Staff
Danny leaned on Sam’s shoulder, hiding his face in her neck as he dozed.
They were in the cafeteria, and Danny understood that he probably wasn’t helping quell the rumor that they were dating.
Tucker, sat on his other side, chattering to them as he absentmindedly fiddled with his PDA, one hand in Danny’s.
He knew he’d been clingy lately, but the fact his friends didn’t mind the affection made him feel a lot better about it.
(Ghosts didn’t have friends.)
Danny shuddered at the memory of red that flit through his vision.
That had thankfully been happening less. It didn’t seem to be anything he could actively prevent, so he was just doing his best to move on, to forget the orders that had played on loop in his head for days.
He was currently more focused on stopping the involuntary flinches, and the three days of sleep he’d missed.
Thankfully, he didn’t need as much sleep due to his ghost half, but he still had to keep up with the ghost attacks that had happened at night since so catching up on sleep was not the most straightforward task. He’d been trying to catch naps between classes, which helped him pay more attention during them, but he really wished he could just take a day off from school and defending Amity Park to rest.
Sam and Tucker had already suggested he do exactly that, but he’d already missed a whole two days of school that week. He could wait a until the weekend. Even if he felt terrible.
He was lucky the school hadn’t reported his absences to his parents. Or his parents had missed those calls; that was probably the more likely option.
They’d been more wrapped up in their work lately, which was fair considering there had been an entire circus (stopthinkingaboutit stopthinkingaboutit-) of ghosts in Amity. They’d been a lot better about not obsessing that badly since the portal started working, but they still had their moments.
Moments that could lead to his absence not being noticed. Danny had a curfew and he tended to adhere to it, but his parents seldom caught him breaking it, considering more often than not if he was staying out that late, he wasn’t coming home that day. And if they didn’t hear him come back, his parents tended to think he was in his room. Or at least somewhere in the house.
This worked in his favor when he left to fight ghosts while they were busy; he could just faze in and out of his room. The system worked. The whole Freakshow incident had made him start to wonder how okay it was they didn’t always notice when he disappeared…
But, like all things related to that incident Danny was doing his damndest not to think about it!
Jazz tended to notice if he was out of the house though. Almost always. It was annoying.
Or it had been… Lately she’d been noticing a lot less. When he’d gone back home after he and the other ghosts had been freed from the staff (youareaghostyouhavenofriendsobeyobeyobey-), despite really wanting to stay with Sam until he could get the red tinged image of her falling to her death out of his mind, Jazz had looked at him concerned, but knowing. She had told him to tell her if he was going to spend the night at his friends’. This meant he didn’t have to make up an excuse, but it was out of character for her to just write off him being gone for so long…
Point was: his parents didn’t notice, his sister hadn’t realized, and his school didn’t ask! So he was fine to just pretend nothing had happened.
The flinching on the other hand… Danny had been walking a fine line of trying to keep from cowering whenever someone came too close, and trying not think about why that impulse had grown in the first place.
It was shaping up to be a general rule for everything that had happened in that place: just don’t think about it.
So Danny tried to focus on his friends, the light drone of their voices, on the fact they were there and that was enough to make his core thrum pleasantly beneath his skin.
In this sleepy state, he almost wished he could be closer to them. Before everything, he might have thought overshadowing would achieve that. Now though…
The thought of overshadowing anyone, of controlling them, sounded depraved. He wouldn’t, never again.
It was a ridiculous thought; he knew that logically. Overshadowing was different. It was taking a persons consciousness and
pushing it down, gently locking them away in a comfortable little box as you puppeteer a body. They’d have no memory of the event at all.
(There was no slimy red guiding your thoughts and clouding your head with pain. No crimson fire behind crystal, biting into your eyes, your skin, your very core.)
The overshadowed persons mind wasn't
even touched during the process.
Unless you counted the foreign
muscle memory the ghost would have, or the fleeting thoughts left behind like an echo for the overshadowed party to pick up on when their body was their own again.
It was supposed to be like being asleep.
(Danny had been painfully, horribly awake while under the staff's control.)
The bell rang, startling Danny out of his own head as he blinking blearily. Sam shrugged, trying to shake him awake, and Tucker moved away.
