i think a lot about hot sauce and jeannemary. two young girls so ready to kill and to die. a comparison made all the worse when you recall that hot sauce lost all her family to the cohort, that she can specifically recall fourth style necromancy (using corpses as bombs). a fourteen and thirteen year old that could easily have been on opposite sides of the same front line.

working in healthcare can be funny, because sometimes family members will call and ask, "hey, I'm looking for a doctor who specializes in x, who would you recommend" and I have to remind them that I deal almost exclusively with doctors who want contracts signed and/or break the law

Despite living through the idiocy of every excruciating moment of the Trump Era, I somehow still find myself amazed at how fucking stupid these crimes are after reading the unsealed indictment. They are reckless and dangerous and serious violations of national security, but also just straight-up dumb. So goddamn dumb. I’m actually surprised that I am still finding ways to be shocked at the stupidity of this one supremely ignorant person. And at the fact that, after four years of having HIM as President of the United States, nearly 75 million Americans voted for him again.

Whether or not the adage that chronic stress is as bad as smoking is or true or not, hearing that and knowing that a huge stress factor is often one's continued financial, housing, and food security really should radicalize more people. The idea of stress being damaging to long and short-term health should make you stop and wonder what contributes to stress in the first place, and if preventative measures would inevitably be a net benefit to the overall health and wellbeing of everybody

#politics #mental health #obviously strss is an inevitable consequence of Being Alive #but chronic stress has chronic origin (unstable housing/lack of food/job insecurity or shortage/lack of healthcare/ect ad infinitum)#i just remember being told that (chronic/intense) stress is as bad as smoking and that sticks out to me #even if it's not true... doesn't that make you WANT to think deeper about that?#doesn't that make you want to consider what leads to such poor mental health that it destroys you from the inside out?#because to me it sticks out as something to radicalize you #and obviously smoking isn't magically ~Good~ because there are worse things out there/'just as bad' things #what i am trying to say is: if you take the concept of stress seriously then you need to interrogate WHY people are stressed #because it isn't just 'for no reason' or for 'small anxiety-inducing' things

I am begging literally anyone in the media to ask Sunak to apologise to Brianna Ghey’s parents for the *material* part his actions have played in their daughter’s murder by making transphobic violence habitually consequence-free.

He’s never going to apologise to them for his sick transphobic joke because that would mean admitting transphobia is wrong, and other than drowning refugees, accelerating climate change and selling the remnants of the British state off to his mates on the cheap, it’s one of the few policy platforms he actually has.

Just make anyone who is considering voting for him face even momentarily that his actions have consequences and that to do that is voting for more dead kids like Brianna. Make that connection explicitly for the millions of cis people out there who don’t see it.

It won’t reach him because he, as a Tory politician, has no soul, but it might reach *someone*.
