God this panel took me right the fuck out. On the one hand, what else can they do? Marcille's the only member of the party skilled enough in magic to do resurrection spells. Laois straight up tells her he's giving her the neck armour because she's the healer, the one they can't afford to lose; she can rez the rest but if she dies, they're all doomed. And it's a uniquely cruel position for Marcille to be in because of her deep, aching fear of outliving everyone she loves, a fear that Laios has to be aware of on some level, even if he doesn't clearly remember the nightmare he rescued Marcille from... but even if he was fully aware of it, that doesn't change the fact that she's the only one of them who can rez. It's inescapable that she has to be in this position, just as, in the end, it's inescapable that she will outlive everyone in this panel even if they live to ripe old ages. Marcille being forced to microdose her inevitable looming grief is a great setup for her making the decision she does when they meet the Winged Lion--how can she go through this again, for real?

I've been thinking about Astarion's approval, or more specifically, his disapproval. And I think I've been missing one crucial factor that makes it make so much more sense.

There is a conversation where he tells the PC how he became a vampire and he says that Cazador saved him. Cazador. The monster who tortured and enslaved him for centuries. Saved him. And later that conversation, he says that heroes didn't save him from Cazador, Mindflayers did. Again, saved him for something awful.

He doesn't trust you yet. He doesn't know whether you are going to want something from the people you save. He keeps half expecting being saved to turn into a nightmare they can't escape, as it did for him. I don’t think he is completely consciously aware of it, but I think that is so much of why he disapproves. It's not that he lacks empathy for the people you encounter, but his empathy is all tangled up in his paranoia.

And after a while he gets a lot less likely to disapprove of saving people. Because he starts to trust you, and trusts you won't make the lives you save into living hells.

I feel like the absolute funniest resolution to the graphic novel blue Taako era would be to keep him blue but make Lup a normal human colour. Just make his twin sister an average skin colour and keep Taako blue. He's actually just like that for the drama TM. It's a constant glamour bc he thinks it makes him look cooler.

Now that I've been working for multiple years, the whole "if we raise [minimum] wage to be livable, then prices will skyrocket!!!" idea is really just corporate bootlicking and pretty asinine when you're witnessing prices (in real time!) increase astronomically for the same quality of product while your raises as a worker are only 10¢ increases at a time at most.

The prices are already skyrocketing, yet the minimum wage is comparatively stagnant. I wonder why this could be, because it isn't the greedy workers that are price gouging you.

okay, but putting aside the comedic aspect of this, it is concerning the amount of people who are prompted to vote for candidates just because it's funny. I'm not the biggest fan of how his policy about the boarder sounds [Site], but I do implore anyone who is able to vote in the 2024 US election to please research other candidates.

The media is only going to continue pushing the idea it's inevitably going to be Trump vs Biden 2.0 and we have no other options, that we have to vote for Biden again because of Project 2025. Is that whole thing terrifying?

But voting for Biden will not solidify our safety from that. Biden is exactly like the rest of them. He always has been. You can't make the lesser of two evils argument when they're both just plain evil.

You cannot say that Biden is even mildly a better choice than Trump when he is currently directly involved in a genocide. That is not some little fucking thing. That in and of itself disqualifies him as a lesser evil. Biden is just as bad as him and he will not save us because he doesn't fucking care.

I've been talking to my sister a lot about cowboy!König specifically because she is like "how are neither of them making a move, I would've made a move!" And I agree but oh my God.

Cowboy!König has live over half his life as a soldier, this is his first time knowing he's going to live through the day! It's his first space where he can breathe and be a person! He doesn't know how to interact with Bee, so he treats her like an intelligence target. He's collecting information on her so that he doesn't make a wrong move, but he also is trying to ingratiate himself to her. Bee is also the first person to really show him any kindness and he desperately doesn't want to lose that. So he's incredibly nervous about making a wrong move and ends up with some decision paralysis. Which you know is absolutely damning if you have an anxiety disorder.

Bee is sort of in the same boat of not wanting to make a move and assume that König is trying to fuck her because it would sort of break her heart to know that was all he wanted from her. Which isn't even true, the man is trying to wife her up. And I think König half knows this, which just ups his decision anxiety even more because he desperately doesn't want to be the bad guy for this woman he is head over heels for.

Cowboy!König is such an acts of service lover that I think he is sort of hoping if he does enough for Bee she'll just understand that he's in love with her and they'll get engaged on the spot. Bee is reaching a boiling point though, after all the help with the animals I don't think she can say König is just being neighborly anymore.

Fae!König is in the exact same boat. Acts of service is his love language and that sort of butt against Liebling who is also an acts of service person haha. She can't in good faith show König she cares about him because she's trying not to incur any debts. That's why they have such a long courtship.

gensokyo's charm point is that it's not so much scary as just kind of weird and unsettling, really. if it's actively hostile then it reduces the like... the good will, i suppose, towards the setting. it's almost crucial that it's not merely trying but succeeding to be good, and that part of that Being Good is that most of the youkai are basically just doing what kogasa does but being better at it bc they all have knives

also the zounose approach works but you have to Commit to it and honestly i've only ever seen zounose commit to it in the right way

i have many many many critiques about wylls story, most of them being about the fact it's just so lackluster in game when compared to other companions which is a shame. because wyll to me is and has the potential to be an even more emotionally compelling companion. and he was early access!! he was so gritty in ea please bring him back larian i beg of thee. the way he was rewritten has stripped him of so much nuance and depth. wyll to me is such a wonderful character to me because of what he represents, which is heroism so down to his core he never gives up on it even when he ought to

his goodwill and nobility are ceaseless. at the center of his story is betrayal trauma, his agency over himself vanished into thin air. mizora turns him into a monster and there is no turning back. he has become the thing he's despised, the things he's hunted for his entire life. and we know so little about that canonically because of the way his story is set up but its hinted time and time again that he struggles with his reality deeply and even that cannot make him turn away from the city he loves so much.

if larian would go back to clean up and fix his story (which im truly praying to god they do) i want them to touch on what wyll must be going through as he continues to try to ground himself and deal with his newfound reality. i want them to touch on the abandonment he experiences because of his father and the inevitable burden his title as blade and hero has on him. because these things obviously compel him, they're hinted at all the time but they were completely stripped of him in final release and its fucking disheartening... larian please im begging you. thats the love of my life. please.

but for now i will do it with fanfiction and gather enough wyll fans to make a fuss about it . peace and love
