Or, his social circle still isn't great)
So here they are in the year 729 of Modern Era, with one friend on the other side of the world and another currently very pissed off at them, when Mors dies and leaves Regis running Lucis.
Regis is all of 23.
I don't know about you but I wouldn't leave a 23-years-old charge of a local retail shop. Nevermind the entire fucking country. Unfortunately, Regis does not have the luxury of leaving the job to somebody else, so he puts on his big boy boots and the fancy crown, and gets to work.
And there's a lot of work.
We have next to nothing about Mors and his reign, but what we do have points to a person more interested in the results than the means used to achieve them, which is never good attitude in somebody who has absolute authority over other people. It's bound to piss off people in all social strata and create some short-term "solutions" in exchange for a lot of long-term problems. I suspect Regis spent a lot of his early years as a king placating nobles and unfucking his father's various messes with Clarus and Cor's help.
Not that Cor would have been much of a help, being freshly 18 himself - ageism is very firmly alive in politics, even fictional ones - and still a reckless little shit at his heart. For Regis, Cor is firmly a little brother figure - somebody to guide and teach and protect, and to entrust important missions to once he's a little older, but not somebody Regis can rely on to support him.
(Regis never loses this mindset. Not even after Cor has been his Marshall for years. In the end, Cor is never told about the real prophecy, is sent away before the Invasion begins.)
With Clarus busy with work and Cor not suitable, Regis would have to look to somebody else for emotional support. Enter Aulea. Around this time, their relationship shifts from friends to actual courtship and then to a marriage in 732 ME. Finally, Regis has someone who isn't his subordinate and doesn't need to be kept at arms length, who is actually his equal, who he can confide in and rely on, and be happy with. His best friend's also gotten married recently and had a little boy. Life is looking great!
And then Noctis is born and Aulea dies.
(There's a lot of IRL research about how men rely almost entirely on their wives for emotional support, and how badly they cope once it's gone.)
Noctis as the Chosen One
And then we come to this cluster fuck of a prophecy.
Because Regis learns his son is going to die.
Because there's nothing he can do to change it.
Because how do you defy a god?
(You don't. Not on your own)
But there's more!
Not only is his son going to die very painfully, first the world has to be plunged into complete darkness for who knows how long. Demons will run everywhere and people will struggle to survive. In the end, Eos will be devastated and Lucis is not guaranteed to survive.
That's bound to influence his decisions, and not always consciously.
Like, we know Noctis had an unprecedented amount of freedom for a Crown Prince, going to a normal high school, having commoner friend and living outside of the Citadel. Going by his complete unfamiliarity with life outside of Insomnia (he didn't know what a gil was) and not recognising Ardyn (a high ranking member of foreign court), I would say he also didn't receive much of a training that would be expected of a prince.
(It's not like he's going to rule anything, ever)
Then there's how that knowledge would affect Regis and his policies.
Oh, I don't think he actually realised that but. Why would he try to improve anything if it's all going to be destroyed anyway? Why bother to fix the system, it's not like it's broken, it works correctly?
(It's not working correctly. It's very much broken and rotting under his feet. He just can't see that from his place at the top.)
What does it have to do with Galahdians?
Freaking everything.
Starting with Mors' shitty refugee policies that likely never were repelled in full, through the fact that Regis likely had to make a lot of concessions to nobles to secure his reign, to his negligence of and ignorance about the issues arising among the lowest classes.
After all, corrupt officials will not suddenly decide to stop on their own. They can and will only get worse, because they feel more and more untouchable with every stolen yen and every bribe taken.
And resentment builds up.

Random headcannons for FFXV in general, because I would love to know more about it, and there is not enough info for my gremlin brain.
Galadh:
- I kinda see clan Lazarus like those who deal with foreign policy. Also lot of Lazaruses married non-galadhian, they just loves other cultures. (They are still loyal to Galadh)
- Galadh is in my opinion similiar to the Greek islands. Mainly few big ones and then lot of small ones. There is a definitively volcano.
- Galadh is also known for its natural hot springs. Glaives definitively were chilling there.
- Galadh officially worships Astrals, Ramuh and Leviathan are the main protectors. There is also a very strong bond with the ancestors.
- Clans have totem animals. (Ulrics have coeurl, Arras have sabertusk, Ostiums have kujata, ...)
- A beautiful legend is attached to it´s origin. Once upon a time, during a great disaster, there were a few animals that went to help humans to survive it. But in the process they have died themselves. Their human friends wheeped to Astrals about this woe. They heard their plea and united the man with the animal.
