“VIAJEROS EN EL TIEMPO” (RIVERSIDE 20 AÑOS DE HISTORIA)

El pasado domingo 8 de mayo del 2022, fue la celebración número 20 de la banda polaca de metal /rock progresivo “Riverside”, un evento que se daría desde el año 2020, pero debido a la pandemia del COVID -19, la cual sacudió a todo el mundo se tuvo que reprogramar. Este evento fue en el Auditorio Blackberry de la CDMX, por otro lado, la mercancía oficial oscilaba entre los $450 pesos hasta los $800 pesos, de regalo daban un poster del tour. Poco a poco el lugar fue llenando su capacidad en la sección de planta baja, el evento comenzó en punto de las 8:00 pm con la banda mexicana de metal “Nexus”, tocando alrededor de media hora. Posteriormente hubo un receso y en punto de las 9:30 pm subió al escenario “Riverside”, para deleitar a los fanáticos con varias canciones ya clásicas dentro de su repertorio musical, llegaron con mucha energía, amabilidad y cariño para el público mexicano, el cual tenían olvidado desde hace 7 años, cuando se presentaron en el Lunario de la CDMX, con un lleno total. Así, el evento del Auditorio Blackberry, término a las 11:00 pm.

Esa noche, fue dedicada a todas aquellas personas que comenzaban a sumergirse en el mundo del metal progresivo con esta banda, también para esos fanáticos de antaño que seguían sus pasos. Tocaron un setlist enfocado a sus trabajos anteriores a “Wasteland” el más reciente de la banda, como: #Addicted, Time Travellers, Second Life Syndrome, entre otros.

Dedicaron la pieza Towards the Blue Horizon a un miembro clave y cofundador de la banda, el guitarrista Piotr Grudzinski, el cual murió debido a una condición física, dejando a la banda tambaleándose en el año 2015, incluso llegaron a pensar en desintegrar a la banda, por ello, tomaron un receso y en realidad no cumplían 20 años, sino 21 debido a ese luto que duró 1 año completo, sin producir música o tocar en vivo, por esa razón no lo toman en cuenta y lo cerraron a 20 años. Fue de los momentos más emotivos de la noche, no solamente, para los integrantes de la banda sino también para los asistentes. Fue una velada llena de recuerdos, risas, anécdotas, diversión, nostalgia y no se fueron sin antes prometer que volverán para el año 2023, con su próxima producción discográfica, la cual verá la luz en el mes de junio 2022 (aún es un secreto) fuimos los primeros en enterarnos de esos planes. Así que hay más Riverside para rato.
