Six weeks along..

I still can’t believe I have a little one growing in my belly. Peanuts little arm and leg flippers are growing and his/her heart should be growing right now too! I have my first appointment in 2 weeks and I’ll schedule an ultrasound after that. I can’t wait to see our little one, and I say a prayer every single night for God to keep me and our little peanut healthy. ❤️

I'm not going to lie; I've been struggling with body image issues and self confidence during this pregnancy. If you were to ask anyone close to me, I hate having my picture taken and I always ask that they be deleted/not posted (for creeper reasons as well - there's some weirdos out there!). BUT I know I'll want to look back on these when I no longer have my little chica in my belly (I'm already sad thinking about not feeling her little movements inside of me) and that she'll appreciate seeing them when she's older (like I do seeing pictures of mi mami pregnant with me in my baby book). The first time I heard my baby’s heartbeat was the same day I finished the first draft of Hunter’s Moon. I was riding a total high, overwhelmed by the joy of creation in it’s many forms. Baby is late (or not because we all know babies are like wizards and arrive precisely when they mean to) and as we creep up on the Hunter’s Moon (and the release date of my novel by the same name), I can’t help but feel like it’s all connected. I believe in magic of many kinds but mostly I believe in the magic of timing. The twists and turns that happen during life happen for a reason, happen as they need to, happen when it’s time for us to grow. It’s been easy for me to be patient during this long (very, very long, if you ask the herd of Grandmas that have been biting their nails since mid September) wait because I know there is divinity in this time.
