DONT take a persons medical device
I shouldn’t have to say that but here we are
One of the managers at work likes to take and hide peoples stuff as a joke. My manager took my pulse ox when I wasn’t looking. When I noticed it was gone I started to panic. A pulse ox is minimum $30 and I’ve had mine for over 7 years and have named it. So yeah I was panicking. I immediately paged my manager to my register and when he arrived I demanded it back. He did give it back.
I informed him that it was stupid and dangerous of him to take a medical device from someone especially like that.
So again

Love these views 🥰
Didn’t love that I was having a migraine and basically needed to do this for real. Lived on painkillers for three days this week, but feeling great today and having a pleasantly stoned evening 😅 pondering what I’ll get up too this weekend. Drop me some suggestions with what you’d like to see 👀💋

Hello disabled friends, drop your disability amazon/online finds here - I'm talking anything that helps you with your disabilities, even if it just comforts you. I know it's hard to find things, and I figured we can all help each other out.
I'll go first - the pulse oximeter I have is currently on sale for 60% off ($32 - I got it for $60, USD). It's approved to be medical grade. Also, even though it's by Apple, you don't need an Apple device to use it or the app.

Does anyone know of a good pulse oximeter brand? I’m looking to buy one potentially next week. Not sure if I trust some of them if they’re all 100% accurate but I suppose all of them are considering it’s a literal medical device haha
Tumblr media
I was thinking this but hmmm…don’t know. It’s from Walmart, but it seems a bit too bold. Any suggestions? :)
I do need to know my little lady’s BPM. I feel like I’m still kind of out of touch because I don’t really know my target heart rate nor do I know her average. That’s also why I’m so lost on how to use health apps because it tells you to put your heart rate down and I’m like “yeah I don’t even know my resting heart rate” haha. Unless I’m over simplifying it but I don’t know lol
I just need something live. Even some apps I’ve heard none of those heart rate trackers are even accurate so might as well go high and mighty for the good ol medical pulse ox

Update on heartrate/OI issues after having the pulse oximeter a little longer.
My heartrate is normal while resting laying down (usually between 80-85bpm) when I stand from lying down it often rises (116bpm or higher) and I get lightheaded but it goes back down to like 95bpm if I’m standing still and around 90bpm sitting still.
However if I do anything other than literally stand in place it gets quite high like around 130bpm and I get dizzy. And I mean like walking upstairs to my room or unloading the dishwasher not doing exercise. I’ve never passed out in my life but I do sometimes feel unsteady or get dizzy and have blurred vision and feel like I’m going to fall.
I feel like it’s definitely not normal but I don’t really know what to do at this point because I’m still trying to get my rheumatology appointment scheduled and that was honestly just to discuss fibromyalgia but I’m going to at least ask about ME during the appointment as well.
Now I think I’m going to at look into POTS as well because I’m not sure what else to do. Anyway if anyone has advice/resources I’d appreciate it, otherwise I’ll keep updating.

Just spent the last of my paycheck on Vitassium for my recent uptick in POTS issues (thanks consistent 90° weather!)
I have run out of Nuun tablets (I've been using these to tide me over until I can get actual salt tablets) and am in need of compression stockings.
My mental well-being would also likely improve if I were able to get a pulse oximeter, as I've been much more faint lately and am freaked that it might be low oxygen. I've yet to faint due to POTS, but this summer is the weakest I've felt with the highest HR I've seen since starting to monitor.
None of these are especially pricey, but I am having a hard time waiting until my next paycheck and will likely need to immediately spend all of that paycheck on bills and have yet to get an update if I'll even get the financial assistance I've applied for.
If anyone can share, I would be extremely grateful. It's not an exaggeration to say this is life-saving (or at least helps me to maintain my quality of life).
In total I'd need around $80-100 for two sets of socks, two bottles of Nuun, and the oximeter, and that's only if I get the cheapest of the cheap options (seriously, compression socks are no joke price-wise and will run me $40 just for two sets, ugh)
