The forest is lush with life and fey where our satyr comes from. In these human lands, the furry beasts have fewer horns and stripes but enjoy her tunes the same still.
A family of mushrooms with thick stems and red hats grow by a tree stump. The once sturdy tree has been cut down to serve as a bridge over a flowing river.
Following the man-made path may lead her to whoever cut it down. They must have been strong, and heroes need their strength!
However, humans often settle near rivers and waterholes. Following the river would lead her to more humans. More heroes!
Don't forget to reblog to help her on her quest 🧚‍♀️✨️

---
Despite his resolve to graduate high school, Dan still had that itch for destruction.
The thrill of using his power against something and overcoming it.
Doomed, the online game, was different than real life.
The monsters were fake; the town was only disguised computer code.
But blasting everything in the level and seeing the ground littered with nothing but the same three images of splintered wood and drifting smoke, still gave him that giddy feeling of accomplishment.
And when the objects came back after fifteen minutes, he could do it all over again.
It was good enough for now. A way to lay low until he got that diploma.
While Dan was enjoying himself, he heard an unexpected voice.
Well, if 'voice' was the right word. Using ghost powers to physically enter a computer program did strange things to his perception. Everything he saw and heard were signals interpreted by his mind and imagination. Including the very human, but generic voice he imagined hearing behind him. Or, rather than 'behind' him, from outside of the section of code he was paying attention to.
When he 'turned around', he recognized his old Doomed avatar, along with Sam's and Tucker's.
Even while the three of them had a conversation about homework, Dan expected his past self to eventually fight him. If for no other reason than videogame fun or childish morals.
So he was surprised to realize the fight he was waiting for wouldn't happen.
"You're just going to leave?"
Dan had only heard his past self's side of the conversation, Sam and Tucker having whispered too quietly to make out their words, but he gathered that Sam had offered to help his past self raise his grades.
It reminded Dan of how much work he still needed to catch up on.
Too much time had passed since he'd last been in school, making him unable to pick up where he'd left off. And the current schoolwork was a few months ahead of where he'd been. Not that he'd been caught up at that point. He'd been slipping behind as the CAT approached.
"Yeah. You win. Have fun blasting everything."
So much for Doomed taking his mind off of the nearly impossible task for a few hours.
"Wait," Dan said a bit impulsively.
The three of them didn't move for a couple seconds, so he figured they were staying to see what he wanted. He imagined their expressions behind their helmets urging him to continue. He sighed and said, "Look. I have several months' worth of work I need to catch up on in class; can I join you?"
The three of them almost talked on top of each other.
"What's with the aitch-aitch-aitch-aitch-aitch? Is that supposed to be some kind of sound effect?" Tucker asked.
"We probably don't even go to the same school," his past self said.
"You're the transfer student, aren't you?" Sam asked.
"Yes."
"'Yes' you're the transfer student?" his past self asked. "I guess that explains the Phantom username. But you still have no idea who we even are."
"You called her 'Sam'," he pointed out. "And the name 'FRYERTUCK' isn't exactly subtle."
"Okay, I guess that makes sense."
---
Danny was curious about the transfer student, despite being more concerned about Vlad.
Talking to him face-to-face would probably help with figuring out more about him and maybe why he looked so much like Danny, and even had almost the same name.
After agreeing to let him study with them and deciding on the specifics, they all logged out of the game to meet.

Tumblr media
After walking for a while in the Murky Forest, the road splits into three paths!
A rocky path leads into a shadier part of the forest.

Today is March 28, 2020. It's currently 3:46 AM. You couldn't sleep, so you went for a walk, and came across that really awesome store that passes through sometimes. You just wanted to window shop and weren't really planning on buying anything, but you just couldn't pass up that Gameboy cartridge. You haven't played a pokemon game since you were a kid, and one of your supposed friends stole your copy of Yellow. That nostalgia was really calling to you. Practically pulsing from within the cartridge. Telling you to pick it up. It's green and just has "Pokemon" written on the front in faded sharpie, there's a good chance it's just some bootleg or rom-hack, but you don't care. You just hope it works, now that you're looking at it in the bright light of the parking garage, you can see that it looks a little chewed on. That's probably why the store owner advised against buying it, but it's worth a try. What do you have to lose?
Tumblr media
You dig out your old Gameboy Color, pop some new batteries in, and try the cartridge. Lo and behold, it works! The title screen immediately pops up. It doesn't prompt you to press start, and the options to continue or start a new game never appear. It has already begun.