Danny sighed as he complied, mourning that quiet moment. (It was the closest thing to contentment he could get with the resonance of red still in his head.)
Danny got up, looking at his friends a smile came almost easily. And he tried not to think about it.

powers danny has that i didnt know about: apparently danny can turn himself into an energy bomb by curling into a tiny ball
APPERENTLY SOMETIMES COPS JUST DO CORRUPT SHIT AND BLAME IT ON DANNY????
Freakshow is such a nerd. Mans made himself float for his own tv commercial.
danny’s power bullshit #2: he overshadows lancer as a human, but when he comes out hes phantom? is that just supposed to happen automatically?\
Freakshow is such a weird-ass guy. i remember him being a threat? He’s only mildly annoyed when he finds sam backstage and makes an awkward joke at her. Then when his attempt to kill her on the tightrope doesnt work the first time he just. tells her that was actually just a threat and then stalks away. Even though he has control of danny again.
sam’s mom blames sam’s dad on the fentons showing up. Intersting.
is sams dads name thurston? or is this a reference to something.

Map of Amity Park
Tumblr media
So I did a bunch of research and traced over the map the GIW had in DCMH and extended it to try and build a map of Amity Park. I also paid close attention to locations and places named in canon. I am by no means an artist, map maker, photoshop pro, or civil engineer; I just wanted a general reference map for the phandom to use.
Here is where I place Amity Park. We know AP isn’t in Michigan or Wisconsin, but is most likely a day drive away from Madison (Bitter Reunions). AP is a decent sized city of itself, so I can see it being an outskirt of a large city like Chicago. Lancer mentions the Northwestern Testing, and Northwestern University is in Evanston, IL, which is why I placed it where it is.
Tumblr media
LIST OF PLACES (in great detail):
Tumblr media
Every city needs it’s basic services: energy supply, water supply, sewage, and trash/recycling. These of course are located more on the edge of the city, as they need a large amount of space and are typically isolated.
I placed a local airport in the city as well. Typically you would fly out of one of Chicago’s airports anyway, but private planes (Vlad, Mansons, etc.) can take off and land here.
University of Amity Park is located at the north side of the city, and is home to a Nasty Burger location, an LGBT Center, and is probably near a gas station. The blocks surrounding the campus are more student housing.
Near the University, we have the Science Center, Axion Labs, a Mental Institute, and the Museum, as a lot of research from the University would go into those places.
In the more isolated areas, we have the Penitentiary, the abandoned North Mercy Hospital, and the GIW Headquarters.
The Zoo is located on the north side of the park and is also close to the University for research purposes.
The Observatory is also located in a more isolated area, so you can actually see the stars without a bunch of light pollution.
Tumblr media
Going into the center of town, where most things are actually located:
A community college, which is near the internet cafe where Danny and Tucker play games, a gas station, a liquor store, a thrift shop, a Planned Parenthood, Java Jive (the coffee shop), a tech store, and a gym.
We also have a shoe store, the hunting goods store and Guitar Palace that Skulker and Ember take over in Reign Storm, the U-Ship Box Store the Box Ghost takes over, a barber and a hardware store.
There is a hair salon, tanning salon, and nail salon, where Paulina frequents. There is also Elmer’s Pharmacy, a dentist office, a law office, the TV repair store, butcher shop, and pet store (which we see next to each other in an episode), a toy store, and a vet office.
Government buildings include City Hall, a public library, a court house, a DMV, a bus station (for all mass transit in the city), a community center (likely where town halls are located and other smaller events; Ida plays bingo here every week), and a retirement home.
There is also the post office, Amity Park Fire Department, a bank, the 24K Jewelry shop, a nearby ice cream shop, and another Nasty Burger location (this is the one right by Casper High that the trio usually hangs at). Also an animal shelter, a grocery store, and a pizza joint.
Education: there is a preschool and daycare, the elementary school, a playground/park, the middle school (yes, a Beetlejuice reference), and Casper High. Casper High campus also has the track, a fieldhouse, and the football field.
