Albums of the Week! No new releases this time…just sweet, sweet back catalog. The winner was one of my favorite albums ever: Skeletonwitch’s Beyond The Permafrost. Next, I tried out Cauldron based on @heathen_hammer’s recommendation, and I loved it. Most of you probably know that Dio recorded a final album with Black Sabbath that was released under the “Heaven & Hell” name (“The Devil You Know”), and it is choice. The live album of the week was from Alice In Chains. Finally, I gave Misfts’ Legacy of Brutality a nostalgic spin, as I haven’t listened to it much since Static Age came out and essentially replaced it. Albums of the Week! Blackbraid takes the top spot with their newly released sophomore album. Tribunal was next, and it is excellent gothic doom metal. Hat tip to @borntoonate (Nate from Spirit Adrift and Gatecreeper) for recommending the new Majesties album in his “best of 2023 so far” YouTube video (you should all be subscribed to his channel!). The new Necropanther is definitely still hitting hard after dozens of listens. Yup: 2x Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath albums here.