Poll adventures need to be a bigger thing and I guess there’s no way to do that other than well…
lets plot the basics, shall we?
I don’t want to do this but I’m never gonna get better at this stuff by thinking about it really hard, right?

And some argument. Maybe a fist fight or two. The decision is made to go down the left fork.
The party wanders down the hall which opens into a small cavern. You walk cautiously until someone near the front bumps into something...

"Bzzzt?"
The party has stumbled upon Mothman.

The hooded figures stare at our satyr, never having seen anything like her before. It's been a long time since fey kind has been seen by humans.
Likewise, our satyr has not encountered a human up until now. Their weapons are aimed at her but they haven't fired another arrow, and she hopes they won't. Clutching her panpipe to her chest, she swallows her nervosity.
"Hi! I'm Oli!" She waves with one hand. They don't lower their weapons, nor do they speak up. "Are you robbers? I've heard about robbers, but I don't have anything worth robbing, sorry."
The figure in front unveils their face. A dark beard covers half of it. "What are you? Why do you walk in these woods?"
"I'm Oli! I'm looking for heroes!" She doesn't understand why they laugh at this, but at least they've lowered their weapons. "Are you one of the three?"
"There are no heroes in these lands!" The figure gives her a stern look. "They all ran from the blight that poisoned our water supply, infected our food and..." They put an arm around the small one near them.
She looks at the small one, the child, and bends down to be their height. "Are you sick, little one?"
"We all are," another figure pipes up with a raspy voice.
Looking around at the group of humans, Oli is unsure what to do. For her journey, the Elder One gave her red berries that cure illness but she's unsure of their potency with this one.

Part 3 of my Dan adventure poll fic. (You can still vote on previous parts as long as the polls are active. I'm trying to find the top few options.) Links: Beginning Post. Part 2.
---
Dan bared his fangs at Plasmius. He could feel his eyes brighten in anger, ectoplasm revving as he fought against the lingering effects of the collar.
"Alright, you're not happy with me. I understand. But hear me out. A partnership between the two of us will be mutually beneficial: you'll get to rampage and overpower all the ghosts you like throughout the Ghost Zone, and I'll get to rule in the aftermath of your destruction."
"No deal," Dan growled, leaping at Vlad.
Halfway there, Vlad pointed a small device, and Dan let out a strangled shout and fell hard to his knees. His back arched as he struggled against the electricity snaking through his body.
"I'm afraid the deal has already been made. You don't have a say in the matter."
Dan glared as he tried to regain his breath.
In the silence, Vlad's eyes drifted. "Why do you wear Danny Phantom's childish little hero logo? Has he branded you after your defeat?"
"No one... brands me... you fruit loop!"
Vlad's expression faded to blankness, and his eyes widened. "Daniel?"
(If there's a clear enough winner after 3 days, I may have a new poll up around Wednesday. But I'll still be interested in seeing final results at the end of a week, and the more votes a poll gets the more motivated I am to write.)

