WE ALWAYS MUST DO SOMETHING!
WE ALWAYS MUST DO SOMETHING
Joshua 5:1-10

Joshua 5 teaches us that divine change doesn’t occur solely by God’s decree; we must also take action. We each have a role in receiving God’s blessings and favour. If we neglect our part, we disconnect from God’s part. It’s essential to understand that we must take certain steps to fully experience God’s work in our lives.
Many of us are waiting for God to act, but God is waiting for our obedience. We must do what He has called us to do in the natural world, so He can add His “super” to it. Our prayers and declarations should be accompanied by practical actions. After praying and expressing faith, we must do something while waiting for God’s supernatural intervention.
In the current voting season, people must decide who to vote for. Some may choose not to exercise their right, yet they may be the most vocal when things go wrong. They desire change like everyone else but are unwilling to take practical action.
2 Timothy 2:6 tells us that the hard-working farmer should be the first to receive his share of the crops. Why? Because he took action! He planted, watered, tended, and then waited on the Lord for the rain and good harvest. If he hadn’t done his part, God wouldn’t have anything to work with.
We must work hard, just like the farmer, to put in the effort in our field of work. Put the work in whatever the Lord has called us to, that’s what He blesses, favours and increases. Whether you’re a student, a professional, or a homemaker, strive to do your best. Do your part!
Identify your role so you can understand where you fit in God’s plan. Identify what God is calling you to do in your life. This could be related to your career, relationships, personal growth, or service to others.
One thing, so many believers fail to do is exercise their rights. Their right as ambassadors of God to participate actively in our community and society. When it’s called for, we must step out to vote, voice our opinions, and stand up for what we believe in before asking God to do something on our behalf.
In Exodus 14, Moses had to raise his staff for God to part the sea. At the wedding in Cana of Galilee in John 2, the servants had to fill the stone pots with water for Jesus to perform the miracle. The Lord will never do our part. We must always take action. If we obey God and do what we’re meant to do, He will do His part, leading to the supernatural outcome we desire.
Joshua did something—he circumcised the people in the wilderness. Only then could God allow them into the land flowing with milk and honey. Our obedience to God’s instructions paves the way for divine intervention and miracles. We always must do something but if you aren’t sure where to start, start small: begin with small acts of obedience and service. Remember, even Moses had to raise his staff, and the servants at the wedding had to fill the pots with water.
Like Joshua, we too must be willing to always take action and wholeheartedly obey God’s instructions. By doing so, God will lift us up in due season, as promised in 1 Peter 5:6.
I am taking action by writing this fresh manna. If I hadn’t started when the Lord gave me the vision, it wouldn’t be available for you to read. What do you need to do for God to step in and do His part? Get on with it. Enduring to the end is keep holding on to our faith, even in tough times to receive our rewards. God’s blessings come to those who endure to the end as stated in Hebrew 10:36.
Prayer: Father, you are my strength and wisdom. Help and guide me to always act on your word and knowledge for my upliftment in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom

After his little crack in BJU Chapel on Monday, Steve Pettit is holding a prayer vigil tonight at 9pm.
Don't be bitter now, Steve. Have you gone to the Board personally before holding this meeting? You just need to lay this down.

my dad went to the library to get some books (his goal is to read more this new year) and he brought me back a lil announcement abt a 'bring your own craft' kinda event that happens every Friday from 10 to 12
on the one hand: possibly a cool way to make crafting friends, get out of the house, go to the library more often
on the other hand: the odds of me being conscious before 12pm most of the time is Extremely Low

the assumption that Imogen (and previously Ashton) never recieved any assistance from the gods because they didn't pray "correctly" is interesting to me. is there some specific procedure for acceptable prayer in Exandria? if you don't do it right is it like texting the wrong number and the Gods just don't get the message? or are they just putting cries for help that don't follow their formatting and content guidelines at the bottom of the pile lmao

