Happy new year! If the adage is that you spend today doing what you want to for the rest of the year, then I want to keep reading and reccing some fics I’ve loved in the last little while!

The Lockhart House was once a home, although it was never a happy one. Steeped in tragedy, it still stands today, in the heart of Old Town Roswell, attracting ghost hunters and those seeking to catch a peak of something from beyond the veil.
Contrary to popular myth, it wasn’t currently haunted (except by one paranormally talented docent). It was Michael’s favorite job and the best part of his summer home from UNM. Or at least was until Alex Manes was hired to man the gift shop, complicating an otherwise fun and easy job.

Four years out of veterinary school, there were plenty of animals Adam Parrish hadn’t had the opportunity to deal with yet, but he never expected a corvid to come through the doors of the practice. Rural Virginians had a slew of pets, from dogs to snakes to chinchillas, along with an even larger slew of livestock, but ravens weren’t high on the list of domesticated animals in and around Henrietta.
Adam Parrish is a veterinarian in Henrietta, Virginia. He's used to dogs. He's used to cats. He never thought he'd treat a raven. Or a pygmy goat. Or a fennec fox. Or an emu.
But then Ronan Lynch shows up.

Does anyone have any ficrecs that are set in the future where Adam and Ronan have broken up for whatever reason and haven’t spoken for a few years and they are reunited for a whatever reason, and they reunite and get back together.
I think in some they are reunited for Adam’s wedding, or Adam has a boyfriend/ girlfriend, or it’s Blue and Ganseys wedding and Adam has a plus one or Romanians seeing someone.
I know there are a few out there but I sick at searching and don’t know how to start looking.
Any fics like these would be greatly appreciated.

July Fic Recs! (TRC edition)
I read substantially less this month (so ready for holidays!!), but I still got a few gems to recommend:
stand still by @lizpaige (G, 2k, pynch, missing scene)
This takes place after TRK and it’s so perfect – the way Adam and Ronan communicate with body language, it's so typical!! This is canon to me now.
Boys In The Bathroom by charliewritingronan (E, 13.7k, pynch, canon-divergence)
This was such a fun read! I loved the dialogue in this, it’s all the pride and snark that we know and love in Ronan and Adam (and I’m still cackling about 1000 Coca-Cola t-shirts).
Two Point Perspective by cheeryos (M, 80k words, pynch, Architecture AU)
Okay this was SO GOOD! I was hesitant (because my attention span is short these days, thank you PhD stress) but it’s one of the most believable magical AUs I’ve ever read, it hits all the major beats of canon but in an entirely different setting. (And totally makes me want to go to DC, sorry Ronan)

Zuko still has a stubborn expression on his face. There are angry tears in his eyes when he says, “We could’ve figured it out. We could’ve…been us. We could’ve had a good life together.”
“Yeah, well, I guess we won’t ever know.”
(or, the twenty years between Zuko and Sokka breaking up and finally getting together again, shown in 5 times they don’t say goodbye, +1 time they don’t have to)

In which Zuko suffers in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: close and constant proximity to the object of his affections, assassination attempts, and irreparable injuries to his dignity.
Yesterday is Ashes by alivingfire
Sokka takes a strategic step back, but he also smiles: triumphant, like he baited Zuko into exactly what he wanted. Like it’s a challenge. It’s the same way he looked when they sized each other up at the prison, with Sokka in chains that left red marks around his wrist, in tattered prison garb, malnourished and angry. Back then, that was Sokka saying: I see your power. I see you. Now, see me.
Zuko saw him then. And he sees him now; different, but the same. I see you.
Zuko lights his daos in flame. Sokka grins, back to gravel and heat. “Come on, Fire Lord. Impress me.”
Zuko burns. His vision flickers with fire. His heart races. His blood sings. His body is like a magnet, pulling ever onward to meet Sokka’s. He advances.
He pins Sokka to the wall, blades against his throat.
Or, Zuko found Aang first, Sokka and Katara were imprisoned in Boiling Rock for trying to rescue their dad, and all Sokka knows is he's pretty sure he's not supposed to think the Fire Lord is attractive but he's never let things like rules stop him before.

