A scribble comic from a while ago that I didn't post because I felt like I was spamming too much content about Shyam, given she doesn't show up in the main story for a long time. But it's been up on my website for a while so sure I'll eject it on social media too. This takes place when Shyam was still in college, she's 20 here and her then-girlfriend Rajni is 21. Neither of them are terribly emotionally mature yet.
Glossary:
Per: gender neutral term for a parent, equivalent to mom or dad. Typ: A human that has not been significantly modified from the genetic baseline (i.e. you, presumably)

Roxanne design notes. Roxanne is a reserved girl with a rather dour outlook on the world. She hides behind her headscarf almost always when in her human skin. Her and her family have taken a liking to Hindu features/fashion when creating their Human identities. As a doctor at Mantess Medical Group, she is often seen in a lab coat.
In her insect form, Roxanne is heavily designed after the Indian Flower Mantis. She lets her hair down in this form as she's free to be exactly who she is. Her arms are able to turn into Mantis blades on her command. Like all insects, she is loosely dressed, in her case, only wearing frilled panties and 2 flower pasties over her nipples. She can extend her wings out her abdomen, however they aren't made for long distance flight and can only get her to glide from platform to platform.
Her reverse;gene- Rajni Mantodea is released in her fight with Claudette after their initial breakup. in this form she gains an extra pair of legs to take on a more mantis looking form.
Originally, Roxanne was meant to be a hijabi, but I felt it was in poor taste to have her as one as a human, but revealing her hair as an insect. Not well versed in the religion behind it, I opted to make her wear a simple headscarf, but she treats it similarly to a hijab.
As a child, Roxanne's eyebrows were bushier(bordering unibrow) and she wore large box frame glasses. In present day, she has had corrective eye surgery.

“What if we fail?”
“Then we died trying, and the only regret I’ll have is that I didn’t find you sooner.”
“I don’t want to lose you. You’re the only thing I’ve ever wanted."

@gagakumadraws struck again! She's offering 'your character here' commissions, and there was a certain pose that immediately had me thinking of *them.* You can read about the T4T chaos in The Rebel Foxes, and meet the rest of the shifter family.

When people were talking about Dall-E, Dall-E 2, Mid Journey and started to speculate if Graphic Designers/Artists as we know will become obsolete it got me thinking as well. Is my job in serious danger, will I be replaced by a bot. But when I tried the AI art creation bot MidJourney, I understood what it can and can’t do.Yes, the way it creates an image in seconds is awesome and it is quite scary how bizarre keywords can get such beautiful results. But it all depends finally on the human input. Yes, you may have the worlds best cooking range, but you still need the right ingredients and human intervention to cook a wonderful meal. The better the tools, the easier some tasks are but your knowledge and skill is what makes the dish awesome. Moms for generations have been proving just this point. So, I am not worried, but excited to see what I can pull off and what could be the practical application for it beyond a like-bait artworks on social or cool looking wallpapers. It is a great starting point for speculative or concept art. After doing a few random ones, I finally gave myself a brief and created a concept art for a Futuristic Tamil action movie with my favourite star but shot with a retro psychedelic aesthetic. And after a few tweaks, I landed with an interesting starting point. This is where I see artists begin their Journey, From the Middle, and perhaps that is why maybe the program is called Mid Journey. And where they eventually land is up to them. And like Rajnikanth, Artists are forever, technology will only aide them to reach new heights and you will still be the SOLO-BOSS.

Jailer (2023) Spoiler Review
If you like pure mass entertainment and a group of veteran actors kicking ass, you'll love Jailer.
I saw Rajni's Petta a while back and while I enjoyed some parts of it, I was largely frustrated towards the end. I also saw Nelson's (the director) Beast, and while it had a straightforward premise, some parts of it were eyebrow-raising (I still love the hallway shooting scene with Vijay, though, that was just hella cool even if it didn't make sense). So, when they announced a Nelson and Rajinikanth collaboration, I wasn't sure if I should bother watching.
I'm glad I watched it though. For one, the story isn't all over the place. The revenge angle and heist subplot made sense together.
The flashback revealing Rajini's days as a hard-core warden aka Jailer was pretty nice. I liked that his hair style looked like the one in his older movies. However, I really don't understand why the inmates liked him or became loyal to him. It was never showed what he did to make them turn over a new leaf. They just said he helped them, but we mainly saw him being extremely violent.
Okay, this is part where I reveal that I saw Jailer a day after I saw Jawan. I couldn't help comparing the action in both movies because the action in Jailer is so violent! I'm not complaining or cringing. I actually liked the over-the-top violence lmao. It's just that I was like "Oh, right, this is one of things I was waiting for in Jawan -- hyperviolence!" LMAO.
Anyway, I do love that the former inmates that helped him were veteran action stars from Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema: Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff respectively. Bruh, I had goosebumps when Shiva R stepped into the house to protect Muthu's family while the Hukum song played!
Next, let's talk about the songs and bgm. "Hukum" really is such a banger of a song. And the style that they do, where they insert bits of the song's melody into cool scenes that build up and lead to the FULL SONG or at least CHORUS is such a great style because it makes you so hyped for the next badass scene!
Now, the family -- I honestly thought Rajni and Ramya Krishnan would have more romantic moments together since this is their reunion. Like, yes, they're grandparents now, but so what? It's always nice to see older people still doing romantic stuff with each other y'know.
Anyway, that twist with his son! I didn't expect them to go all the way with the betrayal but wow. It was really sad, but I liked that they went for that gut-wrenching story, too. Rajini is not much of a dramatic actor, but his performance was good for what the script called for. Also, his partnership with Yogi Babu was funny and nice. Also, those bald sharp-shooter guys! Their costume changes! That was so hilarious! And Varman's henchmen! The random funny characters and elements are really such a fun part of the mass experience.
All in all, Jailer is a really enjoyable movie for the whole family (if your kids are old enough to not be so desensitized to violence I guess).