NEVER BE TOO BUSY
NEVER BE TOO BUSY
Luke 10:36-42

In today’s fast-paced world, it seems everyone is constantly busy. We’re always rushing, always on the move, and yet, we’re arguably the most self-absorbed generation yet. Our busyness often prevents us from being kind and considerate in our interactions with others, particularly fellow believers, as Galatians 6:10 advises. Despite Galatians 6:2 urging us to share each other’s burdens, we often claim we’re too busy.
We should never be so occupied that we neglect to do what’s right and decent. After all, Christ is never too preoccupied for us. Jesus instructs us in Matthew 22:39 to love others as we love ourselves. We’re never too busy for ourselves, are we?
Unfortunately, we seem to have regressed to the mindset of Cain in Genesis 4:9, asking, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” It’s a troubling trait for a nation, and even more so for believers, that we’re too preoccupied to care for others. Yet, ironically, we expect others to care for us.
Everyone has the same twenty-four hours in a day, no more, no less. Yet, we often find ourselves wishing for more time, despite not making the most of the time we have. We feel overwhelmed by our to-do lists and the relentless ticking of the clock. In our rush to complete tasks, we risk losing sight of what truly matters. We risk becoming like automatons, devoid of personal, social, spiritual, and familial connections.
When we become overly busy, we risk resembling Martha, neglecting what’s truly important. We must strive to be more like Mary, who chose what was better, and it will not be taken away from her. The memories we create through interpersonal relationships are ours to keep.
James 1:26-27 outlines what true religion is, which includes caring for those in distress. Jesus also states in Matthew 25:40 that our faith and obedience are demonstrated by how we treat those in need. Yet, we often claim we’re too busy for this.
People need to experience God’s love through us and see His light within us. We spend ample time on social media, watching TV, movies, and playing games, yet we often can’t spare a few minutes to show Jesus’s love to others.
Christ is never too busy for us; how can we justify being too busy for His creation? We must strive to share each other’s burdens and ensure we’re not making life harder for anyone. Let’s not be too busy to lend a helping hand.
PRAYER: Lord, grant me the grace to prioritize what needs to be done and to do it when it’s needed. Help me not to be unnecessarily busy and to focus on what’s truly important, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom

I think about Wolfwood having a rosary that he wears and Vash taking it from Nic to wear on his journey after burrying him.
I think about Vash rolling the beads in his hands absentmindedly when he’s anxious
It brings him comfort it’s almost like wolfwood’s there

considering spiderleg is like *that* and squirelflight being diehard fire alone i cant imagine them being friends in BB like they were sort of in the canon books. were they or did it disolve after time passed and spiderleg got more into traditional/thistle law. also who were her other friends? i saw daisy was in another ask but who else (really eager to know who booed at mousefur and thronclaw lol)
So to begin with, Squirrelflight is in an odd place, generation-wise. She is born while Firestar is on his quest with Brokenstar, and grows up in a period of peace and prosperity.
Unfortunately she keeps failing her goddamn assessments
So while Leafstripe is a fully trained Cleric, Sorreltail recovered from being hit by a car and graduated, and Ashfur tried to hold out for her for a while before moving up, Squirrelpaw is here absolutely eating leaf litter with her wrecklessness
Goldenflower, her mentor, even tries to tell Firestar that she's not being vindictive, just in case he got the wrong idea. He assures her that, no. No he understands <:/
So Spider, Shrew, and Squirrel end up as apprentices together. There was a time where they were really close, getting in trouble in spite of their three strict mentors. Bad influence trio, all of them coming from respected parents and doing their best to embarass them.
That only started to change when Squirrelpaw went on the Great Journey, but then returned just in time to see Shrewpaw die. A lot of things were different, now. Squirrelpaw came back exalted for being on a holy quest. Spiderpaw had watched a lot of his clanmates die. She was spending more time with Brambleclaw; he had become very protective of his little brother, Birchkit.
They had both grown in a flash. Hard times will do that to you.
During the Great Journey, Spiderpaw was really close to the other Clan apprentices while Squirrelpaw hung out with the Sundrown Patrol. Spider looks back at this time in his life with a lurch in his stomach that he can't put into words.
He was there when Paw Soup was made. Talonclaw and Smokefall were friends of his even more than they were friends of little Birchkit. Spiderleg just left it behind when they got to the Lake, where his little brother never could. Clan loyalty, strength, honor... all that. He felt like he had to make a choice.
As a person, Spiderleg is torn in many directions by all of the things that happened to him. His head-of-construction father, his educator mother, his friend who won status by breaking the rules, three dead siblings before his warriorhood, the destruction of his ancestral home, the journey that challenged everything, his mentor Thornclaw, the backfired meeting, ardor for Daisy, crashing down with unwanted kits...
His consistent trait is that he's easily swept up in whatever fills him with the most passion, tossing himself into things until a bubbling sense of disgust makes him break it off. Regardless of if it was the good thing to do or not.
Religious euphoria and self-flagellation just seems to stabilize that impulse, for him.
The last time he was friends with Squilf was during their vigil upon reaching the Lake. They did it together, because they were both long overdue. He thought about Shrewpaw, and wondered if she did too.
But neither one of them broke the silence between them. They still haven't.

On for a sec to update but probably going to uninstall again soon ✨️ Baby girl is doing great at 39+1 but she has been stubbornly transverse for almost a week now. If she can turn cephalic again, our perinatologist believes she is strong enough for a vaginal delivery attempt so we will be able to try that, but if she remains transverse we are going to have to do a C-section. Please pray that what is best for her will happen ♡