Zuko turns twenty-five. In spite of his best efforts, the Fire Nation seems to lurch from crisis to crisis. The firebenders have lost their flame, and the situation with the former colonies is only worsening. All the while, he's ill, lonely, and consumed by work.
And on the other side of the country, Sokka has just moved in with one Master Piandao.

hello here is a tiny fic based on the titular line from leonard cohen's hallelujah. it's bluesey. it's fluffy. it's full of my headcanons. also there's a teeny tiny sex joke. enjoy <3
blue sat gansey down in a chair with a stained blue cushion in the tiny kitchen of 300 fox way. she readied her mom's hair cutting scissors in one hand and a spray bottle of warm water in the other. gansey squirmed in their seat, anxiety and excitement battling in their stomach.
"if you don't stop squirming, i'm gonna tie you up and give you a mullet." blue put a hand on their shoulder to steady and comfort them.
gansey's brain caught the words tie you up and proceeded to trip over the tongue, "oh! well, um, uh- i just, well-" but blue just laughed as they blushed.
"what style do you want? keep in mind my haircut," she pointed to her own very choppy, messy haircut, "i can't do fancy."
"i would like," they paused, again shifting in the chair, whatever makes me look less like a republican congresswoman's son."
"ah ha! i can manage that," she said with a grin.
it took longer than the average haircut would, but for good reason. blue was rather accommodating, knowing the struggles of autism and haircuts. so gansey took breaks, and got some water, and, only being ambushed by orla once, the deed was done. dark brown hair strewn the floor of the kitchen in clumps. gansey eyed it with no small measure of anxiety. and then blue came around with the hand mirror.
they almost didn't want to look. they knew blue did a good job - she's blue - but this was an ending. a departure. they were a different person on the other side of this haircut. they took a deep breath and turned the mirror.
blue shifted back and forth on her heels impatiently. "say something," she urged.
"hallelujah."
"hallelujah?"
gansey looked up at her with a smile. "i don't look like a republican congresswoman's son."

“What day of the week was that?” Ronan replied, trying to keep it civil with Adam’s foot still resting against his side.
Henry sighed, already exasperated. “It was a Tuesday.”
“Oh.”
“Oh?”
Ronan rolled his eyes. He thought his oh was self explanatory. He didn’t think Adam or himself seemed like the type to celebrate Valentine’s Day but maybe that wasn’t evident to Cheng.
“Parrish works graveyard at the factory on Tuesdays.”
“You didn’t see each other at all?”
“Uh, we hung out between school and work, I think.”
“Where?”
“Adam’s.”
Henry sighed again. “You can’t just hang out at each other’s places all the time. I mean, where’s the fun in that? Where’s the romance? What do you even do if you’re not going on dates?”
Ronan was thrilled to answer this question in the most graphic way possible, but Adam clapped a hand over his mouth.
“Shut up,” he said to Ronan, biting back a smile despite himself. Ronan just lifted an eyebrow.

This month started hard with the humor, then veered toward the stuff that makes your face go like 🥺, turned back toward humor, and then ended up with 🥺. My favorite fics from June include (listed in order read):
you can train your gag reflex, and other fun facts by Hylda - Is there anything better than Ronan Lynch being a gay disaster? If you like hot mess Ronan as much as I do, this fic is for you. It's nice and short and absolutely hilarious.
Adam Parrish, farmer by @hextechery - This was so calm and peaceful, which is exactly what Adam Parrish deserves. It made the Barns feel like a living thing, and the writing was just lovely.
not so transparent by @whatimages - This fic is the conversation everyone wished Ronan and Adam would have had in Greywaren. It is not only remarkably well-written, but I think the characterization is so spot on. It's perfection.
Stay by @amarillis39 - I love some nice, tooth-rotting fluff, and this fic about Ronan and Adam's second kiss is cotton candy. It's so soft and warm and cozy.
reddit gold by @via-val - This fic is perfect. No notes. It's post-Greywaren on crack on reddit. There's r/AITA, r/Advice, and (it wouldn't be Lynch brothers fic without) r/familyissues. I laughed out loud numerous times when reading this one. It's great. I love it. I'm going to go reread it right now.
father tell me if you can by @your-void-senpai - The last rec of the month veers back toward the 🥺. This one was lovely and bittersweet. Don't be surprised if it starts raining on your face when you read this one.
