there’s something so bonkers about writing and filming a scene of buck throwing himself to the ground using his bare hands to try and claw his way to eddie while he screams ‘eddie! eddie! eddie! no, eddie!’, only to never mention it after.

Tommy saying he has to leave after kissing Buck is something I have to talk about…

Because instead of just saying “yeah gotta go!” and leaving Buck to flounder and worry and feel used, Tommy does the opposite

Tommy wants to stick around, wants to be there, and wants to be with Buck. And he says so by the way he adjusts Buck’s shirt, by maintaining eye contact, explaining it, and Buck isn’t left to spiral right after the kiss.

And after Buck’s little “okay” that still holds a sense of awe and maybe not being super present (which can’t blame him, I mean have you seen Lou), Tommy still assures Buck of his place by asking for a date.

It’s all these things that add up to Tommy making sure Buck is a priority and Tommy will keep that as a promise.

Buck deals with abandonment and not feeling right in the world, and Tommy is there to say “hey, in this world, in my world, you can feel safe and free to be you.”

It’s the way that when Buck said he broke up with Natalia because all she wanted to talk about was death, Eddie saw the light in Buck that he hadn’t seen since before he was struck. The way he said, “you don’t have to be anything for anybody,” when Buck said he felt that he had to try to be the “same old” guy he was before the lightning. The way that even though Eddie did miss the old Buck, and he did want to be there for him, he gave him the space he needed to heal, even if it meant healing with Natalia. It’s the way that, when Buck told him that he broke up with Natalia, he raised an eyebrow and immediately welcomed him back. In that moment, Buck was alive again and Eddie had him back. It's the way he loved Buck back to life. It’s the way Eddie loves him to his core.

the idea that abc may have just accidentally spoiled the 911 season arc by putting ryan in what is a clearly all-queer-characters-of-911 line-up of actors for a celebrity family feud episode is so fucking funny that i want it to be true so badly it hurts

it actually makes so much sense for buck and eddie to discover and explore and understand their queerness with men that are not each other, because cmon look at them, they are just too close, far too close to actually see each other in that light, too comfortable and entrenched in one another to think that there could actually be more, too unwilling to think of each other in *that* way because what good would it do. so of course it takes someone else, and that's honestly such a good and thrilling thing, them recognizing these long hidden pieces of themselves through someone else in an environment that isn't so risky as it would be with each other yknow and to be able to grow into a version of themselves that would be good to and for each other and not be the blind leading the blind, my god how fucking good and beautiful right

no wait, but imagine that chris actually used to think eddie and buck dated. like, when he was younger and they were both single. and they just— broke up and then kept being friends.

like, this is a fact to him. he never questioned it, he never asked eddie about it. he genuinely thinks buck and eddie used to date and stayed friends after the break-up.
