Summary:
It'd be a scandal if anybody found out. They really shouldn't be risking themselves like this.
A human opera singer/ballet dancer AU.
------------
“Zira…”
“Lady Zira for you, at the moment,” she replied coldly. “This is all your fault.”
“Oh, don’t give me that now, angel. How was I supposed to know Michael would get so offended at my suggestions?”
“Offended? you called our Regisseur a wanker!”
“And she is! She doesn’t appreciate you! Shax as the lead? Really? With that squeaky duck voice she has?” Antonia indignantly said, as Zira’s lips fought hard to not curve into a smile at that. “Here, allow me to make it up to you.”

The door clicked shut, the soft snick of the metal filtering through what Melshi realized must have been a doze. He twisted his head, blinking up from the bunk where he’d been attempting to keep himself awake with a holonovel to see Cassian regarding him, his head tilted slightly to the side.
“Didn’t know if I’d catch you,” Cassian remarked. “Debrief ran late.”
“Mmm,” Melshi hummed. “Must’ve dropped off for a moment there.”
“Don’t get up,” Cassian said, and then he stepped up next to the bunk and bent over, his fingers settling against Melshi’s cheeks as he kissed him in greeting.
Melshi hummed again, into Cassian’s mouth this time, letting Cassian part his lips and press in with a slow, determined sweep. He tasted like strong caff - his tongue sharp and warm as it slid through the last, sluggish layers of Melshi’s sleep - and when Melshi wrapped a hand around his forearm, Cassian shifted his fingers to cup the back of Melshi’s neck, kissing Melshi into the steady cradle of his palm.
By the time Cassian pulled away, Melshi’s thoughts were weaving woozily together - his body having apparently identified a more urgent priority down the line.
“I know you said ‘don’t get up,’” Melshi observed, “but you’re actually making that a wee bit difficult at the moment.”
“Oh, am I?” Cassian replied, his eyes crinkling at the sides.