Random:
- Regis remembers all names and faces of his employes
- Clarus hair fell out during stress from both of his idiots. The idiots in question are Regis and Cor
- Cor and Titus are actually good friends who are little shits together  (Glaives and guards are dreading those days when two of them are together)
- There is annual boot camp where glaives and guards measure their forces
- Luche either doesn´t sleep at all or is having short power naps during day. He´s got nightmares about Galadh and his fallen comrades.
- Nyx hair and beard grows super fast, he needs to shave it at least every three days. He tries to shave it when deployed, but Nyx just gave up after that.
- Tredd´s got younger brother who is still in Galadh. Their relationship is sadly very complicated. But Tredd always sends him a birthday card nonethless.
- Axis is great at bargaining prices at the market, also always picks the juiciest vegetables/fruits. (I believe this is some kind of superpower)
- Sonitus has sharp teeth (they looks like shark ones), he can open cans with it or beers.
- Pelna plays exceptionaly guitar and ukulele. Sometimes brings it to Yamachang for a spin.
- Libertus is suprisingly good singer when he gets little bit of alcohol into his system. Everyone always shut up and listens when Lib starts to sing. (Usually galadh tunes)
- Crowe loves to go on night ride with her motorcycle. Has favourite spot where she can see whole Insomnia. Usually sends gang a random photos she took on the way.
- Titus favourite place to relax is at top of Citadel at night. The night sky is breathtaking. He usually brings some alcohol to drink his sorrows and regrets away.

I like to imagine sometimes that Regis and Noctis get just one health day together. Regis’s knee sucks, Noctis’s back and knee also sucks, and then there’s the general life-sucking nonsense that comes with their magic - not to mention the pain that has to come with holding up the wall…
Regis probably wouldn’t want Noctis to see him like that, in pain, when Noctis knows his father is literally slowly dying. Noctis probably wouldn’t want to add the burden to his father’s shoulders - he’s not the one shielding an entire city and fighting a war after all (and oh, the mental anguish this could cause-)
But sometimes, just sometimes, when the pain isn’t too bad, but just bad enough-
Chronic pain bonding. Heated blankets, pads, and water bottles. Reading books aloud or playing a mobile game together or something. Or nap time. Nap time is always nice.
Just. Let Regis and Noctis be father and son.
Not King and Prince, nations instead of people.
Father and son, two hurting people helping the other to hurt less.

A bit of crack for Child of Mors: A List of Things Found In Mors' Desks (Ongoing Project)
*cackles*
There's lists going around among Regis and co and some historians on what the weirdest things found in those desks are. Here's some of the highlights:
a Cosmogony with so many annotations basically nothing is readable anymore
a shard of the Crystal (Regis will craft that one into a Carbuncle figurine for Noctis)
drafts for an indoor fishing place because Regis likes fishing
drawings Regis did as a toddler
picture of Mors's Shield Machaerad, cheeks puffed up like a chipmunk from eating so many Ulwaat berries at once
biography notes for one Augura Lucis Caelum (She was an older sister to a King and restored lost art. She got banished by her nephew for not conforming to his cultural reformations.)
carefully written and annotated profiles of possible wives for Regis (the last profile added was of Aulea, on which Mors simply wrote 'he will marry her')
a letter in an unknown language
a humongous picture book about Solheimr reliefs, also annotated by Mors
3 rocks
a lock of red hair so dark it nearly looks black
a love letter to Fabricas Lucis Caelum, the female King of Lucis who restructured the whole city and upon whose plans the modern city was build
a hate letter to Fabricas Lucis Caelum, the female King of Lucis who restructured the whole city and upon whose plans the modern city was build
stickfigure sketches ridiculing prominent nobles
a sheet of paper simply reading 'WHAT THE FUCK????' written by Mors and in pink glitter pen
tax forms with dicks drawn all over them
sticky notes full of insults directed at Bahamut
a letter to Bahamut apologising for those insults

Final Fantasy XV Rant
OK!!!! So I finally finished playing Final Fantasy XV as I had tried to play it multiple times over the years on different systems, but life always got in the way of me finishing it. Even now, I didn't play the game for almost a year before I finally finished it last night....and I have a few things to say...
I CANNOT BELIEVE THOSE FREAKING GODS! I am a huge fan of Percy Jackson, so when the game began mentioning gods and prophecies, I was like "OKAY BITCHES! LET'S SEE HOW WE CAN FIGHT IT!" nope....you can't change the fate of Noctis Lucis Caelum.....*Cue sad face*
Noctis and Luna need all the love and affection in the world. I will happily fight anyone and everyone to somehow travel to the beyond to make sure they get cuddles and snuggles and hugs and love.
Prompto's backstory is probably my favorite next to Ardyn's - I will get to him in a minute. That blonde boy needs to be protected with every power available. He did not deserve what happened to him, and I am glad he was able to befriend Noctis, Gladiolus, and Ignis.
