🏛️ 🇷🇺 RAPHAEL'S LOGGES AT THE HERMITAGE
This is the most unusual room of the Great Hermitage, an architectural monument that is part of the museum complex of the same name.
Raphael's loggias owe their appearance here, you won't believe it, to a banal illness of the empress of the time.
In fact, while Catherine II was suffering from a severe cold and to console herself in some way, she started looking at an album with colored engravings.
Leafing through it she saw images of the Gallery of the Pope's apostolic palace in the Vatican.
Catherine immediately ordered that these vaults, as well as the walls, were immediately copied in full size.
Thanks to her we can now admire such beauty!
🏛️ 🇷🇺 LE LOGGE DI RAFFAELLO ALL'ERMITAGE
Questa è la sala più insolita del Grande Ermitage, monumento architettonico che fa parte del complesso del Museo omonimo.
Le logge di Raffaello devono qui la loro comparsa, non ci crederete, ad un banale malanno dell’imperatrice dell'epoca. Infatti, Caterina II mentre pativa un forte raffreddore e per consolarsi in qualche modo, si mise a guardare un album con delle incisioni colorate.
Sfogliandolo vide delle immagini della Galleria del palazzo apostolico del Papa in Vaticano. Caterina ordinò immediatamente che queste volte, così come le pareti, fossero immediatamente copiate a grandezza naturale.
Grazie a lei ora possiamo ammirare cotanta bellezza!
