So I've been thinking lately about how Mithrun is Kabru's dark mirror (more on that another time- it needs its own post), and I thought it interesting that one of their parallels is that they were both cared for by Milsiril, but in opposite directions. She took Kabru in as her foster after he was orphaned and tried to convince him not to become an adventurer. On the flip side, she helped rehabilitate Mithrun specifically so that he could rejoin the Canaries.
And I kept wondering: why?
For Kabru, obviously she loves him a whole lot- despite any other shortcomings in their relationship, I do believe that.
So I get why she tries to convince him not to go dungeoning, and, failing that, at least prepares him as thoroughly as she can.
But why help Mithrun? She used to hate Mithrun, but after realizing what a secretly twisted person he was, she actually thought of him more positively (oh, Milsiril). So it wasn't as if she held the kind of grudge that might motivate her to make his already-depleted life even more miserable by sending him back to the dungeons. And it wasn't that she felt bad for him either, since she didn't visit Mithrun for the first ~20 years of his recovery.
The Adventurer's Bible says that Utaya was the impetus for Mithrun returning to the Canaries, but Milsiril is the one who made the trip to see him and tell him about it.
Why would Milsiril work so hard to get her old coworker back into fighting fit? Why encourage him to return to such a dangerous lifestyle, when she was the one who chose not to mercy-kill him?
That last panel is such a crazy thing to hint at and then never elaborate on. Without it we could have just thought that Milsiril wanted the Canaries' work to continue without her, even if it seemed out of character. I think some people even assume she's just a natural caretaker as a foster mom and handwave it to include nursing Mithrun too. What could Milsiril's suspicious motives be? What does she gain from Mithrun joining the Canaries that isn't an altruistic desire to see dungeons safely sealed? Feeling a sense of responsibility for the work she left behind isn't an ulterior motive.
My theory is: Milsiril, knowing that Mithrun was empty save for the burning desire to face the demon again, wound him up like a clockwork doll and pointed him back at the dungeons.
Hoping that he'd eliminate the biggest threat to Kabru's life, before it was too late for him.
Milsiril the puppetmaster.

I had a big need for a fandom butterfly/moth display.
Updated with an ID: Art drawn to look like a Fictional Moth/Butterfly display case based on 4 characters from The Magnus Archives on a 8.5x11" print.
Big bug center top is labeled as "J. Sims": big green Luna Moth with multiple prominent eyes a bit like an Emperor Moth's markings, and holes in the wings that mimic the holes in a cassette tape. There's an eye on the mid of its body. The markings are more fantastical than the other bugs.
Labeled "M. Blackwood": Silver Clouded moth, smaller, to the right of J. Sims, with a cloudy looking pattern in greys on the wings, and two small dots.
Labeled "N. Sasha": Center-left. A blue butterfly but with markings that look like eyes and possibly claws extending across the top pair of wings. The wings are lined with black and white markings that resemble piano-keys. The lower pair of wings have golden markings that is supposed to resemble calliope pipes.
Labeled "Tim": Takes up the lower right side. A Mourning Cloak butterfly but with orange markings inside the wings that resemble flames. Mainly red wings lined with black then yellow edges, with blue spots across the black.
They are on a board with a spider web stretched across underneath them. The black tape of a cassette tape ribbons around the board in loose loops.

Happy Birthday, Eula!
This is for me? I—I'm not surprised in the slightest! I just think it doesn't look half-bad!
Ahem... As something in return, have a "Fruits of the Festival" on me. After all, it looks like you put a lot of effort into choosing my gift...
Go on, what are you waiting for? You're not going to reject my gift, are you?
Well then... Cheers.

whenever i hear the line "i wish i could have told you that i was born to love you with all my heart" my heart instantly clenches
because i think of baekhong's intertwined fates, i think of hyunwoo not even knowing he saved the person who's going to be the love of his life from drowning, i think of how haein is his first love and him being hers, i think of him always thinking about haein's comfort because she mentioned to him in passing how her heels were uncomfy, i think of how she told only him about her illness because he's the only person she trusts, i think of hyunwoo bringing haein and her family to his hometown without hesitation to keep them safe despite what he's gone through with them, i think of her agreeing to the divorce even though she felt so hurt and betrayed by it because she doesn't want to see him suffer any longer, i think of how he kept protecting the company because he knew how much she loved it, i think of hyunwoo reaching out to every single hospital he could to find a possible cure for her amidst all that he's doing for the company, i think of haein so willing to die just to not lose her memory of loving hyunwoo and being loved by him, i think of how he's the only person that she doesn't want to forget, i think of how hyunwoo is willing to become a stranger to her just so she could live, i think of him destroying his hand just so he could get to haein and save her, i think of her agreeing to do the surgery despite being so terrified because she saw how miserable he would be if she dies, i think of him taking a bullet for her, and i think about how even without her memories of him, haein still and will always inevitably fall in love with hyunwoo.
i think of how they really were born to love each other will all their might, no matter what happens.