Aranea is hot, and you cannot tell me otherwise....FIGHT ME!
Ardyn did not deserve to be duped like that. He was freaking healer! HE WAS HELPING PEOPLE! Those stupid gods totally set him up when they blessed him...who wants to join me to go rip them a new one on Ardyn's behalf?
Sooooo as you can see....I may be a little too emotionally invested in this game....as a result I now have lots of ideas of what to do. Fics, imagines, and headcanons will be coming soon y'all!

I’ve been rotating this idea over and over in my head but since I’m prone to genderbending fandoms I like or looking through the lens of their struggles in being transgender but -
How would the Royal Bastard or All the Bastards AU work if Regis was a woman?
One headcanon i personally have is that, in regards to Lucis Caelum women who love another women, the magic of the bloodline sort of adapted? So that a child could still potentially be conceived???
If they were to sleep with someone, and then that person slept with a man, part of the LC’s magic is sort of imprinted on them/their body - and if their fertile/ovulating/whatever, their magic is also imprinted on said egg.
Via wishy-washy Magic, regardless of the father, that baby is a Lucis Caelum and has two moms now, oops. The magic goes “Mine Now”. (My thought process is that, if Noctis can break down items to make poison elemental flasks, the magic literally mimicking the effect, then the magic can also mimic dna or something like that. Is six in the morning now and I didn’t sleep, so coherency is beyond me).
Alternatively, a more romantic (?) idea is of the couple’s body pressed tightly together - and through a sort of phenomenon like sharing one’s magic with another person, the Lucis Caelum imparts one of their eggs (I don’t know, warping? Ritual magic?? Unitentional Magic??? Maybe they have a breeding kink) into their partners body.
Just, bodies wrapped around each other and heads pressed together, and maybe - if they’re able to get married (or maybe barred from getting married) and wistfully talking of childbearing (if that’s something they want, looking into surrogates, what that might mean for the line of succession if they’re Crown whatever, etc, etc) - just pining for something that might be out of reach.
I don’t know maybe this is all science and weird, but the idea wouldn’t stop plaguing me so I dragged it here to drop at your inbox.
Sorry for writing so much, so I’ll end it here. If read this all the way through, have a cookie for reading this mess of sleep-deprived rambles.
🍪
(I am now the cookie anon. You get all of the cookies).
VERY INTERESTING if there is one thing I’m interested in its Gender Fuckery and Fuckery with Gender so I’m all here for Lady Regis
Also now I REALLY WANNA write a reveal thing with lady Regis who knew that there were some stories of queer couples in her bloodline being able to have children but didn’t think much of it until Ace shows up
Ace: uh
Regis: *error 113 queen not found*

➤ HEADCANON : RELATIONSHIPS .
Tumblr media
i've been meaning to write up this headcanon for some time now ! i really wanted to dig into noctis's relationships , how i view each one individually , and how he views the people closest to him in his life . for the sake of general interaction outside of ship partners or biases , there will be no mention of romantic attraction here ( perhaps with the exception of lunafreya because they have an arranged marriage in canon , but i'll keep it limited ) .
starting off , i want to say that noctis is a very dynamic character and how he interacts with people strongly depends on how they interact with him ( which i think is true for most people , haha ) . however , i think noctis is very feeling and often acts in accordance with his emotions , or lack thereof , depending on the circumstance . all this to say , some things listed may seem contradictory , but let's remember that noctis is Just A Guy , feelings are fluid , and everything is dependent on everything else . i'm going to organize this in a list - like manner to keep things more simple . i'm also not going to include EVERY single character ( even tho i strongly wish to .. i might do a part 2 with some of the more side characters down the line ) .
note : some interactions may shift depending on a rp partners portrayal / canon divergencies / general opinions . this material is crafting from my own headcanons and opinions , but i am willing to plot in different directions .
tw : parental death !!! long post incoming !
