Sharing my cool birthmark cause i rarely see people who have these
It's called a port wine stain, they seem to mostly show up around the face but i have mine on my right arm (also mine is pretty big, it goes all the way up to my shoulder!)
Port wine stains are cause by a vascular anomaly (something with blood vessels fusing with the skin in some way) and they're mostly harmless.
Fun fact they change color depending on your body temperature, so if i'm somewhere cold or just got out of swimming my birthmark changes to a darker purple tone, and if it's really hot it becomes a brighter red (in the pictures above it's in a neutral state)
Another fun fact is that if you poke it the red goes away for a second before coming back(like when you poke your nail and it goes white while you press it)
Some answers to qestions ppl ask me all the time lmao:
no it's not an allergy/allergic reaction
It doesn't hurt in any way, it's just skin
it doesn't have a different texture
no i didn't burn my arm xD
