On Speaking Skills - Therion HC
Therion knows sign language. Initially he learned it because he was more embarrassed of his accent ( growing up in Saintsbridge meant he sounded like a country hick, and he hates it ), and it was the lesser of two evils. People stopped picking on him for it when he could communicate plans at a great distance without being spotted. Once he managed to learn to hide his accent, he used it more for secret conversations.
With his new companions, he will use it to admit to things he doesn’t want spoken aloud. That he wants comfort and affection despite how prickly he is. This way those that understand can actually act on it, but he doesn’t feel like he’s begging for something he doesn’t feel he deserves. It also means he can use it as ammunition later, assuming he needs to break ties with someone.

Alright so since I am currently working and they are now making us submit a form for every task outside our call system ( transparency and to keep us on task ), please tell me what universes you think I should write some AUs for. You can make it general and I will pick a character for it, or mention a specific character.
For example, Atem ( YuGiOh ) in the Ace Attorney setting. The two are basically in the same world anyways, as the US releases of Ace Attorney set them in the States rather than in Japan. Or Byleth ( FE: Three Houses/Hopes ) in a modern setting. Or Impa ( LOZ: Ocarina of Time ) in the Metroid Universe!

On Battle - Octopath Traveler HC
It's not a huge question that all the travelers have to pull their own weight while wandering Orsterra or any other place, but combat is another place where everyone has their place. Cyrus might be the brains of the whole operation, but combat control is where Therion excels.
With his small stature, light weight and one bad eye, being in the middle of a fight with anything bigger than a ratkin is bad news for him. Instead, he uses his skills to get to the highest point he can and call out what openings he can when fighting non intelligent creatures. It's safer for him since he won't be knocked off a cliff or into a lake by his companion's magic or wind walls made by their weapons.
For intelligent opponents, like humans or higher tiered monsters ( chiefs or skeletons with a semblance of instinct ), Therion makes himself scarce. His style of fighting is far better for assassinations and robberies than prolonged matches, and he is often the first in and out or the final strike. His life up to this point has also conditioned him to staying silent even when everything is going wrong around him, meaning unless someone is going to outright kill one of his friends, he will not emerge from where he's taken shelter.
Alternatively, he employs guerrilla warfare type tactics, hitting fast and hard before disappearing into their surroundings for another strike. This is only good in nature however, so it is not often used since any bandits take one look at Olberic and Linde and immediately determine the group is not worth robbing.
Therion is also one to use most of the items that the travelers acquire during their travels. Soulstones, potions, tinctures... he tends to steal anything he will have more use for out of the other's packs, so no one really knows what he's carrying. Anything he hasn't deemed immediately useful is stashed in Alfyn's bag as he is already the louder of the group given all his apothecary equipment he carries.
Additionally, Therion has a unique use for his fire magic. Since he had the tendency to get thrown up and around while traveling alone, he has adapted to using strong and sudden bursts of fire to generate shockwaves. Using this, he can direct himself in midair to some degree, though he nearly never uses this method against someone since it tends to end with singed fingers and clothes for Therion himself.

Aight so I owe y’all not only an explanation but I feel an apology for my constant disappearing acts. The long and the short of this is that the laptop that I use primarily has a lot of issues. It’s a Lenovo Yoga ( yes the one with the class action suit for the screen ) with screen issues and now the bottom row of the keyboard is shot. I could use another laptop, but right now all of my stuff is on that laptop.
I’m writing this on my iPad Pro right now, where I have none of my icons. I rely on them quite heavily when writing as they tend to give me starting points and direction on my replies. I am going to see if I can get some tiny alternate laptop working so that I can have a non-seizure inducing laptop with a functional keyboard.
Also as far as the flakiness goes…. I have the attention span of a gnat and I’ve moved from Web Comics to Genshin, back to comics, to Ace Attorney to Pokémon and back to Genshin and comics. Please feel free to send me anything, tag me in anything, all of it. I still get the notifs and adore all of it.