REGIS LUCIS CAELUM : noctis has always admired his father , looking up to him for as long as he can remember . he remembers yearning for his attention , but ultimately feeling as though he came second to his father's kingly duties . despite it , he always loved him . regis would read or tell noctis bed time stories ( along with aulea , until her passing when he was eight years old ) until he was thirteen years old , when noctis waved him off in an effort to "grow up" , but secretly missed the time they'd spent together before bed each night . this is also when his insomnia first started to become apparent . i think regis desperately tried to make time for noctis , and is the one who taught noctis to fish in the pond behind the citadel . taught him to drive in the car manufactured specifically for him , taught him that truly living is the most important prospect in life , to take care of business , but also to take care of himself ( some lessons of which he certainly casted aside ) . still , regis let him get away with things and do things he normally would not due to his knowledge of his son's inevitable demise . he desperately wanted noctis to be able to live his life in a way that was meaningful and full of joy . noctis's dealings with expectation , societal pressure , and depression had other plans . noctis loved him , before and after his passing , and always will . despite this , there is always a shallow bit of resentment he holds for his father : that they did not spend enough time together , that he did not learn the lessons he needed to survive as king , that he felt scared and alone so often in the citadel with a father nowhere to be found . his childhood beneath regis was not perfect , and he often felt discarded despite regis's best efforts . perhaps it comes with the territory , noctis understands after accepting his duty as king , but it does not negate his feelings on the matter . he is also angry in general , that his father was taken from him before he could learn all that it is he wished to learn ( though , truthfully , he thinks to himself that there's nothing that could have prepared him for the way of the world and bahamut's plans ) . i also believe that during noctis's teenage years , he began to reject his father for his priorities and viewed regis letting noctis get away with certain things as a lack of care , as he is not aware that regis is aware of the prophecy . he interprets it as an unwillingness to be his parent and puts a wall between the two of them , and becomes cruelly independent from him , relying more so on his friends than his father . it's part of the reason he also rejects his duty as prince/king , because he does not 'want to end up as his father . ' of course , this whole viewpoint shifts as he grows and matures more into himself , but there was a time when they hardly spoke . regis , letting noctis grow into adulthood and allowing him the space he craved , and noctis , craving his affection and attention , but distancing himself further from him despite it . they had their ups and downs for sure . (maybe i should have made the regis section its own post ummm)
AULEA LUCIS CAELUM : my headcanon for aulea is canon divergent , as in canon , she dies when noctis is an infant , and they were never able to spend much time together . in my portrayal , aulea lives until noctis is eight years old , and dies in the same daemon attack that injured his back and sent him into a comatose state . i think she was a very dedicated woman , to her role as queen , to her work , and to her family . noctis relied on her often for emotional support , and she did her damn best to be there for him when regis could not , though , noctis still spent a decent amount of time being cared for by the maids and hired caretakers he did not know very well , and did not like . despite that , they cherished each other greatly , and aulea taught him many things herself . many of the things he learned from her were things like empathy , understanding , nurturing ( even as bad as he is at it currently . i think he was really good at putting those things into practice before the daemon incident and her demise ) . she is the reason he has such a soft heart beneath his wishy washy exterior . she is the reason he loves so strongly and wholeheartedly . he also always admired the relationship between herself and regis , even if he , at times , felt excluded from them . he decided he wanted to experience a relationship like theirs , were the time to ever come .
LUNAFREYA NOX FLEURET : lunafreya starts off as a good friend to noctis during his healing stay in tenebrae . after he awakens from his coma , she meets him and they become close . sharing stories , books , secrets , and adventures through his healing journey . i think having luna there beside him was the only thing that made his rehabilitation manageable . he was often miserable and hurting , but he looked forward to her visits every day , and thought of her every night . she gave him a familiar comfort , an understanding , and an ear that listened to him after his mom's passing . that event reshaped the entire way that noctis approached life and himself , and she was the first person to get to know him after the fact , with no pre-conceived notions or expectations of who he is or how he should act . he felt at home with her , until niflheim had ripped them asunder . as he has been aware , tenebrae does not have technology in the way that lucis or , more specifically , insomnia , does . they could not communicate but through letters , but his way with words eludes him most often . this lead to their maintaining contact through their shared notebook , noctis's sticker collecting habit ( as he learned luna enjoys stickers ) , and his short sentences scribbled beneath a cute sticker he thought she might enjoy . big life events were written about vaguely ( with the knowledge that the book could be found and read by the empire ) , but for the most part , he kept things between them simple . he has always valued her presence in his life . into adulthood , i think they both continuously grew in different directions , despite always cherishing the other and maintaining what little contact they were able . when the treaty is announced and noctis hears of his arranged marriage to lunafreya , i know it throws him for a loop . he has always cared for her , but to not speak to someone for a decade and then be thrown into a world in which you must marry is daunting . he's thankful it's to her and not a stranger or someone else , but i think he really gets confused about his romantic feelings for her , and as they develop , has a hard time deciphering if they exist because he is forcing them to , or if he has genuine feelings for her . i think it all hits the moment he sees her giving her speech in altissia , and i think he can truly imagine a life with her , but the expectations and pressures of it all are so overwhelmingly unmanageable . he has had to re-evaluate the love he has for her time and time again , and while eventually he does realize the extent of his romantic feelings for her , it did not come without chaos and confusion .