Tumblr media
Moving towards Amity Park Mall:
Bucky’s Music Mega Store, an apartment complex, Amity Park Police Department, a bookstore, doctor clinic, gas station, a Denny’s (where Phight Club happens), Material Grill restaurant, the mini golf course and bowling alley, Freddy Fazbear’s (which is actually a horror video game, but here it’s a kids pizza place like Chuck E. Cheese), a furniture store, a party supply store, and the movie theater (which is Marmel’s Multiplex 22, Amity Park Multiplex, and Googolplex Cinemas...it seems that they go to the same movie theater throughout the series and the names just change, or these could also be other movie theaters in the area (like near the college campus). I just picked Multiplex 22 cause it sounded very mall-y).
Along the interstate, there’s a pawn shop, a publishing house (which somehow prints all 5 of Amity Park’s newspapers), a homeless shelter, the diner, Safe House Motel, a laundromat, the 89¢ Store (a nod to Fanning the Flames), and the car dealership.
Also near the mall is Amity Arena, which hosts concerts, sports events, and other large entertainment events. There is a hotel near both the arena and the hospital (the one that isn’t abandoned and haunted). Towards the outskirts of the hospital, there’s a trailer park; north a few blocks is the TV station, where News 4 is headquartered. There’s also a construction site near Amity Arena, but that kinda went out the window when Undergrowth hit.
Tumblr media
On the other side of town, we have:
A-Mart, a convenience store. I named it like this because it can be like an offshoot of KMart, but A for Amity!
Floody Waters, right off the interstate.
North of Floody Waters, East of Casper High, we have the main residences: the Foley household and only a couple blocks away is Fenton Works.
There’s also another gas station and the Amity Park Radio Station nearby. There’s also a private school near ultra posh Polter Heights, but the A-Listers attend Casper High because the private school doesn’t have a football or cheerleading team.
Tumblr media
Moving into Polter Heights and the surrounding area:
The Polter Heights Golf Course and Country Club are exclusive to those in the neighborhood, as well as their private neighborhood pool; members only.
The Mayor’s Mansion (eventually Vlad’s) is located in here too.
All of the A-Listers’ houses are of course in this neighborhood, as well as Val’s previous residence and the Fenton’s temporary mansion from Living Large (which is of course right next door to Vlad, but with some distance, because the rich are always socially distancing with their big houses).
Polter Heights is adjacent to a bunch of farmland (this is the midwest, we like cows and stuff), and there is a church close by as well.
Just outside Polter Heights is the Manson Mansion (with Sam’s greenhouse). Lucky for Sam, the Skulk and Lurk Books and an occult shop are just down the street. The Manson residence is also near a funeral home and graveyard (how did Sam get so lucky? Oh, because I love her), a synagogue, Mario’s restaurant, and a dry cleaners.
Tumblr media
We get more spacious as we get away from the center of town!
Along the shore of Lake Eerie, there are the docks which are home to many warehouses, including the mattress factory.
Also along the shoreline, there is a pier which doubles as an amusement park (think kinda like Navy Pier in Chicago in comparison) and alongside the pier is the public beach area.
Camp Skull and Crossbones is located on the other side of Lake Eerie, and the fishing area is more on the north side of the lake. Lake Eerie is not one of the Great Lakes, it’s just its own thing in Amity Park.
Back towards the park, we have event grounds space, which is where Circus Gothica is located, as well as the Meet Swap and flea market. Basically whatever rotating event hits town, it comes right here. Just next door is a theatre (for music, opera, Broadway, etc.). There is also the third and final Nasty Burger location in AP.
This is all surrounding the actual park Amity Park, which has a pond, a big fountain, and also hosts that really big hill that overlooks City Hall.
On the south side, across the bridge and over the interstate is Elmerton, where Val currently is resided.
All the other blocks are filled with more office buildings, apartment complexes, houses, and businesses, but all of the main places are already listed and placed.
Finally, yes, I did name some places for myself and my friends because they’re great and they deserve it. These include Steph’s (mine) Occult Shoppe, Nick’s Liquor Emporium (@ecto-american), Lexx R Us Toystore (@lexosaurus and appropriately named after the Lexxpocalypse), Laz’s Law Offices LLC (@kinglazrus), Dee’s Dentistry (@qlinq-qhost), Lily’s Looks Thrift Store (@dannyphantomisameme), Ceci’s Funeral Home (@ceciliaspen), Vic’s Amusement Park (@babypop-phantom), and Reverie Books (@wastefulreverie).

