Every time i think about Noctis stuck in the crystal, being shown the memories of his ancestors, I also think of him living, in the span of ten years, the two thousand Ardyn spent in isolation plus what he did after he was freed.
Because Ardyn is still as much of a Lucis Caelum as Somnus and the rest of his descendants, and his magic is his memory, and the crystal carries that memory too.
Two thousand years spanning the lifetime of his direct - and possibly indirect - family descended of Somnus. Two thousand years of Ardyn’s isolation, and his descent into madness because Niflheim (read: besithia) really only made him worse and didn’t get him help.
@sparklecryptid, thoughts on a time traveling Noctis in this state returning to before shit went down in the Royal Bastard/All The Bastards universe? After also having a sword plunged through his chest?
The only way I can see canon events going down would be if something happened to the rest of the royal bastards (a la Aera getting murdered by Somnus).
Could be in his own 30 year old body or in his own body from that time period (whether it’s his complete consciousness, or his younger self is just saddled with all the memories).

Lunafreya jumping from that airship in Kingsglaive lives in my head rent-free. She is almost like Noctis in that way, literally flinging herself headfirst into danger (except she can’t warp around).
The question is if she’d be willing to fight the Adamantoise, jumping in with Noctis. Everyone thinks she’d be the voice of reason - but, oh would you look at that, it’s disturbing people’s livelihood!
Oracle of Eos, Queen of Lucis, on her way to wreck a giant ass rock turtle with her husband and her husband’s brothers. The trident and powers of the Oracle aren’t just for ceremony, healing, and light shows.
(She literally repels Leviathan, an astral, with a beacon of light. On her own. While already weak from previous covenants, and probably exhausted and stressed from literally fleeing across half of the Lucian continent).
Also, there’s the little fact that apparently Ravus played the knife game and she is (according to Dawn of the Future) very good at it.