On Weapons Systems and the Power Suit - Samus HC
As seen in every game, Samus often times starts with a chunk of skills and systems in her Power Suit, but tends to lose it shortly after the intro sequence. This is much less of Samus being any amount of unaware during her expeditions and more of a safety feature for her suit. In order to prevent her from being seen as a large threat wherever she goes, Samus often times is outfitted with some of the most basic weapons necessary.
The Power Beam, Missiles, Morph ball, and sometimes the Grapple Beam are all she normally needs to do her work. It is only when she is on an assignment she either has received from the Federation or has a sense that something may be difficult with standard gear that she will employ some of her stronger equipment.
Her Power Suit is meant to protect her, and in lieu of powering down when she takes sudden and massive damage, it purges systems of anything not immediately vital to survival. Atmospheric and life support systems are top priority, as well as her Power Beam.
Anything else can he reloaded when she reaches her ship and is safe again.
The original sources of her weapons are stored in a location known only to her, and not even stored in her ship's systems. If she needs to visit this location, she will manually pilot her ship and turn any non essential operations off. However as she can load whatever data she wishes into her Power Suit, and has made detailed data back-ups of every single system that she has acquired for future use.
This is not restricted to beam weapons, but types of missles, shields, suit additions, and many others. Samus also has no less than ten back ups of her ship's AI system - ADAM. While her former CO is no longer in the universe, he is someone that she respects and every back up is updated when something happens or it is somehow compromised. With every update, ADAM becomes more and more like the person she knew before he passed, and is fully capable of using any of the ship's weapon systems to assist Samus with little more than a word.

On Morphology ( Chozo ) - Samus HC
Samus' Chozo DNA may have started off as little more than a way for her to survive on her home planet of Zebes, but it has long since become the foundation for her tool kit. Chozo Warriors are known for their ferocity and tenacity, but with their peaceful views very few have seen them fight. So for many who see Samus fight, it is something to speak of.
She seems hyper attuned to the things happening around her. The protesting of an enemy's armor before they move, or a movement that another being might make, Samus seems to know what they will do before even they know. What might seem like magic is anything but -- Samus often feels like things are moving far slower than they are. A space pirate turning to fire looks comically slow. Ridley's tail sweeping towards her might as well be a child's jump rope.
This is not to say that she cannot be taken by surprise. Her power suit might give her alerts about her surroundings, but too many foes can easily overwhelm her. Even with all the blessings that her Chozo speed might grant her, taking advantage of her focus during battle can allow one to score a hit.
Outside of the obvious battle prowess, the Chozo genes also have granted her superior strength. Despite a lithe form, Samus is able to leap several times her height and preform acrobatics that even highly trained Earth Gymnasts would kill to accomplish. Some of this is due to the training she received as a young child, learning near perfect muscle control which allows her to make the most of out her movements without harming herself. The remainder of it is due to how her Chozo DNA has strengthened her musculature and bone structure beyond what humans could accomplish naturally or scientifically.
Outside of physical feats or combat prowess, her Chozo DNA allows her to eat and drink plenty of things that she wouldn't have been able to as a child. Chozo cuisine on Zebes was most of what she ate, with the occasional treat of human foods appearing when one or more Chozo came back from human settlements. As a result, she often times has startled or disgusted people around her with what she eats, not thinking any of the food she eats as anything other than normal.

On Genetic Anomalies - Samus HC
While not public knowledge that Samus is not a normal human, few would know that the power suit she uses is not the only part of Chozo she carries with her. With half of her genetic make-up being gifted to her by her guardians, she is hardier, longer lived, and has faster reflexes than most species in the galaxy. She has no issue sharing this detail, very few know enough about the Chozo to do anything more than ask questions.
Only high ranking Federation officials know anything about the rest of her genetic make-up. The incident prior to the Biologic Space Lab or BSL ship introduced Metroid DNA to her in an attempt to save her life. While the vaccine was not intended to do anything other than remove the X parasites from her person, the parasitic Metroid cells found a great host in the bounty hunter.
It's only her Chozo DNA and sheer force of will that allow her to find a steady equilibrium with the Metroid's DNA. When she wakes on the Federation Headquarters' ship, the doctors seem to have all but pulled straws to figure out who would tell her that she was not two halves of different species, but now three parts.
And while it shouldn't have been a surprise that she wasn't done adding to the frankly impressive set of genetics she now possessed, her body being able to naturally create Phazon is not what she would have put on a proverbial bingo card. Even while events on Phaaze have all but eliminated Phazon from the universe, Samus still possesses a device to help her control and regulate the amount of Phazon produces.
With all of these traits, its no wonder she steers clear of doctors, Federation aligned or otherwise.
