Figured it'd be the perfect time to draw this fella since I just beat Platinum for the first time yesterday! Sadly I didn't end up getting one on my team but they're SUCH a cool dragon all the same

Daily Dragon #106 - Rex

One of the cutest Mario dragons! There's just something so charming about this little guy

While drawing this it really dawned on me how interesting this enemy is. It's one of the many Mario enemies that only appeared in 1 main series entry, but unlike a lot of other similar enemies it just will randomly appear in spinoff content a lot. Not even just as cameos, but like actual tangible enemy appearances. It's been an enemy in 3 games post SMW, 4 if you count the Minecraft Mario thing. That actually puts it over a LOT of random Mario enemies, but it still doesn't appear enough to be a Mario staple enemy. idk just kind of interesting to me lol

These incredibly tiny dragons are just slightly larger than berries. They use their spikes to collect various pieces of food while out and about, as well as breaking open seeds and nuts to eat!

What would the Winter King look like in your style? Also, what are your opinions on him, considering he’s a version of Simon

Oooh, good question! I did start working on a redraw from his episode when it came out, but I didn't get very far. So here you go:

As a character, the Winter King is super fun and interesting (and I do love Brian David Gilbert), but as a person he suuuucks, lol.

When we first meet him it's shocking how different he is from our Simon, not just physically but personality-wise, especially since, according to the brief flashbacks we get in his song, their lives are much more aligned up until WK "conquered the crown". I've seen a couple of people talk about this also, but I like the idea that his indifference towards Betty can be explained by him (intentionally or not) having expelled his love and devotion towards her when he transferred the crown's madness onto Candy Queen, since her obsession with finding someone to love and marry is very reminiscent of the crown's effects on Simon; it's something specific to him. In the process he probably also lost his kind and self-sacrificing nature, as well as most everything else that made Simon, well, Simon (but it seems he still retained *something* from his old self, hence the ice Marcy--which is a whole other bag of worms I'm kinda glad the episode didn't get into because I'm sure it's horrible and tragic).

Ok so the saga with my old PC continues and is only fueling my desire to get back into fanfiction lol because I found all of the files from my attempt at making a legend of spyro fan-game! I honestly thought they were lost, I'm so excited to see all this stuff again! This was the "logo" for the game (I know its nearly unreadable lol, so it says "The Legend of Cynder, Shadows of The Past". 14/15 year old me didn't seem to care much for readability, I think I'd just discovered photoshop's layer effects lol)

Here's a bunch of random stuff I found.

I'm defiantly going to do a redraw of that last one at some point. That was like, THE thing I remember being super proud of when I first did it. I think it was going to be part of the trailer my now-partner was putting together for the game lol.

Actually, a lot of these were actually just frames from animations, but either the files are either just corrupted, or high school me didn't know how to set fps and resolution properly in the output so I got a headache trying to watch them lol. It's probably the second one honestly. Also I remember my old laptop wasn't able to play back the animation because it would lag so much, so I just had to kind of...guess at timing, and that went about as well as you'd expect. It didn't help that blender used to have this bug where your audio would move around your timeline so it really was just random guessing. I'm amazed anything got done at all, let alone how far we actually got (that is to say, not far at all but we had something playable at least).

I also found the demo files and footage of the "game" running (running at 12fps but running)! I'm curious if they still work, I'll have to download an older version of blender to test them out!

There's actually a lot more but actually finding it is proving to be quite a challenge since this laptop seems to be the digital equivalent of an ADHD "doom box" - meaning nothing is sorted into folders that make even a remote lick of sense to me, it's all just kind of thrown in together lmao.

I wanted to post these though because even though I don't really do 3D stuff anymore, It still made me really happy to see how much progress I've made over the years and how far I've come. Also a few folks who worked on this project with me back on Deviantart have started finding me lol, so in case there's anyone else out there, hello! I'm not dead, I'm still around, I'm just a lot more (openly) queer now lmao.

Max 10 Speedrun

I have not posted in over 6 months so now i need to catch up on all the ben 10 art i have not posted hueheuhe. Also have some asks which i will get to !!