Always blamed Chap.4
Chapter 4 MSA pov
It were about two and a half hour later that the Mystery skulls left Miss Valerie Grey’s home. Nearly two hours straight about how ‘evil’ the ghost boy is. And the team found the whole ordeal confusing, at first, then an underlying suspicion that she was biased. But she never mentioned anything that completely cemented that suspicion.
One thing for certain was that there is something going on in this town, they had already encountered two ghost after all, and that they needed to do a more deep and detailed investigation then the one they had done the day before. Yeah they were not leaving anytime soon.
Arthur is the first one to suggest their next steps. “We know three things from what Valerie said that we have to confirm or disprove. One the level of the paranormal crisis going on in this town, two who these capable hunters she talk about are, and lastly, what role does or doesn’t the child we meet yesterday play in all this. Miss Grey mentioned a few incidents that I can look into either from the internet or maybe from older newspapers from the library.”
Vivi nodded along with Lewis and Mystery. “She also mentioned some places as hot-spots, one being the school. We can properly ask them about the other paranormal investigators in this town, if we can’t find them on our own.”
“That leaves Danny,” Lewis referred to the ghost child. His eyebrows furrowed, “We will need to find him to be able to make certain about his involvement in the influx of paranormal activity but it can be a better idea to read up about him first.”
“Then we start with the library,” declared Vivi. “The information could be of use anyway when we ask around the others who work on this here.”
“I’m a bit concerned,” Mystery spoke low so as not to drag any attention, “about how she spoke of those working with specters in this town. Did anyone notice how she kept saying ‘hunters’ rather than investigators?”
Vivi groaned at this. “This better not be like in Skiddy with the hoax ghost hunters. It was a nightmare.”
“It was not fun to calm down the ghost that they had provoked.” Arthur shivered at the memory. “But what are the chances that something that stupid would happen here? Anyway, going back to the specters in this town, we need to find out what have caused them to show up. One thing Grey was adamant about is that this have started recently.”
Lewis hummed. “So either something spiritually have changed.”
“Or someone did something.” Vivi filled in. “Either way,” she struck a pose, “to the library.”
Nothing happen while the made their way to the library, and once there they started to seek all newspapers relating to ghost within the town for the last two years. It did not take long before they run into things, specifically about a white haired child ghost.
“There really don’t appear like anything was wrong in this town until two years ago.” Lewis said as he poured over an old paper. “And look here,” he pointed to a picture of a hole in the road and surrounding damages, “this article is about right before they started to write ‘ghost attacks’ in the papers. In this one they speculate that the damage somehow would have been caused by either a localized gas leak or a homemade bomb of some kind. Yet looking at a picture of a near identical damage that happen about seven months they have visual evidence that it was spectral in nature.”
Arthur looked up from his place at the library computer. “So the change was drastic. From no paranormal activity to worrying high amounts. Yet I can seem to find anything clearly reported from that time to indicate a reason for it. No major moves of any graveyards, no tearing down or building new buildings more than usual, no accidents. Whatever this is about it doesn’t appear like any normal media picked up on it.”
Vivi grunted from the table near Lewis. “I have found a few things about our mystery kid.”
“Mystery kid Viv?” Arthur raised a brow.
“We can’t very well keep calling him ghost kid, with this high amount of paranormal we are run the risk to find other ghost children. But these articles of him are weird.”
“The old or new ones?”
“Both. Look guys.” Vivi spread out a number of papers so all four could see them. “Most of them is similar to the newer ones. He is seen either flying around seemingly the whole town, or he is fighting with other specters. Yet there is a lot of spread out smaller articles that are convinced that he is bad or even responsible for the ghost influx to begin with. But the only thing supporting that are these older ones.” She pointed to some papers to the out most right.
Lewis tilted his head to the side at one article before picking it up. “Ghost kid attack mayor.” His brows furrowed. “This doesn’t sound like the child we met yesterday.”