GLADIOLUS AMICITIA : so , gladio and noctis have not always has the best relationship , as depicted in the animated mini series : ffxv brotherhood . gladio taught noctis to fight , and had training sessions with him several days a week , though it was not anything he'd considered more than his duty as future shield . this was a job and nothing more . gladio did not like noctis , his childlike attitude , or his willingness to give up . noctis knew gladio did not like him and often dreaded their training sessions , knowing he'd be bested no matter how hard he tried , in turn , viewing the training as a waste of his time . after the iris incident ( when noctis lied to protect her , taking the brunt of the blame for something she did ) and gladio found out , their dynamic shifted . gladio started to develop a respect for him he did not have prior and noctis felt it too . because of this , noctis started taking gladio and their training more seriously and the two were able to bond through physical battle and practice . they started sharing more conversations , but i think gladio has always had a way with giving noctis advice and "lectures" that noctis often considered a bit condescending ( albeit , at times , welcome ) . their relationship at this point goes so deep and i think they understand each other in that way that needs no words . they know each others movements , the fluctuations in their voices , and their body language . they're both similarly stubborn and manage to butt heads a lot , but carry immense respect for the other , and they both have a special place in their heart for each other . they have a closeness and a trust where they aren't afraid to lash out at each other . they know the other can and will take it , and that they'll remain at each other's sides despite it .
IGNIS SCIENTIA : ignis and noctis share a bond that goes beyond ordinary friendship , and they trust each other with their lives . ignis was deemed noctis's advisor at age six , making noctis three years old at the time . their fate and friendship was decided for them , and ignis has been dedicated to him for as long as they've known each other . noctis has known ignis for as long as he can remember , and he values him with great intensity . i think ignis's devotion to noctis goes beyond noctis's understanding , despite him being aware that it exists . at times , it troubles him , knowing how much ignis would do for him , knowing that the way ignis loves is through his actions , through his sacrifices , and noctis has never doubted his devotion to his job . i'm sure he's been through some phases where he convinces himself that the reason ignis takes his wellbeing so seriously is because it's part of his job , and not solely because he cares about noctis as a friend . though , when he's of a more rational mind , he does not doubt their friendship through such lenses . he knows and trusts ignis wholeheartedly . as a teenager , he often argued against ignis , as the advisor just wanted what was best for noctis , but noctis wanted to do things his way regardless of their benefit or consequence . as they grow older , noctis appreciates him more earnestly and through his twenties , while he can still have a gripe or two here and there , he cherishes his dear friend . it's into his thirties , though , (or after the time skip , depending on the verse) that he really really values all of ignis's hardship , care , and self - sacrifice . he begins to understand ignis's love and devotion , he accepts it , and wishes to stand beside him . to take care of himself , so that ignis does not have to , but he will never forget all of the things he has done for him . in a verse where they both live through the ending , i think noctis's display of appreciation for ignis and his general interactions with him change drastically ( mostly for the better , depending on your view ) .
PROMPTO ARGENTUM : prompto means so much to noctis because he is his friend because he wants to be . he has no obligation tying him to noctis or his princehood , he simply ... decided he wanted to be his friend . and noctis appreciated that more than anything in the world . prompto and noctis are the same age and went through schooling together and have a lot of cherished memories , and noctis values his fun - loving and dramatic attitude , but also values their more serious moments of vulnerability and care . prompto is someone he can just simply be himself around . he does not have to worry about prying eyes , different opinions , complicated expectations . prompto just feels like home to him , and he brings noctis genuine joy when they spend time together . he feels value at his side , not as royalty , not as noctis lucis caelum , but as noct . he trusts him with his vulnerable side , though he may not show it much . he can escape the pressure of the world with him , laugh , and goof off . his mere friendship is a relief for him , and he loves to spend time at his side . i think they had a lot of small moments together when they'd hang out in their secondary school days , and his presence brought so much joy and addition to noctis's life that he wanted him to join on the roadtrip , and through that , they bonded so much more . he knows prompto from primary school , but assumed he was uninterested in befriending him . after all , it wasn't as if he didn't attract unwanted attention . and prompto didn't seem the type to want a lot of that sort of attention , so he left it alone . he hadn't a clue that prompto took it upon himself to 'prove himself' and would have loved to his friend despite his looks or personality . a person who wanted to be friends with noctis for noctis , he'd appreciate no matter what . being around prompto truly brings him back to himself when all of life seems to be pulling him in separate directions .

Public vs private knowledge ( Pokémon verse )
Note: any worldbuilding details here are open to discussion to better meld with your headcanons!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Public knowledge ( information everyone can know )
Noctis Lucis Caelum is the son of Galarian King Regis Lucis Caelum, and heir apparent to the Galarian throne. This makes him a public figure.
The Lucis Caelum lineage is descended from the original Galarian king that worked with Zacian and Zamazenta to end the Darkest Day.