Swampfire! Tried to honor the bloomed design with the collar and bright fingers even though i really hate it in the show (lol) also gave him 1 eye to represent his weak eyesight. Also the weakness i gave him about the fire burning him shouldve been a thing in the show tbh

Echo echo, tried to go for a more boomboxy vibe bc yk boomer Max. I like the idea of aliens looking extremely different while still being the same species (not a subspecies like murk and perk gourmands, thats cool too but different)

Humungo. I actually was never a big fan of him lmao, i always thought you need to do more with him than just "dinosaur" especially with that color scheme he has in the show. I got the idea to give him feathers to show the drastic change in age also bc i love chicken dinos and think they should appear more. Fun fact the power change come from what i used to think his powers worked like when i was a kid

Jeffrey!! One of my fav aliens ever. Not much about this is special just bigger with different colors. I also took a few notes from the concept art with the weirdo shaped eyes and having his body be a mantaray with legs sticking out to make him less humanoid, since ben's jetray design looks more like a man with wings than a mantaray with legs yk?

Another screenshot redraw!! This is the only other one ive done sadly, i really oughta make more screenshot redraws tbh. This one is of the scene where kevin and ben get chased by the entire frickin fbi or something for stealing a video game. I imagine in this version max chases after them and comes for the rescue

Lodestar! Never been much of a special alien. Design on the right is made by me aswell since i wanted to do my own spin on bens lodestar (basically the same just give him longer arms). Once again he has 1 eye to represent max's eyesight problems

Brainstorm! Instead of giving him specially weaker eyesight i made his shell cover his eyes as the way to visually represent that (as well as the classic squinty eyes i have going on for each alien

Also i got asked while making this how come maxstorm is so big when psychobos is also old and visibly smaller, and my answer to that was that third image. In my head i always saw psychobos as sort of disfigured and mutated, and not representative of what is typical for his species. If he were to turn into a human thatis what i think hed look like

Goop! I always loved goop, and the idea of a ufo antigrav device helping him navigate because hes not built for earths gravity is a super unique and cool idea. However i i wanted to go for something entirely different with my goop since i never liked the idea of the omnitrix creating non-clothes for the user (bc then you have to consider that it would create a respirator for ripjaws, and thats lame)

And thats all!! Id expect myself to have made as many Max 10 drawings since i stopped posting as before, but sadly i have slowed down significantly over time, especially on max 10. Im not really happy about it and im trying to be a fast artist again but its not coming to me. On the brightside though, ive got a fair bit of other Ben 10 stuff to show!!

I opted not to shade the new ones since quite frankly, it was a huge pain in the ass the first time with 13 of them and I also hate shading and am not super good at it even now imo, but obviously you can see on the original ones how they look with it 😅

Anyways, happy slightly belated 1 year anniversary to Once Upon A Duelist! This fic is my pride and joy, a combination of so many of my favorite things, and just such a labor of love 🥰

8 - 12/12/2023 : twas in the middle of finalising a design for my human Sonny, so heres some lil phone doodles where i was figuring out his hair and hat, i ended up going with the right hand side, thought it would be worth posting them

9 - 16/12/2023 : first sort of draft of his design being put to use, not my faaave drawing but it was nice to finally get him drawn, it was an absolute ballache trying to get his design perfect, the art block was Strong that week.. anyway, i did end up changing some things, just tweaks mostly, and i scrapped the hoodie, i wanted him to have a bigass varsity jacket collar to hide behind, so i opted for him wearing a plain t-shirt underneath instead, eventually

10 - 20/12/2023 : Buttercup and his scary ass big blue freak eyes, based on a tweet i saw, the OP went private eye fink but the og tweet said like "i don't have rizz, i have unsettlingly large blue eyes that are haunted by visions", and thats just Buttercup.. so heres him, having a jolly good stare

11 - 22/12/2023 : that chooshada drawing again, just recoloured with NER apple green livery :) i think she looks super cute with it, it's not entirely accurate in terms of lining coz i was referencing pics of her basis which are like 10p black and white taken on a potato kinda deal

First impression: kind of hard to explain bc I did know a bit about the game going into it, having seen lots of fanart and watched some gameplay clips. I think I didn’t initially realize Cuno was a twelve year old LOL I wanna say the first thing I ever saw of him was a redraw of that mp100 meme where he asks Kim “why does Cuno’s pig call you babygirl” and I think I thought he was a fellow cop…? I saw his portrait a few times too and thought he was some kind of loose cannon character. 😭 by the time I actually played the game I actually mostly knew abt what Cuno’s home life was like so I never really had that moment of going from “what’s the deal w these annoying kids” to “oh I care them,” he and C were actually a big reason I was interested in playing the game to begin with bc what I knew about them made me like 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭

Impression now: my horrible son who has every disease and calls me slurs. One of the best characters in the game, genuinely. Every single line of dialogue from him is either gut bustingly funny or devastating. He and C are the center of the whole story and the idea of a revolution to me bc they are the kids who will inherit the world that Harry and all the other political characters build. Girl child revolution and boy child freedom…