“Right, it doesn’t does it? And that is not the only odd one, this one here describes him stealing from a bank and there is supposed to be a video on it.”
Arthur picked up another article about the kidnapping. Scrutinizing both the text and picture he found something out of place. “Hey Lew can I see your article real quick?”
“Huh? Sure.”
Giving it over Arthur starts to compare something between the one he had and the one Lewis gave him.
“Is something off Art?”
“Not sure Viv but I might have something. Can you guys help me play these scene out?
“Of course Arthur. What do you want us to do?”
“Well if you Lew could help direct us so we stand like in the picture, with Vivi as the ghost child and me as the mayor.” Agreeing to it they soon stood with Lewis at the side and Vivi beside Arthur with one arm sort of slung over his shoulders and with his arm around her shoulders and throat. “Okay, now Vivi I want you to try to drag me away.”
And she tried, and tried, and tried some more as she couldn’t seem to get Arthur to move. She did everything from shoving to pulling but he wouldn’t budge.
“Artie how am I supposed to move? You have me in a fricking headlock.”
“And that is the problem isn’t it. I’m supposed to be the mayor right now, the one that presumed to be kidnapped in this situation. But even with supernatural aspect accounted for that a ghost could be strong enough to lead someone away like this, it still wouldn’t make sense for anyone to take a grip like this.” Arthur let Vivi go, and they even tried to swap places since the mayor were shorter than the kid but even then, the one playing the ghost just couldn’t move the other.
“Doesn’t this mean it was the mayor that did the kidnapping?” Lewis ask and Vivi frowned.
“That doesn’t make sense either. How does a human kidnap someone that could just stop being material?”
Arthur turned back to a more untouched stack of newspapers, and looked around until he found what he what he was looking for. An explanation, one that unnerved him greatly.
“This might shed some light on it. Look at this article, this was happening at the same time as that one.” Giving it over for Lewis and Vivi to see too.
“…A ghost infestation? How did that happen?”
“Don’t know Vi but if this really happed then why and how, did it stay in Amity Park. Something this big should have been noticed.”
“Okay,” Vivi closed her eyes for a moment in concentration. “So if this was going on on the same time then it may not have been the actual mayor who did this, but rather another ghost, who at the time was possessing him. But why would a ghost attempt kidnapping of another ghost? Arrg, this isn’t making any sense.”
Frustrated Vivi put the paper back on the table before picking up another. Meanwhile Lewis pondered something before looking at the first article again. “Maybe the other ghost were trying to frame the kid.”
Both looked up at him with confused sounds.
“Well the article says quite clearly that the mayor called out for help before being dragged into the town halls. But we suspect him to have been possessed at that time, meaning it must have been the ghost who called out.” Even as the idea did sound sensible all of them wondered the same, for what reason would one ghost frame on other for? Had the child ghost somehow annoyed another ghost so badly that it felt the need to get back at him? Or was it that they knew each other when alive and had an issue from back then.
Whatever the reason they would have to search deeper into it, talking with the people there at the time and maybe one of the local ghosts if they found one willing to talk. Putting it aside they start to look at the other more known incident with the ghost child, the bank and jewelry store robberies.
After some looking around of the articles they found not a lot actually. Arthur carded through his hair. “All the paper really say us is how witness describe him as they saw him making of with the loot. That and when he shot at the police with ghost fire.”
Vivi waved another paper. “This one brings up the video of it. I think we will have to look at it if we want more about this.”
“What even happened with the money and other things taken?” Lewis asks, “There is not like he would have all that much use for it.”
“Ah I have something,” Arthur showed an article from Amity-Park-Angle newspaper, “It says here that all the stolen goods and money were found at Circus Gothica’s train along with the headmaster.”
Mystery blinked before whispering up. “If that is the case we can likely presume that he either worked together with the ghosts or somehow manage to make them do it for him. Unless there is more in the papers about him I think we will have to try finding what we can about the circus alongside that video. Anyway, if the money was found together with a living, how come the ghosts still have the bad rep for the whole thing? I don’t remember Grey saying anything about a livings involvement with that incident.”