Noct's lineage shares in some of the same abilities Zacian possesses. He can materialize a spectral version of the Rusted Sword out of thin air and warp to wherever he ( or Zacian if present ) throws it.
Noctis has an Aegislash named Ultima, a Kingdra named Reine, a shiny Kingambit named Magnus, and depending on the point in his timeline, an Umbreon named Umbra.
The royal family has had the same Magearna in its care for generations. Their name is Astra, and Noctis will inherit them along with the throne when the time comes ( or has already inherited them, depending on the point on the timeline ).
Noctis is engaged to Kalosian nobility, Princess Lunafreya Nox Fleuret.
At age eight, Noctis briefly spent time in Kalos to recover from a near-fatal injury.
Noct has a Dynamax Band as well as a Key Stone given to him by Lunafreya during his time in Kalos. His Key Stone is fashioned into a ring.
Noctis attended public school in Wyndon in addition to lessons from private tutors.
Noct has an apartment in Wyndon in addition to his own quarters with the royal family.
Noctis is currently traveling Galar with his royal entourage.
Noct's Rotomphone is a custom make that only the royal family and the kingsguard use.
Zacian is said to occasionally appear wherever Noctis is.
Noct's favorite pastime is fishing. He fished Reine up himself.
Noct hates vegetables and has a sweet tooth.
Sordward and Shielbert are totally unaffiliated with the Lucis Caelum lineage. Noct has no clue who they are. Rule of funny.
Tumblr media
Semi-private knowledge ( information select groups know )

Noctis can understand Zacian and Zamazenta. This ability only extends to these two legendaries.
He can also talk to crystals and "living areas" — essentially their essence.
Noctis has a covenant with Zacian that enables Zacian to know when Noctis is in danger and appear in times of peril.
Noctis never fully recovered from his injury; he can't tap into his link with Zacian to the full extent that Regis can.

NAME OF YOUR MUSE: Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum, The Chosen King
ONE PICTURE YOU LIKE:
Tumblr media
TWO HEADCANONS YOU HAVE FOR YOUR MUSE YOU NEVER TOLD ANYONE:
Noctis is not very strong when it comes to his immune system. He’s sure to keep himself healthy, but after being infected with the StarScourge and all the troubles he’s had, sickness is drawn to him. As such he’s a clean freak to a point. He’s not a germaphobe, but he makes sure his person is clean.
Noctis is far smarter than they portray in the game. Yes he is young and slacks off, but he is a prince. He has received one of the single most impressive schoolings in the whole of Insomnia, if not the world. Ignis is smarter than he is, but they tend to specialize in different things.
THREE THINGS THAT YOUR MUSE LIKES DOING IN THEIR FREE TIME:
Listening to the world. Often times he sleeps, but sometimes he is just listening to how different things are around him. Outside the city is far different than what he is used to, and just listening to what the people who live out here worry about is interesting to him. Noctis is also a quiet guy, shy to a fault and tends not to speak much. So he still listens to his friends talk around him a bit more than he himself speaks.
Listening to music. Noctis has learned to play a few different instruments, one of the only things he could do when sitting in a wheelchair for hours on end. Piano is one he’d love to play again, but given he can only carry what he had on him, listening to it and imagining what it would be like to play it is all he can manage while on the road.
Fishing. For obvious reasons as it gives him a way to relax, but its one thing that he has to remember his father by. They went fishing when he was little, and though they spent less and less time together as he got older, on his or his father’s birthdays they would go fishing. Being able to do it now reminds him of his father. Its a coping mechanism for him.
SEVEN PEOPLE THAT YOUR MUSE LOVES/CONSIDERS AS IMPORTANT:
Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto are three. These three hold him together and keep him happy, and they are some of the only people he had left. When their home is burning and they are on the run from Nifs and Lucians alike, Noctis would ask them if they wanted out of their Crownsguard service. Their adamant refusal to abandon him is something he will never forget.
Regis was a very obviously important person to him. As his father and one of the only people that cared for him when he was a cripple, and believed that he would recover, the man meant far more to him than he could ever speak of. Hearing that he died in the fall of Insomnia left a hole in his heart that will never be filled by anyone else.
Cindy and Cid are two people that he does care greatly for, Cid like the grandfather he never had and Cindy a dear friend that he would absolutely give anything to keep safe. She’s kind and has done nothing but try to help them with anything they needed. The two have given him a whole lot when he had nothing.
Cor is a like a gift from his father, one last thing to keep him safe and help him in his new rule. The marshal is someone he knows he can call on when he has no course of action left, and will support him if he needs it.
