Devinah Cosmetics Galaxy Dust Shifters Look #1

I used Asteria from Devinah’s Galaxy Dust collection along with a few of the Elf Bite Size Eyeshadows to create this look.

Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation in 1N

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Light 2.5 / Creme Brûlée

Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder – Pretty sure this is being discontinued but I’m using it because it’s very finely milled and mattifies my skin really well. Too Faced Peach Perfect Loose Setting Powder gives me a similar result but isn’t as long lasting.

Hourglass Veil Eye Primer

Devinah Cosmetics Asteria Pressed Pigment (part of the Galaxy Dust Shifters Collection) – I pressed this on with my finger right on top of the primer

Matte warm brown (first shade on left) – Transition shade in crease and on lower lashline

Lightest matte shade – Used this to blend out crease shade

Thoughts:

I’ve been trying out the new eye primer from Hourglass and so far I really like it. It is more of a sticky type of primer and it has been helping with shadows that I find blend away a little too easily. It also seems to last quite well, at least as long my Nars Pro Prime, maybe even longer.

Because the primer is a bit tacky, I went ahead and pressed Asteria (the shimmery shade) right on top of it before laying down any of the matte shadows. This is not typically the order I apply eyeshadows in but this formula needs something sticky to adhere to. Devinah recommends a glitter glue such as NYX Glitter Primer, but the Hourglass primer seems to work just fine as long as I don’t set it. Afterwards, I went around the edges and applied the matte shades. There was some shimmer fallout both during application and while I was blending the matte shades on the edges of the shimmer.

Asteria’s most prominent color shifts are green and reddish purple but it has a warm reddish brown base color. I thought the base color was going to show up more than it did, which is why I chose such a warm brown crease color. In hindsight, I would have chosen a purplish crease color to compliment the purple shift.

Another thing I’m trying is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Mascara. This has also been working out well for me. It lengthens my lashes more than it volumizes and holds a curl well. Today, I forgot to curl my lashes, unfortunately. It isn’t clumpy and doesn’t make my lashes stick together. So far so good.