It’s true, they remember her bringing that incident up as ‘proof’ for the child ghost being evil, but she never once mentioned the human in the story. Other incidents showed the same tendency, the child was there when something mayor or minor happen, but seldom where there any evidence really showing that he would be the cause. An incident with a plant thingy, the Christmas incident and one even described-
“What the frick? The whole town got dragged into another dimension?!”
That one was a baffler and raised another question altogether. “Hey Art.”
“Yeah Vi?”
“Didn’t you say earlier that the white clad idiots are in this town?”
“The GIW? Well yeah, last I checked before we got here, they are here. If I’m not wrong they are even supposed to have an office put up in town.”
“So, even after all this and knowing that it is way way past small stuff, they still have not given a word in about this to the community?” Vivi’s voice had a dark edge to it that had both human, ghost and dog backing away. “Oh are they in trouble when we get hold of them. Lewlew put it on our to-do list to speak with the ding-dongs. The ghost obediently nodded his head. Vivi took a deep breath before continuing. “Anyway, what we have found so far is that a lot of things have happened in this town, and a lot of it have in some way been blamed on this one ghost, yet there is nothing in the papers that actually proves that is how it happened.
What we need to do is find out what is the real the deal with the kid, why there is so many ghosts in town and why they are so angry, and we really need to find those ‘capable hunters’ in town and see what they believe they are doing. But before we leave here, should we watch that video? Artie?”
“Have it right here, also found one commercial video of the circus involved in this.”
“Great let’s play them.”
They all stood so they could see the computer, Mystery in Arthur’s lap. The first vid was from outside the vault of the bank, first comes the ghost child out from the vault, shortly followed by three other partly transparent ghosts. The child notice the camera at that point and after getting up close destroys it.
Leaning back Arthur is first to talk. “Well that do undoubtedly look like the kid…”
Lewis bend closer, “Hmm, but he seems off somehow doesn’t he?”
Arthur look to him. “How are we to know? We only met the kid yesterday… That aside your right that this is quite different then the impression I got of him yesterday.”
“And his eyes are all screwy.”
Both males and dog turn to her. “What?”
“His eyes. I don’t know if you got to see it Arthur but for me and Lew they were green. Not red.”
Arthur turned back to the computer and moved the video to the moment right before it ended. “You right. His eyes here is the wrong color.”
And when they brought up another vid to make certain it became obvious that his eyes should have been green. Using the reasoning they had before the most logical would be that the child either had been framed again, or that the circus headmaster may be more directly involved then what the papers told.
So they decided that they would watch the commercial for the circus in question and they got as far as to the ‘clown that never smiles’ when a voice called out.
“DON’T WATCH IT.”
Vivi, Mystery, and Arthur all look over their shoulders at the ghost child that is currently floating besides one of the bookshelves. Not knowing nor understanding what they shouldn’t watch one of them was about to ask him when a murmur arouse from the Lewis.
“Go over to the dark side.”
“Watch out!”
Then hell broke loose. Mystery is fast down on the floor and Vivi turns to her boys as suddenly the big one is no longer looking human but is glaring down on them both until his eyes settles on the one closes to him, which is Arthur. He reaches down to him with one hand and a fire in the other and is obvious about what he is about to do.
Then Lewis is body tackled by the kid who calls out to the others in the room, “Turn that thing off. NOW.” Turning his back to them as he and their friend that now have red gloving eyes stands up a good few feet away from them. He tries to strike the kid with a fire covered fist but the kid hurriedly put up some kind of shield.
As fascinating a ghost fight could be they were more worried over their friend and so Arthur did not hesitate in yanking out the cord, shutting the computer down all together. But Lewis continued to have red eyes and attacking the much smaller ghost.
“Why isn’t it working?” Vivi try to move closer but the kid calls back not to.
“Okay buddy, I’m sorry if this will hurt but I’m pretty sure you don’t want to hurt anyone.” That was all the warning given before he collected up a medium big ball in his hands of green energy and pushes it into Lewis chest. There is a smaller explosion and Lewis got slung into a nearby wall.
The kid doesn’t move or say anything, he only stands there ready for another attack. But it never happen as Lewis groan and look up with his normal pink eyes, shortly followed by his human facade. The kid relaxes then and the others of the mystery skulls team rushes over to Lewis.