Luna, while not someone he cares for romantically, she is much like a sister to him. She and her brother Ravus do mean the world to him, even though it was technically his fault that they lost her mother, he would never want to fight them like he had to with Ravus. Luna’s death is a harsh blow that he doesn’t recover from quickly. He wasn’t fast enough, and that is why she died, in his mind at least.
ONE OR TWO THINGS YOUR MUSE REGRETS:
Not saying a proper good bye to his father before he left. It was the last time he saw him, and he didn’t live much longer after that. What he wouldn’t give to go back and give his father a hug and tell him just how much he meant.
Going out to catch fireflies. It would have saved his father no small amount of worry and stress. Even after he woke back up, he was subjected to his father’s care and attention more so than his duties perhaps allowed.
TWO PHOBIAS/FEARS YOUR MUSE HAS:
Failure. Letting down everyone that depends on him. Being a poor king. Letting the world fall into darkness because he dies before he can solve the issues that he was born to solve.
Abandonment. His father is dead. His mother is dead. Most of those who helped shape him into the person he is today are dead. The few that he have left mean so much to him, and he’s worried that they might find him lacking in some way and leave him. It is part of the reason he works so hard to ensure they are always happy.

Would you be willing to do headcanons for drautos having a secret relationship with the princess of Lucis-Au- and dealing with being glauca at the same time :3! I’m so happy to find someone who’s still writing for kingsglaive lol
OMG YES! Titus is like my guilty pleasure, so 😉 Just warning, It will be bittersweet ( so basically I am taking canon end)
For clarification, you Y/N Lucis Caelum are older sibling of Noctis ( I want Noct to have older sibling who will protect him)
Titus much to his disdain trains you, because and I will quote Y/N “ Who can teach me better other than captain of mighty Kingsglaive?”  Smooth move, my lady.
You are warm and very flirty toward him. Seriously you showed in him genuine interest. Like what´s his favourite drink, was he ever to ballet, that politician is such asshole, wouldn´t you say?
Dont kill me ladies  His first though as Glauca is how it could benefit him in his plans. But as Titus he´s like why would you go for some old and broken wardog?
At first the relationship with you was just another backup plan If the first one failed. (Kidnap you and demand abdication from Regis)
You and Noctis are fine in his book, but he will still not hesitate to harm you as Glauca in the first stage
You are taking him around Lucis on your secret dates like to Little Galadh (where you met his glaives, it was interesting night to say the least)
The moment he realised that relationship with you went out of control was when they came back from front line bruised and bloodied
You´ve got into their headquarters despite protests from nobles, and helped them with healing. One of the Kingsglaive died on his injuries, and you blamed yourself for that, you even cryed for them
Titus was taken a back with how gentle and humanly you were treating his glaives, not like foreingers but equal to you.
And then you came to him, checking his injuries and apologesing for not doing enough to stop this war
Something in Titus snapped at that moment. You weren´t just another obstacle in his plan, he genuinly cared for your well being. I would even say that he fell in love with you!
But of course he´s Glauca, and that´s a massive problem. So Titus started to be distant and cold
He didn't last long with this attitude cuz you went obviously confront him about it. It was heated argument “But I love you, you idiot! I want to be there for you in every circumstance, so please don´t shut me down.“  You went on your toes to kiss him. In his mind Glauca was shouting to end this thing here and now. But for once in his life, he´s speechless at your outburst and your bold move. Hesitantly he wraps his arms around you and kiss you gently back.
Titus knows he can´t go back with you, you charmed him and he´s ready to burn a world for you ... Yet he can´t take back his decisions as Glauca
The fateful day of signing was here, and Titus did everything in his power to get you out of the city. You were suspicious of what was going on, but Titus with Regis´s help conviced you to go with your brother. Titus gave you an envelope with words to open it later.
Titus knew when he fighted that either Nyx will kill him or the starscourge in his body, thanks to Glauca´s armor.
When Nyx delivered that fatal blow, you were on Titus mind the whole time. His light in the darkness.
When you opened the envelope, tears were streaming down your face. There was a simple ring with small Y/F/C stone and on the letter were written four simple words: I love you, Y/N

My back has been a bitch for the last several days, which makes for Noctis angst, I guess.
Long story short for several of my headcanons that I am Too Lazy to write out at the moment, Noctis got starscourge when the Marilith attacked and Sylva, while healing him, essentially burned the scourge away with her powers.
(I have a whole thing about Oracle’s powers being able to heal wounds, while generally non-Oracle Fleuret’ simply bolster the body’s healing, not to mention male Fleuret having magic predisposed to combat and being known as Templars, and a whole things on male Oracles despite canon -)
Thing is, the starscourge sort of merges with magic. We see it in Ardyn, he’s not like others who outright become daemons and he can still use his magic (at least, the Armiger, if not elemancy and healing). Similarly, in DOTF, Lunafreya mentions something about the power of the Oracle holding the effect of the ‘scourge back (which Ravus, as a man, doesn’t have-).
