Picking which cereal to have, based on which box is the tallest! He seems to think taller=better at the moment, which is a bit sad, because he's the smallest child at nursery! I think that's probably why. Lots of well-meaning parents comment on how little he is, and he's definitely become conscious of it. I keep telling him that I was one of the smallest children in my class and I love being short, but he needs more convincing! We've been reading a lot of "Marvin Wanted More," about a sheep who wants to be bigger, but ultimately learns to accept himself. Think my next step will be to find some TV shows about awesome tiny characters! ✨Parenting with Spirit Guides✨ What does it actually mean when I say doing this parenting thing with my spirit guides? 😊 It’s like having someone by your side (who’s always on your side), ready to point out to you - to help you figure out that problem you’ve been facing in your day. They point out little things, and some big things. It brings you back to your awareness of yourself, and your surroundings. Telling you how and what to focus your attention on to find your answer. I need help with my children, teaching them how to stop playing with their iPad. I find myself yelling in frustration, and then I’m reminded to understand them, and guided to say the words that will encourage them to stop on their own. We teach them the how, the why. She told me one of these days that she wasn’t feeling pretty because she’s not blonde or have blue eyes. And I thought that it was maybe because of Elsa (frozen) 🤨lol. Well I was right...but at the same time it destroyed me inside, because I see perfection everyday, I see beauty inside and out. So I took this photo to show her that she’s amazing, courageous, pretty, and perfect because she’s a child of God, and apparently I convinced her. The lesson this taught me is that we doesn’t need to look like everybody else to feel good or enough. God created us with uniqueness. Zoe was given a lovely sewing kit to make this fairy and other characters and shapes. She's been enjoying learning how to sew. My favourite moment so far was when she saw that the instructions said that for this particular doll, you just put padding in the head and leave the body flat. She said "Hmmm, no, I'm going to give her a lovely cuddly tummy!" and squeezed in a bit of padding. I ask what inspired them, what they were thinking and how it makes me feel - happy or cheerful. rarely do I say how proud I am. (I am super proud by the way!) ✨ why I don’t say I’m proud - I want to encourage them to create, explore and play for themselves, that does not involve my opinion. We want them to do because they’re interested or curious about it. this then translates into an adult who creates and decides based on their own thoughts and opinions. not someone who seeks approval to feel that it’s a success. This is a message from my Spirit Guides: “We understand that you may think that guiding your children to find their purpose in life is simple. It isn’t easy, but if you throw it all at them - a chance to study well, learn all that they can, ballet, play the piano and martial arts. All of these will set them up on a path for success. But in actual fact, it is the little things that will set them up. How they react in the face of disappointment, how do they attempt to fit into a new environment and find their own space. How will they decide on a new adventure, what new experiences should they choose. What shall they learn? All of these are very important life skills that a child should learn to grow in them. It’s an award for asking many MANY clarifying questions, so he could understand better what was being taught or asked of him. And so, he got good at being open to ask. If he didn’t know, he would go ask. This is a great habit to cultivate as a kid, you now have the power to find out more in your hands. Ask, and you will receive. An adult will always try to answer you. 😂 It seems like we don’t ask as many open questions as grown-ups anymore. Maybe it’s because we felt like we should already know the answer, or maybe it was just too much to do, or we might be a bother. But if we don’t ask, how do we grow? But try for a few minutes so you know.” This usually gets them trying and most times, they like it enough to stay on for the whole activity. So when my kids ask me to give it a go - why not? So I said yes, and took joined in a competitive tug-of-war game with some parents on Sunday. Right now, my muscles are still in agony today. I DO NOT EXERCISE beyond running after the kids. 😂 It was a lot of fun. I fell in the mud, we lost and we won.