This is a Poll - Choose Your Own Adventure - When She Stopped Picking Scabs - Part 2
A few heads turned to the opening door. It wasn't until the quieting voices changed to deafened silence did more heads notice the extra guests enter the ballroom. That silence was then broken by a tiny *tink* as Scorpia's pincers pinched through the stem of her champagne glass and the room echoed of glass chattering on the floor.
"Uh- I uh- I'm sorry- I'll just um," Scorpia crouched down to pick of the broken glass, but her eyes wouldn't break away from Catra and Adora's. Each piece she picked up immediately shattered into tinier pieces.
Perfuma quietly patted her arm to help her up and let her know it was okay to just leave it.
"You... your here," came a voice. She ran her hand over glittered hair, "I mean..., you're actually here!"
"Uh yeah," she scratched the back of her head a little sheepishly, "I am, Sparkles."
Then sparkles disappeared.
"Don't teleport me, Sparkles. Don't teleport me, Sparkles!"
She reappeared with hands on Catra's shoulders and a wide, toothy grin.
"DON'T-TELEPORT-ME-SPARKLES!"
🌟 poof 🌟
🌟 poof  🌟 again
They stood on a narrow beam of a decorative arch that jut from the wall. Catra's reaction to the change of perspective was not taken lightly. Her nails dug in and clung to the adjacent wall with a noticeable *scrtch*.
"Are you crazy!?" she shrieked. "A-Adora she's tryin' to kill me!"
"Glimmerrrrr...," came a weak admonishment.
"This will only take a second," she rebuffed and then turned to the small group of friends in her ball room. "She's here you guys! Everyone say happy birthday!"
And everyone, from below, raised their glasses - except for Scorpia who raised her pincer instead - and wished her one in an uproar of collected voices.
"Th-thanks," she said back. She looked at them. The smiles on their faces. She wondered if they really did this every year or if they knew she'd come around this time. Or maybe they'd chanced Adora convincing her to come. Waves of joy with a hint of guilt filled her. Guilt only because she refused so many times. They had to have understood why..., right?
Either way, it was her day.
"Alright Sparkles," she said in a way that only Glimmer could hear. Only a small taste of a growl was in her voice. "Get me down."
Glimmer smiled in a way that seemed to between pushing her off the ledge and making her land on her feet or teleporting her down nicely. "Sure thing, Horde Scum."
🌟 poof 🌟
Catra held her head and gave a mild groan. Glimmer only told her that she should be used to it by now and elbowed her. When Catra looked up again, she saw those same smiling faces looking back. She said, "What...?" in that elongated questioning voice that searched those questioning faces.
The crowd seemed reserved. Perfuma wanted to start, but so did Bow and they both stopped to let the other speak first. Then it was Scorpia, Frosta, and Sea Hawk's turn to fumble their words over each other. Then finally, it was Entrapta who broke the cringe with a shriek, "Oh, this is taking way too long! I've already done this social experiment. Catra, have some tiny hors d'oeuvres." Quickly, a flash of purple had curled around a group of micro-quiches and promptly shoved into Catra's mouth before she could protest.
And Catra, with residual anger after being teleported uncomfortably was now finding new irritation with being force fed. That was, of course, until the flavors melted over her tongue. She took a long breath from her nose, "These are-" she chewed more. "These are good." Entrapta clapped her fingertips in celebration along side her prehensile hair doing the same.
"Oh, by the way," she said as she raised a clump of her hair and dividing it eight ways like fingers of a mutated hand. She began to count off, "Frosta wants to know if you want to see the cooler ice sculpture of you and her punching things. Apparently you have a lot of spikes."
"Entrapta! it was supposed to be a surprise!"
Completely ignoring, Entrapta continued, "Mermista wants you to 'chill out' at the hot tub with her for quote unquote girl talk which I find strange. It's usually just her talking about her husband and the things he sets on fire and the current book obsession she has." A groan emanated from behind. "But we all know how you are with your," she lowered her voice even though everyone could still hear, "fear of water."  She continued, "Spinnerella and Netossa said they arranged for all of us to play laser tag later tonight and you're on their team."
"Entrapta come on!"
"Perfuma and Scorpia want you to dance with them when the music starts again. She would be starting the music? I actually felt my hips move, it was very fascinating. Anyway, Bow and Glimmer-"
Glimmer teleported her away before she could say more. Bow then explained, "Uhh, sorry about that. We're all just excited to see you. Surprised too. Good surprised. And um, welcome!
Catra had to blink to process. "I really don't know what to say."
Adora wrapped her arms around her from behind, "Happy birthday."
Bow gestured at the distant Entrapta on the other side of the room where Catra assumed Glimmer was explaining why Entrapta couldn't just spoil all their gift ideas like that. Bow asked,