SO.
The starscourge literally merging with his magic, his body trying to adapt and push it back and the strain, on top of injuries he’s already had, is killing him and -
On top of burning out the scourge, Sylva is frying parts of Noctis’ magic. Pruning it away, almost, like dead or moldy branches of rose bush in order to save the whole. And it’s agony in a way that healing of the Oracle isn’t meant to be (at least, not for anyone but the Oracle-)
I once read a really interesting post on the effects of starscourge on Noctis’s magic, and how it compares to how members of the kingsglaive and even Regis use magic (example being you don’t see many people using the flasks seen on Noctis in-game).
But, I was thinking, what if Noctis could use magic as he should normally be capable off, but at a cost.
When you’re a Lucis Caelum, everything comes at a cost.
It’s excruciating, it’s difficult, just like re-learning to warp after he’d been able to do so by years by simply sneezing was. Frustrating, even humiliating (if one paid attention to the private scorn of nobles and others behind closed doors or in corners of rooms -)
He was once able to light his fingertips aflame like candle wicks, building palaces of snow and ice, and craft miniature storms without so much as an idle thought - but doing so after the Marilith, after Tenebrae -
It’s a raw, searing pain that cuts straight through muscle tissue and bone. It feels as though his blood is boiling, bubbling, the ceaseless flow of molten rock scorching everything in it’s path, his back tearing open beneath the sharpened steel of a blade’s edge over and over again.
It’s not the pull of his life force being pulled away to make what is dead more tangible to the living, like swinging the royal arms - imprints of his ancestor’s souls - around. It’s not like the total exhaustion and feverish state that follows summoning an Astral (or an astral using him as a tether to the land in moment’s of peril).
It’s energy, so much of it, a physical weight on his shoulders and under his skin, and there’s still traces of the late Oracle-Queen’s touch and the starscourge’s corruption and it burns.
(As magic does, as it has always done-)
Then there’s the lack of control over his powers following the attack, how much a ‘magic fit’ hurts when he does lose control, how he has to bottle it up and probably still does in the future because of how badly it hurts, and what little control he does regain (i.e weaving Magic and elements and storing it in flasks).
Just. Noctis not being able to utilize his powers to the full extent, like the Kingsglaive, like his father. It’s not because it’s gone, or because he hadn’t recovered from the scourge (as much as recovery was possible-)
It’s agonizing, it’s damn near uncontrollable past what he was able to relearn and grasp. And when he does use it, does lose control- it’s even worse.
His flasks, which detonate on impact with a target, while not controllable once cast - they are predictable. Those with him, once outside the radish of the blast, are safe.
With his magic, if he lets his control slip in the pain, theres not an estimated radius, a safe space to retreat to - and losing control of it is arguably more dangerous than losing control of a flask. It’s not a blast, but a wave that encroaches on everyone and everything around if allowed to.
And I already have a general post on Lucis Caelum Magic. Noctis is in a shitty situation, basically. Damned if you do (use magic) and damned if you don’t.
TLDR:
Noctis is able to use magic outside of the flasks, outside of the warping and phasing he utilizes on. He is able to use the raw elements and heal like the Kingsglaive, like his father - but it’s excruciatingly painful for him because of lasting Starscourge/Oracle damage, think of scar tissue, and easy to lose control of.
While recovering, before and after Tenebrae, he did lose control on occasion and the additional pain he was in afterwards was…not pretty. Neither was the zone of destruction. So Noctis has to also hold it in, keep tabs on it, and the build-up of magical energy is equally bad for him.

Headcanon that all those puzzles were gifted to Mors by his Shield. Because if he's busy with the puzzles then he's at least not turning his paperwork into origami in a fit of boredom. (It was only marginally helpful)
Also, you posted some stuff about Mors but what about Regis' mother?
That is a wonderful headcanon ^_^
Regis's mother is called Clara Lucis Caelum née Trutina. Her marriage with Mors was an arranged one. A deal made between her father and Mors's mother, who was the ruling monarch before him.
Personally, I headcanon Mors to be asexual and not interested in sex. He was very bitter about having to marry and produce an heir. It soured his relationship with Clara from the beginning. They were never close.
Clara loved Regis, but she was also a conservative noble, so she was never as close with her son as she could have been. She regretted this when Regis got older. He did not pull away from her, but never came too close to begin with.
Regis inherited her eyes. Clara was very tall and willowy with dark brown hair that was cut provocatively short for a noble/royal woman of her time. (It's really the only aspect in which she left behind the conservative mold she cast herself in.)
I think, if she hadn't had to marry Mors, she would have been quite free spirited.