Favorite moment: it’s impossible to pick but one of the moments that stood out most to me was when I made Harry make some self deprecating joke comparing himself to the severed pig’s head in Cuno’s shack bc I thought Cuno would join in on bullying the cop, but instead got a serious shock when Cuno told me frankly that that was super dark and Cuno isn’t about that self-deprecation shit. I love that Cuno and Kim are both voices of reason for Harry, just coming from opposite personalities/POVs, and so Cuno has a lot of moments of saying things that just catch you totally off guard with how insightful he really is. In some ways I have even more respect for him and his opinion of me than I do Kim LOL

Idea for a story: I had this idea for a fic of post-game Cuno living with Harry in Jamrock and befriending a sickly stray dog, something about the way that Harry’s always compared to dogs and how Cuno is so similar to Harry when he was a kid and the 15th indotribe thought mentioning how they used to run from wild dogs in the valley… and about Cuno wondering whether loving someone who’s doomed matters in the end 😔

Unpopular opinion: idk if this is actually an unpopular opinion (I think probably not) but I think content of Harry and Kim adopting him together is so fucking funny bc Kim hates his little ass so much. Which is not to say that I dislike it, on the contrary, I think Kim is in dire need of more Cuno in his life

Favorite relationship: Cuno and Cunoesse… 😢 they are SO important to me

Favorite headcanon: Cuno’s graffito around Martinaise plus his artistic sensibilities™️ made me think it would be cute if he admired Cindy and often hoped she would notice his work and say smth about it. She seems to be everything Cuno wants to be tbh, a skull and an artist…

Sorry to those who followed me for my art but I'm probably not gonna make/post art for it anymore. I haven't had the motivation to for a long time anyway.

And I can't really lie, it's not entirely from my own issues. Sure, I kinda lost hyperfixation on the show and haven't watched the source material in a while, I'm getting back into old special interests, makes sense I'm not really feeling like it anymore, but it's a bit more than that honestly. The fandom hasn't felt like a very welcoming space if I'm being honest. The large amount of fanfics or fanworks throwing in SA for no reason really throws me off, sure that's because it's a bit of a trigger but it also just feels kinda bad to throw it in there 'just because.' I don't want to be too harsh on fan content as I do think there's some very talented people in this fandom that have created amazing art, and that's not to say fanwork that includes those topics can't be good just because it includes those topics, but for a fandom that's based off a kids show? It feels very odd to include a topic of that nature. But I didn't write all this just to say ''oh there's been some fanfics with topics that threw me off'' because, eh.. While I get every fandom has its issues, and this is definitely a minority of people, the issues with t-cest or sexualizing the turtles definitely make it a bit frustrating to just enjoy the fandom when you're constantly having to filter through content, especially on other social media platforms where you can't just ban those tags, or some people simply don't tag it with those tags. But honestly the thing that made me worried to post about this? As far as interaction goes the fandom hasn't been super welcoming beyond a couple of people, though I am grateful for those people, it can be a bit frustrating. I noticed I was getting more attention on my posts early on, then when I made a post about trans representation.. it went all downhill from there. and it's frustrating. It's annoying seeing and knowing people actively avoid interaction with someone just because they said something mildly political and left leaning. What's more frustrating is trying to figure out how to convey this without sounding like "oh I'm not getting a ton of likes :(" Like. I don't care about that, I truly don't, I've actually been really happy with the feedback I've gotten on one of my KH redraws even though it didn't get many likes at all. It's difficult trying to convey something that feels invisible. Most people might think it's just coincidence, but it really wasn't, it was a sudden shift and I certainly noticed the people that consistently followed my posts and suddenly stopped after the trans representation post. Like I said it's frustrating to make a post about this, because I do want to talk about it, it's very annoying and makes this fandom feel more like a space where people care about having a 'clean' image rather than a genuine community- But I can't help but feel I'm gonna be recieved poorly for it. I'm trying not to care too much about it. if I don't feel like I can be open, what's the point of even posting? I guess this was largely to get this off my chest, but I did also want to give some sort of explanation for why I'm not really engaged in the fandom anymore. I still see/like some posts, but I don't try to actively engage anymore. And this is why :/ That and also I just don't use tumblr a lot anymore but that's because I forget it exists a lot lol. I still wanna post on this account, I like making analysis posts and I wanna make more KH art, I just haven't had the motivation or time to do so. So it's not like I'm like, giving up this account or anything or disassociating from mutuals because of a fandom, just wanted to explain why I'm not really posting much of my own in this fandom anymore.
