just one girl's opinion but Grimes We Appreciate Power and SOPHIE Immaterial can both be understood in the context of transhumanism and ✨gender✨ except that the former is a dystopia Grimes doesn't even know is a dystopia and the latter is an anthem of radical body anarchy and this makes perfect sense when you consider that Grimes is a cis girl obsessed with Elon Musk while SOPHIE was a trans girl obsessed with the moon

Been lurking in Star Wars fandom for a bit now, and it is a bit large and intimidating compared to my cozy Cobra Kai fandom, so I shall continue merely to lurk.

But. An incredible author named Glimmerglanger just left AO3 and deleted all their work and after they did, I noticed that my messages in my inbox had gone down by just one. Which meant that this author, whose work i so admired, had only replied to one comment from me. Which meant I had only left one comment on their work, since they were very diligent about replying to comments.

And I absolutely loved all of their work, truly madly deeply! There were scores of glowing comments I could have left, and didn’t. I was too much in the shadows, too shy.

I feel so sad that they’ve had a negative fandom experience, and I also feel sad that I let my shyness keep me from leaving lots of comments expressing my profound gratitude for their work. Going forward, I shall be religious about leaving comments on things I read. Even if the comment is not eloquent, even if I’m in a rush and it’s just a few words of praise or thanks.

In Cobra Kai fandom, our beloved Rosa Macchio was always MVP, because she read seemingly every story and commented “I loved” on each one. And each comment felt genuine and warmed our hearts so much! All it takes is a little love.

Glimmerglanger, your work was absolutely wondrous, unique, wildly creative, moving, and delightful. Thank you so, so much for sharing it with us. I wish you well, with all of my heart. ❤️
