Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, has once again dismissed reports claiming he will be contesting for a public office in 2023. The transport chairman, who is set to launch a book titled, ‘My Service to Humanity’, said the book had nothing to do with 2023 politics but to correct many misconceptions about him. MC Oluomo, who spoke through his spokesman, Jimoh Buhari, said he had no political ambition at the moment. Responding to the buzz the book had generated online, Buhari said, “The book is not yet ready but should be launched around March when MC Oluomo’s birthday will be held. “The book is just about MC Oluomo’s experiences, his history and his life story. There are many misconceptions about him and the book gives him the opportunity of clearing the air on many issues. “It is certainly not about 2023 politics.     Around a week has passed since Dougie's wedding, and the dust has more or less settled where the drama is concerned. At least, as settled as it can be considering the family in question. How long it will stay that way remains to be seen.  TJ is out of the hospital and in yet another recovery after his last coke binge went way too far. Mom's job is safe, but that asshole is the acting president. And his brother is married.

    That's a whole lot to happen in the space of a few days.

     So it's safe to say that a little break from all the crap surrounding them is definitely welcomed. Needed, in fact.

    With the honeymoon and everything, and TJ seeking out a hookup or two to get his mind off being in the newspapers yet AGAIN, he barely had the chance to see or speak to his twin, and certainly not alone. Until now.

    Dusk has set in, and the brothers are on the front steps on the house with bottles of beer in hand. They had exchanged small talk about this and that, and how Dougie's honeymoon went. But the thing about being twins? TJ just knows that something is on his brother's mind. Something big. Something he wasn't telling him. The drugs haven't done a thing to numb the older Hammond's senses where Dougie is concerned.

    It can't be about his job. Dougie would surely talk about that without a moment's hesistation. TJ guesses it could be about his last hospital visit, and he still feels guilty about it. He hadn't been trying to hurt himself that time —  only wanted to numb his pain after seeing Sean again, but he lost control. Couldn't stop snorting that stuff once he started. There had been no one there to stop him.

    And one thing TJ hated was scaring his brother like that. Dougie was one of the only people who really gave a shit, defended him, didn't let politics take over to the point that he barely paid TJ any attention. He came to pick up TJ whenever he got himself into a shitty situation; which was pretty frequently. He even helped him buy The Dome. Someday, TJ wants to be able to repay him for everything. He appreciates Dougie more than anyone in the world. And with that, the brunet wants to see him HAPPY.

    Right now, he isn't. And if it isn't about his job or TJ's latest stupid move, it must be about one other thing. And there's no lying to TJ about it. He tries to approach it as tactfully as he can.

     ❝So... eloping? What was the deal with that, little bro? Needed a break from us?❞

    If that was the reason, TJ can't really blame him. Their parents were a handful, and well, so is he. But he has a feeling Dougie did it impulsively. Rushed into it.

    ❝Thought you planned to have a big wedding with a chocolate fountain and ice sculptures.❞

    That was more Ann's thing, though. She played the part of sweet and perfect fiancee and TJ didn't really mind her, but he knows she's got a selfish and controlling streak, and Dougie's too goddamn nice to argue with what she wants. And TJ might be caught up in his own crap more often than not, but he still pays enough attention to see that Dougie doesn't really LIGHT UP around her. Doesn't seem to be truly in love. TJ has some experience in this field, and knows what love looks like. And what it doesn't. @politicalambition
